Just got home from work and dropping in Hope everyone has a good day. Must go do some PTR work right now. Fun times. Can it be September yet?

Oh my gosh, We have a deal . Laundry almost does itself and you have a dishwasher right? Sounds like a plan to me. You know you have a great idea --Friends go to other friends homes and so chores they like doing then that other friend does one that is not enjoyed. Get 5-6 people and bam-- house work all done. Wishful thinking I know . Oh well back to the drawing board.

Hi Divas!!

Been adjusting to the 2 older boys moving out.....makes for some long days for me. The twins went back to their specialized preschool, so I get a few hours to try & get things done. My biggest complaint about them going during the summer is, The bus picks them up at 8:10am!!! Ugh, don't want to be functioning that early........

Slowly but surely getting donations for the Autism Speaks Walk-Oregon. Fundraising is not one of my top things to do. Pretty limited on who I can ask, especially since I'm housebound 95% of the time. But I still have over a month to pull it all together.

Tomorrow morning we're driving up to Portland to meet Kelly, her daughters & her mom at the zoo!! Should be fun.....just hoping the weather stays dry. Carol might even meet up with us......so woo hoo......mini meet!!!

Hoping those traveling or traveling soon have great trips!!! For those stuck at home this summer......I feel your pain!!

Take lots of pictures Laurie when you are dis-ing at the zoo. I know that is asking a lot of you -- Ya right you are my "picture taking Moma -hero". You do such a good job recording your trips with pictures I feel like I went on the vacation with you and family. I wish I would have remembered the zoo gathering. I would have tried to go and visit for an hour or so.

That sure is early for the twins. Why so early? The nice thing is they pick up and deliver after school. When in Hawaii if husband needs to take Handivan during a time the special school is picking up kids or taking them home husbands requests are put last -- the kids come first -- as it should be . We have ridden with the children a few times. I am always amazed how well minded they are, how they keep track of their stop, and how kind the kids are. Some of the "Kids" are later teens.

How far are you walking for the fund raiser? Is it a certain amount for each mile or a set amount for the whole walk? If you can PM me I would be pleased to send a contribution. I will need to know who to make check out to and address to send to and your name if that needs to go on contribution.

Ok better get some stuff done around here. I have been lazy most of day.

Oh one last thing I tried that sweetener stevia. It is not bad at all. So much better then those other non -sugar sweeteners. I made some lemonade tastes pretty good. Not as good as that good ole sugar but respectful. I am thinking about adding 1/4 Newman's lemonade (my favorite) to 3/4 the lemonade I made. I do 6 dialysis treatments a day and each treatment averages 250-350 extra calories so 1500 2,100 extra calories per day. I am usually not hungry as I get fueled by the treatments but would sure like to lose the 20-25 pounds that this has put on me. Anyway enough of my complaining.

It is pretty scary, but I don't want to go into too many details here or on FB. But I've been going to the doctor twice a week since May for a pretty serious condition. I actually have to thank Adara or things could have been fatal .

She asked me to give blood during a blood drive so she could get a free Chipotle burrito. Well a couple weeks later they called me saying I needed to see the doctor right away because they found something wrong with my blood.

Long story short, I'm very blessed that it was caught as soon as it was. I have a 5 hour appointment next week for one of my final evaluations to see if I'm in the clear or have to go for another couple months of treatment .

You guys have fun at the zoo tomorrow. I hope Carol makes it. Bree and I went to the San Diego zoo on Sat. It was such a zoo - pun intended! So many people. I guess crowds are everywhere in July, it is summer afterall.

Patty - I like Stevia in the Raw. It's really good and tastes far better than any other Stevia I have tried. I do like Splenda syrups in my coffee - and Diet Pepsi with Splenda is yummy Sugar-free is that way I have to be (hee hee!).

Going to be another hot one here today. 105. Ugh. Lots of places are having a heat wave right now. We've been doing lots of indoor activities. Thank goodness for Red Box and dollar movies!

My daughter and her friend went to see Winnie-the-Pooh today. I am still not a fan. Tigger is cool though.

I just bought a cute Winnie the Pooh teddy-bear and bib set for my soon to be first grandchild (yikes!!). We don't know if it's a boy or girl, so I thought that would do either way. Jesse used to *be* Tigger when he was a little guy. He would literally hop everywhere he went - very funny (and way too much energy!)

Just wanted to drop in and say hi!

Just a little less than two weeks and we will be back in California. Not having a lot of fun right now as we prepare for our departure. Plus, I'm still looking for work. I've had a handful of interviews and one video interview, but no second round conversations. Anyway, it's pretty frustrating and demoralizing. But I will perservere! Fortunately, my DH got a job last week.

@Capri: Hang in there! We've got to stick with this job hunt stuff and keep the faith!

@Katie: Sending lots of pixie dust and healthy wishes your way!

We recently rented Rango, Red Riding Hood, and Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and they were okay, but nothing great.

I want to see Rango, that is too bad it wasn't very good. I love just about every Johnny Depp flick....well, except for Don Jaun DeMarco, I had to turn that awful movie off. I think my favorite may be Crybaby because it was so stupid-funny.

Well, my DH is definitely not going with me next week. He could not get the day off of work. I get after him all the time because everytime we plan vacations he waits till the last minute to request the vacation day. This happened with Yosemite, but his boss was able to give him the day, but not this time.

In looking around at prices, it was much more cost efficient to get the Costco 4-day ph for Tahoe and add an extra day to our original plans. So now we are arriving Sunday and staying through Wednesday. I called the hotel where we made reservations to add the extra day and now they are offering a lower rate than when I originally booked and will not lower my rates. Is that normal? I argued with the lady a bit and she gave me the lower rate for the night I was adding and lowered the original rate by $5 for the second night, but will not lower the rate for the last night. So strange.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes . I'm sure everything will turn out just fine (always good to be positive). It was just a reality check that I need to get my affairs in order because if something does happen to me, I need to make sure the kids are taken care of!!!

I'm good Same thing, now that I'm moving past being "overwhelmed", just doing what I need to do and follow up with the doc (which is so not my favorite thing in the world. Funny, I've worked in healthcare for over 20 years now and I just hate going to the doctor!!).

Yikes on the Granny! It just hit me that my son will be turning 16 this year and going into grade 11, Frank and I have been married for 20 years eek, and I'm going to be a grandma. Wow, when the heck did life pass me by

Good thing is I feel more like Chippendales and Disney and prune juice and rocking chairs - although Jesse might disagree

It wasn't bad, definitely worth watching. We watched Unknown last night and it was good. Had a nice twist in it which I like. Plus for some reason I have a weird crush on Liam Neeson.

I'm sorry your DH couldn't get the time off. That is a bummer.
As for that hotel, I'd be very upset. I'm assuming you asked to speak to the manager? I'd cancel and rebook, or threaten to go elsewhere. I don't understand why they couldn't give you the lower rate.
I have a hotel in mind that I want to book for our family DL trip next summer, but I have to call and ask them if I book it now, almost a year out, and the prices go down between now and then, will I get the lower rate. If not, I might just wait and not book anything yet.
