Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

I would be willing to pass them out on the first day along with the t-shirts. Or I could PM the ladies with the list of cell phone numbers and they could print out a copy so they have it with them beforehand. That way, when they check in on Thursday (if they get there before me), they can call and meet up with someone who's at the parks or wherever.:thumbsup2
Well, actually come to think of it I could just do that too.

I can PM all the ladies who are on the phone list with all the numbers and then they can print it out and as you said, they'll have it with them already. That will make it easier too since no one will have to track everyone down to pass the list out.

I think I'll only send the list to the 18 who have given me their number. I mean that seems fair, if you shared your number then you'll get the others numbers, right?

But I'll wait until closer to the trip, say next month sometime to send that PM out because I am still getting numbers now and then.

A mini meet in October sounds good .

Also, I'll be PMing all the ladies on the Blue Bayou list to verify they still want to attend. I will be calling on Monday 2/25 when they open. Since we are a large group I want to make sure we have spots :thumbsup2 .

Thanks Katie. That's why even though I can't go, I know this trip is going to be great. Everyone has stepped up and is participating to make sure it all goes as smoothly as possible. It's a great group we've got here. :goodvibes

And I'm open for meeting up with anyone in October! Just say the word. :thumbsup2

I do have a cell phone but do not know the number never call myself in fact no one calls it. In fact since hubby and I are almost aways together I just give out his :)

So as soon as I figure it out will pm it to you :)

I would generally agree, but the only concern I have is that there may be ladies without cel phones? Or ones that don't work in the United States? If so, they may still want to be able to contact people, but would need to be calling from local numbers. I would hope that they would PM you, but they may think "oh, I don't have a cel phone anyway, so I won't respond."

Oh, and Beth, I'm so very sad you're not coming! Is there any way to work it out for at least part of the time? Like you, DH and the family coming to So.Cal for the weekend and DH and the kids dropping you off and going to his family's for the weekend? Or something like that. Then you'd be able to be there at least part of the time, and the cost wouldn't be as much.

Beth, I'm really bummed about you not coming. I didn't get to talk to you much during the first Ladies Dis trip at WDW and I was hoping to do that this year.

I sent my cell number in. I just want you all to remember, I'm in Canada. Now you're more than welcome to TEXT me on the cell phone. Most plans cover North America if you have a texting plan. If you call, I can't tell you how much it will cost you but you are welcome to do so. I think when you call you need to dial one but when you text you don't. At least that seems to be what happens when I use the phone from here.

I hope Lesley is reading her PM's. I know she missed one of my friends and I PM'd her the name originally in Jan. Every other list has been wonderful, I have had no missing names.

I can't wait to see all you ladies on the Thurs or Fri. Please feel free to come say "Hi" any time you see me. I might look cranky but I'm not really. ;)

Shelley, I am really bummed too. Meeting and hanging out with you all was the one thing I was looking forward to most.

As for the phone numbers, I know when we went to WDW we were in groups most of the time anyways, so really only one person from the group would make the call to someone else they knew was in another group to see where they all were. So it's ok if some of you don't have cell phones or they don't work here. You won't lose touch.
Does that make any sense?? :rotfl:

Well, ladies, I've hesitated posting this because I feel so bad about the ladies (especially Beth) that can't make it this year . . . . but I have had so much Disney pixie dust this week that I just have to share . . . .

First, a friend of mine who is not into everything Disney like we are was at DTD last week and got dreamed with a lanyard and pins--she knows that I am a Disney nut so she told me she is going to give them to me!

Second, I found out (thanks to Mama Kate I believe) that they are giving Disney Dream Suite Tours to DVC members in California--I called and I wasn't on the list (bummer). So I called my guide, who called Florida and I wasn't on the list because I just bought at the end of the January--so he got me on the list and I get to go on March 1st! (Of course, I get to go at 11 p.m. but you have to take the good with the bad, right?)

Third, I got home last night and found a box on the front porch with Dream Ears in them (from sending in postcards to the YOAMD contest)!

