Just stopped by to say 'Aloha!' We're leaving for Hawaii tomorrow. I will be back before Feb 15th, which is the day when you can call for DCA's Food & Wine events. Unfortunately they haven't actually posted the events yet, so I guess I'll be surprised when I get back. I'm waiting to sign up for group dinners until I see what is offered for F&W.

I'm rooming with Dagny (as you have listed - you are so effecient!) I believe we are coming in Thursday night and leaving Sunday.

It's pouring here in So.California today. I usually love the rain, but today I have some last minute errands to do, and I wish it would stop. :(

Talk to you all when I get back.

Hey Beth, remind me of the smiley site you use? I don't want to rummage through the last 50 pages to find it. Thanks!

Hope you all are having a nice Sunday. The show was pretty good. I was a bit upset that the Little Einsteins were 'real' people as opposed to costumed characters. The kids didn't seem to mind too much.

January - I know what you mean about the $$. It was expensive for the 5 of us. I bought the tickets in September when we had some 'found' money, otherwise we wouldn't have gone either. Besides the tickets are just the beginning, the cost of those overly priced souveniers adds to it.

Sure. It's www.bestsmileys.com :thumbsup2

Hey glad you had fun!! That's cool. :thumbsup2

Those shows are so pricey. We did the Disney on Ice Princess Wishes not long ago and while it was really nice, for me and the twins it was $130.

The Princess souvenirs were insanely overpriced, so all we ended up with was a bucket of popcorn and some cotton candy for $20.
Then DH took the older two bowling so they'd have something to do while we watched the show, and that was another $30.

So for about 2 hours of entertainment it was around $180!!! :headache: I won't do that again anytime soon. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but afterwards I thought "Man, that could have been a one night hotel stay and food for Disneyland!!" :rotfl:

Oh well, they had fun. Live and learn.

Hi, ladies! Wow, Beth...that is pricey! I am glad I only have one!
My DH is so funny....he knows I am still sad about the whole thing...so we are going to take Maddie to the movies and to Maggie Moo's on Friday night. Is that considered a date night??:rotfl:

Steph....I am glad you guys got to go! Souvies are a weakness for me. Then once I get home I am like, WHY did I buy this??

OMG I said that exact thing when we got home. DH opened ds's door to get him out of the car seat. Well ds dropped his toy of the floor while we were driving home and we didn't realize it. So when the door opens it falls on the garage floor and breaks. We have tried everything to get this toy to work. Needless to say I'm pretty upset that a toy for preschoolers broke on 1 drop. I called their customer service department and they said someone will call me back within 72 hours and get us a new one. I'm still not happy about this but they are being very nice about the situation. Sorry for rambling.

No need to apologize. I feel the same as you. I am glad that they are replacing the item for you. Maddie broke her Tinkerbell spinny light thing at DL the same night we bought it and I went to get her a new one from the same CM...the CM took the broken one and said the replacement was free. I thought that was really nice. I hardly ever see nice CM's at DL anymore. So, I was surprised and very grateful!:thumbsup2

Yeah, having four kids just breaks the bank sometimes.

Wow, you've got plans for a Friday night! Whoo hoo!! :cool1: OKay so maybe it's not exactly the same as it used to be, LOL, but hey, it sounds pretty good. ;)
What movie are you going to see?

My DH is not into souvenirs at all so we rarely buy them. Which is good. We have too much "stuff" around already. LOL

You're not rambling at all. :) I'm sorry that happened. Seriously a toy made for the pre-school age really needs to be made better then that. I'm glad they are going to get you a new one, even though it is a hassle.

We are probably going to the dollar movie...they have a ticket for 3.00 that includes movie, drink, popcorn (butter or caramel) or a candy. Not too shabby. For the three of us getting this ticket is 50 cents more than just a movie ticket at Regal. Right now at that theater the only two movies for Maddie are Bee Movie and Water Horse. They are also showing Sweeney Todd. Didn't that just come out?

Wait, a movie ticket, drink and popcorn for 3 bucks??? Wow. That's awesome. Shoot, the theaters here are between $7.50 for the matinee and $10.

The popcorn and drinks are even worse.

I heard Bee Movie is cute. Sweeney Todd seems too gruesome for me, even though I do like Johnny Depp.

Yes, ma'am...$3.00. The tickets at Regal are 8.50 per person. The last time we went to the movies at Regal with Maddie we saw Enchanted. It was almost $50.00!!:sad2: That was with drinks and popcorn for me and Brent and the kid's pack for Maddie. EXPENSIVE!

We will most likely take her to see that. Sweeney Todd looks like something I won't like. It seems to have made it to the dollar movie very quickly.

The movies are expensive. I remember when DH and I were dating waaayyyy back when, lol, we could see a matinee for $3.50 and now the matinee prices are what the full prices used to be.

A lot of times I'll see previews for a movie and really want to see it, but never make it to the theater. Then when we finally rent it, I'm always so glad we didn't waste $30 or $40 on it. LOL

The last movie we saw as a family was Enchanted, then DH and I saw Untraceable the other day, which wasn't bad. But going to the movies is still a rarity for us.

I wish we had a dollar theater here.

Beth, sorry I disappeared without saying goodbye...I was doing homework and got distracted...then dinner.
I hope you have a good night!:goodvibes

That's an awesome deal. I wish I knew where our local dollar theater is. We end up waiting for the DVD because it ends up being cheaper than 5 tickets, popcorn, etc.

Hope you all have a nice evening.

Just back from HoJo's Anaheim and Zoe and my girls weekend. I'll post more later and share about the weekend, but I'm tuckered out so I'm just checking in. We had a great time and managed to miss the freakishly nasty rains! Whoo hoo.
