Girls Trip Take 2 - Labor Day Weekend 2021, Christmas 2021 and July 2024 Trips

Something is better than nothing.
::yes::
They are at the Critter Co-op near the ride and Main Street Confectionary.
Thanks! :)

No idea when I’ll get there again though.
The first trip she got the wrong type of legs, The second trip she got the right type of legs but wrong size, they were too short. She says she now has the right pair.
:( lots of back and forth.
have no idea where she will put it once it's done. Her apartment is not that big.
She’ll need a second place!

I can't even remember what kind of bird it was, but it was just so dang hilarious!! LOL

And made for a great family memory.

Totally worth the wait!!!! And she can keep the box as a table even when she starts building :) When we got married, we used an igloo cooler for almost a year before we got a real table!

We'll have to see how long she uses the box as furniture.

The fireworks where we were had the same feeling LOL. Just meh!

Nothing compares to Disney fireworks.

SO happy!! I love that gigantic bag, too!!

We got a great use out of the bag. It was perfect to put her hang up clothes in and take them back and forth from the old apartment to the new apartment.

I saw her mention moving the castle on IG. I'm glad she was able to fix it, but I can't imagine how NOT fun it was to move!!!

She was very relieved it was fixable. It really stressed her out the whole drive to the new apartment.

Thursday, December 2, 2021-Epcot Holiday Happenings

We grabbed a spot on a bench to get ready to see Sigrid and the Barn Santa. I'm sorry I don't remember all the details of the storyteller but I do remember it was really cute and fun. Sigrid doesn't believe in the Barn Santa so he plays some tricks on her to get her to believe in him. The Barn Santa is very mischievous which makes for lots of laughs. We took John Paul to see this show in December and he enjoyed it very much.

I haven't seen all the Storytellers yet, but so far this has been my favorite.

We had to start making our way to Coral Reef for our Candlelight Processional package after enjoying the Barn Santa.

I got photos of the Olaf and Bruni statue and the Pua & Hei Hei statue on our way.

1720576357184.png
We stopped for the Gingerbread Cookie at Holiday Hearth Desserts. This ended up going into a zip lock to be tasted later. I don't remember if it was good or not.
1720576442107.png
I really wanted to try more cookies but we just didn't have enough time or stomach space.
We also saw Joy in her Holiday attire as we made our way to the Coral Reef.
1720576521006.png
We checked in for our ADR and were soon seated at a table for 4 right up next to the tank. The very first time Dennis and I ate here we had a table next to the tank too and it made a really big impression on us. We have tried eating here several times and it has never lived up to that first visit. The only reason we came on this trip was for the CP seating.
We were greeted by the shark not too long after being seated.

I don't have photos of everyone's meals but I'll share what I do have. We did have Danielle's friend eating with us and I didn't want to freak him out too much.
Here is my app the Shrimp cocktail.
1720577005479.png
I'm pretty sure Danielle had the same app too. She's a sucker for shrimp cocktail.
I had the Mahi for my entrée. Grilled Mahi Mahi, coconut-lime rice, mango salsa, avocado
I've had this before and really enjoyed it but on this night it was just ok.
1720577301385.png

Looking at this photo it looks like we had a bread service. We all know this is pretty much a thing of the past now with Disney table service.

Continued in next post.

Danielle had the Shrimp and Grits which is no longer on the menu.

1720577586979.png

Danielle's friend had the steak and I was wishing I had gotten it too.

1720577643246.png

Dennis also had the Mahi Mahi too. I think he was eyeing that steak right along with me. I think we both had trouble ordering a steak when we're at a seafood restaurant. We really shouldn't hold seafood restaurants to the same standards as we hold them to here in Louisiana, they just can't compare. I know we're food snobs when it comes to seafood.

I did enjoy seeing all the sea creatures and we even saw some divers.

1720577739921.png

1720577771832.png
1720577795151.png

We all got the Key Lime Pie done up fancy for the 50th. I do remember this being really good along with being pretty.

1720577866333.png

Our service was not the best, as you can see all the empty glasses. Dennis judges his table service based on if his glass is filled within a reasonable time.

The meal for 4 was $315 and the food was not worth it. There were no discounts offered for the CP package. We'll have to see if seeing the CP was worth that price.

Don't even think it. She did rent a storage room that currently has her Christmas decoration in it, so she may be adding more to the room.
Coming up next in Danielle's Lego playland...
1720588143324.png
At 10,000 pieces, it has about 900 more pieces than Titanic!

She'll also have to get:
1720588292308.png
The Colosseum. Just slightly fewer pieces at 9,036

And I assume she either has, or will have soon, these two:

And I suppose she shouldn't ignore Universal...

1720588484139.png

That'll be good... for a start.

I haven't seen any of the Storytellers.

