I have spent the majority of my weekend sleeping, eating, and planning my trip. I did listen to my lecture for comm law this week since I have a quiz tomorrow.

Good morning, ladies!!

Well, not sure "good" is accurate over here. Due to the time change, no one wanted to get up this morning. It was still so dark out! The older kids school bus was very late. They thought for a minute there they'd get to stay home!
And I do have one kid home, Lindsey, sick with a fever and stomach bug.
:sad2:
Not the best way to start off this week. I hope everyone else is having a better start to their day!

Not too sure about this flash mob idea.... :rolleyes1 LOL! :rotfl:
I do know that Cynthia would be another contender, along with Rochelle. That girl can dance!
Oh, come on. We'll get a couple glasses of wine in you and you'll be good to go! ;)

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. We have a new gluten free bakery in town. My hubbie is Celiac, so this is a god send for him. We went today and all their stuff is vegan and gluten free. It was actually quite good for not having any dairy or flour in it. :thumbsup2 I know, I should have taken my camera and posted some food shots. Next time...
That sounds nice. I imagine in some places it's hard to find gluten free and vegan items that are still tasty.

I have been having a lazy Sunday. My hubby, son (9 months) and I have been laying around watching Disney movies all day. We've watched Mulan, Lady and the Tramp (in which my son thought the Tramp was the funniest thing in the world), Dumbo and now Tangled. It's' been a good day. :goodvibes
Aww, how fun. I love Mulan and Tangled, but I've never seen Lady and the Tramp or Dumbo. I should watch them.

Thanks, but the trip is next weekend - I never updated my countdown when we had the date change :upsidedow Next weekend is Deaf Entertainers weekend - Marlee Matlin, Matt "The Hammer" Hamill (Deaf MMA fighter), the cast from Switched at Birth, and many other Deaf performers will all be there. We are so excited! They just released the designs for the special ASL/Disney merchandise they will be selling next weekend. They are so cute! You can see them on the Disney blog. Rain is predicted for next weekend and I am hoping the storm stays on course to drive away the crowds.

DId anyone do anything fun this weekend?popcorn::
That sounds like it's going to be a great weekend. I did see some of the merchandise and it is cute!! Hopefully the rain keeps away the crowds. It's actually my favorite weather to have at DL for that very reason.

My weekend was most uneventful. Despite my best intentions to go out and have some fun, I was just not feeling it. We did go to the park on Saturday, but Sunday was a bust. Just hung out at home.

My weekend was productive. My son had his last on road driving lesson in preparation for the big driving test on Wednesday!! I will have a teenage boy driving soon! :scared1:
My son, Adam, is bugging me to sign him up for his on road lessons. I keep putting it off. :rolleyes1 I am just not ready for that yet. :sad2:

I have spent the majority of my weekend sleeping, eating, and planning my trip.

Well, that's not a bad way to pass the time. Especially when a trip to WDW involves so much planning!! :wizard:

I don't have anything planned either, I love it!
I'm planning my WDW trip so I stayed up super late to book my ADRs. Sadly I couldn't get Ohana :sad2:

I still have one TS credit so I'm trying to find somewhere to use it.

Later on I'll be reading the rest of the Hunger Games :thumbsup2

Aww, bummer about Ohana. What other ADRs did you make? Did you get Prime Time?

I am trying to read MockingJay. The other books I read in no time. This one, it's not catching my attention at all.

I really liked the first book, the 2nd one was OK but the 3rd I couldn't get in to either. I pretty much just skimmed through it.

I'm almost done with Uglies right now and I really like it. It's part of a series as well.

How have I missed it? I haven't, but retaining info is another story. Remember, blonde moments and four kids who leave me dazed and confused most of the time. It's a miracle I remember to put on pants before I leave the house. ;)

Good point......LOL

Can we do the flash mob freeze someplace where it will totally mess everyone up...like halfway down the exit tunnel at Indy? There's enough room for all of us, we're sorta out of the way of prying CM eyes, yet it would really freak people out that walk down that way to see 60 women frozen in place.:rotfl2:

I can zumba, does that count as dancing?:rotfl2:

Zumba counts as dancing! :) I would die to do it in the Indy exit.....OMG that would be hilarious!!!!!!

We could do a combo flash/freeze mob....some of us freeze, some of do a dance together. :)

I'm freaking out a little bit, but it also feels a little disjointed. As of right now I have all of this upcoming week off (minus tomorrow) and then my last two days are next Sunday and Tuesday. I am so not prepared to leave just yet. There are still so many people to say goodbye to. Heck, there are quite a few people I haven't even told in person yet because I just haven't seen them! I'm kind of running out of time and I'm getting a little emotional at work these days.

All of my post-HS life has been at this store. I'll feel very weird without it!

What else feels weird....I'll be meeting you for the first time IRL in DL, yet we've lived only about an hour apart for how many years? LOL (assuming of course we will meet in DL sometime ;) )

I know what you mean. For the kids' birthdays I always cook whatever special dinner they want with a special cake. One year Hunter (then 7yo) wanted fish for dinner. The catch...fish with the head still on :scared1::scared1:. That was the worst!!! Never again.

Oh ew....there is no way.......DBF likes to fish, I've always told him he has to clean and cook whatever he expects to eat. LOL I told his Grandma I wouldn't take some fish they had caught because I won't cook it and neither would Micah, she said "but he likes fish" and I said "I don't cook it" and she just kept saying "he likes it, you won't cook it for him?" lol I think I really upset her.....LOL I will eat fish (certain fish) but I don't cook it......

So.....Cassidy turns 16 in July, I'm considering a Mother/Daughter trip to DL just her and I to celebrate her 16th birthday. I'm thinking of seeing if we can stay on-site from the 6th-9th.....her birthday falls right in there.....what do you gals think?

Agree. While, I like the additional daylight (notice I didn't say sunlight because we don't have any of that up here ;)) lack of sleep leaves me more :upsidedow than I usually am ;)

Hi There! We haven't met. I am also from the Seattle area. Wondering if you would share where the bakery is. My bff is celiac as is her 8 year old. They love to find new, good gluten free foods.

Hey Cristabel! Congratulations on your free dining trip. I would keep trying for Ohana's if you really want it. It appears they don't always load those reservations into the system at the 180 day mark. We wanted that one and had to just keep checking and eventually they showed up. Same with Hoop De Doo Review and Fantasmic Dining. Something to do with the venues I think.
My family will be there until Aug 27th, so we'll just miss you and free dining. But we are staying DVC this trip so are adding the dining plan for part of our stay. I must say it feels really excessive!

Well...that is all I can remember that I wanted to say other than a big hello to everyone. It is pouring down rain here and blowing like crazy. I have been freezing and am 100% jealous of my dear husband who is headed to Vegas for a march madness weekend with the boys. Lucky him!

Thank you ladies! So wonderful to be part of a group that gives so much of themselves to their friends, families and others in need.

And not to get sappy, but can I just say how happy I am that you are back from you sojourn overseas? We missed you!

Ok ladies, so I guess we should do a flash mob next year! Would it be best to do it on a day we all have matching t-shirts?

As for me, three days until I leave for Oahu! Eeek! I am NOT ready. And of course now the clients are coming out of the woodwork . . . .

Your upcoming weekend sounds soo great. So do you teach the deaf? I think I'd like to learn. I love to watch some of our church goers *sing* with their hands. It's literally poetry in motion!!

My family and I went to the Rock and Worship Roadshow in Sacramento over the weekend. It was a blast and it was even more special because it was a concert that my dh and I could share with the *whole* family. We didn't get home until midnight and with the time change and all....needless to say we were late for church!:rotfl:

Ah... well have fun next weekend! I saw photos of the special merchandise - really cute!

My weekend was productive. My son had his last on road driving lesson in preparation for the big driving test on Wednesday!! I will have a teenage boy driving soon! :scared1:

Spent most of today reviewing scholarship applications. I am on the school district foundation board and we award some scholarships to our graduating seniors. Wow - it was hard to choose! Each one was a worthy applicant! But I am very happy with my choice - just wish we could help them all!

I am dreading the day when Forrest asks to get his permit. I'm fine teaching him his grammar, biology, heck even his algebra but not driving:scared1: Dad is going to have to take that one.:lmao: I guess one good thing with having an extra driver in the house would be to get that forgotten gallon of milk:thumbsup2

I have spent the majority of my weekend sleeping, eating, and planning my trip. I did listen to my lecture for comm law this week since I have a quiz tomorrow.

