MammaU4, if you need a ride to the hotel from the train station, let us know. DD or myself can try to pick you up and get you to the CCI.
Hi Linda, thank you so much. That is really nice of you to offer. Once I figure out for sure what I am doing, I'll let you know. Thanks again!!

Hello ladies. It sounds like most everyone has had a great holiday season. I have never been this busy during December and will need a few days of sleep to recover. Luckily, I have a short trip scheduled to Hawaii in 2 weeks.

Back in November, I took pictures of the restaurants that were being discussed. I need to get those pictures posted.

I love all the tshirt designs. Thanks to those that have spent their time and talents working on them.

I also wanted to give personal thanks to Beth. You have made all the women here feel so welcome. Thank you for your warm spirit and hospitable nature.

I hope that 2008 finds each of us healthy and happy.
Hi Lesley, good to see you. I think we are all going to be ready for a vacation once these holidays are over! LOL But lucky you, you get to take off for Hawaii in 2 weeks! That's great. I hope you have a wonderful, and more importantly a relaxing time. ;)

Oh, and I'm glad everyone feels welcome. I try. I know it's hard to commit to taking off on a vacation with a bunch of women you've never met. Even harder when those women have already been chatting on a thread that is over 80 pages long.

So I hope that everyone feels welcome, and is excited to take off on this trip, and to any lurkers who are thinking of joining but just not sure..... well, stop thinking about it and come join us!!
I mean it when I say, the more the merrier!! :)

Beth, I went onto Amtrak to see if there's a train. It's odd, but there's not a train, but there's an AMTRAK motorcoach. It's $38 each way, leaves at 8:50 and gets you into Union Station at 2:55. Then, it's an easy transfer to the metro train that takes you to Anaheim. Not sure if that's a good option for you, but it's not a plane and would get you in to Anaheim at a reasonable time.

Another option, according to Expedia, you could order a rental car from Payless rental for $62.00 (plus fees) total for 4/24-4/28. It might be a nice option, give you some flexibility while you're there. Then, you might even be able to meet up with the Palmdale/Apple valley group, too.

Hi Michelle, thank you for checking on those options for me. I appreciate it. I'm really going to try to get in as early as I can. I just don't want to miss a minute of the fun. :yay:

T-UPDATE:

Understanding that there may be some ladies who are more comfortable in a larger shirt. . .

My dh has done some more extensive searching and has found one other option of a Hanes v-neck fitted t-shirt that goes up to XXXL (b/c they are fitted, you should order a size up). It is only available in black or pink though. No brown available. So we could do black shirt with pink logo, or pink shirt with brown logo.

They are in the same price range. I will probably start the poll over with only shirts that go up to a XXL or larger, but can't do it tonight. We're heading out for the evening.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Hi Callie, I didn't vote yet. I think all the shirts look great! Thank you to you and your husband for all the work you are putting into this.

Um, I'm not sure, but I think I might be the only one who needs a plus size.
So if that's the case, I don't want to be the reason that the other ladies choices are limited, kwim? I don't have to have a shirt if it doesn't work out.

I'd rather do without and have the others be able to order the ones they want. That would make me happier.
Anyways, just wanted you to know that when looking at the options and making the poll. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful night tonight! Have a safe and Happy New Year. Talk to you all in 2008. ;)

Well my vote is for whatever works for EVERYONE!!! I've already voted for the one that comes in XXL. We all need to look like we belong together. Besides, I think we will get alot of compliments, and some people might even ask us "Where did you buy your T-shirt? It's so cute" :goodvibes

I totally agree!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I like them all so whatever works for the group is what gets my vote.:)

Beth, ummmm . . . NO, our fearless leader WILL be wearing a t-shirt like the rest of us!! ;) My dh is working right now on the options w/ v-necks that go up to XXXL. Are you ok with a fitted if it goes up to that size?

I will go with whatever works for everyone!! Callie on the original vote sheet, we never had a choice of lime green. Was that because you couldn't do it???

Would it be possible to do pink shirt with green, or black with green? Just wondering??

Thanks!

Mel

Mel, I tallied the first responses to the initial two shirts and it seemed that pink won out over lime green. My dh tried a few black w/lime green options, and honestly they looked a little bit "Halloweeney".

If people are interested, my dh could make name-tags which would include our names with our screen-name under it and they could be on lime green mickey heads. He even offered to do lanyards that are LGMH-shaped with our names on them. Anyone want lanyards? This is getting too fun! :lmao:

I love the idea of the lanyards. I'm a huge scrapbooker and now I have all these ideas going through my head.
I am so looking forward to this trip.

I think that would work. Thanks Callie. :)

And I want a lanyard and/or a name tag!!! :yay: :yay: :lmao: At least those are items I KNOW will fit me. :rotfl2:

But I know you are a busy lady so as fun as this is, we don't want you to take on too much and end up over worked, kwim?
If there's anything I can do please don't hesitate to ask.

Me too!! Well, not the scrapbooking part. LOL I mean on the looking forward to the trip part. :rotfl:

I think once things from the holidays have calmed down and the kiddos are back in school (mine don't go back until the 7th!) then we can get back to focusing on the details and chatting more. :hyper2:

HELLO LADIES!!!!

Its been a very busy couple of weeks. I am looking forward to a few quiet weeks, so I can catch up on my house cleaning.:laundy:

Hi, again!
It has been so quiet here. Beth is right, it should probably start picking up around here when the kids go back to school. I am loving this time right now because I am on vacation from work AND school. I do have two big projects due on the 13th. I work best under pressure...so they can wait just a bit longer.:surfweb:

I noticed that the trip falls during the Food and Wine Festival. I have never been to the one is California before. Has anyone ever been?

I am chomping at the bit to buy a plane ticket. The best deal I have seen is flying BOI-LAX nonstop on Horizon for 238.00...that is an excellent deal. I have never flown into LA alone. I am a bit nervous. I am planning on taking a shuttle to the hotel. If I booked this I would be flying in on Thurs night at about 7...getting to Anaheim probably about 8:30pm. I am flying out on Sunday afternoon. Has anyone had any experience going to DL from LAX? Is the traffic REALLY bad or is it just a little bad.

It falls on the Food and Wine Festival?? How cool is that? I've always wanted to try that! :woohoo:

OK people. I'm committing. To at least a day. Two days. 2.5 days? :scared:

I'm a bit scared, but since I can't go to the micechat gumball rally this month (falls on the same day as DH's company's big party!) and reality really seems to say that I can't go on all the alone days I want PLUS this PLUS going in May for DS's birthday...I'm going to focus on this.

I didn't vote, is it too late? It's not a new year's resolution, but I do have a resolution to stop the control stuff to the greatest extent I can do so, and go with the flow, so I'm sure you guys have chosen a good shirt or two. :)

And I want a lanyard. And a nametag.

I want it all!!!!!!

Guess I gotta check out the prices of those CCI rooms, b/c the one thing I don't want is a roomie that I would keep up by my snoring!!!

I decided not to book any flights just yet...I wanna wait to see if I get a better fare elsewhere. I wish I lived close enough to drive.

Molly, it is nice to see that you are most likely going to come on the trip! You are going in May, too! You are one lucky gal.:thumbsup2

Hi Lisa! I hear ya on the house work. If I skip even two days of doing laundry, it seems to take forever to get caught back up.
Good luck with it all.

Hey January. Wow, that would put you in really late on Thursday then.
I'm hoping to get in as early as possible on Thursday but I'm still not sure.....

That is so cool!! Yet another reason to be solo so we can enjoy the festival! :cool1:

That's great news Molly!! So we hear 2.5 days..... do we hear 3??? ;)

I'm glad you'll be there!! I think you'll have a great time and won't regret it.

Beth I love that picture you have, the one about the umbrella in the drink.

I really can't make DH take days off for MY vacation...so I figure catching a flight after he's done with work, then coming back in before he has to go to work again is as much as I can do. Though secretly I've only looked at flights home on Sunday, LOL, which is AFTER he goes back to work. Dunno how that will work, as we have no trustworthy grandparents and DS has never been alone with DH for 2, 2.5 days, let alone with a sitter-type for a day before I get back home! :confused3

So we're not quite sure what on earth we're doing, allowing this plan to go forth, but it's early Jan and the trip is late April...we'll figure something out. fingers crossed.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Sounds like everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was great but I was pretty sick. I also got a new NEPHEW! He is just so awesome. Thank God I can't have any more kids or there would be a problem!! :lmao: Really though, how can someone be just so perfect? :confused3

I voted on the t-shirts. I kinda have to be careful cuz I have red hair. Brown works well for me and a small amount of pink is ok. I love the idea of lanyards and name tags. And I also think everyone needs a shirt, no matter what!

I haven't booked a flight yet either. I am waiting for a better price and I still haven't decided if I want to fly in Thursday night after work or early Friday. I work right by the airport so it would be convenient to catch a ride.

Have a great day everyone!

Well, I understand. Although like you said, it's still a ways out, and as long as you are there even for part of the time, I think it will give you the break you need, and you'll still have fun.

Oh, and about the pic, I took the one with the lady in it down. She was scaring some people on another thread. LOL But I like this one since it has a fun drink in it and it still has the same saying.

Funny because I don't drink, but I still love the looks of a pretty drink with a fun umbrella in it. Something about that just screams vacation. :rotfl: I can just sit there and hold it. I don't have to actually drink it.;)
