Hi Ladies..
It has been a crazy couple of weeks! My kids have been sick and then Thanksgiving came around much too fast for me this year! I hope that all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as much as we did. I was very proud of myself this year. We had my parents and sister over for dinner and I was only 15 minutes late on our scheduled dinner time, so that in itself is a major accomplishment :upsidedow

I have been away from the boards and it has taken me a day or so to read thru all of the postings to catch up. After reading all of the posts, I am just soo very overwhelmed right now. I think that this is the 5th or 6th draft and I keep deleting text and changing what I want to say.. I know TMI!

First of all, my prayers are with Dawn's family and all of the friends/family she has on the boards. I have been thinking of her a lot and when I read the news it hit me pretty hard. Although I never met her, my heart aches for her and her family. I am sad that I never got to meet her. She was an amazing woman that touched the lives of many. She will be missed. :littleangel:

Callie - I am keeping your mom and grandma in my prayers. I have personal experience with this and it is very hard to sit back and watch it unfold. Be strong..

Debra - I am soo sorry for your loss... Before my oldest son was born, I had a miscarriage. Although it was early on, it was devastating and I was angry for a long time. My mom told me that things happen for a reason and that God will only give you what you can handle. That was soo NOT what I wanted to hear, but in time I understood what she meant. :goodvibes Take care.. I am thinking of you

For those of you that have been sick, had sick kids, or just plain ol bad luck, I feel for you and send positive thoughts your way. :goodvibes

2009 has been a really crappy year overall, but instead of thinking of the negatives that have happened this year, I need to think of the positives or I will finish off that bottle of kettle one vodka in my cabinet! I am truly thankful that I have a job that I enjoy and that my family has a home filled with love. My husband can be a major butt head sometimes, but he is the best father that I could have asked for for my kids. I am thankful to be a mom to 2 of the kindest, thoughtful and loving boys. The best complement that I can receive about my kids is what good kids they are. Don't get me wrong, I think they are super cute too, but I am most proud of the kindness that they show to others. I am thankful that my Dad survived his melanoma diagnosis and is clear of his cancer. I am thankful that my parents and sister live close by so I can see them whenever I want to and they can be involved my kids lives as they grow into young men.

I am blessed with a good life surrounded by many friends and lots of new ones that I will meet in February. You are a fantastic group of ladies :goodvibes

Thanks for letting me get all of this out!! Sorry if it was long…
Wendy, What a nice post.:goodvibes

I look forward to meeting you in February. :grouphug:

Oh rats!! I would love that, but I won't be there....... poop!

There's still time--book a flight and come shop with me!

Yeah! Book a flight! Do it! :rolleyes1

I’m hoping I can get DBF up for this. He can get his Fun Card that morning at 6:30am at the ticket booths since it’s a MM. I want to get his Mom a birthday present (her birthday is the same day as his) and my Dad (next Friday). Plus I really want to see what they have for sale (for me!!). We don’t have to check out of the Hojo until 12. So maybe we can come back and take a nap or something before we head home.

Hi Divas!!

Can't believe how fast time is flying. This month went by so fast. That just means we are closer to our trip!!!
Hey Stacie! We miss you around here. I hope things are well with you.

Hey - has anyone heard from Wendell lately? I haven't seen her around for a bit.......
I do hope she's doing okay. I saw her post on the exchange thread.

Beth~ Marcie said that Doris was a hoot! I loved her comment at Dicks!
Wait till you see their pics. She's great. I want to be that spunky when (God willing) I'm her age! :rotfl:

Hi Wendy. Good to see you posting. Sorry things have been hectic. I agree with Melody, that was a nice post and you are right, we have to focus on the good in our lives. Can't wait to meet you in Feb!

Uh, nope sorry. Didn't she tell you? She's coming here in like two weeks! :rolleyes1

I don't know if anyone else saw this, but the free gift for the first 1,000 people at the AP shopping event coming up on Saturday is a vinylmation.

So, Cristabel, that should be motivation enough for you to get up early and join in the fun!

:woohoo: Yeah, Cristabel!! :rolleyes1

Well I won't be making it this weekend. I'm driving home Friday, Saturday is the bridal shower and Sunday I come back. It's okay, I'll just buy what I can when I go again. Right now I can't think of when that will be. I want to go before I head home for Christmas. My sister and I planned on going in January but now that we have our puppy we don't want to leave her in the kennel for the majority of the day.

Afternoon gals! Am back from work. What a stressful day. Glad that is over. Mom has a bunch of deals that are just NOT going well. She has one client she has been working with for several months that is REALLY picky and they FINALLY found a house they loved, made an offer and now it has a TON of other offers and theirs was rejected. She was fighting it out with that one all day. Plus we have another one that has been in escrow since August and OUR client moved into a new house so is paying two mortgages (ONLY becuase it was supposed to close MONTHS ago) and then it didn't because it is contingent on his buyer's house selling and the people buying THEIR house are jerking them around. It is a long ugly story but the other buyer is a doctor and he is being a REAL jerk. The buyers of OUR client's home are in their 80's trying to sell their ranch that they can NO longer take care of and really NEED to get rid of and this doctor is being a real ***! He knows that he can take his time and is not only making THOSE people's lives hell but our client's as well. Then we have ANOTHER deal up in Truckee where the client has been wishy washy for days and the builder has spent thousands trying to put this custom home together and he keeps threatening to walk and he calls my mom and yells at her about every 3 days and finally my mom told him LOOK do you want to by this house or not! I don't hear her lose her temper very often but she had HAD it! So pretty much every deal she has is a nightmare and like I said she is about to leave town so I am NOT looking forward to all this mess she is going to leave me with LOL.

But the one bright spot was we went out on our lunch our to develop my pics from thanksgiving and the cvs that we went to had a bunch of zhu zhu pets. For those of you who know about them that was a MAJOR find!! I picked up two for the girls plus two beds and all at the normal price. I was pretty excited. I only wish I knew had to sell stuff on ebay cuz I prob could have bought a few extra but I have never sold anything on ebay.

But anyway I am just glad that today is over with. Finally got everything resolved with the girls teachers as well so hopefully it all works out! WHEW!

Glad to hear all the vegas gals had fun! Can't wait to see pics!!! :)

I added some pics to fb as well from our weekend.

Have a good evening and TTYL!

I haven't made any of the recipes, although I've been tempted to try, especially from the Plum Pudding Murder book. It's not due back to the library until next week so I just might have to copy some of them. Did you see this on her website (murdershebaked.com)?
Breaking news -- Jo will be writing a cookbook with ALL of Hannah's published recipes, the ones on this list, plus a generous sprinkling of new never-before-published recipes. Kensington plans to release it in October of 2011, just in time for holiday baking and gift-giving.
2011!!?? I hope it comes out sooner than that!!

I can't wait to read that one! I saw the add for the cook book...I am already planning on getting it for my mom that christmas...that way I can borrow it! If you ever do make any of the recipes let me know! I would love to know what you thought!

Oh, but something did make me all warm & fuzzy.

Has anyone seen the Disneyland holiday commercial with the "It's a Small World" song in it??

Well on Saturday night, my DS & I were watching TV with the baby. She had fallen asleep, but when that commercial come on she popped up & started smiling and swaying to the song. Then she grabbed my purse & kept saying "bye, bye" & walked towards the door. She wanted to go to Disneyland .

LOL! I can just picture it! How adorable!

Kelly, if there is any way for you to get more ZhuZhu's, I would gladly pay you for whatever you could get me, plus a finder's fee! I have been trying for a while with no luck whatsoever...

Jane I can try and go back to the store but I have a feeling they will be gone. They only had a few and the word was they would be gone by tonight. I will be happy to try though! :)

Me: The Black Pearl
Why: Because I'm cursed!

Okay, so here's my day.

Woke up, everything is hunky dory. I'm thinking, "Hey, this is going to be a pretty good day. I finished my big assignment last night, I have a couple of easy things to do for class today but nothing too major, so I should be able to relax a little.....maybe catch up on laundry......maybe do some Cyber Monday shopping since I haven't had time to shop and we could use any savings we can get."

Decided around 1:00pm to check into my class and do my tasks for the day. What do I see? One of my team mates posted that she won't be able to do her work today. What was her work you ask? She was supposed to put our entire PowerPoint presentation together....due TODAY! Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but a few days before, when she signed up to put our PowerPoint slide presentation together, she specified that she just wanted us to post our information to go on the slides......she didn't want us to create any slides ourselves.....she would take care of creating all the slides herself. So her last minute crap out created a major problem.

Did anyone else on the team step up to put our presentation together at the last minute? Uhhhhh, that would be a no. So all afternoon, I built a PowerPoint Presentation practically from scratch.

Then, around 4:00 pm this afternoon, the same gal posted that she is withdrawing from the class. That leaves us with only three people on our team to do the work meant for five.

The only funny thing here.....since our ladies trip theme this year is Pirate Princess (right?), it's fitting that I am the cursed Black Pearl of the group. Maybe I should get a shirt that says that and wear it during our trip - LOL. :goodvibes

Good thing no one is flying with me this year, because you just never know.

It's Monday, and I'm already drinking. I love you Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. :lovestruc

Oh Capri! I'm so sorry! Things have got to start looking up for you.

You can wear whatever you want, as long as your coming! I'm sorry everything has been so crappy for you lately:hug:

Capri  At least it is the last day of November...maybe December will be a better month for you!

I am working a double today...my mom is home sick, my dh is home sick...I am hoping the kids are ok...Only 3 hours 45 minutes to go! DH says my package for the stocking exchange came in the mail today but that there is no return address except for maybe a city and state. Can't wait to see whats in it!

Hope you all are well or at least getting better!

Special hugs for Deb

Hello WendyPooh - glad to see you posting!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to meet you.

I think a lot of us have had a crappy year in one way or another. Some got more than their share of crap. Sheesh. Anyway, I hope all of us divas have a much better 2010. :wizard: My big blow this year is that DH was diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer in July. He is doing well - right now he is smack dab in the middle of chemo and radiation. I don't talk about it much cause it's a private battle and he really is fighting the fight, but it sure sucks the life out of an otherwise good year. And it has been really hard on our Breezy girl. But we remain positive and honestly think he will beat it in 2010, so hear hear to the new year. Right?

I had a much needed fun trip to Vegas. I just love Doris, Cheryl, Marcie and Beth -they are the best!:dance3: All the shows (except TPIR) and meals were a big hit and I even won overall gambling a net profit of $22 - that's a first.;)

Anyway, I can't believe tomorrow is December 1st and Christmas is just around the corner. I am excited for our Feb trip. Have a good week everyone.:)

Ohhhhh Linda, sweety, I'm so sorry! Makes my horrible year seem like a cake walk compared to what you and Breezy and your hubby are going through. You and Breezy are just such special people and I wish I could just stomp out cancer for good! I HATE cancer! Oh man, I wish there was something I could do. Well, one thing I can do is keep all of you in my prayers to beat this!

I am always there for you and Breezy. You know that.

I know we lost our Dawn because of complications of H1N1 combined with her asthma and pneumonia:sad1:. I just wanted to post this because of the severity of the H1N1 flu in itself and I want everyone to take extra extra precaution.

Here's the article from AOL

(Nov. 30) -- When Andrea Samples' 15-year-old daughter, Jessica, got sick with the swine flu in late September, her instinct was to have doctors check the girl -- three days in a row.
According to a report on CNN, though Jessica was strong and healthy, Samples was uneasy with her daughter's symptoms, which included a bad cough on the second day of her flu and numbness in her hands and feet by the third day.
"From 0 to 60 in 10 seconds, that's how fast it went down," Samples told CNN of her daughter's condition

Though doctors sent Jessica home from her first two visits, she was admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, on her third. The infection had spread to her heart, and it could no longer beat on its own, said Linda Thompson, one of her doctors. Jessica almost died three times.
Jessica is up and around again after a recovery that included two weeks in intensive care. What if Samples had delayed getting her daughter to the hospital, even by half a day? "I don't think we would have pulled her through," Thompson told CNN.
