Just an FYI for those ladies who are eager to try the new Paradise Garden Grill, but will have to wait until our trip in February to do so.

I found two websites with some good pics to give you more of an idea what they offer. Yes, we've all read the menu, but I like a good visual to go along with it. ;)
So far, it all looks good to me! I'm excited we are getting to add new places to our schedule for Feb. :)

Sorry, I had to have posted at least 10 posts to post a link to my photo and I was at 8 posts, so I had to create two before this one. *snort*

Donny and Marie Osmond brought their Las Vegas show to Toronto for a couple of weeks. You could buy a ticket where you could meet them (I got hugs! :rotfl:) talk to them, get autographs etc. I sat in the front row. It wasn't as good as a Donny concert, it was more of a variety show, but still good.

July%2012%202011.png

What a great picture ! I still think Donny is cute.

Add me to the list of people who don't/won't fly. The last time I flew was when Sarah was 6 months old and we went to Illinois. It didn't bother me then but now just the thought of it turns my stomach.

I'm kinda sorta thinking that I'll come for the whole trip rather than arriving Friday night. The M&G sounds too fun to miss. Somebody talk me into it.

What do have planned for your new sewing machine? :goodvibes

I have a Bernina, which I do love! They are quite pricey though.:scared1: I bought mine when I got married some years ago,, so it didn't hurt as much. LOL.
I typically make breast feeding covers, tissue holders, and blankets; but I just found a pattern for a super cute reversable skirt that I want to make for myself.
reversableskirt.jpg
The girl who made this skirt tutorial is named Disney! So cute!
Last year my mom bought me a Bernina cause my Brother sewing machine was in the shop then (and needs to go back now, grrrr). The Bernina is so difficult to use, at least for me, since I was self taught with an electric machine. Bernina's require a lot of patience and I have none :rotfl: Someone asked and I forgot to respond, my mom bought me the Singer Stylist.

So this is the first time ever I am missing the midnight release of Harry Potter (and the last one too...poo!) :sad1: We ended up buying tickets for the early bird show tomorrow morning. So help me, if someone posts spoilers or what have you on facebook they will have my rath to deal with :cool2: All our HP gear is ready to go! I cannot wait!

So I am planning to eat pretty healthy during our trip by cooking and making some meals in our room. If anyone is interested in joining me let me know! My DH says I am good cook...

Jen, I'm bummed not to be going tonight too. But tomorrow is one of 2 shifts I cannot miss at work and I start at 5a. No way was it going to happen. Sigh. I am going first thing Saturday though. But I also have to see Winnie the Pooh (and if I see it this weekend I get double the DMR points .... hmph).

Really?! We may have to go see it too then. I hate Pooh, but love my DMR points. We are saving up for the backstage tour.

Thanks for the links Beth. I can't remember if you posted this one, but last week's Dateline Disneyland update on Mice Chat had a pretty good review: http://micechat.com/blogs/dateline-...ting-fourth-july-buena-vista-street-more.html Lots of photos of the seating area, menus, and food were included.
No, I hadn't seen that. Thanks for posting the link. It was fun to read through and see all the updates! I can't wait until next summer when everything opens. It's going to be a zoo, but I'm excited to take the kids back there. :cool1:

Donny is cute! I saw him on an episode of The Love Boat when I was 9 or 10, and had the biggest crush! I wrote "I love Donny" on a notebook paper and hid it in my jewelry box in my room, but my mom found it and demanded to know who Donny was. I was so embarrassed!! :rotfl2:

You simply must come for the whole trip!! Come on, Trudi, you are my partner in going nuts over all things spooky, creepy and Halloween. This theme is going to be right up our alley!! You know if you miss it, you'll be kicking yourself. And that hurts. So just come. :thumbsup2

No HP spoilers from me. I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the movies. :rolleyes1

Okay, I have to say my hat is off to you for trying to be healthy while at Disney and cooking in your room! :worship: :worship:
I am weak, with no will power, and simply could not go to DL and resist the draw of pomme frites, corn dogs, loaded baked potato soup, and of course I can't wait to try the Hungry Bear sandwich. And I have to have a Mickey rice krispy treat. Nope, no will power at all. :sad2: Oh, and the sourdough soup bowl. Gosh, it's pathetic how much I look forward to Disney's food!!

I hate Pooh, but love my DMR points. We are saving up for the backstage tour.
 *gasp*!! Did you say you hate Pooh?????

I thought I was the only one!!! :lmao: Maybe hate is too strong a word, but I honestly have never been a Winnie-the-Pooh fan. It's more like I could take it or leave it. The whole story and the characters never appealed to me very much. :confused3

Really?! We may have to go see it too then. I hate Pooh, but love my DMR points. We are saving up for the backstage tour.

How can you hate Pooh?! Hehe ;) But yeah, I got an email about it and if you have your stubs from opening weekend you can get up to 400 points instead of the normal 200 points. I need to find friends who are going and wouldn't mind handing over their tickets to go because I only have little old me and that doesn't add up very fast. I'm not even saving up for anything in particular. That backstage tour would be very very nice but I don't think I'll ever get there on my own. I like the Jim Shore figures though, lol.

What a great photo!! Is that you with Donny? (I'm guessing the answer is yes, but I don't want to assume anything. :rotfl: If it is you, look how pretty you are! I love your glasses, too. ) Sounds like a fun show! Yay for getting hugs. :thumbsup2

Yes that's me with Donny Osmond. And in case anyone is wondering, I'm not smirking, that just seems to mytypical picture smile LOL.

I will go back and check front page again. I guess I just keep missing T link.

Cheers!

Heather, it's on the first page, third post down, under the schedule and the list of t-shirt colors. It's only a small photo with a rather rough image of the old Disneyland sign, but instead of saying Disneyland, I believe we are changing the wording to DISDivaland.
Melody/tinkermell's son is going to take that image and make it into something wonderfully retro and fun for our hot pink group tees.

Let me know if you don't see it and I will repost it here for you. :)

OK I see it now. Sorry I was looking for an image of a T shirt. It's lovely!

Not to be a pain, but is there any copyright issues with the image being similar to anything Disney owns?

In Toronto, Disney and WB come down pretty hard on people who make anything, even when not for sale, if the image is too close to something copyright, even if it's a fan group promoting/supporting like shirts etc.

I think it will be okay. If we were taking it to a shop, or submitting it to Zazzle, Cafe Press, etc. then there might be an issue. But making it this way, it should be fine. In fact, there is a whole section of the DIS called Creative DISigns where that is mainly what they do over there. They make Disney shirts/transfers/iron ons for anyone to use.
They come up with some really fun things. Check it out if you've never been over there: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105

Hey, just look at the floor as you leave the theatre. You will get plenty of stubs! I scored Cars stubs last week:thumbsup2

I hardly ever order anything, but last week they had a pluto pillow pal that I know my son will love, so I orderd that.

I am so behind! Okay, hope to catch up later.

I love pooh. Silly old bear! And I really relate to Eyore! Love Tigger too..

You'll be able to see Laila in October since she will be tagging along with me for part of the trip. She really is a blessing in my life :littleangel:.
Katie, When I told Keira I was coming on this trip the first thing she asked was if Laila would be there too! It took me a second to figure out what name she was saying so she said, Don't you remember that cute baby?

I get to see Theresa in a week in Vancouver...so excited!
Have a wonderful time in Vancouver, I hope Theresa takes you somewhere nice!

Kiera is doing much better.

SarahMay

Sarah, I'm glad Kiera is doing better. We just got home from Birch Bay and loved it! I kept saying I should call you but we never had a clue what we were up to day to day. We'll be back again for sure and we'll meet up:)

I a a little late - but what a sweet man! That would be a dream from true for me. I am the one who plans all the Dsiney trips.
To be completely honest:rolleyes1 I found the deal on airfare and got the okay from him to book it and started to get excited, then he went to work and found out one of the other managers had that time already booked off and it would be a no go:( After 2 days of sulking and telling him I wasn't his friend anymore while wearing my Mickey shirt the email appeared, he'd pulled a few strings for us:love:

Just wanted to stop in a say "hi" to everyone. :wave2:
How is the job search going Capri?

I am a road trip lady too!! When we go on trips, we always try to change things up and explore!! Part of the fun of road trips is the planning on where to stop along the way! :cloud9: Food, museums, antique stores, scenery, places of interest and the list goes on! :cool1:

We just bought our first travel trailer this year and have been doing camping close to home but we're hoping to go down to California next year. Our only trouble is trying to fit everything we want to do into the 2 weeks we'll have.

It's the M&G theme that's pulling me in !

