Thank you Beth for the warm welcome!

I am SO excited about a girls weekend in Dland, and the opportunity to meet some new Disney friends! I'm not sure I will be there the whole time, but probably most of it. YAY! :cheer2:

Since I live in the area, and am quite familiar with the resort (at least Disney property, I don't know much about other hotels) if there's any planning I can help with, please let me know!

I LOVE the shirt design, especially in the brown. Nice work!

It's going to take me a while to get through the whole thread and figure out who everyone is, but I will do my best to catch up quickly!

Shelly

PS- Here's a pic of me and dd at Dland. :)

Shelly~ Welcome aboard .

I only live 30 minutes from Dland (without traffic :headache: ) and we go every week or so.

Your daughter is precious princess: . Treasure your time with her while she's young. They grow up way too quickly :sad1: .

Callie ~ I love the brown and pink shirt. Thank your DH for doing this for us :thumbsup2 .

BTW ~ Are we still going to also order the martini shirt? I still love that shirt.

Molly ~ The pictures of you son in his Korean attire is priceless.

For everyone who is flying in: How are you getting from the airport to your hotel? I was just wondering because I'll probably be flying into LAX since it's so much cheaper, and now I'm trying to decide if I should take Super Shuttle or the Disneyland Resort Express Bus. Is one better than the other?:confused3

Kate: Hey girl, you know we have your back. I hope things get better for you, but if you need to vent or need any advice, please know that we're ready, willing and able to help you out.:grouphug:

Eamon can TRY to get out the word for "thank you", but it doesn't come out very well. :) And he just flat out refused to say it despite my asking him to, silly boy.

My MIL is of the opinion that you do NOT teach children the old language. She thought it confused kids, and won't admit that she was wrong, even though all the experts say that early childhood is the BEST time to help kids become multilingual.

But at the same time, she has never made an enormous effort to learn English. So at home DH and his sibs learned "Konglish", which made things very hard for him growing up and in school. His brother was born in Korea and moved here at 9, and is fluent in both languages. DH speaks Korean at around a 3rd grade level; he can understand it a bit better, but can't translate directly, nor can he translate quickly, so at gatherings I just sit there not knowing what anyone is saying until she calls him Deiji (pig) or an aunt calls me "ippuda" (beautiful...the aunts are very nice to me, LOL).

Since DH's dad was away at least half the year (military, merchant marines, then shipping companies) and was much older than most dads, he didn't talk much to his kids, so DH really isn't 100% fluent in English either...it's really hard! He still doesn't get the nuance of spoken English, b/c he grew up in a halfway-land of languages.

Since MIL refuses to really speak Korean around "Americans", despite us nearly begging her to, it makes it hard for Eamon to learn it.

But he did get a traditional Korean 1st birthday, which was stressful on me and DH (MIL was beyond angry with us even before we got there) but DS had a grand time and wore the cutest little outfit EVER. picture and picture
That sounds like it was and is hard on your DH. :sad2:
But it's still nice to have exposure to different cultures for your DS, and those pics of him in those outfits were great!! Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

I'm glad I haven't been forgotten :lovestruc .

Thanks for your willingness to listen to my troubles, but believe me, my life is a soap opera & I don't want all of you to get addicted to the saga of my life popcorn:: .

But I do thank God he has blessed me with opportunity to be able to go on vacation often, otherwise I think I would be half crazy by now :upsidedow . And I REALLY need a vacation with adults only. My kids are getting to the age they complain a lot, so it's not always fun going places with them.
I agree. Being able to just get away makes a huge difference. We have a large family (DH, me, and 4 kids, with one income) so we can't take long, expensive vacations but even just a quick week-end away can sometimes put a smile on your face and allow you to tackle things better.

Oh, and my son just turned 13 in December, so I understand about complaining!! :scared1: He's really getting into the whole teen-ager thing. But he's still a good kid, so when the complaining starts, I close my door and turn up the tv. :happytv: ;)

BTW ~ Are we still going to also order the martini shirt? I still love that shirt.
Me too! I think alot of people would still like to have that one as well. :thumbsup2

Molly - those pics are too cute! :thumbsup2

I thought we were going to get both shirts too. Maybe we could wear one on Friday and one on Saturday?

Also, my New Years resolution is to start exercising again. I haven't exercised in 6 months and in turn, I've gained weight. I'm busting out all over the place and I need to get back on track :scared: .

Hey there! I totatlly know what you mean. Geez my treadmill broke and I just havent had the time to order the parts online! My goal for this year is to get back on my routine again, too.

It's not going to well for me so far. Today for lunch I had 2 slices of chocolate rasberry rum cake and a brownie :scared1: . But boy did it make me feel better  .

Seriously though, I'm going grocery shopping tonight to stock up on healthier foods.

Thanks Capri! I know things will get better, but you may be sorry you offered :rotfl:.

