It's been pouring here too. When I went out at lunchtime the streets were almost flooded. It got sunny for a few minutes, but now is dark and grey and raining again.
Not a major tragedy, but I am almost out of disposable contact lenses. I was supposed to go to the eye dr. on Dec. 2nd, but it was right after the weekend in Vegas and I just didn't feel like it--plus was swamped at the office. The next appointment I could get was Dec. 16th. I realized yesterday that I only had five days of lenses left--no problem--I can make them last and wear my glasses on days I didn't have something to dress up for. Uh, no--my glasses BROKE on the way to work today. I took them off to wipe some raindrops off of them and crack! Of course, they are like 8 years old, so it's not like I wasn't expecting to have to get some new ones eventually--but rotten timing! I called the dr.'s office to see if they could mail me a week's supply or so--no, they can't mail samples. I will have to go to Newport Beach and pick them up. Arrggggggghhhhhhh.
I got my Christmas lights put up last week. That may be all the decorating I do. I'm not around much this next weekend, and the following weekend will be in Texas. Then it's Christmas. I just don't have the energy or heart to go out to the (cold) garage and start unearthing all my Christmas stuff, then have to pack it up and put it back. My Mom and I are just exchanging one $25 gift this year (I'm getting her a new Timex). I am buying for my friends' kids, but otherwise no gifts between the adults--we all decided that we have too much stuff. So it's going to be a quiet Christmas season--I am probably having people over Christmas Eve and we are going to dinner to my cousins' house on Christmas Day. I am also doing my "family-style" New Year's Eve. Nothing crazy.
Anyway--back to the salt mines now. Talk to you all later when we open our boxes!!!!
