Deep Purples:
Sally Hansen 92 "Deeply Violet" (eggplant with a shimmer)
OPI "Black Cherry Chutney" (more of a deep plum color)

Ooooo.... I think I need that Black Cherry color......

OMG, I love Halloween and all, but those look like someone got their hand caught in the car door.

I was thinking it looked like something you see on a crime show.....

OPI Black Cherry Chutney
I found a photo of this color applied to nails, but they looked black, too! I hate how hard it is to tell colors on the computer...

Yeah - I think I need that!

Set back? awww...they advertise being ON the strip. Oh well, at least it is vegas.

I found out yesterday that my grandpa has tumors all over his lungs, ribs, clavicle, and esophagus :sad1: My mom is on a flight to Oregon as I type to be with them. Today the doctor was going to inform them if there is anything they can do. Grandpa was complaining of pain and the doctors kept saying it was something else - so basically, they have wasted time and the cancer is pretty advanced. I am waiting to hear from my mom on the results of today's visit. *sigh* way too much stuff going on now....

Hugs on your grandfather.... That sucks. On Polo Towers - it's "set back like "has a small strip mall on the street front, but the hotel is behind that. It's ON the strip, but the front door is not on the street. Make sense? Kinda like the ticket booths at DL are not on the street, but you can see them from the street.

Maybe it's because that person had their privacy set to "friends of friends", but it's so annoying to see all these strange posts and photos and have to think, wait, do I know that person??? LOL

I think that's what's causing a lot of the weird stuff showing up. It wasn't an issue to have a friends of friends setting until it started posting all that stuff.

Oh, and before I forget, thank you Jess for my new Halloween inspired name tag in my signature!! I love it! :goodvibes

LOVE the new name tag!!!!

Unfortunately, if you all do decide on October 22 I won't be able to come. That's the weekend some of us will be in Disneyland...... I guess maybe next time :upsidedow
I couldn't, either - My weekend with my kids. :)
And I have plans the next weekend, too. Although... I just ran through the calendar, and almost every (kid-free) weekend is booked for me through December! :guilty:

I've kinda lurked on the Diva trip board for awhile now and am considering joining. When's the latest I could join and any advice for a newbie to the trip? I read all the stuff on the first page, but I'm kind of nervous on how everything works.

Oh and speaking of you, yesterday Laila was telling Adara how she met Wendy at Disneyland. Here's the conversation:

Laila: "Sissy, I met Wendy at Disneyland!"
Adara: "Oh really, Wendy from Peter Pan?"
Laila: "No, Wendy mommy's friend."
That is sooo adorable! :lmao:

Waving from the east side of Northagte, in Robla.....

You hang out here and chat and get to know everyone. You show up in February. LOL! It's a group thing, but also a lot of "do your own thing". There are organized parts of the weekend, like the meet and greet, the scavenger hunt, group photos. We do meals together for those who want to. Nothing is "required". Last year was my first trip and it was a TON of FUN!

Welcome!! The Meet-n-Greet on Thursday evening is a great way to meet the ladies you'll be spending the weekend with. It's a lot of fun with food, drinks, a gift exchange, games, etc.

Coming in & chatting on the thread will help you find other gals that share some of the same interests as you......so when you arrive, you can hook up with them & already feel like you're friends.

There were a lot of new gals (me included) last trip & I think everyone had fun!! There are a ton of new gals already signed up for this next trip....so you won't be alone!!

The meals are a fun way to sit & talk & get to know people, the Scavy Hunt is a few hours of running, laughing, panicking, etc that will give you time to bond with your teammates, the group pics & rides are always fun. Lots of "individual" time where small groups will hang out & do rides & shows they have interests in.

You'll have a ball & joining in on all the different things is optional. You can pick & chose what you're interested in. I hope you'll stick around & chat....I know you'll feel more comfortable in making a decision in joining us!!

THanks everyone for the hugs and happy thoughts :goodvibes

My son got his permit yesterday and I took him to a nice empty parking lot so he could drive. He loved it and did pretty well, although I was holding on to the door handle most of the time. How did 15 years go by so fast? :sad2:
:rotfl: scary! Try not to get any grey hairs ;)

Tomorrow is picture day at my school and I am not looking forward to dressing up. I just want to wear sweats and lounge at home all day. Tomorrow is also my Brydon's 7th birthday! He asked for a kareoke (spelling?! lol) machine and that's what we bought him - along with a Phineas and Ferb kareoke cd to go with it. Tomorrow night should be fun!

