So I can't post this on Facebook, since some of my friends are caseworkers with Children's Services......but I just got a call regarding Addy's little half-sister. We knew that Addy's bio-mom had fallen off the wagon, but last I knew, she had finished re-hab & started working on getting her GED. Well I guess she's not doing any of the required classes and such set up for her, she's dropped out of school and sounds like is still using. Since we have her other child, we are being asked if we want to take guardianship of Mia. We wouldn't be able to adopt her since she is half native American. The tribes won't allow a child to be adopted. After a million questions about guardianship......the real only differences would be a different last name from ours and we'd have to submit a letter to the courts once a year to give an update on her life.

So within the next month or so, we possibly could be coming parents (again) to our 8th child!! Mia is 4 (turned so in January) and she looks like Addy. I know Addy will be thrilled to have her sister with her. She asks about her all the time.

WOW......a 4yr old, twin 5 yr olds, 6yr old & 11 yr old......running loose in WDW this December.....that should be interesting!!

Wow. Sounds like Mia is in need of the stable family/environment that you all can provide her.

You all will have a great time at WDW.

PS

Whatever shirts are decided on I'm fine. :)

:rotfl: I bet it will be crazy, wild, pull your hair out and deliriously happy times :goodvibes

It's frightening just thinking about it!! But yes, it should be filled with lots of happy times too!! :goodvibes

Just sad because mom was clean the whole pregnancy & then another 3 1/2yrs before hanging with the old crowd & starting up again. After losing Addy, you would think she would remember that pain and walk away. So sad to see her throw it all away again. Mia's been in 2 different foster homes in the short time in care.....so hopefully she'll get to move in here soon.

Thanx Steph!!

You've already dealt with more than I can ever imagine going through, it will be a piece of cake for you! It's really amazing what you're doing for Addy and her little sister!

Congrats to Jen and Capri for figuring out our theme for this year!!!!
Woo Hoo!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

So, now that you all know the theme for this year's hunt, I would now like to share with you my thoughts on the new tee for Friday.

In my mind, I am thinking of a shirt in sky blue to start with.
I would like to incorporate a tee with the Carsland theme of Route 66.
I would like to have a car cruisin on the street with a Diva wearing mouse ears sitting in it.
For the bling, it would be cool to use road and neon signs to start with.
Tee pees, the Cadillac Ridge, and so on on the design

I also want to try and make it look retro. LOL.... you know me and retro. But it is always in, and it goes perfectly with the theme for this year.

I hope this all sounds good to you. :goodvibes

Just a heads up. It might take a while to get this done. My son is extremely busy right now. As soon as we can get some what of a rough draft done, it will be shared. :thumbsup2

PS- I also thought it would be nice to have a tee done for DCA, since we haven't had one themed to it yet.

Sounds like a great design. Can't wait to see it.

Mel, I love the idea of a retro-ish, Route 66, classic car themed shirt with blinged out neon signs! Sounds awesome!! And very unlike anything we've done thus far.

Question: Will it be hard to make a "Diva" actually in the car? I know your son is a stickler for detail, and he always does great work. I just wasn't sure how the person would look? Is it going to be cartoon-ish? Or like a real person?

OKay, shall we be done with the t-shirts now??? PLEASE?

Wednesday: Prior trip group shirt
Thursday: Lime Green
Friday: New group tee
Saturday: Favorite Disney shirt
Sunday: Red shirt

Can this just be it? Once and for all? I know it's not perfect, and I'm sorry that we can't please each and every one of the 58 or so ladies attending, but I think it's a fair compromise. And after all, when you sign up to travel on a group trip, there simply has to be some give and take. :flower3:

I am all for the list you put up. Red seems like a great one as I think of Mickey and Minnie red. Plus the new shirt sounds like it will be sky blue with cars on on it so no need for another blue.

Good morning ladies! I slept late this morning, not a good thing. But when I got up I got dressed and went for a run! My first training run for the Tinkerbell 1/2 (if I get to run it, it looks like it's filling up fast and I can't afford to register until next month) went well, 2 miles in 30 minutes. I'll run for 30 minutes Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until the end of next week, then I'll add 15 minutes each week until I'm up to 2.5 hours. Monday Wednesday and Friday are strength training days at the gym and Sunday is for ice cream.

By the time this trip rolls around my feet will be so toughened up I'll be able to walk around Disney and DCA for days at a time! This was just a good morning, not gonna discuss t-shirt colors... and I'm gone!:rolleyes1

Wow that is great. I wish I could run. I am a great walker and do up to 3-5 miles most nights. Running just kills my knees.
I bet you could request the Tshirt for the last day to be camo. :thumbsup2

I am sorry the mom wasn't able to get her life in order. I am sure this is the best thing for Mia. She will now have a nice big family to love on her.
Oh and if you need a nanny for the trip, you can take me :cheer2:

Next Friday I will be at Disney/Cal advent. The whole family is going too. I so can't wait to take the grand kids.
Oh and I may have to borrow my granddaughters tiara. I gave her mine and well I thought I should be Queen by now.princess:

Ooh! Now there's an idea! I actually really like blue camo designs (not the official style), but I don't own an outerwear in that style. I could do it if bras only were acceptable...

Thanx Angie!!

:rotfl: I wish I could afford a nanny!!! If I hit the lottery, I'll give you a call!! ;)

I might draw the line at naked. Things ahh umm don't stay UP where they should be without some major support. :rolleyes1
Amen to that! :rotfl2:

Have fun with the family! Sounds like it's going to be a blast. :wizard:

I am with Beth - I will be checking MouseWait all day tomorrow to jaw-drop at the wait times.

I'll be there on the 1st through 5th. Touringplans says both parks are 10s every day we're there. It's gonna be an experience for sure.

Good morning, ladies. TGIF! Also, happy official Carsland opening day. All the Divas who are going to be hanging out there today, and over the weekend, have fun! And, for our resident Disney cast members, Jessica and Vanessa, good luck! :wizard:

You are a brave, brave soul! ::yes::

Touring Plans is showing 10's though all of July. I hope they are wrong...

This morning I hit 20lbs lost!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2:
I am super excited, can you tell?! I want to drop another 12 in the next month before my birthday (that is going to be difficult with our vacation in there.) Total, I have 32 more lbs to go to reach my goal weight. My trainer said that will all of my muscle I most likely will not get much lower than that. Here is to hoping and training hard and eating right the next two months or so! :cloud9:

To all of our Daring Divas on the daunting day of Carlsland....have fun!!! Stay patient and take lots of photos :)

YAY CL is open!!!! I wish I could have been there but at the same time I'm glad I'm not. I'll wait 3 weeks for my trip with Cassidy. :) We are both excited about that, it will be fun, crowded yes, but fun!
So I'm trying to plan a trip with friends to go to Reno next weekend, I've mentioned it here a few times. It's turning into a huge mess of drama and it's getting on my nerves. LOL There are misunderstanding galore and it feels like I'm in the middle. I'm a bit annoyed. But I'm still planning on going! We were able to get a cheap hotel ($117 plus taxes, split between 4 people is super cheap!) and the band we are going to see is supposed to be performing for free! YAY!! I think we will go shopping (but we probably won't buy anything, unless I find myself some red or black boots that I simply MUST have lol) but other than the concerts we don't have much planned. I'm going out tonight, just to dance but also to scope it out. I think I've said this before but I was offered the opportunity to teach on the occasional Friday and Saturday night so I want to go and see what the crowd looks like to decide if I want to do it on a Friday night.
Otherwise no plans for me, I did laundry last night so my clothes are clean, went to the Farmers Market last night so we have fresh fruits and veggies, and I painted my toenails last night. I think I might paint my fingernails when I get home tonight, I'm loving that new metallic nail polish and I have 4 colors at home to play with! :)

So, I have spent the morning sorting through the food ads, and making up grocery/household supply lists. We sort of ran out of everything at once. Trash bags, laundry supplies, soap, and our fridge and cabinets are bare. That's what happens in summer with the kids home all day!
When I added it all up.... OMG! :scared1: :faint: Now, I wish I hadn't added it all together.