We usually take 1 big vacation a year, but I've been really stressed these last couple years since DH and I have been off and on, so we've taken 2 vacations. But the good thing about living in Southern California is that there is a lot to do in the area and we can plan inexpensive weekend trips. One of our favorite things to do in the winter is to have a picnic at the beach. We usually go in the early evening so we can watch the sun set. It's beautiful and relaxing.

Yeah the teenage years are rough and I try not to let the complaining get to me since it's normal. But I hope I survive  . But my kids are great and eventhough they have their moments, every so often there is harmony in our house. They still give me hugs and tell me they love me so the worste isn't here yet :rotfl: .

I really like the brown and pink too! Even better with a pink lanyard.
Shelly :welcome: It is nice to have another lady on board! Your DD is quite the cutie.princess: How fun for you all to live so close to Disney.:thumbsup2
I hope you all are having a great night!

I am probably going to book this shuttle http://graylineanaheim.com/index.cfm. I am afraid of riding in a taxi alone...I think I watch too many movies.

Hi Everyone:wave2:
Well, I am for sure coming Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. I checked the CCI website and saw their rates went up since the last time I was there and deciding to shop around a little to see what else was out there. Well, lo and behold, Expedia has The Menage at $76 (plus tax) a night - so I pounced on it! I have wanted to check it out since it changed hands and was refurbished and I could not resist the rate. It does not include a free dedicated shuttle or breakfast like CCI, but it's ok, now I can stay two nights for a little more than the price of one at CCI. Plus with Expedia you prepay, so I am paying now which means more $$ for April. I am excited for all the meals, pix, Albort hunting and pure DLR fun we are going to have:goodvibes . I don't post too much, but read every couple of days. Talk to you all soon.

Oh, and I'm good with both shirts, I think one for Fri and one for Sat would be fun.:cutie:

I thought about the Menage, too! The name, those column things outside...it's all too intriguing. Hey, let's switch the party over to the Menage! ;)

I'm almost afraid to admit it, but I have found Albort 2 times! Before we pounce on him, maybe I should talk to him about it?:confused3 He has to keep up his image you know!!!:rotfl:
I think if I was him, it would be pretty fun to be the only male in a "sea of women!!!!":cool1:

I've never used a lanyard before. Is it mainly for pin trading?? Or holding you tickets?

And are most of the ladies still going to CCI? I was thinking of making ressies there or at BWPPI, and was kind of wondering what to do?

Another very good tidbit for those getting tickets. The pay for 3 days/good for 5 days hoppers are good to use up to the 24th of April. But you have to activate it on the 24th, or it will expire. After you activate it, it is good up to 14 days after. So for anyone who needs a good deal, I'd go for it. My Sis is going to do it.

Wow I've missed a bit of conversation over the past day. Anyway I like both the brown and black shirts (as well as the girl in the martini glass). Beth I think the dinner outside the park on both Thursday and Saturday will work quite nicely.

Tinkermell - I was wondering about the pay for 3 and get 5 ticket promotion. Thanks for that information.

Steph

Hello!! I am back from dl!! Well, I have been back for about a week, but seeing as how dh hasnt really had any time off for the past few months we decided that we needed to have some family time. Not to mention some time to work on that whole trying to have another baby thing.:rolleyes1 :lmao:

I am glad I read through this thread... I was really thinking about canceling this trip. Ds's spring break is just a bit before it, and I was thinking that we should take a family trip... But since I read this, I said pshaw... I spend enough time with them, right?:lmao: :lmao: I will most likely fly into LAX, it is the cheapest for me.

Trust me Beth... You are SOO not the only one who needs a plus sized shirt!:lmao: I am hoping to loose a little wieght before the trip, but we all know how that goes!:lmao:

Melody!!! Stay at the CCI. Please!! For me? You know you wanna!! ;)

Who wants to see the cutest pic ever? My dd, who HATES Characters, and most things about DL... Actually went up to Minnie. I was BAWLING!!! :cloud9:

It's so hard to get on track. But I have heard from more then one person that the Lean Cuisine Paninis (sp?) are really good.

A picnic on the beach sounds wonderful. I am really missing the beach and coast right now. Hence the pic in my sig.
Oh, and the hugs make it all worth it. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Gotta stay away from those horror flicks.... lol

I'm sorry to hear you won't be at the CCI. That's too bad the prices went up. BUT sounds like you got a good deal!! Hopefully the refurbishment will be a good one. You'll have to let us know.

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I think I'm going to stick with CCI. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I've heard so many great things about it, I just have to see for myself. LOL

Thanks, I think so too. At least for now. Tomorrow I will add that to the front page.

Shhhhhhh.....:ssst:

IF we do it, we want it to be a fun surprise for him.:rolleyes1 :goodvibes

But he won't have to worry. We would never give up his secret identity!:thumbsup2

Oh, and by the way, today I made my reservation for the CCI.:woohoo:
