**Girly Only Pre-Christmas Shopping Weekend**

I think you can get a group discount, we do for work functions etc. We just call the hotel and say we will be needing approximately however many rooms and agree a rate then the individuals just call and book and pay for their own rooms quoting the group name to claim the discounted rate. Once we decide on a hotel it is maybe worth calling to ask if we could perhaps do this :)

To be honest Deb, I didn't know where to start with that

I didn't want one person to have to be responsible for booking everyone's room, this way everyone was only responsible for their own (and their roomy's booking)

Though any help in finding a discount would be great :thumbsup2

Mandy :)

I wouldn't mind having a go at getting some kind of discount if you like.

Matt hasn't stopped grinning since he found out I'll be away for two nights! Either I'm more of a witch than I realised, or he's got a girlfriend! :rotfl: He's been a-plotting and a-scheming like a good 'un.

Mmm what has he got planned.........

I might be able to come, i'd like to as long as you all don't mind a young 'un tagging along :cutie: (i'm 23)

Are you trying to make out we are all 'old fart's' ;) We would love for you to join us.

Oh this sounds like fun, but I dont think I will be able to do shopping though.

Great news Michelle :)

So i guess that means that i'll be on the maybe list.

Great news Claire!

This can be a double celebration for me as I turn the big 30 just over a week later (not sure if I am happy about that or not).

Lou

We will certainly celebrate that Lou :)

This is a wonderful response  If anyone is lurking and is still thinking about coming - go on take the plunge............ we will have a great time

Dh said that sometimes he sees offers for Travel Inn and other hotels for £1 a night. It might be worth holding fire to see if any offers come up.

Normally on www.hotukdeals.co.uk

I would really like to come, however I am not sure if I can yet, :confused3

I spoke to group reservations at the Hyatt this afternoon and the rates she quoted me were the same as on their web site (even though she said it was a discounted rate) :confused3

I have just had a look on their site and you can get a rate of £79.20 per night (for twin room) but it's an advance purchase rate (needs to be paid up front and cancellation fee of 1 night stay applies). Otherwise you're looking at £99 per night for a twin room (room only) or £123 per night for twin room (B&B). They also do a government rate (which I know a couple of us may be eligible for) of £89.20 per night (room only).

Sorry girls, I did try - I really can't understand why their group rate is no cheaper :confused3

Ah well, thanks for trying Joh, really nice of you:grouphug:

Thanks so much for trying Joh. I think The Hyatt is going to be our chosen hotel and I will book the 79.20 advance rate once it's been agreed

Mandy :)

What's government rate mean? just out of interest

Emily, it's for people who work for local and national/international government. If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, I am not sure if it applies to teachers - you could always ring and ask ;)

lol i was actually thinking that as working for government you do get discounts for health clubs etc. If i do stay, i might double check.

I am going to close this thread and start a new one with the details of our hotel and 'roomys'

Mandy :)