Congrats on the loss! That's fantastic!

I saw some pics on Mousewait from those camped out. Yikes! And Mary Jo posted some of the line to get into DCA on Facebook. I am glad I'm not there. I get cranky in crowds. Add in temps around 80, and there is no way! LOL But, I am having fun keeping up with all the excitement.

ETA: I saw someone post that fastpasses for Radiator Springs Racers ran out in 1 hour today.

You guys are going to have a great time!! :cool1: Have fun in Reno....despite the drama. lol

:scared: Sheesh! That is crazy! I am frightened for our trip in just 9 days.

I just looked at MouseWait and the DL ride times do not look too bad...except for Matterhorn at a 90 minute wait. Ick!

I was expecting Matterhorn to be crazy since it's been closed for so long. I can't wait to ride it myself. Hopefully after the first week things will die down a bit. I know the crowds are going to be insane when we're there, but I intent to enjoy myself no matter what.

None of what I'm hearing is surprising me in the least, lol. Some friends camped out last night and I wanted to join them so badly but I was afraid I'd get stuck and not be able to get home in time to get ready for work so I've just been following along on Instagram, Facebook, etc. Only 3 hours until I hit my location for the evening! I'm starting to get ready and I thiiiiiiiink I'm gonna get there early. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

Congrats!

Ugh, hate when it's a BIG -we NEED it ALL- right NOW shopping trip. Multiplied by everyone home for summer and add in teenagers (teenage boys especially) --- there goes the bank account until next pay day.. YUCK!

Eloy looked at my oddly when I stock piled a ton of laundry detergent in the spring. He is impressed, we don't need to make any grocery trips except for produce. Now he understands my evil plan! Muhahahaha! We can stay home when it's 85 degrees and 50% humidity. :cool1:

Success = 6 boxes of clearanced and double couponed laundry detergent at a time! ;)

I know Cass and I will have a blast, no matter the crowd levels! LOL I've got a couple of fun things planned for her as surprises, I'd like to plan 1 more but can't decide between the F! dessert seating or the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. I have Carthay booked and 1 more OMG type of thing, but I'm having problems choosing between those 2. I think I might just tell her to pick which one she wants and go from there. :) I've asked her to draw her own picture of Constance (from the HM, HM is her FAVORITE ride ever) and I think I'll see if I can get transfers so I can iron it onto a sweatshirt or tank top. Leaning towards sweatshirt just because I think that would look awesome!

I hate shopping trips like that too, it happens occasionally tho. I try not to run out of stuff like that tho. I've been making my own laundry detergent lately so when I'm almost out I just go get more soap to make it. :) I think I'm going to try to make my own softener too, I just have to find a recipe for it. :)

Oh and Reno, ya, I'll definitely have fun, regardless of the drama! LOL If it gets too drama heavy I'll go off on my own! LMAO!!!

All caught up! Hooray! Been checking out the pics from DCA since last night on MouseWait and FB. Wow. Just WOW. LOL

The spouse is gone until late Sunday afternoon. Ahhhhhh..... quiet house..... ahhhhhhh..... I can eat whatever I want for dinner, WHENEVER I want...... aaaahhhhhhh! LOL

So now I'm off to the grocery store to pick up a few things that Mr Wonderful won't/shouldn't eat for my "crafty weekend". Going to get caught up on about a month of DVRd Food Network stuff too.

I just had to do basically the same thing. Although I am only feeding a hubby and a one year old, so it's not so bad. Not looking forward to the teen years!