Finally, I am on the board of a group that provides scholarships for single parents who have gone back to college at a local community college--I am the co-Philanthropy chair . . . . every year we take all the parents (which so far have been all Moms but we don't discriminate--it just works out that they are the ones applying) to Disneyland with their kids. Because we have a connection, we get to go to Club 33 for breakfast first, and then everyone goes their own way--and the trip is tomorrow and I get to go! (I went last year too!) Usually we board members ride a few rides in DL and then do a couple rides in DCA and then we end up in the bar at the Grand Californian--we'll see what happens tomorrow (I would just as soon skip the bar . . . I'll be getting plenty to drink in April!)

Anyway, just wanted to share . . . there is pixie dust out there and I hope that you all also get some soon . . . .

and Beth--I would love to do a mini-meet in October--when are you going to be here (if you know yet)? My only issue is that I'm leaving at the end of that month for my first real trip to WDW! (Haven't been there since I was 15 or so . . . . MANY years ago--there was just a Magic Kingdom then . . . . and swan boats which I never got to ride . . . . )

Yes, you can keep track if you contact just one person in the group you're trying to find. Been there, done that. The hardest part is remembering who was in the group when they left.

But half the fun is sending out texts to everyone and see who gets them first and who responds first. Trust me, my ladies group knows how to text. Multi texts are necessary and fun. I personally like texting in the Haunted Mansion and watching my friends answer them as we go round. LOL Yep, small things amuse small minds. But you really do get great reception in the HM at WDW for most of the ride! I just need a keyboard on my phone to be faster. ;)

Cheryl, how awesome! :wizard: I hope you have a marvelous day at DLR tomorrow and have a great breakfast at Club 33. (said with much love and just a tad of jealousy);)

Scary but amazing fact about DangerMouse, I've never "texted". :scared1: I wouldn't know how if I tried. Will I feel left out? Anyone want to teach me? :teacher: :confused3

I have texted but only twice and it took me FOREVER!!! :lmao:

Add me to the "I couldn't text if my life depended on it club!" Maybe someone will do a tutorial for us?

I've gotten texts from other people but don't know how to reply or how to initiate on my own!

Texting is so easy! I'd say tutorials over drinks but that would NOT be a good idea....interesting but not a good idea.

Step 1...can you FIND your messages to read them? If you can do that, replying is next.

Step 2...learning to reply. Trick. Keep an old message from people you reply to alot. Saves you trying to initialize one

Step 3..learning to start your own.

If you can get to Step 2 for the trip, I can show you during the trip!!! If you want to play at sending text messages, go ahead and use my number when the list is released. I have unlimited in and out bound.

I'd bet your kids all could figure it out. (younger nieces, nephews etc)

I'll be teaching LittleBelle while we wait for the plane to leave.

Cheryl, Way to go! Who said you can't get enough Disney Pixie Dust?? I hope it rubs off on this trip too!

TEXT WARNING!!! Be very afraid of WDWR.......she is a texting monster....LOL
I've been on a few WDW trips with her and our friends. The first trip, I neglected to "check my plan" before I left. By the time I realized I only had like 40 texts allowed....it was in the 100's and after that 1st 40 you pay per text...yikes! It would have been much easier and cheaper to have added the $4.99 plan onto my account prior to leaving! Which I learned for the subsequent trips. Funny part was explaining to my hubby when I got home why I was getting texts at 4am.......from the East Coast girls who forgot that we were 3 hours behind! hehehe
I was a non texter back then, and still am 80% of the time now, but I can send a quick short reply in under a minute now! If you have teenagers...ask them....its like learning a new language! LOL

love you Shelley...mean it!

Just sent you a PM!

OK, I was just reading a thread here about the EP dessert viewing.
I mean it seems nice and all, but am I the only one who thinks it's insane to spend $334 for 6 for some snacks and to see a parade you can see for free? :confused3

Ah well, you don't really have to answer that. I'm just cheap I guess. :lmao:
