Give me an AP & look what happens - 2 for 1 PTR!! NEW 3/11 p.63 TR Link

Why do we torture ourselves looking at extended weather forecasts?

Right now, Accuweather is showing bad weather for the first two days of my upcoming vacation. :headache:

Thursday, 9/30: Humid with rain - 87 degrees (4 hours of rain during the day/6 hours of rain at night - almost 2 inches of rain!!)

Friday, 10/1: Cloudy with thunderstorms & rain - 91 degrees (9 hours of rain during the day/1 hour at night - almost an inch of rain!!)

Myforecast.com is a little better, but still forecasting rain on our first two days (99% chance of rain on 10/1).

I will not look again for a week, I will not look again for a week, I will not look again for a week... OK maybe just a few times... :rolleyes1

I'm going to skip Day three since it's pretty straight forward... Breakfast at FRESH, DTD for shopping & lunch, tea at the GF then off to MK or Epcot. Since we don't know which park we'll be visiting, it will all be bonus time. If we end up at MK, we'll probably see MSEP and Wishes.

Day four will be Magic Kingdom & departure day. :sad2: I'm struggling with this plan the most. I really hate to zig zag but I don't know how to avoid it... Luckily people are reporting really low crowds and short waits so hopefully that will continue for two more weeks. Again I feel like I'm stuffing way more into the plan than we'll actually be able to do. Laura has been to MK before so hopefully she'll have a sense of what she wants to do & what she wants to skip. We'll see...

Here's what I have so far...

• Grab breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery
• Check out & store luggage
• Catch bus to MK by 8:15
• Hopefully catch the opening ceremony (enter right tunnel ;))
• Fantasyland
o Grab FPs for Peter Pan
o Ride Pooh
o See Mickey’s Phiharmagic
• Adventureland
o Jungle Cruise or grab FP?
o POTC
• Frontierland
o BTMRR (FP?)
o Splash (FP?)
• Liberty Square
o Haunted Mansion
o Hall of Presidents
o Lunch?
o Run ahead for FPs to Buzz?
• Back to Fantasyland
o Peter Pan
o Mickey’s Philharmagic (if didn’t see before)
• Tomorrowland
o Buzz (FP?)
o TTA
o Carousel of Progress
o Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
• Pop into Expo Hall
• Bus back to BWI
• Collect bags & do airline check in (we paid for Early Bird check-in with Southwest so we won't have to worry about 24 hour check-in)
• ME Bus to airport around 4:30pm

How'd I do?

Right Tunnel!!!! The only way to enter pirate:

Peter Pan will be a walk-on in that early in the morning....save your FP gettin' for a Mountain.

The only weather you need to know about is the weather that could impact your flight down to Orlando since it's the only area that you can do something about.

I'm afraid of the left tunnel now.

I feel like I need to grab a FP for something right away... I figured we could ride the other Fantasyland rides and save PP for later since we'll have the FPs? :confused3

Is there another ride I should grab the FPs for first? Laura's not a thrill rider and may not even ride BTMRR... definitely not Space Mtn. Should we grab FPs for Splash first thing then head to Fantasyland?? I'm not very experienced with Fastpasses since we don't really use them with the boys.

I'll try not to worry about the weather... and I'll pack my rain gear! ;)

It's an irresistable urge, isn't it?!

pixiedust: for a change of forecast!

Check you Times Guide first!

Sometimes during the "slower times" of the year Frontierland doesn't open until 10am. That happened to me on our first trip (Sept) when I went for the Splash FP at opening! :headache:

Checking the weather is definitely irresistable! I peaked again this morning... looking better. :thumbsup2

Oh that's right... I think we've run across a closed Frontierland once or twice before...

Do not look at the weather. It will change every day from here on out, and then, when you are actually there, it will be completely different. It will just make you worry. :goodvibes

I personally wouldn't run ahead for a FP for Splash....just make it your first stop after Fantastland. And I'd do Peter Pan right then we I got to it.....back tracking into Fantasyland later in the day is never fun. I bet you finish Fantasyland not much after 10am.

BTW some people swear by the left tunnel as much as I swear by the right.....it's a personal mojo thing!

Hey Amy. First off I am glad to hear your GG is doing so well!!

Your plans look good. Hopefully the crowd levels will stay low for you.

I always look at the extended forecast too but how can they really tell what it will be doing in 15 days:confused3.

That book you did for Laura is great:thumbsup2. She should love it. You did a great job.

The extended forecast has CHANGED...according to AccuWeather. :cool1: Doesn't call for quite as much rain! :) On my arrival day it says "a morning shower". :cool1: You know you want to check....:lmao:

I know... I just can't help myself. It's fun to imagine what it will be like when I'm there... good or bad. :rolleyes1 Like Heidi said, as long as they aren't predicting a hurricane on our travel days I'll be OK.

