YAY for savings!! :banana::banana:

Snowy is such a cutie! :cat:

I'm really looking forward to hearing about Via Napoli once you get back. It sounds really great!

So I decided to check the Southwest website this morning and low & behold... Our flight down to Orlando on 9/30 was back down to $79!!

I double checked & triple checked then rebooked Laura's flight! So now we've each saved $84 and I used up my old credits!!:banana:

Woo-hooty! :woohoo:

I need some help...

I've read about the afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian. It has always looked interesting to me... but as the mom of only boys, I haven't given it a second thought... Until recently... I was reading about it on another TR (Peter Pan Fan 22) and saw it in a whole new light. I have a girls weekend trip coming up... maybe Laura would be interested in visiting the GF.

I'm not a big fan of tea, or little tea sandwiches... but from what I understand we could just go for dessert & could get coffee. I can't stop thinking about those beautiful strawberries with the cream! :cloud9:

But when could we fit it in?

Should we plan a mid-afternoon break from Epcot on Day 2? :confused3
Should we fit it into our laid back day on Day 3? :confused3

Day 2 is currently planned at Epcot all day - with ADRs for lunch & dinner - a lot of food! And the F&W Festival will be starting this day - lots more food! But it would be easy to get there from Epcot.

Day 3 is a quiet morning, breakfast at Fresh (Dolphin) at 9:15, DTD, then either Epcot or MK (MSEP) in the evening - potential ADRs are made for each park. Would we have time to fit in tea at the GF & keep our laid back day feeling laid back?

I'm leaning toward Day 3, but what time? How long do we need at DTD? We like to shop, especially Laura, but we aren't planning to spend a ton of money there either. But without park hoppers, it could be more difficult to get to/from the GF from the BWI if we can't go through Epcot... unless of course we decide that today will be another Epcot day?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I say go for the GF tea! After all, when will a better opportunity present itself? I would do it on Day Three and make it for the latest they have -- that way you can head straight to the Magic Kingdom from there.

oh yes do the tea, what a fun thing to do on a girls only trip. :)

As to which day, I say the laid back day, but like you said, depends on which park you go to I guess. Or move some ADR's around again. or cancel one:scared1: and do a light counter service meal and then go have dessert/tea time at the GF.

If you did the tea then I would say go with the laid back day. I would only go to DTD for about 2 hours. and since you said you are not going to spend much then i would say about an hour if you are staying in market place. but what do i know? i have been to disney only 2 times and you have a lot more trips on your shoulders. Dont know if that helped any.

That's a good idea - whether we end up at Epcot or MK, going straight to the park from the tea could work out well! :thumbsup2

The only definite ADR on day 3 is the breakfast. So we'll have a sit down breakfast at 9:15, then grab some lunch at DTD around 1 or 2. We have dinner ADRs but nothing that we are dying to try so if we aren't hungry we can skip... And actually they are on the early side (5:30) so maybe I will have to move some things around... :confused3

:rotfl: An hour! Men certainly shop differently than women! ;) I'm sure we'll need at least two or three! We'll spend over an hour in World of Disney alone!

The other change is that I was able to get a later ADR for 50s PTC. Instead of 4:35 I got 5:50. :thumbsup2 That will give us more flexibility for lunch.

that is great! :thumbsup2

Here are our other goals for the park:

Definite:
• The Magic of Disney Animation (allow 45 minutes)
so hey...have you done the "tour/talk" part before? not to burst any bubbles...but it is not that impressive...when the studio was actually producing animation it was cool...but if you don't get an enthusatic CM (like we did last yr)...it's kind of a bore IMHO...I'd just go in through the gift shop...check out some characters and the video screens...plus the Drawing Academy...
No:
• Walt Disney – One Man’s Dream – CLOSED :sad1:

so why is it closed?

I agree w/ both of them...but maybe cancel one thing across the board to add that in...or.....

you should do at least something girly you'd never do w/ Tim and the boys...

plus you are the QUEEN of deals....:worship:

J~

Thanks for the scoop on the Animation tour... I'm not overly interested in seeing it, but thought this would be my chance. Never seen it before... And now I might not see it at all...

One Man's Dream is closed for rehab. Maybe I'll get a chance to see it another time. :rolleyes1

I'm leaning toward a schedule that looks something like this for Day 3:

9:15 Breakfast at the Dolphin
DTD 10:30/11:00ish - 2:00ish... Not sure if that's a good amount of time?? :confused3 (lunch at DTD)
Return to BWI & rest (if time) & get ready for the evening
Walk to DHS/Bus to GF (is that the best way?)
Tea around 4:00
Monorail to MK or Epcot (probably our only monorail ride of the trip)

What do you think? Is this doable? Too much for one day? Not enough time at DTD? Too much time at DTD?

I'm no help on the when, but I definitely think you should do tea at GF! :thumbsup2 I was going to do it when my January trip was going to be Chuck and I. Now I don't really have time to fit it in. Love to hear about it if you go.

Thanks Carissa - The more I think about it, the more I know we have to do it!! I plan to call for a ressie tomorrow. It doesn't appear that I can do that one online. :confused3

Next Saturday we'll be heading out to the Berkshires for 5 days of R&R. DMIL (Nancy)'s cousins own a cottage right on a lake that they rent out to extended family during the weeks they aren't using it. Luckily this is the second year we've been able to go the week we wanted. The kids had so much fun last year - we all did! We can't wait to get back. We might spend one day at Six Flags New England while we're out there if we need a break from too much down time.

But first I owe you some pictures... First up - pictures from our one night camping trip a couple weeks ago:

And my recent creation... Mousekeeping envelopes!! They aren't glued yet so if they look a little crooked it's only temporary:

The Mickey ears & Mickey hand will only be glued at the bottom so the top part is loose to tuck the money in. :thumbsup2 They are inspired by Disney Crafter's mousekeeping envelopes.

Tomorrow I plan to call Disney Dining to make an ADR for tea at the GF. My plan for Day 3 is as follows:

9:15 Breakfast at the Dolphin
DTD 10:30/11:00ish - 2:00ish... Not sure if that's a good amount of time?? (lunch at DTD)
Return to BWI & rest (if time) & get ready for the evening
Walk to DHS/Bus to GF (is that the best way?)
Tea around 4:00
Monorail to MK or Epcot (probably our only monorail ride of the trip)
If at MK: maybe grab a late CS meal for dinner & take it to stake out a spot for the parade?
If at Epcot: F&W Festival booths for dinner?

What do you think? Is this doable? Too much for one day? Not enough time at DTD? Too much time at DTD?

Finally... Tuesday morning is the big day for booking our aifare with Southwest Airlines!! I changed my 10am hair apointment so I will be home when they release the tickets! But I have another appointment at noon so I hope to be done by then.

Wish me luck!!

I am so happy that I inspired you. Yours look so good! I don't like the way the g's look on mine, yours look much better!

I think if you want to do the tea go for it. Especially since you'll be back in February! :thumbsup2

I love the Mousekeeping envelopes! I really like big bold graphics.

Great Mousekeeping envelopes!!! I agree with Heidi -- the big bold graphics are wonderful!

I can't believe it was chilly enough to wear jackets when you were camping!

Good luck making your tea reservation tomorrow. I think your schedule is definitely doable!

A trip to the Berkshires sounds lovely!

The camping night looked so fun for your boys....:goodvibes I'm not the campy kind of girl...but Bekah loves it...good thing for Matt I see many Father Daughter trips in the future...

Love the idea of a restful trip to end the summer...we are down to one week and the realization of new schedules and times and getting 4 kids off to 3 schools...

I think you should just have a must time of when you'd have to leave by and then just decide when you are there...it probably comes down to how much time to you want in between shopping and the tea?

the transportation sounds right to me...

I'll have to go back and look at your g's... I didn't notice them looking weird. :confused3 Did you use a Mickey font?

I made an ADR for the tea today! :thumbsup2

Thanks Heidi!! Now if I could just find my glue! :rolleyes1

Yes - it was pretty chilly in the woods. It's funny - I took Zach over to the playground near the beach and we were really hot! We don't usually start a fire in the morning, but Tim started one up that morning because there was still a chill in the air. Gotta love New England!

I can't wait to head out to the Berkshires... it's like camping but with more of the luxuries of home. No tv, dishwasher, showers (we use sunshowers) but we have a refrigerator, bathroom (flushing toilet & sink only), fireplace, etc. It's a good middle-of-the-road option!

The camping night looked so fun for your boys....:goodvibes I'm not the campy kind of girl...but Bekah loves it...good thing for Matt I see many Father Daughter trips in the future...

First - thanks about the envelopes. I have a Cricut (that I don't use very often) and several Disney cartridges. I never would have thought to do them this way if I hadn't seen what Disney Crafter did with her Cricut.

Second - I grew up camping. We even did overnight hikes where you have to carry everything on your back! :scared1: I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon!

The kids start school two weeks from today. This week is a bit crazy, but once we leave on Saturday we'll have five days of much needed R&R. The boys have been in summer school and/or camp all summer so they need the break just as much as Tim & I do. When we get back it's right back into the craziness... We head down to Bostoon next Thursday to see the neurologist for their semi-annual visit. Then Friday involves haircuts, a dentist appointment and the first grade orientation picnic. :faint:

You're so crafty! :worship:

I'm glad you're doing the GF Tea... do girly stuff while you can!!

Kathy

Thanks Kathy!! Yes - booked the tea today!
