Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

Unfortunately the image of the girl in the martini glass comes just that way. I can't change the glass that she's in. Really, I don't think people are going to associate the martini glass with alcohol. I just thought it was a fun, funky, sophisticated looking 1960s image of a woman (like Mary Tyler Moore).

But if people have an actual problem with the design, or some kind of perceived message it sends, then we should just scrap that particular design all together.

Okay, no problem then. I don't think anyone has any serious objections to it.
Like I said, I like it alot! And I don't drink. I'm pretty much ok with anything.

I consider myself pretty conservative, and I honestly don't have a huge problem with the martini glass. I understand many of the ladies are wanting the shirts to be a little "sexy" and reflect that we're not on "mommy duty" during this little trip.

I had more of an issue with the whole "Girls Gone Wild" connection, which made me think we would be expected to flash our sexy new t-shirts around DLR in an inappropriate manner (if you KWIM?)

I've been trying to talk my dh (who is a graphic designer) into making a t-shirt design for us. He's willing, but doesn't have a lot of time this week. Would anyone object to seeing another design? I really don't want to take away from al the hard work Capri has done.

I'm assuming the t-shirt decision doesn't need to be made for a few months, right?

Nope, we have time. Maybe we can get a few designs from anyone who's willing to submit them, and then we can do a poll.

I can't help but feel that way because I've really worked hard trying to organize a group shirt order, and I put a lot of time into the shirt designs the last few days, but I can't object to others wanting to submit other options/designs because I want everyone to be happy.

I honestly had no intention of creating something that was offensive, so I apologize to anyone that may have been offended.

I think I'll step out of this part of our planning and let others have a go at it.

No, I really like the martini glass. I do drink, not martini's but I really, really like this shirt. I think it makes me think if I could, I would be that girl, but of course I never was or will be. She is carefree, sexy and a big flirt, but still has some class. That is why I like it. I will go with whatever the majority votes for, but aren't we a bunch of moms in our 30's-40's who are trying to be carefree and hang loose for a weekend?

Awww!! Dont feel hurt! I think you did a great job! I love the martini shirt... but I have to admit... It takes an AWFUL lot to offend me! I know that I appreciate what you have done. (As I sit here trying to plan a family trip for 9 to DL over Christmas... and my mom deciding to switch the meals at the last minute...)

Capri, I was afraid you would be offended. I'm so sorry.

My only intent was to offer a design that didn't come from a stock image t-shirt company. The shirts that come from these kinds of companies are low quality, really thin. What I was offering was my dh's original design and a deal on better quality shirts. But if the majority is happy with the #1 design you did, then I'll just have him forget it (which would be no big loss to his ego, really).

I'm sorry I rocked the boat.

I hate not being able to log on at night. It seems like that is when everyone has big ole conversations! Oh well.

About the shirts... I am an extremely conservative person too, but I love the martini glass design. Yeah I would rather it be a margarita glass but it really isn't that big of a deal! As long as margaritas are still our official moms-without-kids-on-vacation drink! (That deserved TWO banana guys). Capri - please don't be hurt! You put a lot of hard work into it and we do like it.

On the other hand - we had pretty much decided to go with two shirts, right? Maybe Callie's DH could come up with one more?

Seriously, I'm fine with DangerMouse's hubby (or whomever else) designing us a custom shirt.

I'm not an artist, so I did what I could with stock images, and I don't want us to end up with thin, low quality t-shirts (although the type and weight of the material, as well as the brand name of shirt, is clearly stated on CustomInk). There's no need to order two shirts. That'll make me feel even worse because then on one day everyone will be wearing this great custom shirt, and another day everyone will have on some crummy, boring stock design (that cleary everyone isn't happy with).

I want the group to be happy and satisfied, and maybe there will be an outrageously awesome custom design that really portrays the "DisBoard ladies only" trip to DL. I think it could be cool, and I'm all for it.

Let's just take the shirt designs I submitted out of the equation. PLEASE. At this point it would actually make me feel better (if you know what I mean).

The shirt was not offensive, and everyone said they liked it and would order it no matter what. Please don't back out. This trip will only be a success if we all participate and have a say in the planning. We may not all agree 100% but we can all come to an compromise and have a great time!!

Capri, the group will be happy. We like what you've done. Heck, I'm going to be there for 5 days!! I can use more then one shirt.

I'll take your post out of the front page if that's what you really, really want. But please reconsider. There is no way one person can organize this whole trip.

It's one thing for me to get the ball rolling, but I really need others to step up and do what they can whether that be overseeing a tee, or doing research, or making reservations, etc. We can all work together to make this an amazing trip that will hopefully become an annual outing.

I'd still like to keep your shirt in, but I will respect what ever decision you make.

Please don't remove the shirt choices!!! I know that some t-shirt website are the cheaper, thinner t-shirts, but it doesn't look like these are. I think I'm the only one who likes the castle shirt better, but that's okay. I would still get the martini glass shirt if that's the winning choice. And if possible, would like to also get the castle shirt, if we decide to get 2 shirts.

The issues I have with the castle design, to me it looks too much like the .. ummm the uhhh "other" castle-- ya know the one in Florida???

But that could be just my preception.
