Sarah I am so glad to see that you put your black bananas in the freezer too! Mr. CA thinks I'm crazy to have black frozen bananas! ;) I just told him, ha...I am not the only one with bananas in my freezer!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your precious family!

Hi Vicki! Thank you, I hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful! They may think it's crazy but they sure love it when they smell that yummy goodness of Banana Bread baking in the oven!

Sarah

Happy Thanksgiving Ladies!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day with their families!!! Don't eat too much!

Anyone going shopping early tomorrow morning??

I would rather get a second job or do without, than go to the Black Friday Sales! What a nightmare.
That being said, The Stridrite outlet mall is having a buy one get one free sale and since my little one has such enormous ham hock feet and I have to buy him extra wide shoes, I will be going to that one store only to get him two new pairs of shoes for $30. So much better than Nordstrom price of $70 a pair.

Beth, I am so thankful that you started this thread and brought together this great group of amazing gals from all states (two countries), and various occupations. Thank you!

Quotiing Donna above. And Ditto. Thank you Beth!

Thank you all for your well wishes with my lingering cough. It is such a small annoying thing, but I feel extra conscientous about not letting it get worse. It is getting better everyday so don't worry.

Dear Deb. I am glad you are getting out of the hospital and will be with your loved ones today.

Oh no, Tracey, you're still coughing? You got sick before I did. :sad2: My cough went away this past Monday, I was coughing for 2 weeks and it was driving me insane, you poor thing..

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Donna, I hope you have a wonderful day with your friends eating seafood. I'm jealous! I saw a trailer for that movie and looked wonderful. I so rarely make it to a movie, but I might have to make time for it.

I'm so thankful for all of you! I wonder what Dawn's family is doing today? I'm sure it's a hard day for them. We are doing the big meal tomorrow because DH is working today.

All the talk of food has my mind spinning. I'm trying to come up with a Christmas week menu since I've talked my mom into coming out!

I hope everyone is having a great day. :goodvibes

And now we have gals from three countries! (US, Canada, and Switzerland). :thumbsup2

Everyone be safe as you travel to your Thanksgiving destinations. I just finished baking my pies (I was going to do it yesterday, but I just had way too much homework to do, so I did it this morning). Talk about FRESH pies for Thanksgiving! :woohoo:

Love you all!

Kelly - Love those lyrics from Nickelback. Thanks for posting them! :thumbsup2

Debra - Take care sweetie. I wish we lived a closer together so you could spend Thanksgiving with us.

Tracey - you tell that cough of yours to SCRAM! :goodvibes

Many special blessing for Dawn's family. :littleangel:

I'll be one of the crazy ones out at 4am...ok maybe 3. :confused3
Although I'm not a huge fan of the craziness....I really can't afford "not" to go out on Black Friday. That being said...I have never had a bad experience on BF. Lots of lines and such but I've never seen the stampeding that they always show on the news. I won't go anywhere near a mall, I try to stay off in the small strip malls and things like Target and Wal Mart. My sister and I went in on a GPS for my parents. I got lucky and got a great deal on the one I was wanting this morning online so that's one big thing off my list.

I bet everyones houses smell wonderful! Mine certainly does. I have half the dinner prepped and ready and pumpkin bread baking as I type.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Diva's! I hope you all are having a wonderful day :)

Mine has continued to be wacky.......as this whole month has turned out to be. DH and Parker are sick, DH with H1N1.....and both now on Tamiflu, as the doctor yesterday was pretty sure Parker was following right after DH. With the 3 H1N1 related deaths so close to our family over the last 10 days...I'm a bit FREAKED out, especially with Parker and his other health issues! I have charts for them both of them with meds & times, so I don't overlap either with tylenol, breathing treatments or anything else they are taking. My brain is just fried right now. Of course this means they won't be going to my inlaws house today, since my FIL starts chemo tomorrow (postponed from yesterday). Luckily the rest of us feel fine, although I think I may have Lysol & Clorox poisening....LOL
I've had to work a few late nights due to the holiday hours, so getting home after midnight and then sleeping on the couch the last 3 nights has my back a bit whacked. I have today and tomorrow off from both jobs luckily and hope to still be able to go to my 12 hour scrapbooking crop tomorrow. Luckily the store is 5 minutes away, so I can always run home to dose everybody up and refill coolers & snacks. I have Parker stuck in his room, watching TV, playing his computer and I put a card table in there for him to eat or do puzzles at when he wants to get up. Masks are hanging on their doorknobs if they need to come out for any reason. I don't mess around....LOL...because I DON"T want it!!
I really have alot to be thankful for...and I am :)
Hugs to all
Jill

I'm glad and sad that I won't be out on black Friday. It's a fun thing to do with your friends but around mid December I want to do more Christmas shopping and I'm all done by then. I won't really be doing any shopping this year because I don't have a seasonal job this winter. I'm looking to scrape together enough money to buy presents for my mom, dad, sisters and Tyrae. I'm aiming for under $10 each.

It's amazing how a bath can change a dog. We bathed Jingles and she smells pretty and feels a lot softer!

:rotfl:

My Mom gave our dogs a bath yesterday and our little Chihuahua, Belle, hid under the table and my Mom couldn't find her for a whole hour. Finally my Mom said "It's okay, Belle. I won't give you a bath, you can come out now." And she came out and went to lay on the couch. :confused3 So she still smells like a stinky dog.

Hope every one had a blessed Thanksgiving!!

I survived 26 people in the house....all the food came out & it was fun getting together......Just wish a couple people would have volunteered to help with the clean up but they all beat feet when they were done with the pie.

Oh well....still fun & thankful to have a large family to share the holidays with!!

I think I have some bananas in my freezer I need to bake into bread....I am going to a christmas ornament exchange on the 4th. It's a potluck so maybe I will make it and take it there!
I want to do an ornament exchange and potluck. That sound so fun. Dang, why can't we all live closer.

Funny. Isn't Texas toast with garlic?????:rotfl2:

LOL!! Yes, but no. ;) The Texas toast I am talking about is just a loaf of bread found in the regular bread aisle. Please if anyone is reading that, do not get the frozen garlic Texas toast. That won't be good in bread pudding. lol Here is more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_toast

No, thank you all. It takes the whole group to work together to keep the thread and friendships going. :grouphug:

That's right! We sure do get around. :rolleyes1

Hello Divas! I hope you all have a very festive Thanksgiving! :goodvibes
You too. And don't worry, I'll take good care of your mom when she's here in Vegas. 4 a.m. okay for a bedtime? :rolleyes1

Jill, you are an amazing blast of energy. You are so careful about this, it sounds like you are winning the war against germs!

It's amazing how a bath can change a dog.!

tag fairy opportunity?

Oh dear, DizNee, 26 people and not a single one offered to help clean up?? You are so gracious about that. Next time, paper plates?

And now we have gals from three countries! (US, Canada, and Switzerland). :thumbsup2

Yes, my heart goes out to Dawn's family.

I forgot to count Jen's new Swiss address!;)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm so glad your mom is going there after all. :yay:
Funny, this year the seafood place had a turkey option. Because it came with wine and pumpkin cheesecake, we all went for it.

Make a yule log for Christmas!

D, your yule log sounds interesting. Can you share the recipe? If it's chocolate, I'm in! :thumbsup2 I hope their turkey was good! Pumpkin cheesecake is yummy.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Jill, I hope your family gets well soon, and you don't come down with anything.

For anyone who's interested, one of my cousins here in El Paso told me that the El Paso Times has Dawn listed with an online guestbook, so I went and found it. If you feel like signing you can go here.

Good morning and Happy Friday all!

First off thank you Mary Jo for including the link to Dawn's website. You know even though I know this is true I don't think it is REALLY going to seem real until we go in Feb and she is NOT there. This is all just so sureal. I thought about her family alot yesterday and she was such a happy person and I know how much she liked to make everything special and magical and I can only imagine what holidays must have been like around her place. I am sure there must be a HUGE hole in their lives and hearts with her gone. I can't even imagine!

Jill I am very sorry about your dh and son. I am praying for you that they have a quick recovery and that no one else in your family takes ill! As someone else said you are amazing to do all that you do and I hope things start getting better for you soon!

It sounds like those that posted had a nice thanksgiving. Ours was nice and laid back. We just had 2 sets of relatives over. We stopped at McD's on the way to mom's to grab a quick sandwhich before we went because we always have our dinner late in the day and I felt SO bad. There was a little old man in there eating by himself with a radio. He was dressed nicely and he said hi to Shelby (Katy was at grandma's helping cook). I don't think he had anywhere to go and Shane and I both said we wish that we could bring him with us! I also said that when the girls are older I want to go volunteer one year helping feed the homeless because not only is a great lesson for the girls but it is giving back and I think it would feel great to help those less fortunate!

Anyway I am off here in a bit to do a little BF shopping with mom but not a whole lot. Maybe one or two stores. I don't really NEED anything but just want to see if there are any deals we can't live with out and mom still needs to get the girls a few things for Christmas.

Then later in the day we are going to drive up to Truckee and supposedly Peggy Flemming is going to be at Squaw and going to put on some type of ice show so we are going to watch that and the christmas tree lighting I beleive tonight and then tomorrow take the girls ice skating and then come back Sunday morning. That is the plan, we shall see if it works out.

The girls have minimum days all next week for parent teacher conferences so that should be interesting. I hope they are doing ok in school. They BOTH got progress reports so hopefuly they have improved since then. Getting EITHER of them to buckle down and do their work is like pulling teeth! And then next Thurs mom and I were invited to a christmas party/ornament exchange as well and then Friday mom and dad leave for their trip and I have a girl scout deal with the girls. So it is going to be a bit of a busy week. The girls have a holiday lights tour with their troup on the 11th and their christmas party on the 18th and Katy starts indoor soccer on the 5th so Dec is going to be a BUSY month for us! Luckily I have most of Katy's stuff bought already for her birthday and I have pretty much figured out what all I am going to do and who I am going to invite so now I just have to wait a few weeks and send out her invites. I always have to do it WAY early because of the holidays to give people plenty of notice.

Anyway that's my crazy schedule for the next month! PHEW!

Hope those that are BF shopping are having fun and for those that are just relaxing enjoy! TTYL!

Thanx for sharing the link Mary Jo!!

Good morning! I'm back from BF shopping, and getting ready to go to our friends' cabin near Yosemite. I can't wait to get in the trees! Have a great weekend, girls!
