Girls Trip One More Time...Final Plans, The End 5/23

This update will not have a lot of pictures and there is a reason for that.

Today is Tuesday, June 3, and we are headed here:

(picture taken from internet)

I've not been here since the last time both of our boys were with us and that was in 2000! :scared1:

I'm sure we'll be chilling here:

(picture taken from internet)

And doing this:

(picture taken from internet)

I'm sure the girls...the YOUNG girls...will be doing more than that, but I'm not sure how much Mary and I will do. I'll do the family tube ride, but the rest of the slides aren't for this older woman.

We'll probably grab lunch somewhere at Typhoon Lagoon. Any ideas? I was thinking we'd probably end up at Leaning Palms?

After our day at Typhoon Lagoon, we will head back to Old Key West to change clothes. Then we will take a boat ride to Downtown Disney.

We have an ADR here:

And I am sure us adults may partake in one of these:

While we enjoy some of this:

And some of this:

After dinner, I am sure we will do some shopping.

And trying on some hats for Mr. Mark

Maybe we will stop for dessert:

Then the boat back to Old Key West where we will hit the sack after a long day.

Up next, you can never see enough wild animals

The day sounds perfect. We have yet to visit the water parks, I know the boys would love them. Great plans! :)

What a lovely day! I haven't been to the water parks in a while either. They are fun, but there is just so much to do that I'd rather spend pool time in the resort pool, especially when staying at a new (to me) resort, you know? I'm sure that you and the girls will have a great time!

fun fun fun! Claire has recently asked about going to the waterparks. I might have to break down and take her one of these times.

Rather than Space, then Peter Pan and then Big Thunder, she got Big Thunder, Space Mountain, lunch break and then we will see Elsa and Anna. We originally had this on our last day, but Mary made it earlier in the trip when she was able to get a time (and I'm happy as I was afraid I was going to miss it on our last day if they were running late because I have to be back for the Unmagical Express).
I'm glad you're going to be able to see them. I hope it isn't such a mad house around them by the time we go. :crazy2:

We have a dinner ADR for this evening at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic packgage. I've not been there since 2008 with Mark and am really looking forward to going back.
You'll probably hate it.

I typically enjoy it. :lmao:

I've not been here since the last time both of our boys were with us and that was in 2000! :scared1:
I haven't been there since my mom was pulled out of that wave pool by a lifeguard sometime back in the 90's. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

And trying on some hats for Mr. Mark
:thumbsup2

A day at a waterpark! :woohoo: I love "lazy" rivers, I could float around all day and not get bored!:beach:

Raglan Road looks like so much fun! When we went they set us back in an alcove away from the entertainment by ourselves... unless you count the flies that kept us company.:lmao: It was a shame. The food was one of the best meals we had, but DH will not go back because the atmosphere ruined his meal. He is convinced that he didn't like the food, but I have a trip report that says he did.;)

The girls' hat pics are adorable!

I also have not been to Typhoon Lagoon since 2000! In 2001 we did go to Blizzard Beach, but I would have to be with a big group that WANTED to go there to go back. Although lazing on a lounge chair on the "beach" is not too bad a way to spend the day. Your nighttime plans are much more to my liking lol! Big girl drinks, food, Irish Dancing, and shopping! What is not to like?

We've never done the water parks...did Discovery Cove back in 2011 though which was fun...we might go this next trip since we are with friends, I can just float the river with my friend while her DH takes the kids to the big stuff :thumbsup2

yay for a fun day at DTD...will be interesting to see you photos of the changes made since last trip.

Playing catch up again!

The day at TL sounds awesome. These parks are so much fun. I won't be much help with the food as nothing really stood out for us - I think we had lunch at Typhoon Tilly's.

Kathy, I guess those young ladies love ice-cream - they sell a "sand pail" full of ice cream

Sand Pail - Chocolate and Vanilla Soft-serve Ice Cream, Waffle Cone Pieces, Cookie Pieces, Sprinkles, Hot Fudge, Caramel Sauce, Strawberry Sauce, Whipped Cream and a Cherry

at Happy Landings - great for sharing! ;)

Downtown Disney and RR are a perfect choice! Only 5 more weeks for you! :cheer2:

Awesome pre-trip report! Our trip is during that exact same time frame. We will be at Hollywood Studios late in the afternoon on June 2nd, maybe we will see you there! Look for the Renfroes!

While I have never been to one of the water parks... I think it looks like a lot of fun. I am not sure I would venture down the slides...but I do think the lazy river looks pretty relaxing. :cloud9:

I never took the boat to DTD from OKW. From..POR/POFQ,yes.... I guess the dock is over near the hospitality house?

Looks like a fun day! We talk about water parks, but our trips are often too short to take a day for it. Maybe next year when we have APs and can go more!!

I'd like to try Raglan Road someday too! Is that the Bailey's shake?? I would be all over that!!

Finally made it over here and have caught up with your PTR. As we discussed on my TR, we should try for a DISmeet since we will be at WDW the same week y'all are going. With your plans so far, it could be either Monday at DHS or Tuesday at DTD. Once you have finished the rest of the week, we will see what we can schedule if y'all have time.

I have seen this shirt and all I know is if I got one and although is is true, DW would be wondering what I've done!!

Like I said, it's been a long time since I've been to one. I'm sure we'll have a blast! And I know your boys would love it.

Krysten, thank you. That's how Mark and I feel as two adults; quiet pool more our style. But I'm looking forward to watching the girls have fun.

fun fun fun! Claire has recently asked about going to the waterparks. I might have to break down and take her one of these times.

