Hi Gals,
I have not read back much so forgive my lack of response. Mostly just really sad to be cancelling my Christmas trip. My Mom has been having some medical issues and it turns out she is having a procedure on Monday and I want to be here. She told me not to worry and to go, but I can't. I mean she is going all the way under, I could not live with myself if something happened. We have been very fortunate in the Disney time we have had this year and I am not having a pity party, but am just sad:(
When I told my 7 year old, he got all sad and almost cried, and said, "I really wanted to go on Screamin!", and then two seconds later was onto the next thing. So I guess I am the only one traumatized. (I think my husband is relieved!)

Well, I'll be back again some day!

Good Night all.
Tracey

Sad times :sad1:, but family comes first so I totally understand. Hopefully we'll see you (if only for a day) in February!

I'll be back home when you get to DL. :sad2: My birthday is Friday so I'll be in DL then but head home the next morning. I hope you and your family have a great time in the park. :goodvibes

Sorry we'll miss you, but have an awesome birthday!!!!

 I'm sorry you have to miss your trip, but you made the right decision. Your mom will be in my prayers that everything goes smoothly and now you'll just have fun planning another family trip for a future date.

Tracey, I'm sorry you have to miss your trip but you are definitely doing the right thing by your mom.

Beth, I don't really like to go Christmas shopping but I really like to wrap presents.

I'm here at Starbucks practicing my essay for my history 110 final tomorrow. I'm not at the one on campus but closest to school off campus and it is bumpin'! Full of students studying and students coming and out either having just finished their finals or heading back to the TSU to study some more. The TSU (Titan student Union) is open 24 hours a day during finals weeks. I passe through yesterday and I saw people sleeping, eating and studying. I think it's easier to suffer together than alone :lmao:

Is anyone else watching the Sing Off? I think this is going to be my new TV addiction. It makes me want to go sing everywhere.

Cheryl, good luck at your eye appointment manana. Contacts again for you! Yay! :3dglasses

Tracey, I'm so sorry about your Mom. I hope she's okay. I'll pray for her tonight.

Cristabel, you study your little college bootay off! :teacher:

Oh and Deb, you rock, congrats on your wonderful GPA! Keep it up! :yay:

Heather, your baby GIRL is beautiful! :cutie:

Grades are in....3.5 GPA this quarter! I did deserve the UGGs!!

OH Deb! Forgot to say...YEAH FOR YOU! I admire your commitment and hard work.

Beth, darn tooth!~ Hopefully it won't be too painful, either physically or financially.

Everyone-Thanks for your responses about my cancelled trip. I knew you all would understand. Also, thanks for the prayers for my Mom. It will be a relief to know that she is okay when all is said and done.

Deb: Congrats on the grades!! And, YES, you deserved the Uggs! And now everytime you wear them you can remember that you do and feel that much more special!

Tracey: So sorry that you're trip was canceled, but yes, you made the right decision. And that Feb trip is just around the corner!

To those going to DL: Enjoy! Soak up some of that DL holiday magic for me, will ya?

My interview went BLEH. Turned out it was not for the job I thought I applied for but something else. Whoever said trying to get a job was fun. It ain't. And interviewing doesn't get funner the more you do it. Get's less fun.

Brother's flight was delayed. He went through Chicago from Portland and got stuck there for some five hours plus. Somehow I predicted that. I actually made my parents change their flight (they were supposed to go through Chicago too) and they were a little irked at the extra cost, but now I feel better about that. An international flight is hard enough without adding on hours and hours of delays. I have no idea when my brother and his kids will arrive now, but it will be tonight and not at noon.

Got to get the kids up and get ready to start the day!

I think only Jen and I are awake.. and that's coz she's in Switzerland! :lmao:

Oh, and on the whole shaving thing, I am a member of the same club as Theresa and Linda--not a lot of hair and very light colored, so no need to shave very often.
!

I hate you. :rotfl2:
(not really!) I'm in the shaving category.

Tracey, I am really sad I won't get to see you there, but totally understand. This is the right choice, the only choice.

Good Morning Divas!:)
oh yeah!:thumbsup2 Donna - you were sorely missed and we must plan a gathering again.

Definitely. When it ended up not storming as bad as predicted later that night, I really regretted the decision. But at the time, it seemed like it was either get in a five car accident in the rain or stay home.

I have 2 pairs of Uggs and I wear them everyday. I have them on right now. I love love them. I wear them everywhere. I even wear them DL all day. My first pair that I had, I had them for 5 years and put them to good use, let me tell you. The ones I have on right now, are on their 3rd year. I love the Ultras, cuz you can replace the inner linings on the sole. I do that everyear, so they are nice and fresh and feel good. And don't ever wear socks with them. That will make them stink. Can you tell I love them?:rotfl:

Donna, that rain was scary last weekend. Crazy!!
Were you down here? Or did you see it on the news? (just wondering how much coverage we got)

She is right, they tell you never to wear socks with them. They are the most comfortable shoes/boots ever. Did you know they were designed by a surfer to be worn after surfing?

So they stink if you wear socks with them?? Who knew :confused3 I thought it would be the opposite (like when my DS wears his sneakers without socks - blech!)
!

I know, it's weird but true.

YAY!!:cool1::cool1: IT IS OUR FIRST SNOW DAY! WELL ICE DAY. :cool1::cool1: We had freezing rain last night. So I am sure the roads are going to be way fun to drive on!

Thanks everyone for congrats on grades!

Good luck to Cristabel & Bree this wk on finals! I am so glad they are over!

I guess today we will make cookies & I will go see if there are any sleds left at the stores. I am sure they are all picked over.

Good morning and happy hump day all!

Tracey I am so sorry you had to cancel your trip. I KNOW how special these Disney trips make us all feel and to look forward to them for so long and then have to cancel at the last minute is really tough but I agree with everyone that you made the right decision. Many prayers to you and your mom that she comes through her procedure with flying colors! Does this maybe mean you can come for longer in Feb though? :)

Good luck to Cristabel and Bree on your remaining finals. As I said I don't envy you guys one bit! I know how tough it is to do all that yucky studying!

Jen sorry your interview didn't go well. I always say things are meant to be and obviously that job wasn't for you. The right one will come along evenutally and you will be so glad that you didn't take one you would have regretted!! Hope your brother gets there soon and you guys have a blast!

Steph have a GREAT time at DL for your birthday! You so deserve it! And to all the others going have a BLAST! I so love it at this time of year.

Beth glad you got all your shopping done. Doesn't it feel great! I've had my shopping for the girls AND Katy's birthday done for awhile now but I STILL don't have anything for mom and dad. They are REALLY hard to buy for and I have NO clue what to get for them. UGH! I am going to have to do some quick thinking before next week!

Shane went to the bank yesterday and got everything straightened out with the accts and they insisted that he had to pay his reg NOW because he refinanced his truck loan eventhough it wasn't due till the end of the month so I paid THAT last night online. 600 bucks OUCH! But it's done and over with so now the only other big expense we have left is Katy's party the end of the month. WHEW! At least I don't have to worry about doing anything or buying anything for my anniversary this year LOL. Course I don't know what I am going to do about paying for this trip. I was going to pay off our 2 visas with our tax refund and then use part of what was left over for the trip but we always pay 200 on each visa a month but this past week Shane only paid 50 on each one which barely did anything and then he charged HIS up to almost 3000!!! EEK! He only had a 600 balance before that. I still owe 1500 on mine. We usually get like 4000 back from the feds and 700 from the state but this year I don't anticipate getting ANYTHING back from the state and possibly owing even though we claim married and 0 because they changed our laws here cuz the state is broke and then on our federal we lost lynn on the child tax credit so that is 1000 right there off our deductions. That really hurts when the kids are all you have cuz we don't own the house. So I am thinking this year we may only get 2000 back or something and that won't even pay off the cards much less give me anything left over for the trip. :( I guess I will just have to wait and see. If that is the case though I may have to scale WAY back on what meals and stuff I plan on doing. Luckily my plane ticket is already paid for and mom is paying for our room. Oh well. We shall see what happens I guess.

Anyway today it is supposed to rain AGAIN and I just have more laundry to do and just hang out. I didn't go to the post office yesterday so I will prob run up there but otherwise I have no plans to go anywhere. The girls have their last Awana tonight till after the holidays. They get to dress up all christmasy and they have a contest and I am sure they will do something fun for them. They are looking forward to that.

Then tomorrow I have to take them to the dentist after school for their cleanings and then Friday Lynn is supposedly coming over to pick up the rest of her stuff and I don't think we have any other plans. Shane is supposed to be going back to the contractors school starting tonight through the weekend to study. Saturday we have another soccer game and nothing planned for Sunday except I will prob take the girls to church. Then Monday morning shane has his re-test and the girls are off on break. We are HOPING to make christmas cookies with mom one day and I still need to take the girls to see Santa. I am sure our days of doing that are almost over since Katy will be 10 this year. And then we are prob going to Truckee for the weekend after christmas. So that is my schedule for the next little bit.

Anyway hope everyone has a GREAT day today and TTYL

Like many other divas I live in my UGGs all winter long. However, my Target FUGGs are just as good as my "real" UGGs and cost only $25-30 depending on style as opposed to $100+. Beth, you should ask Santa and maybe you will get a pair (or at least a gift card so you can get them yourself)!
I think the only thing Santa will bring me is a dentist visit. ;)

I have a pair of boots that I ordered from Lady Foot Locker when we lived in Michigan. They aren't Uggs but some Australian sheepskin boot. So warm and super comfy. I wear them without socks too. That's what I had on when we met for lunch on Sunday.
They were selling for $100 and I got them on clearance for around 20 bucks. Not sure what brand they are, but I can't imagine Uggs are any better or more comfy.

Hi Gals,
I have not read back much so forgive my lack of response. Mostly just really sad to be cancelling my Christmas trip.
I'm sorry Tracey. I know first hand what a bummer it is to cancel a trip you were looking forward to. But you're a good daughter to be there for your mom. I hope her procedure goes quickly and smoothly.

My interview went BLEH. Turned out it was not for the job I thought I applied for but something else. Whoever said trying to get a job was fun. It ain't. And interviewing doesn't get funner the more you do it. Get's less fun.
 Sorry about that.
And sorry for your brother's delay. It's not surprising though. Chicago is the worst!! Living in northern MI there were no direct flights anywhere, so you had to either change planes in Detroit or Chicago. We always chose Detroit. Chicago pretty much guaranteed you'd get stuck or delayed.

YAY!!:cool1::cool1: IT IS OUR FIRST SNOW DAY! WELL ICE DAY. :cool1::cool1:
Be safe! But enjoy the day.

We are HOPING to make christmas cookies with mom one day and I still need to take the girls to see Santa. I am sure our days of doing that are almost over since Katy will be 10 this year. Awww, Santa visits and baking cookies. Love it! :santa:

Good morning ladies!! Happy Hump Day!

I want this week to be over already. We have some fun things planned for the weekend and I am ready to get on with them!! :cool1:

The twins are home today. No school due to teacher conferences so that's where I'll be heading off to a bit later.

Hope you all have a good day. :)

Go morning my Diva babes! :cool1:

I very quick check in with everyone before I head back to the hospital.

My dad is stable. The doctors are trying to figure out why his white and red blood cell count is so low....they are suspicious he is bleeding out somewhere. They did an endoscopy (sp?) on him yesterday, but found nothing, so now they are talking about doing a colonoscopy and possibly getting a bone marrow sample.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I didn't have any time to read back other than just a couple of posts, but I wanted to say:

Debra - Congrats on the awesome grades girl!!! :woohoo:

Jen - Sorry about the bummer job interview. As smart and accomplished as you are, you'll have them knocking at your door soon.

Tracy - I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip.

I'm sure I missed a lot so I'm giving hugs ALL AROUND! :grouphug:

Love to all my Diva girls.

Tracey--sorry about the trip--I know you're disappointed. But it will be good to be with your Mom and your family.

Jen--bummer about the interview. I hate job-hunting.

Everyone with Uggs--I've always wanted to try them--do they run narrow or wide? I have fat feet.

And finally--a question: should I live on the wild side or shouldn't I? I have a dilemma. that's all I can say.

We are HOPING to make christmas cookies with mom one day and I still need to take the girls to see Santa. I am sure our days of doing that are almost over since Katy will be 10 this year.
I wouldn't be too sure about it ending soon. My 23 yr old brother is coming to get my kids today so he can get his picture with Santa done with them, my 18 yr old sister and 17 yr old brother. Some traditions never die.

And finally--a question: should I live on the wild side or shouldn't I? I have a dilemma. that's all I can say.

A charter member of "The Bad Girls' Club" needs to ask this??? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Hope we'll at least hear about it later. :goodvibes

And finally--a question: should I live on the wild side or shouldn't I? I have a dilemma. that's all I can say.
This from the person who was downing free shots, and dancing up a storm in Vegas??? ;)

Wild side, baby! :thumbsup2

Cheryl - I'm with the girls, take the wild side. :cool1:

Jen - sorry about the interview.

I hope you all are having a great day.

I'm off from work and yet I'm working. :confused3 It happens just about everytime I'm off from work. But at least I'm working from home. ;)

Take care, talk to you all later.

steph
