I could actually call in sick on Friday since I have sick days to use , but since I'm a single parent, it would be hard to find someone to take my kids to school . My parents don't mind watching my kids, since they are pretty independent, but they don't like taking or picking up my kids from school unless it's an emergency .

I'm going to go ahead and stay at CCI since I've always wanted to try it anyway. I'll just rent or trade my extra DVC points for some cash for the trip.

So do I go ahead and make a reservation now or are we waiting for a group code or something??

So, now it seems that my friends..if they come will just be for the day, so I would LOVE LOVE to share a room with a nonsmoker Thursday night and Friday night...or just one or different people each night. It won't make or break me going on the trip, but it would be a little easier financially to go "halfsies!!"

I've posted on the Dis Meets thread, but find as often happens and I am death to a thread. At least I try to go for humane euthansia, fast and complete, no lingering with me!!!!

Since I can only go Thursday and Friday, I won't be in on the weekend tours. Does anyone want to do the Segway Friday morning? I am going to DL with family and friends the 10th and 11th of December and all the adults but me are doing it as I get to take the DD7 to the Plaza Inn for breakfast. (which will be a blast!!). We are staying at the Park Vue...looking forward to the upgrading to CCI in April!!!

Oh, and THANKYOU to everyone who is doing all of the investigating, so the rest of us can just tag along!!!

Hi Amy! You are not the death to any thread. LOL I think as far as the roomies go, it's still early on and even though several have expressed interest in sharing a room and cutting costs, it's a little hard when we are still getting to know each other.

BUT having said that, for those interested in having a room mate, if you see someone you think you'd click with, or who will be there the same dates as you, then just bite the bullet and go for it. Send a PM and just introduce yourself, and ask if they'd be interested in sharing a room for certain days.

The worse they can say is no, and then your no worse off then you were before. And if they say yes, then you BOTH just saved yourself 52 bucks a night!!!

Also remember we have a few months still before the trip, so even if you don't find a roomie in the next few days/weeks doesn't mean you won't before the trip arrives, once we've all been chatting for a while.

So those of you hoping to share a room, don't get discouraged.

Only two more and we have our 15!! But even with 13 he might okay it. (fingers crossed) I'd feel more comfortable with more though, just in case......

Important info about Candy Cane Inn


Hello ladies!!

OKay, I just received a phone call from the Candy Cane Inn. Nick, the front desk manager contacted me. He was very nice and answered all my questions.

Soooo, here we go.......

It is supposed to be 15 rooms for a group rate BUT he said if we are close to that (not sure exactly what close is, maybe 13 or more) then he'd still give us the group rate.

The group rate is $104 a night plus tax and that's for each the night, including Friday and Saturday which are typically higher.

(AAA was $102 on Thurs, $113 on Fri, $113 on Sat, and $102 on Mon.)

We do NOT all have to be arriving or departing on the same dates. So if some ladies will be there Thurs-Mon, and some are only there Fri-Sun, he said that's ok.

Also if between now and then we have some cancel and we drop below the 15 rooms, he said he'd still let us keep the group rate.

Finally, another nice thing is that we can all make payment arrangements seperately. What he'll do is block off a section of rooms for us, and then we can either fax or email him with the reservations info, and either send a check or give a credit card which ever each individual prefers to do.

So bottom line is it sounds pretty good. He seemed really willing to work with us. Now I guess we just need to know how many rooms we are looking at. If you read this and it sounds good to you, and you'd like to try the CCI, let me know, either here or in a PM so I can figure out if we are anywhere close to having the 15 rooms.
