Girls Trip Revisited-- Final Day (Part 3) -- August 14

Okay, so I've only made it through a few pages but I'm so glad I decide to check out your report! You are just too charming for words.

Back to reading....

Always rains on an Epcot day. :confused3 Why is that? Our worst rainy day was an Epcot day in 2008. We thought we'd run into American Adventure to eat and wait it out. We had Soarin' FP but didn't want to run in the rain to get there (and of course, this would be the 1 time I left ponchos behind). Waited a good looonnnng time and it was not letting up. Decided to skip Soarin and just make a run for it back to the BC. Rained the whole trip back to the resort. And wouldn't you know, that is when it finally began to let up! :rotfl2: So by then we were dripping. Changed clothes and walked back to Epcot for Illuminations. We gave up on trying to make it to Soarin'.

Kids all love to stop to play the music. Awesome when you have the time to take it all in and enjoy the little moments.

Wishing you all the best with whatever you decide to do for your mom. I was lucky my sister was willing to move in with my mom when her dementia really started becoming a large worry. But I get along with my mom. Can't imagine what I'd do if it wasn't a good relationship and I had to figure out what to do. :grouphug:

Great Updates of your day at E[pcot !!It is definately my favorite park!! I love the Lands and Soarin' To bad those people were jerks that you gave the FP's to:sad1:I haven't beeen to Liberty Inn for a while, but I really like it , inside air conditioned and good food !!!:goodvibes

Sorry it was rainy on your day at Epcot.

Love seeing the pic of how much the kids grew in a year. I always do that with Disney pics of my kids too!:thumbsup2

I'm not quite caught up yet but have to go get Miss Katie tucked in in a few minutes so want to reply because I think my reply from a week or two ago never posted. :confused3

So much fun (except for the transportation issues!!!) I think I would have walked to DHS after all that bus/boat drama. sheesh!

Your B&C ice creams look soo yummy. One of these trips we will just go there for ice cream, then maybe lunch after if there is room!!

I chuckled when I saw Mary's comment that the little guy wanted to walk. No point wasting $ on a stroller if the child wants to move! The good think about a slow pace is that you do get the chance to really look around as you walk instead of rushing from one ride to the next.

This is SUCH a great photos. All of the girls will be looking back on this one when they are in their 30's & 40's remembering when. its a real memory!

Hilarious grumpy faces!!!

You got quite a bit done, two parks and a break in one day too.

aah there's Katie ready for bed (mostly, that girl can waste more time!)

I'll be back later and maybe will even catch up before you head back for your anniversary.

YAY for another girls trip!:cheer2:

Well, I've never done the video in France either! In fact the only one I have done is Norway.

You need to rectify that in September.

Love the girls making Mark proud by taking hat photos! :rotfl:

They enjoyed doing that for Mr. Mark.

I can see how that might be. It looks like it should be really good, but based on the description, I'd figure it would be kind of so-so.

Too me it looked way too sweet.

Ok, gotta know. What did they do? :confused3

They were just not very thankful. We asked if they planned on riding Soarin', we told them we had Fastpasses and would they like them and they said sure. Then after I gave them to them, no thank you or anything.

Well, that could have happened on the walk back. :rolleyes1

You make a good point.

I'm not gonna lie. I kind of want one of those. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

They were cute. :)

Naturally :rolleyes1

Oh hush now...I hadn't at one since the day I left Chicago.

It's a Small Mexico! :woohoo:

Snore snore snore!

Great idea. And great pictures. :thumbsup2

Thank you.

Fab updates Kathy!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi, Molly. Just so you know, my friend. Even though you've been missing, you get here more than two other people who shall remain nameless!

It was insanely hot when we were there in mid-May through Memorial Day and lordy, I thought my skin was going to just melt off! Sounds like that weather continued into June for your girls trip.:sad2:

It was hot in June when we were there. Normally, I wouldn't mind it, but when you are walking at a snail's pace and stopping all the time, it got to me.

Wow, so the folks you gave away your FP's too were rude?!?! That's crazy...or should I say that's nice (shout out to Timmy there!). We've never encountered that before, usually people are so grateful. Where are people's manners nowadays? Sheesh.

As I often say, we've become a very selfish society.

Loving all the hat tributes to Mr. Mark! I'm sure he was proud.:thumbsup2

He was very proud, but also doesn't want anyone taking away his glory. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The girls are so cute in these pics Kathy, they've sure grown since your last trip with them.

