Good morning, ladies!:wave2:

I hope you all are having a great morning. I am planning on putting some ebay auctions up today to help fund this trip. I love doing auctions when the money is for a Disney trip!:surfweb:

Beth, the Lean Cuisine Panini's are good! They are not a lot to fill up on but if you add some fruit and a string cheese or something it makes a nice meal. My favorite Lean Cuisine is the Butternut Squash Ravioli.:lovestruc

I am stil shopping for airfare....this is my least favorite part about planning a trip. It is usually the most expensive part. We usually drive to DL when we go as a family.

I think the t-shirts in both colors would be awesome! It would definitely make it easier to pack. I am hoping to be there Fri-Sun or late Thur-Sun. I prefer to spend at least part of Saturday in one of the parks, unless, the group decides on something else. I will just follow the pack around.

Megan, the pics of your DD with Minnie are too cute! I would have cried too....actually I did when my DD warmed up to Mary Poppins. She loved that character.:lovestruc It was very sweet of you to share!

Hello!! I am back from dl!! Well, I have been back for about a week, but seeing as how dh hasnt really had any time off for the past few months we decided that we needed to have some family time. Not to mention some time to work on that whole trying to have another baby thing.:rolleyes1 :lmao:

I am glad I read through this thread... I was really thinking about canceling this trip. Ds's spring break is just a bit before it, and I was thinking that we should take a family trip... But since I read this, I said pshaw... I spend enough time with them, right?:lmao: :lmao: I will most likely fly into LAX, it is the cheapest for me.

Trust me Beth... You are SOO not the only one who needs a plus sized shirt!:lmao: I am hoping to loose a little wieght before the trip, but we all know how that goes!:lmao:

Melody!!! Stay at the CCI. Please!! For me? You know you wanna!! ;)

Who wants to see the cutest pic ever? My dd, who HATES Characters, and most things about DL... Actually went up to Minnie. I was BAWLING!!! :cloud9:

OM Gosh those pics are too cute! My DS2 loved Minnie! I was so surprised! Of all the characters, Minnie? Really? :rotfl: I figured Buzz or Woody! :confused3

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and book my flights. I will be flying in on April 24 at 9:45am into LAX. I am thinking I may take a shuttle from the airport. I have never been from LAX to DL. Does anyone know how long it takes? I am guessing about an hour.

I am flying out on Sunday afternoon. I am excited cuz now I am REALLY going! :cool1:

I did it! Just made my reservation for CCI! I can't wait, even though I got about once every 2 months or so. I'll be going in 3 weeks, my daughter goes to Biola University, which is about 20 minutes from Disneyland and we're taking her back to school. What better excuse to go to DL? And I have a room at no cost, well, other than what we paid for her to go there!!

Hey, It is 2008. How did that happen so fast. It is 3 days aold and I still haven't made a resolution, let alone followed or broken it. I figure I will give up chips and salsa this year. I give up a snack food every year, fries in 2005, onion rings in 2006, cheetos in 2007. I am running out of salty things to give up...maybe 2009 will be the year to give p....eeeksss cake? I am a big sweet-aholic, so giving up them will be harder.
I have been swimming once this year, but not likely to get in the pool again until next week to start back on my fitness thing. I have gained 10 lbs all around my belly..all of my pants hurt..and the muffin tops are down right horrifying. Oh, and yesterday, I put quite the dent in a carrot cake a co worker brought in....so don't worry about needing big t-shirts y'all!!!!
I will be attending this event Thursday and Friday and driving home on Saturday..after the character breakfast!!! I will be arriving fairly early..not likely rope drop early since I thin I will have to take my DD7 to school before I head up. Is anyone else planning early Thursday? I have never done the park alone....I think that I could have fun by myself!!!!
It's getting closer!! Look forward to meeting everyone!! Amy

Hi Amy, good to see you. I hear ya about giving things up. It's so hard! But sounds like you've done really well in past years!! Good for you!

I'm glad you'll be able to at least be with us through the character breakfast. I think that is going to be one of the highlights of the trip. :thumbsup2

I am really excited and cannot wait to finally put faces to all these names, and just have some fun!! :woohoo:

Very Important Post!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with the Candy Cane Inn. I was upset with myself that I had not reserved a room before the rates went up. So then I asked for the AAA which gives another $10.00 off per night. Just as I was ready to hang up, I remembered reading in my AAA flyer about staying for 4 nights and only paying for 3. So I asked him about that. He said sure. :confused3 So then I said "don't you have to put that in now?" No he says, "you do that at the front desk when you check in." Huh? :confused3 So I asked again. Do you think this sounds hokey? Wouldn't you think that it should be recorded that I asked for that special. Has anyone else asked for the special? Or was he just humoring me? And do you have to buy a package to get that special. I was a little upset that he wasn't more specific.