Yes, I'm sure you will. They are fun; just too many stairs for me for those slides.

I'm glad you're going to be able to see them. I hope it isn't such a mad house around them by the time we go. :crazy2:

I have a feeling this is not going to die down anytime soon.

You'll probably hate it.

I typically enjoy it. :lmao:

I've always enjoyed my meals there, so I might just surprise you.

I haven't been there since my mom was pulled out of that wave pool by a lifeguard sometime back in the 90's. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

What? What the heck happened?

:thumbsup2

Someone has to do it in Mark's absence.

A day at a waterpark! :woohoo: I love "lazy" rivers, I could float around all day and not get bored!:beach:

Mark is a huge lover of lazy rivers. I can't be in the water that long...I get pruney. :lmao::lmao:

Raglan Road looks like so much fun! When we went they set us back in an alcove away from the entertainment by ourselves... unless you count the flies that kept us company.:lmao: It was a shame. The food was one of the best meals we had, but DH will not go back because the atmosphere ruined his meal. He is convinced that he didn't like the food, but I have a trip report that says he did.;)

I'm sorry you didn't have a more enjoyable time there. Usually they bring an individual dancer over to the hidden spots.

The girls' hat pics are adorable!

Thanks. :)

I think we went to BB once which was probably back in 1998 would be my guess. It was okay, but I've never been one to do those slides and those are a lot more steep than the ones at TL if I remember correctly. I'm sure I'll need that adult beverage by the evening.

We've never done the water parks...did Discovery Cove back in 2011 though which was fun...we might go this next trip since we are with friends, I can just float the river with my friend while her DH takes the kids to the big stuff :thumbsup2

I still want to do Discovery Cove; Mark and I are thinking of 2016. I like that idea...let the man take the kids! :rotfl2:

yay for a fun day at DTD...will be interesting to see you photos of the changes made since last trip.

It will be fun to see how they've grown compared to that first girls' trip.

Playing catch up again!

I know the feeling, Karin.

The day at TL sounds awesome. These parks are so much fun. I won't be much help with the food as nothing really stood out for us - I think we had lunch at Typhoon Tilly's.

Thanks; I'll look at their menu.

What girls? MARY....I think you and I should be sharing this (but no strawberry sauce for me.

Downtown Disney and RR are a perfect choice! Only 5 more weeks for you! :cheer2:

Yes, 5 weeks from tonight at this time we'll probably be heading back to the resort after a day at the MK.

Awesome pre-trip report! Our trip is during that exact same time frame. We will be at Hollywood Studios late in the afternoon on June 2nd, maybe we will see you there! Look for the Renfroes!

Alan, that sounds great. We should exchange cell phone numbers before we leave!

While I have never been to one of the water parks... I think it looks like a lot of fun. I am not sure I would venture down the slides...but I do think the lazy river looks pretty relaxing. :cloud9:

One slide is probably all I will be able to handle; the lazy river is definitely more up my alley.

I never took the boat to DTD from OKW. From..POR/POFQ,yes.... I guess the dock is over near the hospitality house?

Yes, as you walk towards the path to go to the pool, etc. it is right there before you make the left turn towards the Gurgling Suitcase, pool, etc.

Looks like a fun day! We talk about water parks, but our trips are often too short to take a day for it. Maybe next year when we have APs and can go more!!

I hope you do...the girls will probably enjoy.

I'd like to try Raglan Road someday too! Is that the Bailey's shake?? I would be all over that!!

Yes, that is the Bailey's Shake and I totally understand being "all over it"...I have at least one every trip.

Bill, I would love that! Let's work that out when I finish the rest of our days. I have 2-1/2 more days left to do.

I have seen this shirt and all I know is if I got one and although is is true, DW would be wondering what I've done!!

I think that would probably be true of all wives. I ordered the wife's version and it is on it's way to me. Mark and I will wear our matching shirts during our September/October trip.

I'm sure the girls...the YOUNG girls...will be doing more than that, but I'm not sure how much Mary and I will do. I'll do the family tube ride, but the rest of the slides aren't for this older woman.

I'm with you on this one Kathy; I am pretty fearless when it comes to a coaster or thrill ride, but waterslides are not something I find all that fun in my "older" age. Besides, I have seen one too many top or bottoms floating at the surface of the water after someone goes down a slide and hits the water... I'd rather not take the chance that fate may fall upon me. :rotfl2:

Hi Kathy! I'm caught up with your day 3, 4, and 5 plans!

I hope you like Kona for dinner. If you are a bread fan I think you'll be pleased with their bread/butter service. :thumbsup2

A day at the waterpark should be fun. Michael wants to visit a waterpark so I think this trip I'll choose TL since Em and I went to BB last summer. I don't like the big water slides. I don't like to feel like my britches are going to arrive after I do if I go down one of those.

How's Mark doing? All's well post op? :goodvibes

I remember when you first posted this picture and thinking it was the cutest picture on earth! I think it still is!

Denny and I did BB in October. The family raft ride was awesome. We did a few of the other slides, too until my neck couldn't take it anymore. Yup - getting old definitely impacts the fun at BB!

Brenda, I hear you on that one. I've seen it more times than once where the person is waiting for something to arrive at the bottom or looking for it floating at the top. :lmao: Not gonna happen to this old guy. :rotfl:

Your definitely need to go to discovery cove! It's so pretty and relaxing!! We lived to food options too and of course our time with the dolphins!

Have a great weekend !!!!
