Oh, please tell it to stop. :)

Wait...I assume you're right near Anaheim. If you are, tell it to stop. But if you're not, and if it stops where you are and might move up to DLR, then don't. :)

Yes yes, it's all about me. :rolleyes1
Hi Molly! Only one more day before your off on your own!!

I can't wait to hear how it goes and I will hope for great weather for you! :wizard: And for everyone else going to DL this week-end.:)

My gosh that's a lot of shows! Haven't you only been there less than a year or something like that??? Wow.

Oh dang, I made the mistake of watching CSI last night and now I can't get the no-doubt-ridiculously-false-image of Las Vegas out of my head from it. It's the same problem I have when I watch CSI Miami, when I know darn well that the Miami they show is a tiny little bit of full-on Miami!

OK, sorry 'bout that, but the visions of what they show on that, hmm, show were overwhelming for a minute.

But still, that's so many shows.

Is it even possible for you to talk about X - An Erotic Adventure on this site? I mean, I'm so curious as to what they do/show in that. I bet I'll have to wait for in person chats, won't I? :upsidedow

1 day 1 day. 7 hours and I get to check in online. Ooh, probably should get to bed at some point...

Hi everyone! Checking in from Soggy Southern California before I take off to work!

I'll try & catch up this weekend, but wanted to say hey.

HEY!

LOL Are you excited about your trip?? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Some of those shows we saw before we moved here. We only lived in MI for 3 years. Before that we lived in Burbank, CA and would come here a lot.
The last 10 are what we've seen since we moved here in July.

Oh, and X is basically just a topless showgirl show. It's nothing that bad. LOL

Oh no. That sucks. I'm sorry to hear you were sick. But I'm glad you're doing better. :)

Hello Ladies!

I've been very busy at work, but I have a quick minute to check in and say hi .

We had fun at Disneyland on Monday & Tuesday. I finally got "dreamed" and we got the dream fastpasses, but it was EMPTY on Tuesday and we didn't use any of the fastpasses, but at least I've finally got something after hundreds of trips  . I think the chance of rain kept a lot of people away.

It has stopped raining here for a little while, but it was POURING just about an hour ago. It's still really cloudy and should start up again soon

.

I hope it doesn't rain too much this weekend. We'll be going to Disneyland on Sunday to eat at Blue Bayou and get the new AP Dining pin.

Hope everyone is well and I'll check in again later :grouphug: .

We did an impropmtu B-day (DH) visit to HoJo's in Anaheim last night! Got to meet Lorealle (HoJoAnaheim). She is the cutest, sweetest lady I've ever seen. I gave her a hug, and I was afraid I'd break her!
She, and the entire staff, honestly, were so helpful! I needed directions to the Amtrak station from where I was on the I-5, as I was sitting in traffic and rain. (For those who might need to be picked up, I totally know the route, no, so no troubles!) They had a b-day card waiting for DH, signed by a bunch of the staff.
We got to stay in one of the rooms that we'll have when we go (or at least the same type!) We were in 613, tower 1. It had a great view. Could see the pool and hot tub, the monorail, Space Mountain and Matterhorn very easily. The room was very spacious. (Though, the bathroom was kinda tiny.) It had micro, dorm type fridge, closet with iron and ironing board, nice tv, balcony. It was very spacious. And, best of all, the beds were soooo comfy!
They have a gift shop that was really pretty nice. The pools are nice and clean and heated, the chairs have cushions on them. Good size hot tub (which is what I anticipate taking advantage of while there.) There's even a cute little kids water play area (not good for the Ladies trip, but generally, wonderful if you're traveling with smaller children.)
Oh, the walk is nothing! I had always been a bit skeptical, as it looks like it's so far away. I was worried about the walk coming back from DL at night or for a break. It was honestly no further away than any of the other places I've stayed. We walked to IHOP (in the pouring rain and cold wind, nonetheless!) last night (which is right across the walking entrance of DL) and it took us no time. We've stayed at Desert Inn, which is slightly closer, and Anaheim Plaza, which looks closer, but I think is actually farther away. And, HoJo's is nicer and cleaner.
The only concerns I have is that there are no suites. For our family, that makes it a challenge trying to get dressed with two genders and various ages. Though there's certainly enough space in the room for 5, it's hard when traveling with that many people to not have a separate room that you get with a suite. Oh, and there is internet access, but you have to pay for it. No wifi.
Overall, I'm sold. It's a great place, very comfy, very clean, very nice staff, and we have resies there for both my b-day in Feb. and DD's b-day weekend of 3/7-3/9! And, of course, OUR trip!

Hi Linda. :)

I've never seen La Nouba but my in-laws have and they really enjoyed it. I hope one day we'll be able to catch it.

Our goal is to see all the shows here on the Strip at some point. :rotfl: So far we've seen:

Carrot Top
Bottoms Up
Mac King
Ronn Lucas
American Superstars
Skintight
Showgirls
Jubilee
X - An Erotic Adventure
Tony and Tina's Wedding
Splash
Danny Gans
Siegfried and Roy
Spamalot
The Producers
KA
Love
V - The Ultimate Variety Show
Crazy Girls
Stomp Out Loud
Zumanity
Mamma Mia
Mystere

The list is growing, but we cheat because for a lot of those shows, we got a locals discount. LOL Otherwise we'd be broke!!
I think I enjoyed KA the best. I'd love to see "O" but it's so expensive. :sad2: I think Phantom of the Opera is next on our list.

It's not raining here. We hardly ever get rain. I wish it would. I love the rain and miss it. Hopefully it stops soon for you. Send it my way!! ;)
What a great list!! Wow
We saw LOVE on opening night and loved it! The music was great! We sat 5 rows behind Tom Cruise, Katy and their kids....LOL

I'd love to take DH to see Spamalot, as he's a big Monty Python fan!

Rainy (pouring actually), overcast, cloudy, gray and pretty dang cold is what we experienced the entire time we were there. :(

Zoe, thanks for a recent review of the HoJo. I never had to pay for internet access in the room. It wasn't wifi, but they had a high-speed hook-up and it was free.

Great to hear that they have already started putting micros in the premium rooms.

I've been watching the HoJo webcam on and off today. Looks so moody out there with all the clouds mixed with sunshine and intermittent rain.

.

Augh, I had managed to put it out of my head that the new one was coming out the day AFTER I leave. augh.

We missed the one before because every place was out of it by early December. augh.

OK, whew. I thought all Vegas shows were like that!!! So the name of it was really freaking me out. Then again once in a former life I went to a BIG theater in Seattle to see a naughty movie from the 70s with a big-time (no longer living) star...for some reason I almost think it was 3-d? It was soooooo bad but sooooo funny, to be seeing a movie like that with 1000s of other people. :rotfl:

You are so funny! You weren't going to break me! :rotfl:

I am so glad you guys had a good night [despite the gale force wind and rain!] with us! It was so good to meet you and your family! [You sure are a handsome group! The boys are so tall, and Zoe is adorable!] And I hope that you didn't pay for internet access while you were here! Because it's free!

I'm really excited to get to spend some more time hanging out with you in April! :cutie:

Lorealle

Thanks for the lovely words about my family! You are just so sweet!
Thanks for the heads up on the internet. I thought that it would cost, as either in the booklet for guests or on the modem box, it said something to the effect that internet access and local phone charges apply. So, I thought it cost to use it. Wasn't a big deal last night, but it's nice to know in the future.

We were all drenched the entire night. The kids shoes were still wet today! It was definitely raining and blowing hard. And you guys still offered to help us to our room!

Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!! At least for Saturday!!! I know the park clears out when it rains, but it's so much more ... unwet when it's not raining!! I'm such a sissy!! :scared: :scared: :scared:

Hi Katie! Good to see you. I also hope you don't get too much rain! Enjoy your lunch at BB. :) BTW, what is an AP Dining pin?

Hi Michelle. Sounds like ya'll had a great time. How fun. I LOVE little spontaneous trips like that. Thanks for the info on the hotel. Sounds good to me!! :thumbsup2

I agree, LOVE was wonderful. That's kind of neat you sat so close to Tom Cruise and family, even if he is a bit of a weirdo. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:
I really enjoyed that show and I wasn't even a Beatles fan.

Do you get emails from www.travelzoo.com?? If not, you should. They frequently have discounts on Vegas shows and hotels. In fact, Spamalot was recently discounted on their Top 20.

LOL No not all Vegas show are like that. Some are, but some are appropriate for the whole family. I think all the Cirque shows, with the exception of Zumanity would be good for the whole family.
You just have to do your research.

That's too funny about going to that theater! But 3-D??? :lmao:

Hopefully it won't be too bad. I wish I'd been able to go this week-end like we had planned at one point. It would have been fun to meet up with some of you! Rain or no rain. LOL

Well, just remember to bring your poncho, umbrella, and of course, some rain boots: :rolleyes1

But we'll still hope for little to no rain.....
