Okay, have a bit more time at the moment to tell you about the weekend. I don't know if I shared this before, if I did just ignore me, but I had decided to make a big deal out of the weekend for DD because both her brothers have friends coming for spring break from MN. She has been really sad that the boys have gotten a chance to see their friends but she hasn't gotten to see any of hers. While logically she might understand that they can't fly at age 5 or 6, it doesn't make it hurt less. I think she's had the hardest transition of all of the kids with the move. So, we made a whole weekend, and we did it in style with just Zoe and Mommy.
Zoe and I left San Diego around 12:30. She fell asleep right outside of Oceanside, so it was a quiet trip. We got up to Anaheim a bit after two. Although it was overcast and nasty in San Diego, it was beautiful in Anaheim. We went to the Character Warehouse (boy do they have some great deals!). It was our first trip there. Then we went to her choice for lunch, and she chose Taco Bell!
We checked in to HoJo's a bit after 3. I had gotten DD a Hannah Montana bag with a t-shirt and hair thingy and socks and book. After a bit of pantomime, the staff took it up to our room so that it was there when we got up there. She was excited, but at first thought someone had left it there.
We pretty immediately went down to the pool, we wanted to take advantage of the nice weather while we still had it (I heard it was supposed to get pretty nasty later on.) When we got down there, there were a few girls and more came and went while we were there, so Zoe had a great time. I pretty much stayed in the hot tub. We hung out in the room afterwards for about an hour and then went to DtD.
We wandered around the shops a bit, I got a hot chocolate at La Brea (boy, food is so much more expensive at DLR than at Sea World...and the hot choc. wasn't quite as good, though not bad or anything). We went to Build a Bear where DD made an adorable blue snow bear with a matching blue dress.
DD was then finally hungry. I discovered the hard way (no, the REALLY hard way, with a tired and hungry DD) that White Water Snacks isn't open at 7pm. I had planned to then get something at McDonalds across the street on the way back, but she was too tired and hungry, so we ended up eating hot dogs at Wetzels. Not a good choice, for either of us, but the pepperoni pretzel was pretty good.
We walked back to the hotel at a brisk pace and got back in just enough time to get in our jammies and robes and watch the fireworks. Great view.
Next day, we got up, had breakfast in our room and were lazy, then had McDonalds for lunch and headed back to DtD. Zoe had an appt. at Club Libby Lu to get herself done up for the Hannah Montana concert movie. She wanted one that they were out of, so I paid extra to buy the Hannah Montana hair piece so they could do it. She looked adorable.
I had heard we needed to get to Hannah Montana line VERY early, so we were there by 2 for the 3 showing. Good thing we were, too, as there was already a pretty good line when we got there. Zoe loved the show, sang most of the songs.
My friend (who's coming with to the Lady's trip) met us with her DD for Hannah Montana. We went to the Rainforest Cafe afterwards. Then we played at Lego for a few minutes and drove back down to San Diego.
We had a great weekend. It was nice to only have one child to focus on. I kinda wish we had brought Daddy with us, though. Hard to do with the other two.
Well, this became a more lengthy post than I had intended. Sorry about that for those who made it through!