They have; Mary posted pictures from their first day of school today on Facebook and I swear they've grown in the two months since I've seen them.

Rain. Sigh. It should not be allowed at Disney, ever.

I couldn't agree more!

Looks like you girlies were really enjoying this trip, how fun!:goodvibes

I think they had a good time; I know I did.

I hear those american dreams are supposed to be good, i have never had one though. I can imagine them being too much.

Too sweet is my take on it (and I'm not a "fruity" person to begin with.

Cayley and Avery are just the sweetest/prettiest little girls ever!

Yes, I have to agree with you that they are.

Nope none of my friends are disney/florida crazy like me :( It's sad. Unless I can book the same time a group of dissers are going maybe and join them?! We'll see.

That's too bad.

Kathy, once again great pictures. Sorry for the rainy day at Epcot but I have learned a rainy day in WDW is better than a sunny day at home. :lmao:

Normally, I agree...but we had so much rain (and it seems they are calling for quite a bit when I'm there next week :scared1:).

Great update!!!
The girls are beautiful!!! nope never did the movies either.. another epcot fail on my part.

Well, you need to rectify that fail next year!

You guys really covered a lot of ground in Epcot. In that heat, no wonder everyone was tired!

We did cover a lot of ground, and I'm sure that and the heat had a lot to do with us being exhausted.

I can totally see my kids wanting to get their lunch in an Agent P box.

And they weren't too expensive either.

The pictures turned out great!

Thanks, Mark.

Love the Agent P lunch box! I'm gonna have to check that out next time!

I'll look and see if they still have them when I am there next week.

We have never seen the movies at WS either. :sad2: I guess if we were able to go to Disney more often we may try to see them, but just going every couple of years... we typically just skip them.

It's hard to do everything in one trip so I totally understand.

My DD11 has the same black and pink Minnie hat that Avery has! I just love that hat, and would probably wear it if it were in an adult size. ::yes::

I thought it was really cute.

LOVE the pictures of the girls in front of Spaceship Earth!!! pixiedust: And yes, they have grown so much! Hate that that happens so quickly! :sad1:

I hate that they grow so fast too...and they aren't even my kids.

great pics, i enjoyed the epcot touring

Thanks, Dan.

More adorable pictures! Those girls are too cute!

Thank you, Mary Ellen.

Great usage on Epcot and pictures. I think we did the China film years ago. We do watch the one on the land because our village is in it. You must be almost ready for your next trip...have fun!

I can't do the films every trip because there's so much else to do. I think if they would insert seats in all of them it would be a different story.

All caught up again !! The girls really have grown. My kids have as well. Why can't they just stop ?? LOL.

Susan

Seriously? I still can't believe my baby is married. I don't know where that time went at all.

All caught up! Sounds like a nice evening at Epcot despite the rain. Cute little Perry lunch boxes! I know Maddie would love that!

I'm surrpised Maddie didn't spot it while you were there.

They grow so fast don't they? Beautiful girls.

Yes, they do grow too fast; and they are beautiful girls.

Hope things are working out with your mom!

Thanks; my brother is working on a lot of paperwork right now.

I enjoyed your last couple of updates. Nice pictures from Nemo and in the aquariums. It is so hard taking pictures in there.

It is hard taking pictures in there; I never know if I should use my flash or not. And the moving motion of the fish doesn't help. :lmao:

That stinks that the recipients of your Soarin' FP were jerks! I am always amazed at how difficult it can be to give those away. We have had a lot of people who don't speak English, or it is the wrong number of people in hte party or others who think we are trying to scam them. I do a lot of studying/vetting now before I offer up FP.

I will be much more careful the next time I am giving up Fastpasses!

Sounds like you picked a good time to take a break to mostly avoid the rain.

Yes; too bad we couldn't avoid it on our final day (which should be coming up).

Glad you made it back to EPCOT

Me too!

I love that movie in France, but it has been a long time since I have seen it.

It's probably my favorite movie...the colors, the music, etc.

The lunchboxes at the Liberty Inn are way cool!

The kids really liked them.

I like the way you are blocking out the photos!

Cameron and Sam are really cute kids, but I do't want to post their pictures since mom didn't give us permission.

I LOVE the pictures with the EPCOT ball. Cute little girls who are getting bigger!

Yes they sure are getting bigger.

I see a pretty pink bird.

My mother-in-law used to collect those pretty pink birds.

I am going to buy one of those drums one of these years. ::yes::

I think I'll buy my first grandson one of those...payback time!

I like shots like this of the simple things. Kids love stopping to play music in WDW. It's a nice change to have permission to make lots of noise. :goodvibes

Isn't it, though? And the simple things are often the best things.

I have had such little DIS time lately. I am trying to catch up this morning, and it's such a treat to enjoy all of the pictures!

You have your hands full with school; you get here when you can. :)

It is so great to be able to walk back to BCV. Looks like you timed it right with the rain.

That was probably my favorite part of BCV...being able to walk back.

I think you had a very full day- no wonder everyone was tired.

And it was hot!

So close to that next trip. :goodvibes

Three days, 3 hours, 32 minutes.....

But who's counting? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am loving those lunch boxes...the bad thing is you have to carry them around the rest of the day.

We had a backpack so it wasn't a problem, and they weren't that big.

The girls sound like Claire, you buy her something of her own and she doesn't like it or only about half of it. but if I buy something to share...she eats most of it.

Isn't that always the way?

Okay, so I've only made it through a few pages but I'm so glad I decide to check out your report! You are just too charming for words.

Back to reading....

:welcome::welcome: and thank you. I am going to be sure to show my husband what you wrote so he knows just how charming I am. ;)

And wouldn't you know, that is when it finally began to let up! :rotfl2: So by then we were dripping. Changed clothes and walked back to Epcot for Illuminations. We gave up on trying to make it to Soarin'.

I remember last year it poured on our Epcot Day too. We got stuck in the Mexico Pavilion for at least an hour. I don't remember it ever raining when we were at AK through the years. I can't believe it stopped as you got near the resort. Never fails.

Kids all love to stop to play the music. Awesome when you have the time to take it all in and enjoy the little moments.

It was a good way to rest for a few minutes and they had so much fun. My husband tends to do the same thing. :rotfl:

Wishing you all the best with whatever you decide to do for your mom. I was lucky my sister was willing to move in with my mom when her dementia really started becoming a large worry. But I get along with my mom. Can't imagine what I'd do if it wasn't a good relationship and I had to figure out what to do. :grouphug:

Thank you; like I said previously, going to let my brother worry about it for now since he lives with her and I'm going to enjoy my vacation.

Thanks, Rosie. I'll be more carefuly with my fastpass distribution this trip. We like Liberty Inn even though it gets a bad rap most of the time.

Sorry it was rainy on your day at Epcot.

Love seeing the pic of how much the kids grew in a year. I always do that with Disney pics of my kids too!:thumbsup2

It always seems to be our Epcot day that it rains.

When our boys traveled with us, I used to do that too with the pictures. It's a good reminder of how fast they grow. :sad1:

I'm not quite caught up yet but have to go get Miss Katie tucked in in a few minutes so want to reply because I think my reply from a week or two ago never posted. :confused3

Hi, MaryEllen.

So much fun (except for the transportation issues!!!) I think I would have walked to DHS after all that bus/boat drama. sheesh!

I had never had such poor bus service in all of my trips. If it hadn't been for the rain, we probably would have walked and gotten there a lot faster.

Your B&C ice creams look soo yummy. One of these trips we will just go there for ice cream, then maybe lunch after if there is room!!

I'm thinking a trip this year just for ice cream might be in the cards.

I chuckled when I saw Mary's comment that the little guy wanted to walk. No point wasting $ on a stroller if the child wants to move! The good think about a slow pace is that you do get the chance to really look around as you walk instead of rushing from one ride to the next.

I would normally agree, except it was hot, crowded and they were newbies and we missed out on a lot that we probably should have gotten done if we'd ahd a stroller.

This is SUCH a great photos. All of the girls will be looking back on this one when they are in their 30's & 40's remembering when. its a real memory!

Thanks!

Hilarious grumpy faces!!!

I could not stop laughing that evening.

You got quite a bit done, two parks and a break in one day too.

We had to with the heat for the girls sake.

aah there's Katie ready for bed (mostly, that girl can waste more time!)

Don't they all do that when it's bedtime?

I'll be back later and maybe will even catch up before you head back for your anniversary.

Can't believe we leave in 3 days.

YAY for another girls trip!:cheer2:

I'm so excited!

Before we move on to our last day, let me tell you two things:

1) My last update...I put it on the wrong day. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Blame it on my haste to get this done before I leave on Friday for Disney or old age, but the Epcot update was actually my last night there. So in the next update, the evening portion of our program will actually be what happened the day before. :rolleyes1

2) I had planned on doing this update over the weekend. But we had a bit of an emergency. We had to rush Cookie to the vet due to an accident. Mark was giving her a hair cut. While he was holding her tail up to clip around her back end, she jerked for some reason and he cut her tail. Let me just say, I've never seen so much blood in my life and almost passed out. They ended up doing emergency surgery on her tail and she is on pain pills, an antibotic and something to keep the swelling down. She is also wearing her "cone of shame" again and I've told Mark he is getting one to wear and he is not getting any Mickey bars after what this cost us.

My poor baby girl:

So, on with the update. We are now on Tuesday, June 11...my last day with the girls (Mary and the girls would be staying until Friday, but I had to fly out early Wednesday morning to get home for some big event in our life).

We were up and at it early. We had a lot to do on our last day. We were going here:

First, we must stop for Photopass pictures:

And just the kids:

From there, we started toward the hub.

While Ryan took the big kids on Space Mountain, we took Cameron over to ride:

After that, Cameron wanted to go on the Carousel again so we did that:

I think Ryan must have gotten fastpasses for Buzz before going on Space Mountain, because we all hit that next.

After that, the group was going on the Peoplemover...all except Sam, Cayley and I. As you may recall, Cameron got his face painted on our AK day and Sam wanted his done. And I promised Miss Cayley that would be a treat from me for her. So off we went while everyone rode the Peoplemover:

From there, we were heading to Adventureland. On the way, we stopped for a Photopass shot of the kids with their faces painted (sorry...but I had to cover Sam):

We stopped for this picture on the way at Adventureland because we had done it the first girls trip:

Up next...what attraction to now?

Poor Cookie! Glad she is okay at least, though that must have been scary when it happened!!

Poor Cookie and even poorer Mark I bet he felt awful!!:hug:See Mark is not like the Boys around her , he doesn't pick on me as shal we say Marv, Dan and Glenn do !!!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:And I am soooo innocent :rotfl2: I loved the face painting !! You looked very intent on Buzz !!!:rotfl2:

Wow, I can't believe it's your last day already! And the girls HAVE grown!! Oh my is right! It's funny because I was looking at your pics and I thought "I wonder when Cayley got her face paint done..." and turns out it was the next day! :rotfl2:

Poor Cookie! They look so sad in the Cone of Shame! I feel Mark's pain though... Grooming animals is not easy!

Looking forward to the rest of your day!

I am so sorry about all that you are going through with your mom. :(

Your day sure was a wet one!!! At least that kept the crowds down, yes?

OH my! The girls have grown. I didn't realize that it has been about year and a half since your last girls trip!!!

Looks like someone got their face painted between having a dessert and going to Mexico! But then... she has it on the last day. I am confused. :rotfl: which is easy to do.

Oh no! Poor Cookie! How scary!!!

We went to France to see a movie. I couldn't believe that the girls had never seen one of the films. Since you can sit through this one, we figured this was our best bet.
I think the movie in France is still the only one I haven't seen yet. Last time I tried to make it there it was already closed. :guilty:

Our fastpasses for Soarin' weren't until 4:30 and we were hot, sweaty and needed a break. So we gave them away. Let me tell you that we had the most ungrateful jerks ever that we gave the fastpasses to. I almost ripped them right back out of their hands.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people don't catch on when we try to spread a little pixie dust. Sounds like you would have been more than justified taking them back and looking for someone else to share them with!

We then walked back to the BCV (best part of staying there...the walk back to our resort). Since the girls did not care for their American Dream, dessert was in order:

Love this face!!! :rotfl:

And that cupcake looks DELISH!!!!! :woohoo:

Avery making Mr. Mark proud:

She might have been posing for Mr. Mark, but this is actually a pretty good look for Avery! :thumbsup2

Before I left on the girls trip, Mark suggested that I try to get the same picture as I did last girls trip with Cayley and Avery.
Wow, the girls are really growing, and changing so much! :goodvibes

Bob Iger announced at D23 today that Figment isn't going anywhere !!!
That man really loves opening himself up to criticism......... :rolleyes1

Poor Cookie........so glad she survived her little ordeal with Mr. Mark! :scared:

It still cracks me up every time I see your pictures with the bowtie! :rotfl2:

Hard to believe your trip is getting so close! I hope you guys have a wonderful anniversary celebration!!! :cheer2:

1) My last update...I put it on the wrong day. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Blame it on my haste to get this done before I leave on Friday for Disney or old age, but the Epcot update was actually my last night there. So in the next update, the evening portion of our program will actually be what happened the day before. :rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl2: Cool! A time-traveling TR!

We had to rush Cookie to the vet due to an accident. Mark was giving her a hair cut. While he was holding her tail up to clip around her back end, she jerked for some reason and he cut her tail.

:scared1:

My poor baby girl:

I do not like the Cone of Shame.

So, on with the update. We are now on Tuesday, June 11.

You sure about that?:confused3:rotfl:

From there, we were heading to Adventureland. On the way, we stopped for a Photopass shot of the kids with their faces painted (sorry...but I had to cover Sam):

Whew...I was worried they had painted a big bow tie on his face.:rotfl2:

Up next...what attraction to now?

Little Mermaid ride?:confused3

1) My last update...I put it on the wrong day. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Blame it on my haste to get this done before I leave on Friday for Disney or old age, but the Epcot update was actually my last night there. So in the next update, the evening portion of our program will actually be what happened the day before. :rolleyes1

Works for me! You put those updates up while I was just a might busy so I’ll be reading and commenting on them backwards anyway.
:lmao:

2) I had planned on doing this update over the weekend. But we had a bit of an emergency. We had to rush Cookie to the vet due to an accident. Mark was giving her a hair cut. While he was holding her tail up to clip around her back end, she jerked for some reason and he cut her tail. Let me just say, I've never seen so much blood in my life and almost passed out. She is also wearing her "cone of shame" again and I've told Mark he is getting one to wear and he is not getting any Mickey bars after what this cost us.

“I do not like the cone of shame…”; poor Cookie (glad that she’s healing)…
No Mickey Bars! Poor Mark…

So, on with the update. We are now on Tuesday, June 11...my last day with the girls (Mary and the girls would be staying until Friday, but I had to fly out early Wednesday morning to get home for some big event in our life).

It’s a harsh reality, but there are actually one or two things more important than Disney (but only one or two mind you).

I think Ryan must have gotten fastpasses for Buzz before going on Space Mountain, because we all hit that next.

Good planning on his part :thumbsup2

We went to France to see a movie. I couldn't believe that the girls had never seen one of the films. Since you can sit through this one, we figured this was our best bet.

A/C, a decent cushioned seat and no crowd…
Even if you just sleep through the film, that’s a good pace to rest the weary.

Our fastpasses for Soarin' weren't until 4:30 and we were hot, sweaty and needed a break. So we gave them away. Let me tell you that we had the most ungrateful jerks ever that we gave the fastpasses to. I almost ripped them right back out of their hands.

Ungrateful tourists… at Disney… for shame…
:sad2:

We then walked back to the BCV (best part of staying there...the walk back to our resort). Since the girls did not care for their American Dream, dessert was in order:

Well… desert is always in order (just not always justifiable)

We went up to the room and you'll never guess what happened. The skies opened up on us.

Afternoon rain in Florida? Unheard of.
Y’all timed your return to the resort rather well.

Up next, my last day at the World with the girls

Or not…
If I remember correctly, this is all out of order anyway.
Not to mention, you’ll be compelled to go back with them sometime in the near
(“Search your feelings… you know it to be true.”)

1) My last update...I put it on the wrong day. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Blame it on my haste to get this done before I leave on Friday for Disney or old age, but the Epcot update was actually my last night there. So in the next update, the evening portion of our program will actually be what happened the day before. :rolleyes1
Well, at least you're writing updates, even if they're not in the right order. That's better than some. :rolleyes1

We had to rush Cookie to the vet due to an accident. Mark was giving her a hair cut. While he was holding her tail up to clip around her back end, she jerked for some reason and he cut her tail.
Poor Cookie!

She is also wearing her "cone of shame" again and I've told Mark he is getting one to wear and he is not getting any Mickey bars after what this cost us.
Poor Mark!!! It was just an accident. And it was half her fault. She's the one who jerked. I guess she's going to be awfully furry from now on, because it doesn't seem like it is in Mark's best interest to ever cut her hair again. :rotfl2:

Looks like a good time at the MK. I like that you tried to recreate past photos of the girls like the one at Spaceship Earth (whichever night that was, I'm confused at this point) and the one at Adventureland. :thumbsup2
