It was a busy weekend for us--quick trip to Anaheim and as others have already reported Friday night was an absolute zoo. We got to the gates right as the 6:30 parade was starting so we watched it and then dashed to Buzz. Headed over to Pizza Port only to find that it was closed, so we ended up at Bengal BBQ where I had to wait in line nearly 45 minutes. After that we ran back to the Winnie the Pooh store to pick up a couple things and then caught the train in NOS over to the Toontown Station with the intention of riding iasw. By this point it was 8:50 pm and apparently this year they are shutting iasw down before, during and immediately after the fireworks. We hung out in the iasw area for the fireworks show and since they weren't reopening it for another 20 minutes we headed towards Tomorrowland via the walkway between the Matterhorn and Nemo Subs. Took us nearly 45 minutes to make it through that stretch and no one was in the holiday spirit at that point. Did a little shopping and headed back to the Hojo around 11ish.
Saturday morning I was in line for the shopping event by 6 am, and as also previously reported it was just okay. I got a few good deals, but nothing that I couldn't have lived without. It also took me over an hour to check out so I completely missed the chance to take Ty to DL before breakfast. Made it back to the hotel around 9:15, packed up and we went to the PCH to bid our goodbyes to Lilo as only she is leaving the breakfast, whereas Stitch mimed to us that he would still be there as part of the new Mickey breakfast team.
Imagination Movers were awesome--we were on the floor about 2 feet from the steps off the stage so we got to be very close to 3 of the 4 Movers at various points in the show. Ty got an inflatable basketball during one song and I was given a guitar pick by Mover Rich at the end of the show. It was my first time at Club Nokia and I would love to see them do more kids shows as they did a ton of things to make the venue kid friendly such as adding diaper changing stations, inviting all the kids down to the very front to dance, etc.
Yesterday was a day of errands and I attempted to make a small batch of gingerbread cookies last night, which was a disaster. The dough stuck to everything, including the rolling pin and then the cookies stuck to the pan once they came out of the oven. Dave and I each choked down one cookie and Ty just licked the frosting off of his. I would have done better just to give him a spoon and a small dish of frosting as it would have been easier and far less messy.
Tonight we have to go pick up Ty's Christmas portraits and make a few other stops in the mall so that I can put a couple of packages into the mail tomorrow. It is supposed to rain most of the day here in Vegas and I am just praying that the temperature will stay high enough that it won't turn to ice, as most of our drivers here are bad enough without adding inclement weather into the mix!
Good luck to everyone doing MA this weekend. This is something I really want to do in the future as it seems like such fun!
Hope that everyone else is having a great day!
