Good Morning! DBF and I went to Disneyland on Saturday. Was anyone else there? I finally saw the Monkey Bride! :cool1: :rotfl: Oh and did anyone go in IASW on Saturday? There was an Elvis Figurine in front of Lio and Stitch... It was pretty crowded but we got a lot done. But boy was it cold!

((((Kelly)))) stay strong!! The girls are going to need you!!

Cheryl: the Safeway job.....he was hired because they needed an experienced meat cutter. He interviews & then when he starts his orientation, they tell him he is going to start as a meat wrapper for minimum wage. As a meat wrapper, he is not to spend over 2 hours a shift on cutting. He spends almost the entire shift cutting. As a journeyman meat cutter, being used to cut at minimum wage is frustrating. Now the rumors are that Mike will become the "Floater", traveling all over the state to fill shifts at the different stores. No one told him about this during the interview & for obvious reasons at home, this would not work for him to be gone for 2-5 days a week in a different town. This job is a union position, but you don't join the union for 6 months & benefits would begin at month 7. So he's picking up from other employees there, that they are going to get 6 cheap months out of him cutting...then they'll have to raise his pay.
His paycheck was $6 more than unemployment....not figuring in the 25 mile round trip (being done twice a day due to being down to one car). So we're losing money now.
He's going to call the union today, the unemployment office & check into his options if he quits (if its a 2-4 week wait period if he quits, this will be fine since my brother owns a meat shop & can use him "under the table" till around the first week of Jan)
Talk with the meat manager to find out what their "real" plans are for him.
Then we'll decide what are best choices are.

Just frustrating knowing as a journeyman meat cutter he should be making $17 an hour & he's making $8.40

Well this truly seems to be a bad Monday morning for some of our divas.

Kelly ~ and prayers
Laurie ~ I hope he gets the pay raise he deserves soon.

It's raining over and I was happy to find an umbrella in the backseat of my car.

Only have time for a quick post before I get school started for the kiddos. . .

Sending big hugs to Kelly and Laurie. What a mess, Kelly. I hope you are able to get your girls back with you soon. Laurie, I hope your dh gets some answers on the job soon as well.

Stacie & Heather, adorable shirts! Have a great time at MA this weekend.

Hoping we get our tree this week and get our Christmas cards out. I always feel bad for not signing up for the card exchange. I would love to, but Dan has a history of getting our cards done at the very last minute, and I didn't want to disappoint if they didn't get out in time. For some reason, our Christmas cards are a huge creative challenge for him.

Ok, I gotta get after it. Tons to do today . . .

Love and light and big fat hugs (cuz I'm feelin fat) to everyone!

Callie

Looks like I've got the hang of it. Thanks Beth. You are a great teacher !:teacher:
Whoo hoo. Look at you. Posting pics and now multi-quoting! Way to go. :thumbsup2

Now the young lad playing CLyde had a body to die for....but did I need to see his naked tushie up on the stage? I think not.
Quite frankly, I think I am a prude...a bit.
 YAY for naked tushie!!

LOL Poor AmySue. Sweet and innocent in a world of heathens. :rotfl: Just kidding. But maybe you need to come to Vegas in June with the other gals. We'll all help you get over your prudish ways real fast. :rolleyes1 ;)

Glad you got to go to the WOD shopping fest. Sorry it was such a long check out time!! I'd have been crying along with your DD. lol

But I am so grateful to have all of you as friends and that is the important thing, despite what Shane may think! I appreciate you all and am so glad you are my friends! Thanks again!
OKay Kelly, first off, you do have friends here. Just because we are online doesn't mean we don't all care for each other. So just know that you are not alone in that respect.

I don't think any of us realized the full extent of what you've been dealing with at home and I'm so sorry for all of this. My SIL was in an abusive relationship in her first marriage, and it can be hard to get out, but it can be done.
I worry for your safety and for that of the girls. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. It won't be easy but God will give you the strength to do what needs to be done to take care of yourself and those precious babes of yours.

Hugs to you. Stay safe and strong. :grouphug:

:thumbsup2 Yay for seeing the MB. I see your cruise is a mere 5 days away!! How fun.

 I hope it all works out for you and he. Times are so rough right now.

Good morning ladies!!

Wow, seems like a rough start to a Monday for a few of us. I hope most of you are doing okay. :grouphug:

We need to get our focus back on planning for a bit here. The time to make dining reservations is fast approaching. :cool1: Many of us, myself included, will become busier the closer it gets to Christmas, but I do need all of you to take a moment and look over the front page.

Please make sure you are signed up for everything you wish to be signed up for. If you've changed your mind on something, now is the time to let me know. If you were put down as a maybe for any meals, can you please make your final decision so we can start getting an exact count.

I will be sending out PMs to those who volunteered to help make priority seating reservations for the various meals just to touch base and make sure everything is still a go. And we all know what day to call on.

Thank you all for your time and help in making sure the planning all goes smoothly. :flower3:

The days are flying by now and February will be here before we know it!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I have already set reminders on my phone with alarms to wake me up each day that I need to make a priority seating reservation. I have to make the PS for Carnation Cafe on Dec. 28th and for Steakhouse 55 on Dec. 31st.

Hi Beth -

I want to update the dining list before any calls are made.

I've decided to leave Sunday evening so if you wouldn't mind removing me from Steakhouse 55 and WCT? Thanks!

Thanks Cristabel. When the police came tonight they said they didn't find a record on Shane OR I which is amazing since he has a FELONY!!! But the bad thing is by my parents not letting me press charges when he attempted my life in 2002 I don't have a police record. I may be able to subpoena the counselor we went to though cuz of course he will deny and lie about it so it will be his word against mine until I can PROVE it. But the good things is when Lynn ran away he had an "incident" with her and CPS was called. I found ALL the paperwork on that where he was ordered to go to anger management and parenting classes and he NEVER did it! So not only does he have a report against him for abuse of his DAUGHTER but he NEVER did what he was ordered to do! So hopefully that will help.

I just can't believe he is stooping so low as to use a mental break down I had against me to try and say I am unstable. And then to try and LIE to the police and say I did ANYTHING to him is ludicrous and esp since my friend was sitting RIGHT there! He was just HOPING he would make me angry enough to do something but the difference is I am NOT like him. I don't result to violence. Sure I may get angry and scream and throw stuff around but I have never touched him OR the girls EVER! And for him to try and pull that is incredibly LOW!

Then he just drove up and it is midnight! I told him to get out of here or I was calling the police. He said he was just coming to pick me up so I could go stay at my moms so I would be there when they woke up. I was like yeah RIGHT. I am not going ANYWHERE with you!

Kelly I am truly sorry for what is going on with you and your daughters. I pray that the lord be with in this time and need and that everything ends soon enough and without anyone getting hurt. :littleangel:

Count me as out of the loop on both Disboards & Facebook, but the biggest of hugs to you Kelly. I am so, so sorry that you and the girls are going through this.

It was a busy weekend for us--quick trip to Anaheim and as others have already reported Friday night was an absolute zoo. We got to the gates right as the 6:30 parade was starting so we watched it and then dashed to Buzz. Headed over to Pizza Port only to find that it was closed, so we ended up at Bengal BBQ where I had to wait in line nearly 45 minutes. After that we ran back to the Winnie the Pooh store to pick up a couple things and then caught the train in NOS over to the Toontown Station with the intention of riding iasw. By this point it was 8:50 pm and apparently this year they are shutting iasw down before, during and immediately after the fireworks. We hung out in the iasw area for the fireworks show and since they weren't reopening it for another 20 minutes we headed towards Tomorrowland via the walkway between the Matterhorn and Nemo Subs. Took us nearly 45 minutes to make it through that stretch and no one was in the holiday spirit at that point. Did a little shopping and headed back to the Hojo around 11ish.

Saturday morning I was in line for the shopping event by 6 am, and as also previously reported it was just okay. I got a few good deals, but nothing that I couldn't have lived without. It also took me over an hour to check out so I completely missed the chance to take Ty to DL before breakfast. Made it back to the hotel around 9:15, packed up and we went to the PCH to bid our goodbyes to Lilo as only she is leaving the breakfast, whereas Stitch mimed to us that he would still be there as part of the new Mickey breakfast team.

Imagination Movers were awesome--we were on the floor about 2 feet from the steps off the stage so we got to be very close to 3 of the 4 Movers at various points in the show. Ty got an inflatable basketball during one song and I was given a guitar pick by Mover Rich at the end of the show. It was my first time at Club Nokia and I would love to see them do more kids shows as they did a ton of things to make the venue kid friendly such as adding diaper changing stations, inviting all the kids down to the very front to dance, etc.

Yesterday was a day of errands and I attempted to make a small batch of gingerbread cookies last night, which was a disaster. The dough stuck to everything, including the rolling pin and then the cookies stuck to the pan once they came out of the oven. Dave and I each choked down one cookie and Ty just licked the frosting off of his. I would have done better just to give him a spoon and a small dish of frosting as it would have been easier and far less messy.

Tonight we have to go pick up Ty's Christmas portraits and make a few other stops in the mall so that I can put a couple of packages into the mail tomorrow. It is supposed to rain most of the day here in Vegas and I am just praying that the temperature will stay high enough that it won't turn to ice, as most of our drivers here are bad enough without adding inclement weather into the mix!

Good luck to everyone doing MA this weekend. This is something I really want to do in the future as it seems like such fun!

Hope that everyone else is having a great day!

Hey Jane. OMG, your Friday night at DL does not sound fun at all. :( I hate the crowds. They really do suck the holiday spirit out of it. :sad2:
And sorry you missed taking Ty to DL on Saturday. Darn.