What do I do now? And if we do get the 4th night free........woo hoo!:woohoo:

Melody, I would call back and make sure that he notes it in your reservation. What he said does not seem right to me.

That sounds like an awesome deal!:thumbsup2
I would call back and see if he booked you correctly....if not you may want to speak to someone else or call AAA to see if they can book it for you.

Hey Megan!! How are ya??

I think I will call back, but maybe wait until tomorrow and get another person hopefully. Have you tried to call for ressies yet? If you haven't just call, and see what they tell you. I have the number if you want it. 800-345-7057

It does sound fishy if you ask me!

I made my ressies about a month ago, and I am only staying 3 nights. Otherwise i would be all over that!

Well, I just made my ressie at the CCI. Thanks for the prompting, I kept putting it off. :rolleyes1

I am having a difficult time planning these next two small DLR trips. I haven't been able to find affordable airfare for my dd's birthday in March and I'm getting really depressed about the thought of driving by myself (just the two of us are going for one on one time). I despise CA traffic and freeways. I still haven't even made my PS ressie at Ariel's.

Ellen and I will probably be driving unless I find a super deal on flights. We will arrive Thursday morning and will leave Saturday after breakfast. The only way we will stay longer is if we find a killer deal at a hotel elsewhere (still holding out hope that an ent. rate may be released).

I think I'm overly obsessing about my 2009 trips on DCL and WDW. Trying to figure out how to come up with $10,000 extra dollars to afford the whole thing. :scared1:

Anyway, enough of my whining. I'm still pretty darn excited about our trip in April. We'll be able to see the new Pixar Play Parade and maybe they will be having soft openings for Toy Story Mania. I can only hope! Ohhh, Ohhh, and I want to eat at Yambuki! I never get to eat there b/c kids don't like Japanese!

I hadn't heard of that special. But I would be careful with what they tell you at CCI. I mean their track record hasn't been the best with giving out accurate info, kwim? And I'm the sort who always wants a confirmation emailed to me with the exact price and deal that I am getting.

If it's true, then I want to get that deal too since I'll be there 4 nights!!

Maybe I'll try to find out from AAA tomorrow how to go about getting that deal. Thanks for the heads up though. :thumbsup2

Hey Callie. I'm sorry your having a hard time with your trips. Here's hoping some decent airfare turns up for you. :wizard: :wizard:

And I hear ya about the freeways. They can be scary. I can't believe I used to drive them all the time. But I was always fine and you will be too.

I think it's so exciting that you are going on a cruise and to WDW in 2009. Yeah, it's expensive, but you know what? The time with your family will be priceless. :goodvibes

I hope you find a "killer deal" for April ;) because we'd love to have you stay longer!!
And isn't it fun to be able to plan to do all the things we usually can't because the kiddos aren't interested. :thumbsup2

Melody, I noticed your in Central CA. Do you get the actual AAA magazine or do you get VIA? I was just wondering where you saw the special at and if it would be something only certain areas could get. :confused3

I get the magazine called Westways, and then I sometimes get flyers in the mail. Unfortutately I think the flyer got tossed, and my magazine is in my DH truck right now. Phooey! As soon as I get it back, I'll get back to you on this.

Did you already make your ressies? Either way could you call them and see what they say? I talked to a guy named Rodrigo. I got his name just in case this all back fired on me. :sad2:

In the meantime, I think I will go check out AAA's website.

OK, I have the magazine back. Sounds like you need to purchase a package to get it. Now that would be OK for me cuz my Sister needs a ticket. And the ticket is pay for3/ get 5 days also. If you can, go to your AAA store and see what they say. The only thing I don't like about AAA, is their cancellation policy. It's confusing.

Good afternoon, ladies!:cool1:

I hope you all are enjoying your Friday. Does anyone have fun plans for the weekend? We are probably going to see National Treasure tonight. I heard it was really good. I liked the last one...this one looks better.

Is anyone interested in reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer? I have been told by several people at work to read them; that they are VERY good books. So, I went to Overstock.com and got all three books in hardback for 35.47....that is with shipping! I just thought I would pass that along to anyone who is interested. It is a great deal.:thumbsup2 I love to read and I figured I could treat myself to an early birthday gift.:cloud9:
