Deb!! Take care, and biggest of hugs to you!

Jill, I hope everyone feels better soon.

Courtney, I am leaving on Tuesday and coming back late Thursday night. Then on Friday afternoon, after Kaitlyn and Rowen my grandson get out of school, we are leaving for DL!! Woo hoo for that too. I'm hoping to finally see the Candlelight Processional on Sunday. I will probably have to stake out spots really early, but I am used to that.

Kelly, have fun!

Donna, So what Shakespeare did you see?

Steph, cute pics! And I got the word from Dave, that I can throw away all my other stuffing recipes. He loved the one you gave us. It was really good.:thumbsup2

Tina, Yosemite is going to be gorgeous now. It's raining here, so I bet it is snowing there right now. :cloud9: Be careful!

All Diva Vegas babes!! Have fun, and try not to get into trouble!

Theresa, Your DH sounds like a keeper. I've had my feet filed down too much too. Especially around the heal!! Youza, that hurt!!!
You should try San Fran in December some time. Have you ever been there at all? It's just alot of fun. We are staying right across the street from Macys. Which faces Union Square, along with Saks, and Nieman Marcus all decked out for Holidays. It's so pretty. Then in the middle of Union Square is a huge Christmas tree. The historic trolley car is there too. Every store you can imagine out there is within walking distance. I mean every store!!! About a block away is another shopping center that is huge!! The Mall of America does not hold a candle to this area.

Can you tell I like it there? :rotfl:

Hi Melody - I'll be at DL on that Sunday too, I'm meeting a friend I had met when I hung out on the DIS singles thread and this is her first time to DL. Not sure if I will be staying for the CP but I'll be on the look out for you! CP is worth seeing at least once. The one time we did go to the CP they started lining people up for the second showing along Main Street near the Emporium and when it was finished and they let us in the area we rushed right in and found fairly good seats. We saw people holding the benches on MS when we arrived that morning. Good luck with getting good seats and have a great time at DL! Maybe we'll see you there!

Yes, DH is a keeper :lovestruc It's nice to have one of the good ones for sure! I've never been to San Francisco.... You'll have to share your hotel so I can pick a good one and go :thumbsup2 That sounds really nice. I can tell you like it there - and I think I would too ::yes:: It's one of the places I always tell Frank we have to visit, even for a weekend.

Vicki - have fun at DL this weekend. I have never seen the CP - never been to DL around Christmas. I'm thinking next year would be nice :cool2:

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Friday night. My parents decided they needed a date night so they left us kids here at home. Diana and Tyrae did some black Friday shopping and brought home pizza for lunch. It's almost time to eat dinner but I'm sure no one wants pizza twice in one day.

Jingles just woke up from a looooooong nap. She fell asleep on top of Diana who was laying against Tyrae on the sofa. We were watching tv but they both fell asleep. I haven't napped (probably because I got up after 12pm today :lmao:) and Anais is watching cartoons on Netflix.

I wonder if we'll get the tree tonight but I'm not holding my breath.

I haven't checked the mail but I assume Sarah's Christmas card arrived.....gotta go check!

We went to Kohl's and Michaels. And Von's to get some cranberry sauce for my turkey sandwich!!

Oh Steph, the kids look so cute in that picture!

Melody, I'll be at DL on Friday and Saturday. We're leaving Saturday late morning/early afternoon. Keep an eye out for me! And I will for you too!

Vicki, too bad I'll miss you at DL by one day!

Cristabel, are you still going to be at WOD on Saturday morning?

I don't know anymore because Daniela (my cousin's DFi) is having her bridal shower that day. I was thinking of driving home Friday and then getting a ride with my aunt and cousin on Saturday. I think it would be a lot of driving going from school to my house, to my aunt's house, back home and then back to school all in two days.

Heck yeah, that would be a lot of driving!

So the sun came out this morning & the Christmas decorations went up!! We can't put lights on the house since its so tall, but my yard and porch are loaded with lights and Christmas cheer!!

Avoided the stores...have no interest in dealing with large rude crowds!! There isn't a deal out there worth it to me to do that. Hoping those who did it....survived & found something "joyful" in doing so......I've just found that the Christmas spirit doesn't seem to be out there on Black Friday.

Have a great Friday!!

PS: I got my first Christmas card today from the exchange!! Thanx Sarah!!!! :cloud9:

Glad it got to you! I still have a few to mail out but most of them went out Wednesday.

Just back from Black Friday shopping left this morning at 3:30am and now its 2:40pm. Don't know why I do it, the crowds drive me nuts!! Got my first christmas card today from Sarah May (Sahbushka) it is very cute! I also got my stocking exchange gift today. Going to be hard to wait until the 12th though but I will. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Woke up with a chest cold yesterday but was able to get dinner together and fed the many bodies at the homestead! Well off to get a shower and a friends openhouse tonight! Over to Central University in the am to watch football in 30 degree weather. So excited to drive over the pass and back in one day but thats what you do to make hubby happy watching his college team.

Have a great weekend and hopefully I will get to decorate some this weekend.

Sounds like you had a good day overall!

You ladies are crazy to go out in those crowds for BF shopping. Our crazy shopping day isn't until after Christmas and I stay home. One girl I work with decided to cross the border yesterday and spend the evening and overnight shopping then came into work at 7am. She was exhausted but said it was worth it.

Steph: Cute picture of the kids and Santa!

It has been crazy at work today and I felt so bad for the guy who cashiered from midnight until 8! It was worse than a holiday weekend shift! I am cranky today. Too many rude people and I am afraid I might be getting rude back.

I finished my book...I have been reading these light murder mysteries with recipes in them! If you go to the sight www.murdershebaked.com you will see them. I am getting so involved in the characters that I actually emailed the auther and told her which of the guys the main character should choose to marry! I know, I know...they are just really cute books. I have made some of the recipes too and they are fantastic! My boss even got mad at me because once recipe I brought in was so good he couldn't stop eating them! He made me take the rest to a different office and those people kept asking me for the recipe! I found a recipe in the most recent book I am going to try for New Years Eve. I don't know where we will be going, but I am taking those with me!

Have a great day all!

Sarah

It's late but I'm not sleepy. We just watched Surviving the Holidays with Lewis Black and had many laughs. We didn't get our Christmas tree tonight so it'll have to be tomorrow. My parents went out on a date night and saw the Blind Side. I just stayed home and watched television and ate ice cream. :thumbsup2

It's raining over here and I love rain!

I hope everyone has a good night!

That sounds like a really interesting series of books.

It's raining over here and I love rain!

I hope everyone has a good night!

You should move to Washington. We have lots!

Deb- Do take it easy and enjoy not vacuuming!

Mel-sounds like a lovely jaunt. Makes me want to go to SF too!

Beth, Jammies are all good in Vegas. Hope you had fun.

Ladies that hit Black Friday:thumbsup2 I did my early run to the outlet mall and snagged my XWide shoes for my son. Got sucked into Gymboree outlet and got 1 pair sweats, new jammies, and 4 new long sleeved shirts for $34 out the door. Also got Childrens' Place socks: 10 pairs $10. Two pairs of Levi's $40 out the door. And...a pair of awesome black boots for ME!

As I was leaving, the mobs were arriving and there were people pulling up and parking on the grass and sidewalks. There was a line of cars about a mile long waiting to pull into the outlet. I don't think they knew the mall opened early, but I was sure glad I knew that. It was crazy!

And here's a story from my morning for you gals, just because.

Sometimes having an analytical minded son is sort of interesting. For example, this morning the question was "What's a gazillion -200?" I have no idea son, from me. Dad says, (and yes, he is an anyalytical, mathmatician dude too!) "A gazillion is not a real number". Son says, " Well what is the biggest number then?" (He is also a competetive type, so needs to know the biggest number so he can always one up his friends, right??) So Mom says lets google it, and she does.

This is what I found: Gazillion is real, but is a concept, representing a really large amount of something. Further information revealed that the absolute largest number is a Septillionth, in the US that is.

I still like Gazillion better. It is just funner. (also not a real word:))

Okay, I am off to decorate the Xmas tree. Little one has been dying to do it, but the big one was away, so I wanted to wait for him to get back.

Hope you all have a fabulous day.

Tracey

I just finished reading a Hannah Swenson mystery, Plum Pudding Murder, and I'm on the wait list at the library for the next one, Apple Turnover Murder. I love her books!! Some other authors that are like her are Diane Mott Davidson, Janet Evanovich and Carolyn Hart, although the last 2 don't involve cooking but the books by Diane Mott Davidson include recipes as well!!

Hi ladies.

I only had time to skim through the last page or two of posts. My inlaws are here waiting for me. Going out to Springs Preserve, and Chuck E Cheese with the family, and then tonight I'm meeting up with some of the ladies for dinner and Kahunaville.

Hope all is well, talk to you later.

Greetings from the Sierras! It is COLD here! No snow, though. Marty is out hiking with our friends, and I offered to stay back and get some work done while our friends' son who is recovering from possible H1N1 is doing his homework. We were all a little worried at first, but he's had no complications and is now eating everything in sight! The guy is a nearly 6-foot tall 13 year old, afterall, so it takes a lot of food to fuel his body!!!

I only had a second to skim back, but Deb--please take it easy and let the boys take care of you!

Hola!

So last night at 4:00AM, our fire alarm in our apartment goes off. It was SO SO earsplittingly loud! It was unbelievable! I woke up, went to my parents room and my Dad was holding a pillow over the alarm speaker thing. The dogs were all scared and lights were flashing outside. It took about 25 minutes for the fire department to come and shut the dang thing off. My ears were ringing for a good 20 minutes after that. I don't think there was a real fire though. This happens quite often and it's always in the middle of the night. I didn't fall back asleep until almost 6AM.

Today, DBF and I are going to go look at Old Navy. I'm trying not to buy anything, but they have a bunch of clothes for only $5. We're going to go see what's left.

Deb, get a good rest. :goodvibes

Would you believe that I have 2 Zhu Zhu Hamsters and 2 playthings to go with them? They retail for $8.00 each and now they are selling for up to $50.00 each.

Now I have to figure out what to get for 3 young men in their late 20s.

:
You are a power shopper! I am really curious as to what Zhu Zhu Hamsters are!
Guys in their 20s... games like rock band if they don't have it or any of the new hot games... itunes gift card, starbucks card.

Aren't some Divas heading to Las Vegas this weekend?
:

Yes - they are having fun already I think... :)

I'm hoping to finally see the Candlelight Processional on Sunday. I will probably have to stake out spots really early, but I am used to that.

Donna, So what Shakespeare did you see?
:

Love's Labours Lost. It was the London Globe company, together with the RSC, the best Shakespearean actors (outside of the big stars that moved on).One guy was from Angels and Insects (which I'll have to watch again). DH got tickets a long time ago, first row. Lots of audience interaction, so it was a hoot. Are you a Shakespeare fan too?

You've got me drooling over your SF stay.

Is the CP every night or only weekends?

It has been crazy at work today and I felt so bad for the guy who cashiered from midnight until 8! It was worse than a holiday weekend shift! I am cranky today. Too many rude people and I am afraid I might be getting rude back.

Sarah

I'm glad you made it through that!

Tracey, gazillion is easier to say. ;)

Have fun, Beth!
Tina, keep warm and use lots of Clorox or whatever kills the virus..

I am going to a Three Stooges film fest.
Really.

Good morning Divas!

We will be leaving soon to go to DL for my birthday weekend. :cool1: I hope everyone has a great remainder of their long, holiday weekend!

Oh and I got a Kindle for my birthday...I am soooo excited! That's the reason we didn't get an early start today to DL because I've been playing with it all morning. :cloud9:

Please Stay Well and Be safe!

Oooo Vicki I'm sooo jealous! I've been wanting a Kindle! Yay for you!!! What day is your birthday!?

Good afternoon!
It's very chilly over here. I took Jingles out this morning to relieve herself and she just ran straight back inside!

For everyone sending Christmas cards:

for Califoria Dreamer - the last number on the zipcode should be 2
