Hi everyone, I have a request on behalf of the candy buffet. I've received 17 responses thus far and the majority of people are bring some sort of chocolate. Some of you have asked what you can bring so in response here are some things I think would be fun to have at in the candy buffet and sort of what I need to pull together the whole theme I was hoping to have for the candy buffet:

• pixie sticks
• gumdrops
• button candies (usually pink, blue, & green on a sheet of paper)
• salt water taffy
• swirl lollipops
• gummy bears

and any other fun candies you can think of!

Beth I am glad you had a fun weekend and sorry it ended on a sour note. I hope Noelle is feeling better. I HATE when my kids are sick to their stomach. Esp when they can't make it to the bathroom. YUCK! Hope that wasn't the case. And again I hope she is doing better!!

Sarah I am sorry your little one has pink eye. Katy got double pink eye last year at our soccer tournament and it was SO bad that it cropped up within a few hours. She was perfectly fine at the beginning of the day and by the end her one I was almost swollen shut. Then she went to bed and it got in her OTHER eye. Be careful with your son cuz I did EVERYTHING to keep Shelby away and she STILL got it. They were both out of school for a WEEK! ((hugs)) and I hope she is better soon!!

Bree I loved your pics on FB and I hope you had a GREAT b-day!! Looks like you did!

Jane I will be thinking good thoughts and prayers for you guys on the job front. It is still pretty ugly for us too. Shane came home AGAIN early yesterday and isn't working today. It sucks cuz in order to get unemployment he basically has to miss the entire week and then if he DOES work he only gets a piddly check. It is better if he either works the entire week or not at all so he can get the UE. SOOOO frustrating. The ONLY good thing is we need to take our dog to the vet to get his annual shots and I can't take him by myself cuz he is just sooo big and hard to deal with so I am going to call this morning and see if I can get him in and then Shane has this weird cyst type thing on his back so we are going to try and get him in to the doc too. The BAD part is all this stuff costs money and I HATE to spend it since we STILL have yet to get a check. He SHOULD be getting an UE check sometime soon and he WILL get one from working this week but it will prob be small.

Anyway thanks so much Heather for the thoughts about the whole Lynn situation. We got a call from her mom's latest husband (no 5) and apparently she had run off from the people she was staying with sometimes last week and is now with her mom again. NOT the best situation because her mom is an alcoholic and drug addict and there is a LOT of domestic violence in that household. In fact when Shane got a hold of her she said that after the husband called us at 3 AM!! He and the mom had gotten in a fist fight over Lynn being there and the cops were called and he was arrested for beating up her mom. NICE place! Her mom has been arrested for beating people up too. Lynn told us she NEVER wanted to talk to her mom again after everything she had done to her and sure as heck she is right back with her. It just disgusts me as a parent after EVERYTHING Shane and I have done for her to try and give her a decent life and she just RUNS back to chaos. We were trying to help her get into the military as that was her last hope of going anywhere but she just doesn't want to DO anything. I don't know I give up. She will be 18 the first of Feb and even though we still have custody and are still resp for her till then Shane said if that is where she wants to be he is not going to fight it anymore. She is going to RUIN her life but we are both sick of fighting it. Now we just hope she can get through the next few weeks without getting into trouble. Technically she is still on probation till she turns 18 but unless she gets into trouble Shane is just going to let it go. I think she is making a HUGE mistake but you can't tell her anything and I am done beating my head against the wall. I KNEW she would eventually end back with her mom because she has burned every single other bridge here but so be it. Anyway I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and hopefully this is the end of it and I can just move on and stop worrying about it!

And Heather I am so happy for you that things are going well with the pregnancy!! Congrats!

I had planned to work on our corp taxes some more today but since Shane is home we need to get this stuff done so it looks like I will be running errands today.

Happy super Tuesday divas!!

Today I’m working and that’s it for now!

Deb – I need to start keeping track of what I’m eating and what triggers it. I was eating fast food A LOT (before the new year), but it didn’t start hurting until 2 weeks ago, so I can’t pin point if a particular food triggers it. The doctor said it could be my gall bladder and just because I’m skinny we can’t rule it out. But she did ask if it hurt all the way to my back because a gall bladder attack does that, but mine doesn’t. I had acid reflux one time and it hurt my chest and when I burped I tasted my food (gross) and it burned all up my chest. I’m guessing she may be right about the indigestion, because only until recently have I had gastric issues. I got really bad heart burn for the first time last month and a little before that is when I got acid reflux for the first time. I’m normally pretty tough when it comes to my tummy and all this is happening at once. I guessing I’m getting older?

Cristabel – I’m going to PM you with my candy choice right now. I hope there’s more non-chocolate things girls bring!

Kelly – You and Shane are saints for helping Lynn in the first place. Just think that you tried all you two can and it’s completely out of your hands if she doesn’t want any help.

Thanks courtney that means a lot. People on the outside of this whole thing don't always understand but when you are living it, it can be a real nightmare. But I REALLY appreciate your understanding and I just hope that we can finally just move on and live our lives somewhat peacefully soon!

And I am sorry I meant to comment about your condition in my post earlier but I sure hope the docs can figure out what is wrong and help you! I have recently had those same issues but have been reluctant to go in because I don't want to go through ANY more tests! With all my OTHER issues I have had SO much I am just tired of doctors and tests etc. So I have been being bad and putting it off. But I am glad you are getting it looked into and I hope it is no big deal and they can get it fixed for you. I know how much it can hurt! ((hugs))

They are having a meeting and with cutbacks the company doesn't pay for cookies and stuff to be brought in anymore. I also have to take Meghan her lunch at school. I just ran out out time to pack it this morning. I am just taking a quick coffee break right now.

Well, off to get the coffee cake out of the oven and put some cookies in.

Hello ladies!!

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was great. Had a lot of fun with Theresa and Jane.
Last night it was right back to reality though. As soon as I got home, Noelle was vomiting and continued to do so most of the night. She's much better now so it was probably something she ate, but I am soooooo tired.

I had a lot of fun at the piano bar and tea party this weekend! Today was spent at school and I dropped by my mom's work to say hello. Tonight is Margarita Monday at Acapulco so it's $2 margaritas and $1 tacos for me!

Hi everyone!

I had a good ob appointment today. Everything looks wonderful. 'Her' heartrate was 155 today, and the Doc found it immediately. I am doing well, she is going to check my thyroid since I've been so cold. My big u/s that I was worried about came back with excellent results. My risk for Down's Syndrome went from 1 in 270 to 1 in 5261, and my risk for Trisomy 18/13 went from 1 in 100 to 1 in 1178. So far, this has been the least dramatic pregnancy of my life. I hope it stays that way! My hips are starting to hurt from sleeping on my side, but my Mom purchased a featherbed for me, I can't wait to get it. I'm hoping that it will take some pressure off my hips.:

I am a walking talking ad for thyroid medication -- I dealt with symptoms for 2 years before I figured out what I needed.

Donna, It's good to know that you did get it figured out finally. Do you have any side effects? Hugs to you!

So my doctor's appointment went fine. The doctor sat and talked with me for awhile and I told her all my symptoms, she felt my stomach, back everything. She was thinking either gall stones or an ulcer, but she was leaning towards indigestion. SO, she told me to pick up some OTC medicine and try that, if that doesn't work call her ASAP. My stomach doesn't hurt anymore (this always happens when I go to the doctor's), so I'm waiting for it to hurt again (if it does) and take this stuff and see if it works.

Courtney, I hope the OTC stuff helps out. It does kind of sound like some kind of acid situation. Our family is famous for stomach issues. I blame my Dad. Hugs to you!

So went to the doctor today with my dd. She has double pink eye and an ear infection. She seems to always be ill. I am emotionally drained. It is too long a story to tell but I am glad to be home, kids are asleep (ds since about 5:30 when he fell asleep on the drive home.) Watching Extreme Makeover that I had taped yesterday. I think I will go to be early today as I have some training tomorrow.

Today was kind of a bummer at work, as we are entering yet another round of budget cuts and I have to focus on how to try to keep my programs and staff intact while continuing to do more with less. I know that I can make this next round of programmatic cuts with no real problem, but the realities of staff layoffs are becoming more and more certain. While I feel pretty secure for myself and my office as a whole, I know that many of my friends and colleagues are not as safe due to differences in how people's salaries are funded (state dollars versus student fees). Also, if you could say a little prayer to the universe, I think that Dave is much more at risk of losing his job than I am as the school he works for is quite young as an institution and doesn't have much wiggle room in their budget. Thus, I am always a little on edge as a job loss for either of us would mean needing to relocate as there would not be any opportunities in the field here in NV.

However, on a positive note, thanks to everyone who has sent me their facts already today. It has been so fun reading all of them and learning more about each of you. Nearly every single one has been a surprise to me and I think that y'all will have so much fun with this next month.

She's fine. She got sick that night, Sunday, was sick all night, and by Monday morning was fine. Just a bit tired and weak from being sick all night. She's back in school today. Must've just been something she ate.

So I am home with dd today as the childcare I had lined up backed out. Her husband was nervous about getting pink eye...can't say I blame him but it means that I am missing out on some training I was supposed to get today so I am bummed. I am getting lots done around the house but our main computer isn't working so that makes it a bit harder. Lots of laundry and I will be calling HOB today!

Hello everyone!!! I'm finally able to post, apparently, so I wanted to touch bases with you.
I am going to have to bow out of a large majority of the trip this year. Girl Scouts are having their big encampment that weekend, and as a leader I can't miss this particular event. I will come for the meet and greet, and hopefully Sunday afternoon/evening, Monday, etc. But, I won't be there any of Friday or Saturday.
Luckily, I guess, I had not been able to find a roommate yet, so I won't be letting anyone down there.