My DH is asking for a Chinchilla for his birthday next month. Does anyone have any experience with them?

My sister in law has her permit.. actually, she just turned 18 and we are looking into getting her liscense.. OMG. Scary stuff. We went to WINCO on night and she drove... then we drove to ALbertsons afterwards..We were passing a cop, and the cophit his lights right as we passed.. Not to pull us over, but it it scared the crap out of her. She was so thrown by the whole thing, and we drove around a curve.... she forgot to curve with it.. and we almost went into a light pole.. then drive us up in a curb as she turned the corner... and forgot to put the car in park at the grocery store and got out with the car still MOVING. :scared1::scared1::scared1: OMG. All within about a half mile. I drove us home. I just cant bring myself to get her a liscense. it scares the crap out of me the idea of her riding in the car with other kids.. In MY car.. Or god forbid... MY kids!!
:scared1: I don't think my blood pressure can handle my kid's driving!

Date number one was a bust-o-rama. Ugh. Wasn't expecting anything great, but jeez I would've settled for average.
You'll have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince, but you will. Never settle!

I forgot to look for the monkey bride when we rode it, but speaking of monkey bride....well you'll see....
There is no monkey bride..... :rolleyes1

LOVE the new name tag!!!!
Jess did a great job! I just found a clip art I liked and she did the rest!! I am most happy with it.

It does sound fun! Enjoy singing!

Ok, not the scary nails.....how about the tie dyed halloween nails??

100_1094.jpg

(cause I know how much tie-dyed is loved around here) :rotfl2:

Love these. Might practice on my toes.

Scary but this sounds like one of my first drives with my dad. I think I ended up a pretty good driver. I have been hit by other people three times but I only hit another car once in the last twenty some odd years and that car was parked. My daughter never got her license of permit she is 18 now and has no desire. My son will be 15 1/2 this november I am hoping my brother will take him driving.

this will be my first year and I think it will be so much fun hope you will come.

We loved our chinchilla. (he is no longer with us:sad1:) Pretty easy to take care of. They don't do will in the heat but we always kept our house in the 70;s during summer months. They don't smell like some other small pets. They are so soft and ours would let us hold him-he never bit us would eat raisins for treats out of our hands.

Hi there! And welcome to the group. Don't be nervous. It's a lot of fun.

The latest you could join is really right up until we leave! lol But in order to sign up for meals and such, you should really have a decision made by sometimes in December at the latest. That way you are sure to get in on all the fun.

The only advice I'd offer is to just jump right in. Don't be shy, or nervous. It's a great group and you won't regret it.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask here, or to send me a PM. I'm on here every day, and happy to go over anything and everything with you. :)

The one with the Rainforest Cafe is Westfield Mall in Southcenter. Oct. 22nd is a Saturday. That would work great for me. Lunch at the Rainforest Cafe would be a lot of fun I haven't been there in years. Does that date work for other Diva's that will be in the PNW at the time? Any particular time of day that works best for everyone?

Hooray, tomorrow is Friday!!!

Oh right, Southcenter! Is West Lake the one that is downtown Seattle?

Happy Thursday, Divas!!

Unfortunately, if you all do decide on October 22 I won't be able to come. That's the weekend some of us will be in Disneyland...... I guess maybe next time :upsidedow
I had forgotten about that! Are there any other dates you could do? I am gone Nov 5 - 16 for WDW and probably couldn't do the weekend right before or after but am up for most other weekends.
I couldn't, either - My weekend with my kids. :)
And I have plans the next weekend, too. Although... I just ran through the calendar, and almost every (kid-free) weekend is booked for me through December! :guilty:
Bummer! Is there anything that you can reschedule or that will only take up your evening and not your afternoon? Or are you like me and this will basically be an all day event if you include the drive time?

How about the rest of you PNW/Lower BC Divas?

I am very glad it is friday...I am hopeful that my escrow company can tell me where my check is...you know...the one with the proceeds from the sale of my house so that I can buy my new house and pay for the furniture and appliances I bought! :scared1: Yup, it seems to have gone missing. Ugh.

Later Divas!

Oh, and just so you know, even if we do plan a bigger diva event for that location, I will still be there on Oct 22 as my dh is heading to Seattle for a lifting competition and I would be happy to meet up. If you are leary of meeting up with just one diva, Beth, Jane, Vicki, Cheryl, Linda, Steph, etc can all vouch for me!

Later,

Good morning, ladies!! TGIFF!!! Thank Goodness It's Finally Friday!

I have been up since 5. Made some stuff for Ruben to take into work for a coworkers last day. Did some cleaning. Got the twin's off to school.
Now I have laundry, more cleaning, and more baking. I'm baking pumpkin bars and banana cake. Making some dips, too.

Tomorrow is Noelle's first homecoming dance, and she has some friends coming over to hang out and get ready here. They are also bringing their moms to help them get ready! So I need to have something yummy to offer them all.

After the dance, everyone will come back here for a sleepover so it's going to be a busy day tomorrow. Especially since before any of that even begins, I'll be going down to the Strip to have breakfast with Melody.
Gonna be a busy weekend! :cool1:

I was going to say something snotty and sarcastic, just because that's how I am :rolleyes1 , but I just can't. Sarah really is the best. ::yes::

I could go basically any other weekend, so if another weekend works for everyone else, I'm there! I'll cross my fingers the cheque shows up - that's gotta suck!

True dat ::yes::

Have fun baking, say hi to Melody for me, and have a great time getting ready for the dance. You can do it :cheer2:

Good Morning

 Hi to all of the ladies that have joined the group.

 Jen and Wendy.

I wish I was able to get on here more. Lots going on lately.

The Air Force has changed their mind and decided to have me go through a medical board to determine if I am still fit to stay in the Air Force. Good news is that I have served over 15 years now so they have 2 options: a - let me stay in w/ provisions as to what I can do and where I can be stationed, or b -medically retire me and I get to keep my benefits.

Also I'm moving to a new section (staying here in CA) this coming month. With this new job I will be staying in CA for at least 3 more years (as long as I'm not medically retired).

Kids are all doing well and keeping Josh and I on our feet lately.

I am ready for the weekend. I hope you all have a great weekend. :goodvibes

Thank you all for the warm welcome! :goodvibes The trip sounds like a lot of fun and I'd love to find other gals who are into Disneyland as much as I am, so I think I will definitely hang around and see what happens.

Waving from the east side of Northagte, in Robla.....

We're only a couple exits away from each other! I'm off Truxel!

Tomorrow is Noelle's first homecoming dance, and she has some friends coming over to hang out and get ready here. They are also bringing their moms to help them get ready! So I need to have something yummy to offer them all.

I totally miss all the fun of getting ready with girlfriends before a school dance! I hope she has a great time!

I love it too!

Jen, sorry to hear about your grandpa. :sad2: :flower3::hug:

Katie, I have my fingers and monkey toes crossed for you!

...speaking of monkeys, anyway spot the monkey bride, yet? Make sure y'all say "hi" to her for me, if you'll be there for the overlay at the Haunted Mansion!

Date number one was a bust-o-rama. Ugh. Wasn't expecting anything great, but jeez I would've settled for average.

Hope everyone is having a super day! :goodvibes

Wendy, I just noticed your ticker...I didn't realize the race was so soon! Good luck! It's the one where firemen give you Tiffany's necklaces at the end, right?

Love these. Might practice on my toes.

I had my nails done like this in Christmas colors once. The lady at the nail shop put drops of color on the top of a shot glass filled with water and swirled them with a tooth pick and then layed my finger on top. The polish gets on the finger a little bit but she said it was the best way to get a swirled design.

Me too! I can vouch for you, if you want me to ;)

See you in November!!

Are there any other dates that would work well? Most of my Saturdays are wide open so I am flexible. Throw out some other dates and we'll see what we can make work for everyone.

Oh right, Southcenter! Is West Lake the one that is downtown Seattle?

Yes it is. It looks like they used to have a Disney Store there but sadly it's gone like so many others.

I would love to meet up with you, if we can't get a big group together for that day we could still plan something fun.

I'm so glad it's Friday, but it's going to be a busy weekend. Tonight we have a fireworks show for a homecoming, it's a small show but it's hand lit so I love it, it really gets the adrenaline going.
Saturday night I am meeting up with an old friend who will be in town, that should be a good time and lots of laughs.
Sunday the Seahawk's have a home game, I sure hope they do a little better this week.

Take care everyone!

Thanks! I think she will have fun. Afterward a couple of them are spending the night here so it should be an....interesting weekend. Lots of girlie giggles going on, I bet.
