LOL about the cookies.I've met up with people "from online" before...it's always a bit odd to get ready for (worrying that someone is, as DH once said, "a big galoot"), and then there's a moment of ACK when you meet, but then usually things are fine.
About the Saturday...that could always be a DTD shopping/eating/movie-viewing day for AP holders who don't want to pay for the day.Of course, I bet that would cause FAR more expenditures than just $40!

Today I'm pretending that I am not here. Just been making plans for our December trip and trying to ignore the "boys". They made cookies, sitting on the living room floor.DH said that he wanted everything to be at DS's level, rather than dealing with the kitchen. Guess he forgot the whole point of buying that tall kitchen chair/stepstool, eh?

You got that huh?![]()
I thought others could benefit from your experience.

Okay, I was volunteering at my daughter's school for International Day on Friday, and two different people wanted to know if my daughter had to work today. Hmmm...my daughter is 7..dressed as a little swedish girl....not at work... They had assumed my 30 year old Nanny (was our Nanny when we needed one, now she just picks the kid up from school on occassion), was Claire's mother, which makes me the Grandmother. Yep---Grandma!!![]()

Okay, I am old enough at 46 to be a G'ma, but unless I had a kid at 16 (again, possible), how is the Nanny my daughter!! I was not particularly flattered!!!
So, here I was feeling all young and cool...and they think I'm a grandmother.
So, a bit sensitive today perhaps!!!
But, no fear....I don't have the maturity of a Grandmother!!!!!![]()
Yep, we should all thank you! Someone has to be the guinea pig and see what works and what doesn't....Im glad I could stand as the example of how NOT to mention it!![]()

Nice continental breakfast, bagels, bread with jams and cream cheese or peanut butter, several cereals and milk, croissants, muffins and pastries. coffee, juice and hot chocolate, also bananas and apples.
Any other "old ladies", over 40 going? Amy
First of all, I love your plan for your DH!!!My DSS says to add my age, so 3+3=6. But I kinda like being my shoe size more, at least Id be 9.
I think Ill just act like Ive told DH about this trip for a long long time. And he must have just forgotten in the midst of planning his big Memorial Day motorcycle trip.![]()
I was talking to DSIL and remembered the $$ for the Hojo, its $59 a night for non-park view and $69 for park-view with the entertainment card discount. I guess Im kinda partial to there. Ive stayed there twice in the last year. The other times were at timeshares. Id be game to stay somewhere else, if the rates are as good.![]()
It was when I was there from May 8th to the 12th (upgraded to an AP on Saturday). I dont think there would be anything happening during that time. I can call tomorrow and check. When we were there a few weeks ago for 6 nights with taxes was $480.
DH might get courious when all we have for dinner is ramen noodles and soup.![]()
Sure! Oh, I was also going to suggest that if anyone wants to give their first names, I can make and post a list so we can start learning them.We should do a quiz to get to know eachother.![]()

You need to buy those entertainment books that are good for your area. At least I think that's how. lol I'm new to this part. But I do have one of those books, so if we end up there, then I'm good to go.And right after you find out if those rates are good for the trip dates....find out how one gets and the price of the Entertainment card.
That price rocks! Like Beth says, the rooms are mostly for sleeping. The Desert Inn and Suites seemed like a good choice too. The 2 double beds and the separate living room. Maybe you should get at least one of those for the Ladies Party night you'll have to plan. You'll have a theme drink for this trip too, won't you.![]()

Anyone of you HOJO experts happen to know off hand what amenities they have? Free breakfast? Fridge and/or micro in room? Shuttle? Thanks!
Oh, and as for a theme drink, lol, I have no clue.![]()
Here's my confession, I really don't drink.![]()
I'm not opposed to it, I've just never found a drink I like.I've tried and tried to become a drinker but so far, no luck.

Although, I recently tried a Fuzzy Navel and it wasn't bad!So maybe there's hope for me yet.
So if you don't drink, don't worry, you aren't alone. And if you do, don't worry. We'll make sure you stagger back to your room safely.![]()

I consider myself a HoJo expert (you can see how many times I have stayed there in my sig line). I have never stayed there without using the ent. rate. I do DLR trip planning as a side business and send all my clients to the HoJo as well.
The HoJo does not offer any kind of continental breakfast. All their rooms have refrigerators, but only some (office rooms and suites) offer microwaves. The ART shuttle is available, but the hotel is about an 8 minute walk to the esplanade. MiMi's Cafe is right across the street and has awesome food. If there is anything else you need to know about their rooms/bldgs. let me know. I pretty much know the layout like the palm of my hand.
Oh, my name is Callie.![]()