Glad to hear the show was great though!! :yay:

Sorry about your cookies. I don't like gingerbread so I've never made those but I was curious to try them. Now, maybe I won't! lol

Have you had any rain yet?? Not a drop over here. Just looks cloudy and gray. I wish it would rain though. (minus the ice of course)

Anyway, good luck at the mall. I was out this weekend and it's a zoo. See you Sunday!! :goodvibes

Jane - I had to laugh when you were describing your cookie making experience because I've been there and I could see it all too clearly! I hope your next attempt is more successful...I'm rooting for you!!!

Your mad dash to CA sounded fun but busy!

Jane, omg, Mover Rich gave you his guitar pick?! AHH, I'm so jealous. I'm glad you had a great time! Friday was a HUGE ZOO at DL, we tried leaving during the fireworks and we had to be ushered backstage. But I had a great time seeing lockers and a break room. That was fun!

Beth, can you please add my Mom and I to Ariel's Grotto? Thank you!

Thank you again to everyone who has posted! It means more than you know. I have spent the morning running all over trying to get "things" accomplished and I have an apt at 3 with an atty to just find out what my rights are etc. Just a consult but I need to know where I stand. Other than that I am ok. I got a BUNCH of cards today so that lifted my spirits a lot!!

Glad those of you who went to DL had a good time and Sara glad you had fun at your cookie party!!

Thanks so much Vanessa. You are probably wondering what the heck you have gotten yourself into reading this junk but we have been posting for almost 2 years and these guys mean a lot to me so I am so glad that I can share what is going on with them as they are so supportive!

Hope everyone has a good day and TTYL!

Beth, Can you please take me off the list for Napa Rose on Sunday night and Blue Bayou on Monday night? Thanks!

Prayers coming your way Kelly. :grouphug:

Are all the Diva MA participants meeting up somewhere before or after the game on Sat? I would love to sneak in and say hi.

We have not made a plan to meet. Is anyone else interested in meeting up? I have ressies for Lilo & Stitch Saturday morning and Jazz Kitchen Saturday night, but maybe we could meet sometime on Sunday?

We were going to meet up Saturday morning but changed plans. I know we'll be in the park Saturday night, and possibly Sunday morning... but so far have nothing planned to meet up. Suggestions??

Thanks Kelly. I am glad to hear things are getting accomplished. I know I always feel more in control of a situation the more knowledge I have and the more steps I can take. I am praying for you and your girls. I just can't imagine what you are going through right now.

As for me, I had a CRAZY BUSY weekend! It all started friday night when my mom and I went to an ornament exchange at a coworkers house. It was potluck so I made up some bean dip when I got home from work and as soon as my dh got home to watch the kids my mom picked me up to go to the party. After the party we went to the mall (certain stores were open until midnight) to do some shopping. I thought I was done with all my shopping but I found out a friend had decided to get gifts for my kids so I picked up an outfit each for her two kids. I also got some new christmas kitchen towels, some bath towels ($5 each minus 15%) and some new shoes for me. DH and I are going to see white christmas in Seattle the weekend after next so I needed some dress shoes.

When I got home from shopping I had to pick stuff up and put things away so I didn't get to bed until sometime after midnight (and I had only had 3 hours of sleep the night before!)

Saturday I got up early - DH had to go to school and I had all kinds of things to do around the house (laundry, cleaning, ect.) to get ready for my cookie party sunday. At 11:15 we left the house to meet up with dh and dmil and her new husband at the Ferry Terminal for the port festival which has different groups performing, a gingerbread house competition and pictures with santa....the kids actually did it! I thought Ryder would do ok but when Kiera sat on Santas lap and didn't cry I was so proud (and shocked!) We ordered a small set of pics. From there we went on to a family birthday party and then went home where dmil met us. She watched the kids for us while dh and I went on a date. We went to a greek restaurant in a neighboring town we had been wanting to try and then we went and saw the movie "The Blind Side" which was excellent! So it was another late night for us.

Sunday we woke up early because we had to go get our christmas tree (the farm was over 30 minutes away) and then get home to make gingerbread cookies and clean for the party. It was SOOOO COLD!!! We are having a nor'easter (really cold wind) and we were all frozen by the time we found a good tree. We had some hot cocoa and the kids had cookies while we warmed up and paid for the tree and then we went home. I mixed up my first ever batch of gingerbread and made 3-4 pans (I have another 1/2 batch in the fridge still which ds and I will make this week). They turned out well. I am not a huge gingerbread fan, but dh loves it and it makes the house smell good. Dh cleaned and we decorated and then people started showing up for the party. It turned out really well! Near the end the kids had to leave for swimming lessons (ds passed preschool 1 and will be moving on to preschool 2 in January). Once my guests were gone I finally got dfil's present ordered and worked on getting out all my non-diva christmas letters. I finally got in the family pictures we had taken a few weeks ago (they turned out great!) After the kids were in bed I finished up some laundry while dh put up the tree. He tested the lights before he put them on the tree but once they were up and he plugged them in 1/2 of each strand didn't work! Boy was he mad!

So tonight I am picking up more christmas lights, working out, getting out the tree decos and putting in Merry Christmas Charlie Brown for us all to watch while we decorate the tree tonight! I am so tired!

Have a great day all!

Sarah
