I call my MIL Marie.....after Marie Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond".

My MIL is JUST LIKE Marie, and I'm not kidding. So that's my nickname for her. She is driving me insane latey, along with Justin, my mom and dad, Cathy (my friend), and everyone else she's around. Mainly, it's her mouth, or actually, what comes out of it.

It's really funny watching it on the show, but living it is another thing entirely. LOL.

Gotcha - and that must suck!! I was very lucky because my MIL lived far, far away and barely spoke English, so no problems there :thumbsup2

:rotfl: That's funny - when I read your original post the first thing I thought of was Marie from Everybody Loves Raymond. I thought maybe you were watching a rerun.
Wow! Just like her? Please tell me she doesn't live across the street though?

Hey Wendell - maybe you should try LESS coffee and Red Bull and you may sleep better :confused3 Just sayin ;)

Hmmm...I don't really understand sentences with "less" in them regarding Red Bull and coffee. :confused3

;)

Wendy, you're crazy girl! Of course we're going to notice you're not there! :sad1:

Quick, go to Starbuck's buy me coffee and deliver it to my work. That'll certainly get you out of the house for at least a couple of days. Sorry she's driving you nuts.

...seriously, back to work for me...

Oh HECK NO! She lives on the other side of town, thank the Good LORD. If she lived across the street, there would be a "For Sale" sign on our house faster than Speedy Gonzalas could get it there.

And yes, just like her. All these little snide remarks.....like "Yes dear, but really you should get a new vacuum cleaner. It's obvious you need one."

:rotfl: I just laughed out loud! That remark does sound like Marie! :lmao: Although I'm sure its not a laughing matter to you . . . .

Poor You!
I would die if my MIL was like that. I loved mine more than my own mom, she was the most wonderful person I have ever met. She passed away two years ago. But I do have to say the last few years she was a challenge. She had Alzheimers and in the beginning stages she would blurt out random things. Like not so nice things you keep in the back of your mind but suddenly are said out loud for all to hear. We heard some shocking things! :scared1: ELR was a favorite show of ours when it was on in prime time. All the actors were soooo good.

A quick hi as I have to get things done that didn't get done while MIL was visiting. I do count my blessings with her, even though she isn't the MIL I might have wanted and she does do some things that drive both DH and I crazy, she's pretty easy to get along with.

Capri, if she thinks you need a new vacuum, she can buy you one instead of carping about it! ;)

Smart to see Paranormal at home - it can make you sick in the theater if you're at all sensitive to movement onscreen. It's kinda this year's Blair Witch, if you saw that. The main thing was that it was shot for so little money ($15,000).

Heather - pics are very cute!

Jill, really glad to hear the good news.

Becci, The Getty Museum is a stunning complex on top of hill in LA. Admission is free but they getcha on the parking ($15) unless you arrive after 5PM. You take a tram to the top where there are exhibitions of the permanent art and some special exhibitions. The Rembrandt drawings with comparisons of his student's work, is really wonderful. They have free nights outside with indie rock bands that the twenty-somethings come to, dressed to thrill.

Oh dear, Linda!

OMG, Marie is being SO annoying today! Why Why Why is she like that?!!! :headache: :sad2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lock your doors & don't answer the phone & pretend you are not home!!

Hi girls! :goodvibes

I am so ready for a nap. I haven't been sleeping very well and I'm exhausted. :faint: Maybe I need to include more coffee into my diet... or Red Bull. ;)

I'm gonna miss you all in February, but you're gonna have so much fun that you wont even notice I'm not there. :thumbsup2

Heather, your little girl is so cute!

Happy Birthday to Tina! I hope you are having a wonderful time.

I also watched Paranormal Activity last night and didn't think much of it, but I didn't really expect it to be all that great.

Jen, I wish I could meet up with you for your birthday, that would be fun!

A massage sounds really good right now. I've never had one, but I could sure use one!

I guess I should get back to work now, I'm putting off doing way too much right now. :rolleyes1

Hope you all have a wonderful day. :cutie:

I slepy like crap last night too!
I will notice you are not there!!

I thought everyone knew I called her Marie. Sorry Divas. I should have explained first. :goodvibes

I knew.......:rolleyes1

I am lucky that DBF's parents live hours away, still not quite are enough away.

Are MIL ever what you expected or wanted :confused3 :confused3

Ok well I am finally off to work for the first time since well you know.
The boys & I went to Pizza Hut for lunch & they are watching Blind Side right now. Jordan has seen it, he said it was really sad.

I hope you ladies are having a great day.

Capri~ I hope Marie doesn't bug you too much today.
Becci, Linda & Donna~ Hi

I watched Paranormal Activity last night. It was creepy but definitely not the scariest movie that I have ever seen, so to me it did not live up to the hype.
I watched it yesterday. OMG, the part where the attic panel is lifted up?? That happened here. We'd been living here a few months, and Ruben was working nights. I used to have all the kids sleep in the room with me, and we'd always hear creepy noises from the attic, but being a new house, I just figured I didn't know all the creaks and groans yet.

Well, one night, one of the kids looks up at the panel and it was just like in the movie. Off and to one side. I freaked out, called Ruben at work. He came home and when he saw it he was like, hmmm, yeah, that wasn't like that. None of the kids could have done it. He went and got his gun, and took a peek around up there but we never saw anything. No clue how it got like that. :confused3

So when I saw that part of the movie, I was like: :scared1: Great.
We still hear funky noises now and then but I choose to attribute them to pigeons or some other animal. lol

How did you like the Hangover??
I liked it! I was expecting it to be really dumb, but it wasn't. I thought it was funny. And that one pic at the end with the guy in the strip club getting a dance while looking down at his pager, reminded me of Wendy at the OG!!! :lmao:

Katie - they do have a character meal with the Pooh characters. The Minnie's at the Plaza Inn has all of them - Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore, etc., as well as Minnie, Fairy Godmother, Hook, White Rabbit and tons more :thumbsup2
How fun!! I've never been to Minnies.

Thank you for all the thoughts & prayers for Steve's dad, Rich. We went to visit him last night and he was actually eating...and liking it. They found a nasty infection that they are still trying to pinpoint, but are treating him and he is already feeling a hundred times better.
Good news!

I'm gonna miss you all in February, but you're gonna have so much fun that you wont even notice I'm not there. :thumbsup2
Never! But I'm looking forward to seeing you here in June. Party time!!

Mmmmmm, I love pizza from just about anywhere. We'll probably order that for the kids on NYE.

Oh my goodness, I saw that last week and I busted out laughing! Good to know I'm not the only one doing that kind of stuff. ;)

Good afternoon ladies!!

I could not sleep last night at all. Kept checking the attic panel. :rolleyes1 ;) :rotfl:

Anyway, I finally fell asleep and slept until almost 11:00. Since then I've been up doing laundry and such. Also our computer is acting up. It's 7 or 8 years old so I guess it's finally time for a new one.

Today is Ruben's and my anniversary!! Not wedding, but of our first date. 22 years ago today. We went to the Griffith Park observatory, and have been together ever since.

He's taking me to see Barry Manilow tonight. Yes, you read that right. Barry Manilow. I can admit it. My name is Beth and I am a Fanilow. :rotfl: Always have been, since high school. Interesting story behind that. Someday if anyone's interested I'll share it. Has to do with my real dad. :)

Anyway, we got tickets that were normally $120 each for $99 for the pair!! :yay: Can't wait to go out.

Have a good one ladies. TTYL!!

There's another one that reminds me of you. Have you seen Oceans Eleven with Brad Pitt and George Clooney?

There's a scene in there where Brad's character is at the bar and he says something to the bartender but it's too loud and he can't hear him. When the bartender asks Brad to repeat it, Brad says, "I said I'm running away with your wife."

The bartender smiles, nods and gives the thumbs up!!!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I was laughing my butt off!!! I was like, hey, that's the trick Wendy taught me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Later ladies!!

Why in the heck would you check the attic panel? Are you one of those people that runs toward the strange noise?

Happy first date anniversary to you and Ruben! I hope you two have a great time tonight.

If you get a new computer, can you pick me up one too? ;)

Later ladies!!

:rotfl2: I saw that movie years ago, but I don't remember that part. When in doubt: just smile, nod and give the thumbs up. :thumbsup2::yes::

I only have to survive another 30 minutes at work and then I'm off until Monday. I kinda wish I was working tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to not having to get up and ready tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a great evening!

Afternoon ladies! Sounds like everyone is having a good day!

Wendy if Janelle, Becci and I get together you should DEF join us. We can have our Nor Cal meet :)

Beth happy anniversary! How fun! Enjoy your concert. And that is creepy about your house! I know all too well about haunted houses. My house was built in 1890 and for the first SEVERAL years we lived here (when I was a kid) we heard this really loud knocking that you could ONLY hear upstairs in certain rooms. It would get louder and louder and you could ONLY hear it upstairs. My dad checked the attic, the pipes everything and we could never figure anything out that could have caused the noise. We know that the orig owner (older lady) died in my parents room (of old age, nothing bad) She died in her sleep but her kids didn't find her right away so I think it might be her. When my dad remodeled the house in the 80's we found a room that had been completely walled off and once he opened it up and exposed it the knocking stopped and we have never heard it since.

I have also seen what I swore was a female figure walk by one of the rooms upstairs and my uncle swears he saw the same figure when he was sleeping downstairs on our couch. Plus we also had knocks on the front door and no one was there! Luckily ALL this stuff happened when I lived here as a kid and then the house was vacant for a few years and nothing has happened since Shane and I moved in 9 years ago.

I will have to rent that movie now just to see what I think. :)

Anyway I went out with mom and she had to take a jacket back to the disney store that she bought for shelby cuz they forgot to take the security sensor off. Then children's place had a REALLY good sale so she got a few things for the girls. Some for Katy's birthday and some just because. :) Then she got Katy a webkin for her birthday so she will be excited!

Now I am home and we are all going to see blind side tonight. I can't wait!

That's bout it for us. Glad everyone had a good day! Have a GREAT evening and hope you guys have some fun plans for tomorrow and Friday!!

Hola ladies!

I've been lurking along reading, but not responding much. Sorry.

Sad that Wendylou-boohoo won't be with us in February. :sad1:
Same for Janelle and Laurie. :sad1::sad1:

There are so many movies out right now that I want to see, but sadly most will have to wait for DVD (The Princess and the Frog, Sherlock Holmes and The Blind Side). I am begging Dan to take me to the theater to see Avatar in 3-D. I want to see it so bad! Maybe this weekend.

Hope everyone who has holiday time off is enjoying it. Dan's working this week, but he's been taking a break every afternoon to go on a long walk with me, which has been so nice to have an exercise buddy.

We're trying to eat better and exercise because we're heading to Maui in less than a month, and I don't want to even think about my white fat body in a swimsuit. I haven't said anything b/c honestly I feel incredibly guilty about it :guilty: and have had buyers remorse since I booked the airfare. I've even thought of faking an illness and using the travel insurance. But Dan says we're going and having fun, and that's that. I'll enjoy it once I'm there I'm sure.

Beth, I'm only about 50% sure I'll be at Storyteller's for lunch on Monday, but can you keep me on the list anyway? Thanks. :goodvibes

Later taters!
