I just got hired on for a part time position at Michael's. I tried to go back into full time office work, and I just couldn't do it. Way too much after being off for a year and a half.

So starting Monday I am working at Michael's from Monday - Friday from 5am-10:30am stocking shelves. I know it doesn't sound that interesting, but I am actually liking the idea. I used to do the 5am shift at McDonald's and I really liked it because I had the rest of the day to do whatever. Now my Mom gets to see Seth still for a few hours a day, and I still get my afternoons with him. It's not as much money as I'd be making in the office, but I am hopefully still going to be able to work enough to be able to make this Diva's trip. I so hope so anyway!

Also another bonus is, I get discounts on craft stuff and also get to take the classes for free! :yay:

I just looked at MouseWait and the DL ride times do not look too bad...except for Matterhorn at a 90 minute wait. Ick!
I read on one of the threads here, that for DCA Mousewait only went up to 135 min. for some reason, when in fact the line for RSR was over 5 hours. I saw the pics and I believe it! Yikes!!

Only 3 hours until I hit my location for the evening! I'm starting to get ready and I thiiiiiiiink I'm gonna get there early. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.
Probably a good idea. :rotfl2:

I know the crowds are going to be insane when we're there, but I intent to enjoy myself no matter what.
That's a good attitude! :wizard:

Ugh, hate when it's a BIG -we NEED it ALL- right NOW shopping trip. Multiplied by everyone home for summer and add in teenagers (teenage boys especially) --- there goes the bank account until next pay day.. YUCK!
I knew you'd feel my pain. :sad2:

I've been making my own laundry detergent lately so when I'm almost out I just go get more soap to make it. :)
I have a recipe for that. The one Callie posted on Facebook. I keep meaning to try it. I really should.

The spouse is gone until late Sunday afternoon. Ahhhhhh..... quiet house..... ahhhhhhh..... I can eat whatever I want for dinner, WHENEVER I want...... aaaahhhhhhh! LOL
You crack me up, Lisa. Enjoy your "ahhhhhh" time. :goodvibes

Not looking forward to the teen years!
Yep, not only do their stomachs get bigger, their mouths get sassier! ;)

Congrats on the new job! And that's cool about the discounts and free classes. :)

Don't forget, today is National Flip Flop Day!

If you have a Tropical Smoothie near you, between 2 and 7 they are giving away free smoothies to anyone in flip flops!

We have one just down the street, so before I go on my massive grocery shopping spree, Ruben and I are taking the kids to get our free smoothies. (my daughter Noelle is there all the time anyway, she's hooked on those things, lol)

I thought everyday was flip flop day! :rotfl2:

Congrats!
Thanks!
I hate shopping trips like that too, it happens occasionally tho. I try not to run out of stuff like that tho. I've been making my own laundry detergent lately so when I'm almost out I just go get more soap to make it. :) I think I'm going to try to make my own softener too, I just have to find a recipe for it. :)
Does it work well and smell nice? That is my worry - I am so used to Tide.
Congrats! That's great! I need to get on some sort of program soon.
Thanks!

I think I just threw up a little....I honestly do not think I will ever wait that long for a ride. If it is still that bad - I will wait until a trip later this year or next to ride RSR. We have our EMH to use on our trip so hopefully it will not be to bad when we arrive for that.

Good almost afternoon, ladies! And, Happy Saturday.

Was the DIS down last night? I tried to get on, but couldn't. Oh well, I see I didn't miss a lot of posts. lol Unless it was in fact down and no one else could get on either. :confused3

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend! Those of you celebrating Father's Day tomorrow, either with your own dads, or your husbands, or some other family, enjoy the day! :cool1:

We'll celebrate in a simple way. A combo of store bought and hand made gifts. A big family breakfast. And I'll make Ruben's favorite dessert, a pineapple upside down cake. :)

TTYL!!

Happy Saturday, Divas! Stayed up too late last night and slept in too long this morning. LOL It's going to be 105 here today and when I got up at 8:30 it was 76 in the house (with hubby gone, I turn the alarm on at night which means no windows in the vented position) and when I went to open the doors and windows this morning, it was already warmer outside than inside. YUCK. My A/C kicked on around 11. Bleh, bleh, bleh. Glad I made a big pitcher of iced tea "concentrate" yesterday! Tomorrow marks 1 month to Convention. My to-do list is not getting any shorter. Back to the craft cave with me! I'll check in again tonight!

105?! We have 108 here in Roseville....yuck! Although, I do not think you can feel the difference of 3 degrees.

Tahoe and I took our dog over to Pet-a-Palooza this morning and by 11:30 we were dying and headed home. We did win premiere passes to see Brave on Tuesday from 100.5 :) We had planned on watching this in DTD the Saturday we have blockout, but I guess we can save the money and do something else now.

I have started packing and we have everything we need for our trip minus fresh fruit and veggies. Next Saturday I will pick those up at the farmer's market. Disneyland does not look too bad today; only 70% on MW. I wonder if that is because there are blockouts today or maybe everyone is tired from yesterday :confused3

Hello ladies. I'm here now for my one day trip with my BFF and her twin 5 1/2 yr old boys. Went straight to RSR FP line a little after park opening. By the time we got to the FP machine, return time was 3:50! Did Mater - 25 min wait and then Luigi - almost 2 hours!! Decide to go to DL - really not bad for a Sat in June. Did buzz and Star tours. My friends did Nemo and I went and did both Indy and Matterhorn single rider. Not a fan of the new sleds - hard to get in and out of them. They remind me of the Space Mt ones at WDW. Did GRR, at hotel for a break and then are packing up and going into DCA to use our FP for RDR

Talked to a CM at Luigis and he said RSR was up to 7 hour wait yesterday!!:scared1: No way I would wait that long. But BV and Carsland looke awesome!!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

IN. SANE. I thought an almost 2 hour wait for Toy Story was bad! :scared1:

Haha I top out at 20 minutes :lmao: Bridget- what was your wait time for the FP?

7 hours???? That's just crazy. That's almost a whole park day. I think at the very most I would wait an hour and a half. But that's only if it's my only chance, and I still have lots of time to do other things. I hope it's died down lots by the time the Diva trip comes around.

Afternoon all. I didn't read back but sort of scanned because my computer got a virus and I completely lost it and had to buy a new one so I was down since Wed night. So 250 to geek squad and 700 for a new computer later I'm back. UGH!

We had an exciting week though before that hit the fan. Shelby had her 5th grade graduation and we had some fun times during the week but as I said I spent the last two days dealing with the computer stuff and then we had a swim meet in Davis this morning. LUCKILY they had ANOTHER meet later in the day (them not us) so we finished by noon which was a god send. We came home and just crashed!

Tomorrow we are going to the Luis Palau festival at Cal Expo for father's day and are really excited. Although I am nervous about the heat but hopefully it will be fun.

Laurie - I saw about Mia and I know that it will be GREAT for all involved. She is lucky to have you guys!!

We leave 1 week from tomorrow for our trip and I am nervous but just praying that using our MM at DCA will help to get Carsland out of the way and then we can focus on other parts of the park while the masses decend. We are also going on a Wed so not sure if that will make any difference but I am still excited to see it!

Hope everyone has a good rest of your weekend!

I am hoping to go tomorrow too! We have my grandpa's memorial service from 2-5ish. I am not sure if we will make it in time for the kids stuff. If it doesn't look like it then I am staying home.

We have 2 weeks until our trip and I'm starting to get stupid. I keep looking at the entertainment schedule and restaurant menus and making tentative plans, then changing my mind. All I know for sure right now is that we're going to the Golden Horseshoe for lunch on Monday during the Laughing Stock show, then to see Billy Hill at 3. I shouldn't plan anything else.

Haha I top out at 20 minutes :lmao: Bridget- what was your wait time for the FP?

We went back at 4:30 and the FP wait was about 30 min, Single rider was 45 min and stand by was 3 hours. The ride is awesome!! It is going to be long wait for the Rides all summer. We figured the best way for the future is get FP for RSR, go to Luigis (second longest line) and then Mater (never seemed longer than 30-40 minutes)

Can you imagine waiting all that time then having it break down.!

I think they would have a riot on their hands!!