Like this one. :)

Probably just okay, then. If it was amazing, or terrible, you'd probably remember.
I really wanted to try more cookies but we just didn't have enough time or stomach space.
Always the battle at Disney.
So much food, so little belly room!
We checked in for our ADR and were soon seated at a table for 4 right up next to the tank.
Yuss...
Just once I'd like to be in the water when people I know are dining.

Me too. :)

How so? By taking too many food pictures?
Here is my app the Shrimp cocktail.

What an interesting presentation!
Grilled Mahi Mahi, coconut-lime rice, mango salsa, avocado
<sigh>
There are so many dishes that I want to try that are "ruined" by having coconut.
Danielle had the Shrimp and Grits which is no longer on the menu.
Too bad. Looks good.
I think we both had trouble ordering a steak when we're at a seafood restaurant.
Me too.
And yet... My DD ordered one there years ago and really liked it.

Totally okay. If I'm ever back in LA, maybe we can get some together.
I did enjoy seeing all the sea creatures and we even saw some divers.
Did they interact with you at all?
:lmao:
We all got the Key Lime Pie done up fancy for the 50th.
mmmmmm... yes please
Our service was not the best, as you can see all the empty glasses. Dennis judges his table service based on if his glass is filled within a reasonable time.
Not a bad way to rate them
The meal for 4 was $315 and the food was not worth it.
:scared:

We went in Coral Reef just once and Andi did not like the smell and she did not want to eat in front of the fish 🐟 :confused3
Needless to say we had a quick appetizer in there and left. She felt bad for eating seafood in front of the fish :rotfl:
We have never been back. We love the aquarium in the Seas but I guess the restaurant with the aquarium was not for her.
This was way before the sick 🤧
Did you notice a strong fish smell in there? I do remember that on our one visit.

I’ve been loving all your updates The Barn Santa sounds fun. My grandkids get to have two Christmas traditions with a mix of both Danish Nisse and Irish Santa ( pretty much same as your traditions). I love how different cultures celebrate the holidays.
I’m also loving the Lego sets (Lego is a Danish invention or so my son-in-law likes to tell me). I was a huge Lego fan as a kid. My fondest memories of my Granda is building with him. He kept a big square biscuit ( cookie) tin filled with Lego under his sofa and every Sunday he and I would build whatever our imagination fancied. He passed away almost 50 years ago but I still remember those Sundays so fondly. Now I build with my grandson but we are usually following instructions from the kit 😂
I’m really hoping the CP makes up for the lacklustre food 🤞

These all look awesome, but she doesn't have any real interest in any of these. She has always had a fascination with the Titanic. She did her middle school social studies fair on it.

She has friend that has the Falcon an I like the Harry Potter ones.

If you make it back at Christmas time try to catch some.

Like this one. :)

Thank you!

Another vote for the steak.

Totally okay. If I'm ever back in LA, maybe we can get some together.

Yes we will, but not just seafood. You need some Cajun or Creole seafood dishes.

Did they interact with you at all?

Not that I remember.

. She felt bad for eating seafood in front of the fish :rotfl:

I have never thought about that. Easting seafood is second nature to me so it doesn't bother me. Andy has a very kind heart to think of the fishes.

Did you notice a strong fish smell in there? I do remember that on our one visit.

I don't think I have ever notices a fishy smell there and I have been there a few times.

I've always loved Lego too. I use to help my oldest build him sets when he was little and the instructions were not near as good as they are now. I don't think I had any sets when I was little but my younger sisters has some of the general Legos. You have such a special memory with your Ganda. I have one with my Aunt. When my Dad passed when I was in the 6th grade she spent time with me building a house with my sister's Legos. It was great to have someone give me one on one time in all the confusion of what was happening.

I hope JP remembers me helping him build.

I’m really hoping the CP makes up for the lacklustre food 🤞

We shall see.

She has always had a fascination with the Titanic. She did her middle school social studies fair on it.
Really! I know my eldest is (was?) quite fascinated as well. We visited Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Halifax to see all the Titanic gravestones. It had quite the impact. (Over a hundred Titanic victims are buried there.)

Big "if"... but you never know.
That would be so cool.

I suppose. I'm so used to either doing it or seeing others do it now.
You need to get over that.
I doubt that will ever happen.

Yes!!
Not that I remember.
Shame. That's pretty much the main reason why I do it. It's so much fun interacting with the people on the other side of the glass.

Very cool! Danielle would love this too.

Your loss.

So much good food here.

I hope you do it again.

Your moving days with Danielle sounded exhausting just reading it. I can see Elizabeth doing the same thing with me when the time comes.

HughugI think this is really great that they get to share in so many different traditions.
Some Danish traditions are a lot of fun. It’s lovely the kids get to know them all.

I’m so glad your aunt was able to be there for you at such a sad and confusing time. So sorry for the loss of your dad
