We're trying to have Alex participate in the town soccer program without an aide this year... that was another trying thing on my plate yesterday afternoon... He only tackled three kids during the 90 minute practice. Yes, I said soccer... not football!

But I'll be in WDW in three weeks!! I'm glad I have that light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks Heidi! GG is getting a nice dose of morphine... she's a bit more confused than normal, but comfortable.

Yes - but it was just what they call the "initial interview" where they reviewed the papework to make sure I included everything. I had one thing I needed to fax to them when I got home. She said the paperwork would go to Concord (our state capital... for the benefit of those other than Heidi) next & hopefully I'd get a quick decision since I included so much backup paperwork.

Oh, Amy, that's terrible... poor GG.

When a person is elderly it's so hard to decide whether surgery under general anesthesia will do more harm or more good... I will pray for her (and you.) May you all have the strength needed to get through this ordeal.

GG should be having the surgery tomorrow. They had to give you some blood today & some other stuff to get her ready for the surgery. They decided to go for a hip replacement rather than trying to piece her back together.

She is comfortable and both of her kids (DMIL & her brother) are with her. Tim talked to her tonight & thought she sounded a bit out of it, but good.

I'll keep you posted... but for now I leave you with a few purchases I made at the Disney store yesterday. It's right in Manchester by the airport so I decided to stop by and kill the extra 45 minutes I had before I needed to head back home. It was a nice treat in the middle of all the craziness yesterday. Sorry Heidi... I would have called you but it was a very last minute stop.

I'll be getting this for my birthday! It will serve as my carry-on for my trip with Laura:

GG had her hip surgery this morning - a partial hip replacement. She made it through well... but had some complications due to the little bit of fluid in her lungs. They sent her to ICU and started her on a diuretic, which seems to be helping. The news we are getting from DMIL sounds optimistic, but it could just be the way she is presenting it.

We hope to have another update tomorrow morning.

Oh I was sooo close to buying that too! I had it in my hand (the other style they had with that pattern was really cute too) but changed my mind at the last minute.

Perhaps it deserves another look.....
