Hi, no plans for the weekend. Yesterday I got a phone call from one of my bosses that I need to be in North Carolina for a meeting on Tuesday so I have to get ready to catch a plane Monday morning. Anyway I hope you all have a nice, relaxing weekend.

We're taking down Christmas this weekend. I always hate that chore. Usually dh does most of it since I put it all up. It's supposed to rain here on Sunday, so we'll probably go see Alvin & The Chipmunks at the bargain matinee.

We never ended up making it to the movie. Our babysitter bailed on us. Oh, well.. my mom is watching DD tomorrow night for us so we can go. Thank goodness for Grandma!:cool1:

OK, I have the magazine back. Sounds like you need to purchase a package to get it. Now that would be OK for me cuz my Sister needs a ticket. And the ticket is pay for3/ get 5 days also. If you can, go to your AAA store and see what they say. The only thing I don't like about AAA, is their cancellation policy. It's confusing.
Melody, I stopped by my local AAA office today while I was out running around and asked about any specials for the CCI.

The only one they were offering out of the Nevada offices was Stay for 3 Nights and get the 4th Free when you booked a Disney's Good Neighbor Magic Vacation package.

So I guess that won't work for me since I have no use for a package. But it is a nice deal if you need a package so thanks for putting that out there just in case someone else can use it. :thumbsup2

Good afternoon, ladies!:cool1:

I hope you all are enjoying your Friday. Does anyone have fun plans for the weekend? We are probably going to see National Treasure tonight. I heard it was really good. I liked the last one...this one looks better.

Is anyone interested in reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer? I have been told by several people at work to read them; that they are VERY good books. So, I went to Overstock.com and got all three books in hardback for 35.47....that is with shipping! I just thought I would pass that along to anyone who is interested. It is a great deal.:thumbsup2 I love to read and I figured I could treat myself to an early birthday gift.:cloud9:
Hey January. No fun plans here. We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese today and that will probably be the last "fun" thing we do before school starts again on Monday.

We did alot on this break though. Starting with the Disneyland trip back in mid December. Seems like it's been go, go, go since then and I am ready for them to be back in school and for me to have a break!! :rotfl2:

My DH did take my DS to see that National Treasure though and they both really liked it, so I hope you enjoy it!!

Well sounds like you'll have a busy start to next week. Hopefully you are able to relax a little bit this week-end and have a good trip.

Ugh, I hate that chore too. I already did it though and I'm glad it's over with.
It rained a little bit here today too, which is why we ended up at Chuck E Cheese, but I actually like and miss the rain so it was nice. Enjoy the movie on Sunday!

Hey, I just say your post. Sorry about the sitter. That's too bad. But yay for Grandma!! Your lucky. We don't have any family near by since we moved. So it's challenging to go out. We have to wait for his family to come and visit.

Anyways, hope you able to see it tomorrow. I heard it's good and it has Nicholas Cage..... ;)

Hi, Beth! My mom is visiting us this weekend...she lives about 2 hours away. But still close enough when we need her. Most of the rest of our family is in California.
Sounds like you had a nice day at Chuck E Cheese and spending time with the kidlets before school gets back in session.
I hope you have a great night!:wizard:

They are yummy! They come with vanilla custard, and rasberry sauces for dipping, and melt in your mouth. Cafe Orleans is my DD's favorite place to eat, because of them and the Monte Cristo. Another really good item there that we just discovered, are the Pommes Frittes. (spelling?) They are french fries covered in parmesan cheese and garlic. Yummo!!!!!!! Have you noticed a common thread here. They'll all fried! :rolleyes1  :scared1:

Beth, I tried to just quote you but I don't know how to do that. So here goes. Thanks for your inquiring mind. I'm not sure if I should get this deal or not. What would happen if my Sister can't go.? She is the one that needs a ticket, so she would book the packgage. I'd hate for her to loose out, especially if the ticket expires on the 24th.
What still makes me kind of upset, is the guy at the Candy Cane Inn. I think I will call back next week or so, and see what they say again. Humph!

Can we all diet and eat healthy between now and then so we can spend the whole trip eating, drinking and shopping. :rotfl:

That's nice. My in-laws are the closest family we have and they are 5 hours away.
We were able to find one lady here who has watched them twice and the kids love her but she's expensive so we try not to use her often.

You have a good night too!! :goodvibes

I have never eaten at the Cafe Orleans. I might have to add that to our next family trip in March. Those fries sound too darn good!!! LOL

I don't know if this would work or not, but can you make two reservations at CCI? One in her name with the package, and then one in your name with just a regular AAA discount? :confused3

You don't have to put any money down to hold it, just a credit card number. And as long as you cancel within the allowed time (48 hours within check in), then you won't be charged a penalty.

By then you'll know for sure if she's coming and if she is, then you cancel yours and if she can't then cancel hers. Either way you are covered.

I don't know. It's kind of a hassle, but as long as you don't forget to cancel in time, it should work out. :confused3 Just a thought.

Or just call back during the day. When I called I got a lady and she was very helpful. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw. I've even called Disney before and gotten cast members who were rude and clueless. It happens.

Good luck either way!! :wizard:

I made some updates on the front page. Basically just added that Callie is also working on a tee design and lanyards and/or nametags.

Callie, if you have a link or poll that you'd like me to add to the first post, with some of the latest designs, just post it again for me and I'll add that too. Thanks.

Also I added that dinner for Thursday night can be at Jazz Kitchen  and dinner for Saturday night at House of Blues  .
That way those two days, if someone isn't planning to do the parks, they can still meet with the group for a meal. :thumbsup2

I have to say I cannot wait to eat lunch at Blue Bayou on Friday and Goofy's Kitchen on Saturday!! :yay: Mainly because I haven't been to the Blue Bayou in years!! And I think Goofy's Kitchen will be a hoot with this group. ;) :dance3:

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always looking for new books to read.

I saw a pic of the Pommes Frittes and they look YUMMY! I think I may have to eat there in April. ::yes::

I am really looking forward to trying those restaurants, Beth. popcorn::
We ate a Blue Bayou in August...I don't even remember what I got. I do remember Brent getting the crab legs and he loved em!:thumbsup2 I am looking forward to trying it out again.

Just thought I'd throw some suggestions out about our last dinner for that Sunday. What do you all think about eating at the California Pizza Kitchen or the Cheesecake Factory? They are right next to each other and less than .5 miles from the CCI. I've heard both have really good food. The California Pizza Kitchen is brand new, we wanted to eat their last month but it looks like it's opening at the end of this month.

I have been making a list of places I wanted to try and I didn't think to look at an off-site restaurant. The Cheesecake Factory is good, we have one here. We don't have a California Pizza Kitchen, though...so that might work for me. But like I said before, I will follow the group.:thumbsup2

I was just looking at the schedule last night and thinking how we still need a really yummy, fun place for dinner on Sunday to close out the trip. But had no clue what.

Like January said I never thought to go off-site. I LOVE both of those places!! They are two of my faves, so I'd be game for either one.

The only thing is, how would we get there?

I do know that by Sunday night our group will be smaller since some were leaving on Saturday :guilty: . (unless they decide they can't leave the FUN!!! )

But we'd still have a pretty large group to transport..... :confused3

I just realized I am not even going to be around on Sunday night.:headache: So my opinion doesn't count.

I have been looking at some places....Storytellers, Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe. They all look yummy and the pics of some of the food at these places is making me VERY hungry! popcorn::

What's up, Beth?