Hey Jen, DL had lots of Healthy Choice items.:thumbsup2 I just figure with all that walking I pretty much eat want I want when there.
Not a Pooh fan either. I'm still upset that Bear Country Jamboree was taken out for the ride.

Morning ladies.....My family is participating in the Autism Speaks walk in Portland on August 27th. Our team is : Eck-stra Special Strollers!! Message me if you'd be interested in donating to Autism Speaks.

Thanx so much!!!!

You are such a good mom! Hope your walk goes well.
Tracey

Good morning, ladies!! :)

Thank-you to all those who posted their dates or got in touch with me either here or on Facebook. I added a "tentative" list to our official attendee list as we have several who just won't know until much closer to the trip if they can make it.
Those include Callie, Janelle and Tina, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that things work out for them!! :wizard:
I think I'll add Tracey to that list because I recall her saying she was hoping to come but just didn't know right now.
Wendy posted something too......I can't remember what she said. I'll have to go look for her post. She better come, she's on the scavenger hunt team!!

Still there are several who used to post here that I haven't heard from; Amy, Andrea, Sherri, Kathy, Marie? :confused3 Hope you can still make it!!

Thanks Beth! Wasn't sure how to respond, but I like being on the list and I am doing my darndest to be able to go:)

Sarah May! No fun, on your birthday. Being the Queen of Do Over's, I insist you have a birthday doover right away!

Have a wonderful time in Vancouver, I hope Theresa takes you somewhere nice!

You should come too, if you're in town!! We're going to Joey's on Burrard.

You are the best, Angie :thumbsup2 I can totally see you doing that..... and if it works, Go Angie :cheer2: I'm a little jealous that you get to go before Christmas (I've been trying to make it there for a couple of years now....). Are you taking the kids out of school for the trip? Have fun and make sure you get one of those handmade candy canes!

I'm kinda sorta thinking that I'll come for the whole trip rather than arriving Friday night. The M&G sounds too fun to miss. Somebody talk me into it.

Trudi - you really have to come for the M&G! This theme is so your thing, you just can't miss it. If you've never been to one, this should definitely be the one you make it for......... plus I know there'll be a lot of fun Divas there and yummy goodies...... and we'll all get to see you too :thumbsup2 It's a win-win and super fun!!

Thanks Beth! Wasn't sure how to respond, but I like being on the list and I am doing my darndest to be able to go:)

Tracey - I hope your darndest works and you are able to come!

Happy Friday Divas!

Mel - I just found a super great deal on hot fix rhinestones (yes, I'm trying to be creative again - be afraid, be very afraid! Frank sure is!!!)

Jen,
I love that skirt pattern. Could you share it with me?
I'm sorry to hear that your Bernina was too hard to use. Mine is nearly 34 years old, and still ticking. Apparently, I have a model that is coveted, cuz the last time I had it serviced the guy asked me if I wanted to sell it. Said I could make what I paid for it. I told him no thanks, I'm keeping my relic!!

Kaitlyn went last night with my DIL Sarah. She is still sleeping, so I have not had the chance to ask her what she thought.

So I am planning to eat pretty healthy during our trip by cooking and making some meals in our room. If anyone is interested in joining me let me know! My DH says I am good cook...
You want to eat healthy? LOL! What is that? OK....I understand. For breakfast, I bring my plain yogurt, granola and fruit. That is as far as I get!

Sorry, I had to have posted at least 10 posts to post a link to my photo and I was at 8 posts, so I had to create two before this one. *snort*

Well some us locals can help you out on the fun and good places to eat and see!

I'm kinda sorta thinking that I'll come for the whole trip rather than arriving Friday night. The M&G sounds too fun to miss. Somebody talk me into it.

I agree! Sarah, you need to have another celebration! :wizard:

Tracey, I really hope things work out for you to come!!

Mel - I just found a super great deal on hot fix rhinestones (yes, I'm trying to be creative again - be afraid, be very afraid! Frank sure is!!!)
LOL! That gave me a good laugh!:laughing::laughing: Can't wait to see your creation! :scared1:

So where is the deal at for stones?
:hyper: By the way, I am not going to order Hotfix anymore for the tee shirts. Found out the hard way, they don't stick to the image printed on the tees. I ended up gluing all the stones on with Gemtack. The Hotfix stones adhered to the plain fabric super good, just not the image, which was practically the whole thing. LOL... :upsidedow
The last time I ordered was from Dreamtime Creations. They had the best deal then. :thumbsup2
