I am so sorry to hear about your job, Michelle. I would be freaking out!! I am always wanting to quit my job, but would seriously be sunk if I lost it!!

That seems like such little notice to me. Good luck. I do hope that you will at least get a good reference!!!

As for not having enough work for you, weren't you just working b'zillion hour days before Christmas? Ugho!!!

I was glad to read about your weekend with Zoe at least!!! Amy

Gosh, I don't like these sad news stories. :sad1:
Michelle, I hope you can find a new job very quickly, I am so sorry. And January, you simply must come in April. I hope it all works out that the finances are available for you. And yes, my signature used to say Moreno Valley, but last year our zip code (we are in a new development tucked under Lake Perris) changed its name to Rancho Belago, so we are going with it:upsidedow . They are building a lake community up the street that is supposed to be very upscale, but with the housing market as it is, who knows what will happen:confused3 . I don't like living here, we are OC transplants, but my DH's work is in the Inland Empire and we moved out here. But HEY! I work in Corona, about a 45 minute commute, not too shabby for So Cal standards.;)

Well, turns out I have bigger things to worry about than my birthday weekend. I just found out that I'm losing my job as of 2/22. Apparently, the lawyer I work with just doesn't have enough work right now for me and doesn't anticipate having enough any time soon.
I'm crushed and devastated! It took quite a bit of time to get a job here in CA. We were just now getting caught up with me being unemployed for so long after moving here. My income covers more than half of our take home, so this is a BIG hit for us.
Oh Michelle. I am so sorry to hear that. I wish I could say something to make it better. All I can do it offer a hug. Hang in there.

Hi, ladies!

Sheesh....there has been a lot of bad news lately.:sad2: I most likely won't be able to go in April but maybe we can plan another trip after this one. For 2009? Just a thought.

Well, I am listing junk on ebay to help pay some bills.

Callie---the reason we owe was because we did own a business. We sold it at the end of January and we thought we had the taxes all paid up. We owed a lot more but the deductions and credits softened the hit. I hope you all don't have to pay.

I am frustrated because we are far from rich and we keep having to pay year-after-year. I am hoping next year we get a refund.:wizard: We could really use one.

Wow...So Cal seems to change constantly. My family lives in Corona and Riverside and it seems like zip and area codes are always changing. It is crazy! When I was growing up, Corona was really little. Now there are soooo many people! I worked at Kaiser in Anaheim and the drive on the 91 from Corona would take me 2 hours!:scared1: So, yeah, 45 minutes is pretty nice!:thumbsup2\

I liked living in California but I think it was more because of family than anything. I am really close to them and going to visit has gotten really expensive. We have been planning on moving to the Sacramento area once I am done with school. If things keep going up, up, up, we may just stay here. That is, unless, I find a job that pays very well!

Just taking a break from work and thought I would say howdy! Hope you all are enjoying your day. Still cold and snowing here. The sun came out for about 30 seconds then disappeared.

I cannot wait for Spring!!

Hello January . I hope you survive the snow. Why do so many people from California move to Idaho?? I know it's cheaper, but are there other reasons?? Two people from my old job moved there and my cousin moved there a long time ago (she lives in Nampa). I heard people from Idaho don't like all the Californians moving there :confused3 .

Good question! I have no idea why most move here....my dad moved us here because where we were living was getting too crowded and a lot of dangerous activity. I moved back to Corona when I graduated high school and then a few years later decided to move back to Boise because I missed my parents.

There are a lot of Californians here. Boise/Nampa area used to be nothing but country...now it is pretty big (about the size of Riverside) and it just keeps getting more and more populated. I can't wait to leave. Too boring for my taste.

We have a lot of Californians here in Spokane too. I think Spokane is a great place to live, but I'm not quite sure what the draw is for Californians to move here. I guess they can sell their little $1.5 million dollar bungalow in California, but some awesome house here for $500,000, put the remaining million in a money market then live off the interest. So, maybe it's early retirement that's bringing them here? Heck, I'd do that too. That would be great! FREEDOM FROM THE DAILY GRIND!

Hi ladies. Busy day here, lots of errands and now it's time for homework and dinner. But I just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Hi ladies! Been busy around here too. I leave for DLR with my youngest early early Sunday morning and haven't packed a thing! I also have to work tomorrow at my old lawfirm. Eeek! I really should be doing laundry/packing organizing tonight, but Survivor AND Lost are both on so I guess it'll have to wait till Saturday. It's a good thing I perform well under pressure. ;-)

Hope you all have a great evening and TGIF!

hello, another Moreno Valley person checking in :) We moved here during the summer from Minnesota, my husband works in the school district.

I'm amazed at the houses they build here, 5 , 6, 7 bedroom homes-- wow!

But who can afford them?? :confused3

Ooooh, I'd like a 7 bedroom house. :yay:

Oh wait, then again, I'd have to clean it and I can barely keep a four bedroom one clean!! :headache: :sad2:
And you're right, who the heck can afford a 7 bedroom house in CA?? :scared1:
