I've had two facials, and I now know that my facial skin is WAY too sensitive for any kind of facial. Both times, during and after the facials, I felt and looked like I had the worse sunburn ever. OUCH is all I can say. Cathy, my friend who got a facial with me, looked and felt fabulous however. She loved it.

I get facials too, but my skin is very sensitive. Spas usually offer a sensitive skin facial which uses more gentle products and such. I don't have any problems with them (except if they do blackhead extraction - TMI, I know, but holy crap that hurts!!!).

Not that anyone needed to know that about me. Just thought I would share my facial dilemma. :rotfl:

I just feel like my skin is paying the price for stress I've had. I need something good to give it some TLC. I've heard both good and bad experiences...I would hate to have a bad experience.

One year for Mother's Day, DH got me a membership to a spa here in town. Every month, I could go in and have services done. The facials were my least favorite. I loved the massages and pedicures....especially if I added the paraffin treatment to it!

The facials always hurt, they were not relaxing. If your goal is to get your skin better, then they might be for you, but not if you are looking for a relaxing experience.

Eek..I'm hearing more bad than good with the facials. The relaxation is what I need most. I don't know if I could handle a massage. I seriously just cringe in pain when someone touches my shoulders. I know a massage would probably do me some good but it just kinda scares me since I'm so full of knots anyway.

Well, you will never know if you love or hate facials until you try it. If you're at all worried, ask them to use the extra gentle facial products on you. That's what hurt my face.....the facial products. If you don't normally have a problem with being sensitive to facial products (which I do), then you should be fine. :thumbsup2

If you're looking for the relaxing spa experience, I'd go for the pedicure or manicure. I'm not a fan of massage and a facial is not really relaxing (but good for your skin!). I love having a pedicure and I agree with Heather, adding the paraffin treatment is SOOOOO nice (you have to like heat on your feet though - it is hot).

Hola chicas!

I hope the holidays treated everyone well. :goodvibes

I'm sad to say that I wont be making the trip in February, but I expect you all to have fun for me. All of you with internet connections on the trip have to post updates every time you do something. I want to be on Facebook experiencing the trip through y'all. I don't care if you're just sitting on the curb, I want status updates at least once an hour. You all better takes LOADS of pictures for me too...please.

That's it for now. Just wanted to pop in and say HI!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
so sorry you won't be able to join :( Hugs

Hi Ladies:

So we are off to California tomorrow. I haven't yet packed, but I did do five loads of laundry today, took down the tree and other decorations, paid the bills and cleaned the apartment (which somehow is already messy). I can't believe that I'm off again, as I just want to stay home for a few days and catch my breath. But we have John's family to see and of course my birthday trip to Disneyland.

Again, I'd like to invite everyone for a drink and some birthday cake (or maybe cupcakes?) on Thursday, January 7 at 7pm at the Hearthstone Lounge in the Grand Californian. I will provide the Magicale (or drink of your choice) and cake. Do I need to make any sort of reservations at Hearthstone?? (am I spelling that right? I never can remember if it has an 'r' in there) Any advice on where I can get a cake at the park? Looks like there is a new cupcake place in Downtown Disney. Experts...please pipe in! I'm looking forward to seeing whoever can show up. Wendy..feel free to drive down from Roseville since you won't be making the February trip. ;)

OK, must clean kitchen and pack.

Hugs and good wishes to all. :santa:

Hi Jen! Safe travels to CA! When I get my schedule I will see if I can pop over on the 7th to sing Happy Birthday to you!!

Hi girls!
I've got a quick window to get online, and I wanted to just check in and say hi. We are having a great trip so far. We went to Yosemite yesterday, and it was a winter wonderland there. So beautiful! Today we are just hanging out and relaxing. Tomorrow we are celebrating my birthday by going back to Yosemite to go ice skating in Curry Village and maybe some sledding. Then we will have dinner at the best litle Mexican restaurant in Groveland.
I hope you are all doing well. I'm about 10 pages behind, and I'm going to try to read back before I get kicked off the internet.
Big hugs to you all!
oh I just love Yosemite...anytime of year! We stayed at the Awahnee once during the winter and had so much fun. We also stayed in Curry Village with the kids one year and had fun ice skating and playing in the snow! So much fun! Enjoy :)

Hi Jen –

Yay Jill! I am glad you are joining Donna’s table for CC! I really enjoyed getting to know you at the Trick or Treat party and I am looking forward to seeing you again!!
I am sorry to hear about your DH’s husband…sending good thoughts to your family during this time.
BRRRR…I don’t think I could even live here without a furnace! I turn ours on every morning because it’s chilly!

I am so excited for Thursday especially after your and Donna’s reviews of MP! The kids are really excited and Mic hopes it rains so he can take his MP umbrella and wear his new navy double breasted wool coat! I have never seen a 13 yr especially a boy be so excited over his new wool coat…you that have met him will totally understand! He is such a character.:goodvibes

We were going to take the kids to DL today but Mic woke up dizzy and this is the second day that he’s had dizziness so I told Mr. CA that we need to take him to the doctor because it’s just not normal so they are going within the hour. He had a fever overnight a couple of days ago and then was better until yesterday.

I am loving having this week off. Mr. CA always has this week off so I saved vacation days so I could have it off too and I don’t think I can ever go back to working this week! It’s been so relaxing and just a great week so far!
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
I so want to see Mary Poppins!! I love Disney shows!! Have fun
Still cold here with no furnace...but compared to so many other places that are much colder...no complaints. We are going to replace it instead of bandaiding it for awhile. $1700 later....ouch!
Hope Mr CA is feeling better soon....feeling dizzy is the worst!! I hate that feeling. Did they give him something for it?

Less than 2 months until our trip! princess:
LOL...love your images!

Gosh me too. I just feel a million miles away right now and very alone.
hugs!! please know we are just a click away :)

Here's 'her' pic from today. She has her hand in front of her face, so it is a little distorted looking. Her left leg is kicked up and across the middle of her right leg that's stretching out. :goodvibes

Here's the between the legs shot...nothing obvious but too soon to tell for sure. :lovestruc

love the pics! so glad things came out great :)

I read that also! a little, um, interesting!:confused3

Well, today has been a day that I thought would never end. I won't go into details but lets just say I'm ready for the kids (one in particular) to go back to school.

Does anyone have any plans for NYE? Last year we surprised the kids and headed to DLR early on New Years Day for the long weekend. But this year the DAP's are blocked, last year they weren't!:confused3
We usually have everybody over to our house for games and fun, but since our furnace is out, we are going to my sisters house just minutes away. Our friends have tons of hotwheel tracks so we all love playing that, we play the Wii and board games, always have a big puzzle out to work on and eat, eat eat! Lots of fun!!

Good Morning Divas! Boy you were all chatty yesterday .

Ariels was good. I didn't really care for the appetizers, but the main entree was delish & the desserts were okay. Laila didn't really want to see the princesses. All she wanted to do was eat. In half the pictures she reaching for her food instead of paying attention to the princesses . She's more of a Pooh girl. She's loves Tigger & Pooh. I wish they had a character meal at Disneyland with the Pooh characters.

Well I'm off. My son has another wrestling tournment today & I volunteered to do a 3 hour shift at the snack bar ( I don't know what I was thinking).

Talk to you all later!
Woo hoo Laila! Pooh is my favorite charactor since childhood :)
I love volunteering for my kids things, and actually miss it now that Jordan & Beau are out of school!! Jordan thanked me a few months ago for being so involved in his school activities and said he wanted to do the same when he has kids....that was heart warming!! :)

Thank you for all the thoughts & prayers for Steve's dad, Rich. We went to visit him last night and he was actually eating...and liking it. They found a nasty infection that they are still trying to pinpoint, but are treating him and he is already feeling a hundred times better. He may have his chemo today & tomorrow and they will have to stay in for another day or so. I really think its the best place for him right now and it gives my MIL a little break from harping on him to eat and get up to move around.

Happy Wednesday to you all
Happy Birthday Tina!! :)

Kate, Laila is so cute! I love that she wanted her food more than the princesses. :lovestruc

I love the Pooh characters also. On my honeymoon, we ate at the Crystal palace in MK. Piglet shoved my mashed potatoes up my nose! He's quite the rascal. :thumbsup2

Massages are not for everyone, but I have so many knots, it's the only way I truly relax. I just tell them to go easy over the rough parts. If you get a really good masseuse, then you don't have to worry...it's not the same as an 'average' person doing it. The hot stone massages are more relaxing than hurting if you ask me. They feel so good and just glide over your skin.

I say go for your facial though, and try it! You may love it.

Vicki - I hope Mic feels better soon and it turns out to be nothing.

Heather - those pics are awesome. I used to have such a hard time deciphering us pics but those were really good (esp with your explinations).

Jane - that sounds like quite the spread. yummy!

Kelly - I hope things turn around for you soon & 2010 turns out to be a prosperous year for you.

Happy Birthday, Tina!

After a un-productive day Monday & Tuesday I decided to take today off work (already had Thursday & Friday off). I got some great work done, but think I thrive when there is more work to do than days with less. I know there are some people (particularly at my work) who don't thrive either days.

My parents are coming up today and we'll be going out to dinner for NYE then watching the rose parade & football on NYD. I'm off to the deli for sandwich fixings... Have a good one ladies!

oooooooooo - hot stone massages are the best! I had my first about 1.5 years ago and it was amazing. I am definately the person who can't stand pressure massages. Sometimes swedish massages are too much for me. But the hot stone one was awesome. The only thing I don't like is the walk back to the car in winter time. You're all nice & warm and then the cold air hits you.

I've had two massages in my life at a spa, and both were WONDEFUL!!! :cloud9: :lovestruc

Hi girls! :goodvibes

I am so ready for a nap. I haven't been sleeping very well and I'm exhausted. :faint: Maybe I need to include more coffee into my diet... or Red Bull. ;)

I'm gonna miss you all in February, but you're gonna have so much fun that you wont even notice I'm not there. :thumbsup2

Heather, your little girl is so cute!

Happy Birthday to Tina! I hope you are having a wonderful time.

I also watched Paranormal Activity last night and didn't think much of it, but I didn't really expect it to be all that great.

Jen, I wish I could meet up with you for your birthday, that would be fun!

A massage sounds really good right now. I've never had one, but I could sure use one!

I guess I should get back to work now, I'm putting off doing way too much right now. :rolleyes1

Hope you all have a wonderful day. :cutie:

Hey Wendell - maybe you should try LESS coffee and Red Bull and you may sleep better :confused3 Just sayin ;)

I call my MIL Marie.....after Marie Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond".

My MIL is JUST LIKE Marie, and I'm not kidding. So that's my nickname for her. She is driving me insane latey, along with Justin, my mom and dad, Cathy (my friend), and everyone else she's around. Mainly, it's her mouth, or actually, what comes out of it.

It's really funny watching it on the show, but living it is another thing entirely. LOL.