I suppose I don't need to worry about FPs too much right at opening...

The right tunnel has served us well since we started using it so I'll stick with it. :thumbsup2

Hi Doreen!! I'm hoping for the low crowds to continue. F&W will be starting, along with the wine & dine half-marathon that weekend, so we'll see... It'll be great even if the crowds go up a bit. I think they'll still be lower than the times of year that we usual go.

Thanks about the book - Laura loved it!

I know! Let's hope it continues to improve. I think they stick rain on there at the tail end of the forecast just for fun. :confused3

it is best just not to look! At the weather that is...

Easier said than done.

I don't think I've ever walked through the left tunnel...regardless of when we get there!

:rotfl:

I know! I know!! But it's looking better today! :rolleyes1

We tend to use the right tunnel because of the stroller rental area! Not sure what we'll do about a stroller in February... But that's a discussion for another day! ;)

With only 11 days to go, I feel like there's a lot to do! :hyper:

I thought a fun way to conclude this portion of the PTR would be a top ten countdown. :thumbsup2 Starting tomorrow, and continuing each day until we leave, I’ll be posting (with pictures) my “Top ten things I’m looking forward to for this trip!” :cool1: Plus I may just post a little something about the weather since I’m a little obsessed with checking it. :rolleyes1 I know it will mostly be in fun since it changes so dramatically over the ten days… It's already changed a lot in the past four days since I started checking.

Tim returns home from Florida tomorrow & that’s my cue to start packing for my trip!! I’ve already put a few things in my suitcase (that hasn’t left my bedroom since our May trip), but I’ve held off on any serious organizing or packing until now. It’s going to be warm this week so I’ll probably have to wait a bit longer to pack clothes but next weekend is going to be busy with birthday parties (Zach turns 7 on the 23rd & my birthday is the 24th) so I’d like to get as much done as possible this week.

Next week is also going to be super busy work wise. I only have three days to get everything done in what is usually a busier work week with bi-weekly payrolls for a couple clients. Actually this week is going to be busy with work too... I have been given a file to work on that's four months behind and needs to be updated this week. :faint: But it will keep me distracted at least... I also have to finish up my instruction sheets for Tim (I'll work on that today). Does every Mom have to write a book before going away? :confused3

I also need to take my glasses over to Lenscrafters to have the lenses changed out. I scratched them about a week after I got them... :headache: but they'll swap out the lenses for half price any time within the first year. I wanted to wait until the end of summer since we go camping & visit the lake - there's always a risk of extra scratches there! But I definitely want to get it done before Disney.

So check back daily to find out what I'm most looking forward to for this girls only weekend trip!

Loved the guide you made!! You are so organized!!

I like the countdown idea.

I obsess about the weather before our trips too.

Your time will fly by with all the other things to distract you.

I like to spend my time being OCD about Disney vacations to avoid the chaos of my life!

The weather... :rolleyes1

It is definitely going to fly by! I just added another thing to my list - I have to pick up DMIL at the airport next Tuesday! Luckily she'll be back before I leave so she can help Tim out while I'm gone! Including my trip - I will have driven to or from the airport (45 minutes) six times in two and a half weeks! :headache:

Amy, you sound like you'll be VERY busy until you leave! I don't have too much going on the next couple weeks but enough to make the time go by faster, too!

Yesterday we painted our garage and put up some shelves. It was yucky drywall with big white plaster markings everywhere. We're really excited about it. I finished making a tote bag for someone who requested a custom bag, so I decided to put away my sewing things until I get back from Disney. I have 2 bags and 2 crayon rolls posted on Etsy so I'm thinking that will hold me over. Where I'm going with that is, I also plan on getting a lot of Disney packing done this week.

I work everyday this week (as usual) and Thursday night I am sitting for a family with one child. It's my first time sitting for them so I hope it goes well. I'm excited to get some extra $$ for Disney. :)

Saturday I am getting my hair done and then we are going to my DBIL and DSIL's housewarming party. (Well, if you want to get techincal, it's a condowarming being as they live in the city.) Sunday we don't have any plans aside from going to church. That's the day when I will pick out all of my outfits for Disney. :)

Well, I'm off to check the weather. :rotfl:

I really hope our paths cross in two weeks. I'd love to meet you!!

Me too!!! :lmao:

The countdown sounds like a lot of fun! Looking forward to it!

Starting the countdown now! :thumbsup2

Wow - Sounds like you are finding things to keep yourselves busy! Painting the garage... :worship:

Good luck with the new babysitting job & congrats on selling a custom bag! Was that through Etsy?

I don't exactly remember your itinerary, but I think our only overlap is maybe Saturday night if we end up at MK... :confused3 Does that sound right? We are at DHS on Thursday, Epcot on Friday, DTD during the day Saturday with either MK or Epcot Saturday night, then MK on Sunday.
