Laurie- I'm sorry your family was treated they way they were. I grew up in a blended family but you would never know it. My mom and stepsister are only about 10 years apart but she still introduces her as her daughter. In my husbands family his step mom is very much our kids Grandma. We wouldn't have it any other way!

Tina- I would love to meet up with you!

Welcome back to all the divas that went to the halloween/birthday bash! Can't wait to hear how it went and see more pics!!

Stacie we are going the 9-12! If you end up going let me know and I will pm you my number. Would LOVE to meet up with you at some point!!

Laurie I am sorry that happened to you. I am a stepparent as you know and it is a tough dynamic. I have always thought of my stepdaughter as my daughter and introduce her as such eventhough things are NOT good with us. I raised her from the time she was 7 and I feel as if she is my daughter. I know she doesn't feel the same towards me and always calls me by my name or this is my stepmom which DOES hurt considering she doesn't even speak to her REAL mom and I feel more like her mother since I raised her and she BARELY even saw her real mom. But as the others have said it is just one of those tough situations. You just have to do your best and in the end it is what is in your heart that matters and I am sure your stepmom loved you and she "knows" how you feel and I am sure she appreciated you being there. ((hugs))

Thanx Angie & Kelly!! Blended families do make things a little complicated at times...but they shouldn't have to be. Important people in your life are just that......important!! I'm feeling better today, thanx for all the input on the subject....can't change what I'm not in control of but can teach my kids to accept all no matter of "label", nationality, sexual preference, etc.

Well we got bad news from the doctor. They need to do surgery on my DBF's wrist. They need to put an external fixator (pins in his hand and upper arm with a bar on the outside that connects them) on because they feel the cast would not be enough to keep it from moving while it heals.

Hopefully he can get this done early this week and then we will see if he feels good enough to go on the cruise. The doc said he will feel a lot better after the surgery once the bones are in place. He is in SO much pain right now. :sad2:

Had a blast meeting Candace at the Disney Store and having lunch at Rainforest Cafe! I'm really looking forward to the trip with so many amazing women there! Sorry Deb was not able to meet up. I hope all the ladies who went to DL had a great time...can't wait to see pics. I am home from work today as I threw my back out Saturday night. It is starting to feel a little better but now everytime I get up I am dizzy and feel qweazy. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Take care all,
SarahMay

Oh Sara I am sorry! That stinks. Did you perhaps get trip insurance just in case? Is there someone else that could go in his place if god forbid he can't go so you don't lose all your money? Gosh that really sucks. I hope things work out one way or the other!

Katy broke her arm 3 weeks before we went to DisneyWorld last year but luckily got her cast off like 2 days before we left. I hope he feels better soon!!

I had a grand time with the ladies this weekend. I just wish I could have stayed the whole time, but during football season that just isn't possible.

I had a blast at Knott's Scary farm!! I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did because I'm not into scary Halloween. I'm more of the cutsy Halloween type ;). I had so much fun that night that my jaw was sore from laughing so much and my voice was a little hoarse the next day from screaming.

Beth's birthday was fun and thanks Theresa for my drink :). I really needed it :). Oh and Laila thanks you again for all her goodies. It was a wonderful surprise for her and I can't pry that duffy bear away from her :rolleyes1. I have to take her to California Adventure next weekend to meet pumpkin duffy because she must meet him....Hey Cheryl do you wanna come LOL!!

Just having 2 kid free adult only nights was priceless....:lovestruc.

That really sucks, but hopefully the surgery relieves most of the pain and he can enjoy the cruise. Devin broke his leg the day before our cruise but we all still had a great time. We just had to modify our plans a bit. I hope it all works out :wizard:.

P.S. I also wanted to brag a little bit about my son's football team. After this past Friday's game they are now 7-0 and are Ranked #2 in the state of California and #25 in the nation :thumbsup2. It's really hard to believe but I'm proud of the whole team. GO SCOTS!!!

I hope the surgery goes well and your BF is feeling better on your trip.

Sarah: hope things work out on your DBF's surgery and your trip is fab!

Katie: NO I do NOT want to see Pumpkin Duffy. I've seen quite enough of him, thank you! Between my sexual assault from him and Linda's from Pooh I'm beginning to wonder about these Disney characters . . . . .

Had LOTS of fun this weekend girls! Wish you ALL could have been there, including any "disgraced" Divas. AmyOkraSue--all I can say is at least you're not a "Bad Girl"! Bwahahahahaha!

I hope this helps with his pain Sarah......I also hope it doesn't interupt your cruise plans.......got my fingers & toes crossed plus I'll add a prayer or two in there for good measure!! :thumbsup2

I hope the surgery helps, and your cruise plans aren't affected.

SarahMay~Ouchie on the back! I have a problem back, and Aleve and arnica are my best friends.

Katie~How cool is that! You should be one proud momma!

I had a little panic attack last night. My iphone crashed while I was playing Words with Friends. The horror! I couldn't get it to power on, so I had to go into the Apple store this morning. Those geeks are geniuses! My phone is up and running, and I have my life back!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We are still waiting to hear from the doctor to see what day he can do the suregry. I've called him 3 times already today. :sad2:

My DBF says he still wants to go on the cruise so that's still the plan for now.

I feel that way too.....but I'm touchy on things like that with all our adopted kids & me being adopted too. Family's is family in my book. My boys never felt any different about the "step" grandparents.....to them, they were just grandparents.

I'm adopted too. A fact my sister likes to remind me of, like asking why I should get any of our grandparents' belongings since I'm not REALLY related to them. Grrrrrrr. Yes, she is my parents' biological child. When she would tell me that mom and dad loved her more cuz she was their REAL kid, I would remind her that they PICKED ME OUT and PAID for me.... she was a surprise (they were married 5 years when they adopted me and another 4 when they had her). We're very close, as you can see. LOL

Ouch! Poor guy! At least he can look forward to recuperating on the cruise!

Hooray! I'm all caught up! I went out to Roseville this morning for the grand opening of the new Hobby Lobby (like Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics on STEROIDS). I was there for over 2 hours. Then off to HoDepot for some concrete patch to fix a chunk that came out of our driveway over the weekend. Got that done. Loaded and ran the diswasher. Washed the stuff that doesn't go in the d/w. Laundry is running. The thrills never end here. LOL

That reminded me of when I was younger, my younger brother got mad at me for something & yells "you're not even blood related"....lol At the time it hurt my feelings but now I just chuckle.

Lisa, I just wanted to say a very heartfelt "Thank You" for the cute Mickey/CandyCorn pins you made. they are so adorable. I'm still wearing mine, and will probably wear it everyday through Halloween.
Being as I am not particularly crafty, I really appreciate your amazing talents. Thanks for sharing them!

Ditto what Chris said. I love the pin and candy corn is my favorite Halloween candy. That was very sweet of you. You were with us in spirit this weekend. :lovestruc

Sara, I hope your poor BF is getting pain relief and the surgery helps him feel better.