OOOOOhhhh that sounds soo nice. Hope you do well on your quiz.

I'll be freeze if you gals be flash!!!

So, you feel my pain? I think that's why I can't even eat fish let alone cook it:lmao:

I would love to take Erin to DL on her sweet sixteen. Just 8 more years to go:). I say go for it and def. stay on site. What a special occasion.

Hi Tracey! It's been so long since I've talked to you. Glad to hear you also have WDW trip in the works.

OOOOOhhhh that sounds soo nice. Hope you do well on your quiz.

Thanks! Class was actually canceled and I didn't know until I got to campus. :headache:

I'm almost done with Uglies right now and I really like it. It's part of a series as well.
Oooh, I'll have to check that out. Once we are done with Mockingjay, if I can ever get into it, we'll be looking for something else to start on.

Yes! Do it. If Cassidy is into Disney, then that's a perfect idea. Noelle turns 16 in November this year, and I was toying with going on a mother/daughter trip somewhere. The problem is, I'm not so sure she's into Disney enough to justify the expense. :confused3 I can't think where to take her...

Hi, Tracey! Good to see you here! How are your WDW trip plans coming? Tell me everything! I need to live vicariously through you. lol

Bummer you couldn't sneak along and come visit me here! Ditch the hubby with the boys while we go have some fun. ;)

Ok ladies, so I guess we should do a flash mob next year! Would it be best to do it on a day we all have matching t-shirts?
Yes! Matching shirts is a must, I think. That way it's more uniform.

Have fun in Oahu. Who are you going with? Take lots of pics!

Your upcoming weekend sounds soo great. So do you teach the deaf? I think I'd like to learn. I love to watch some of our church goers *sing* with their hands. It's literally poetry in motion!!
It is! In college, there was a deaf girl in my class, and she had a sign language interpreter with her. I often found myself not paying attention to the teacher because I was so focused on the signing! It's really neat. ::yes::

Thanks! Class was actually canceled and I didn't know until I got to campus. :headache:
Grr. How frustrating.

I do not like daylight savings time. Have a good Sunday. That is all. :teeth:

Try waking up an hour early so you can do MouseAdventure!! It was very difficult, especially after meeting up with some of the other ladies the night before for dinner and having to leave before we wanted to because we needed to get our rest!!

We saw signs over the weekend for the event, looked very cool!! And as for the weekend plans... MouseAdventure!! And sleep afterwards!!

Hope all the Divas that played MouseAdventure had fun! Let us know how you all did!

Hopefully they post all of the scores this week. We found out who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (not us) but they won't post any actual answers until after the Day at the Park event in 2 weeks. As soon as we know what place we got, we'll definitely let you all know. We feel like we did good, with just over 1000 points (out of 1776), but the 3 highest were 1200-1300, so who knows?? It was a higher scoring event than normal, and I have some good ideas for our Scavvie Hunt next year... :rolleyes1 Nothing difficult, just fun!

I'll be freeze if you gals be flash!!!:thumbsup2

I totally feel your pain.....I just am not a big of fish that I have too see all of. lol The Thai place by us has fish on their menu, it's a whole fish, head and all, Micah wants to order and I refuse, it just grosses me out.......LOL

I'm really leaning towards doing it, then again with DD12 on her 16th.....I think it could be tons of fun to do with both of them!

Yes! Do it. If Cassidy is into Disney, then that's a perfect idea. Noelle turns 16 in November this year, and I was toying with going on a mother/daughter trip somewhere. The problem is, I'm not so sure she's into Disney enough to justify the expense. :confused3 I can't think where to take her...

Cassidy is totally into Disney, I think she would LOVE it!! :) In fact she's so into Disney that she's planning her trip to DLRP.....LOL I think she would also love that it was just the 2 of us. :) :goodvibes

Matching shirts are absolutely a must! :thumbsup2

Ok, so it's 6:30 and I'm finally able to leave work, I have to teach tonight so I'll have about an hour before I have to leave. I also have to go get Cass from school so more like 30 minutes, glad I'm teaching something I'm familiar with! LOL I'll be eating out tonight too.......

Tracey - Another NW gal! Nice to meet you :) Yeh! The bakery is called The Flying Apron. There is one in Seattle and one in Redmond. I am not sure where the Seattle branch is but the one in Redmond is right across the street from Mills Music about two blocks from RTC

Ah... well have fun next weekend! I saw photos of the special merchandise - really cute!

Charmama~ Sorry, I missed your name :upsidedow I teach ASL to hearing high school student for their foreign language credits. I am taking 8 of my 10 ASL 3 students and 2 of my 15 ASL 2 students down to the land. It looks like pouring rain here in Sac when we leave Friday....rain+10 teenagers+Disneyland anticpation=:scared1:

I just read Uglies and am halfway through Pretties. The setting is very similar to Hunger Games - post government take-over of the world, people placed into walled cities. The premise behind this series is that people like us "Rusties", destroyed the world because of predjudices based on appearances. The author creates a world where everyone is ugly (normal to us) and undergoes plastic surgery at age 16 to become pretty. Since everyone is equally good-looking, there should be peace...until the main character turns 16. It is not as great as HG, but is still a pretty decent and quick read.

Shark week must be about to premere because I am craving chocolate ice cream something terrible!

I actually thought of you guys! I would've been tempted to hit the snooze button a couple times. :rolleyes1

DLRP? How cool!

The only place my daughter has expressed any interest in that is outside of the US is Australia. I don't know why. It seems hot and full of snakes and other creepies!! :confused3

Yes - he will get my husbands old Acura MDX. It has 200K miles on it but hubby took great care of it - mechanic told him it should go to at least 250K! Looks like he will have to take his test in the rain tomorrow! Hope it isn't too bad.

I read the Uglies series also. As others said, not as good as HG but it was entertaining.

Good luck on your driving test also!!

Good morning, ladies!! :)

Is it just me, or is it still hard to wake up in the morning since the time change? I just did not want to get up today. :sad2:

Well, hope you all have a good Tuesday!

Just a quick hi and bye from me . I hope everyone is having a fabulous day :).

Oh and Jen, I mailed out the tickets yesterday.

Dropping in real quick (and with my old SN -- I've been missing my higher post count, is that sad?) to say hi :wave2:

I probably wont be on much over the next few weeks as everything gets settled so I apologize for not catching up on posts I have missed but I wanted to share the good news (although I did just post it on Facebook).

I just got off the phone with my HR who has been handling my transfer request and she heard back from the store I contacted after the first didn't work out and they've approved my transfer! I just have to go fill out the actual store application which I've already been told will be accepted and tada! New store for me. I don't have an official start date yet while they find the best time to get me in but at least I'm not in complete limbo anymore.

:woohoo:

Now it's back to cleaning and packing. I leave early tomorrow morning for Anaheim for a quick trip to get my paperwork with Disney done (Onboarding, they call it) and I'm meeting up with a couple of prospective roommates as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that something will work out and I'll have a place to call home. And since Spring Break season has started I think I may just have to head to Disneyland and squeeze in a showing of Fantasmic ;)

 Jessica!!!! I'm so happy for you & it's wonderful that things are falling in place for you!! Got my fingers crossed that you'll find a good fit for roommates too. Give Mickey a squeeze for me & let him know that Michayla is doing great!!! :yay:

I actually thought of you guys! I would've been tempted to hit the snooze button a couple times. :rolleyes1

She's taken 2 years of French so far, she really loves it. I told her she could do anything and it seems she's listened. :) DLRP is her goal right now. I would love to go to Australia, it just seems so beautiful. Micah went in High School and he said it was amazing.

Just a quick hi and bye from me . I hope everyone is having a fabulous day :).

I am so excited for you!!!!!! :) :) :thumbsup2

I had such an insane day yesterday, I worked 2 hours of OT so I didn't leave here until 6:40, then I had to go get Cass and her friend from school (band project after), then do dinner and get myself ready for job #2....thank goodness job #2 is so much fun, otherwise I wouldn't have wanted to go!! I had a GREAT class last night!!!! I had so many people show up, it was amazing!!!!! I walked in and there were only about 15-20 people there, well ALL of them were there for MY class!! I had people come up after to talk to me, Thanks were given, it was just great! I was so excited!! And my friend who works there took pics of the class so she could put them up on FB, hoping that gets other newbies in to take my lessons!! :) I was home and in bed by about midnight, then up to work today. My boss had to leave for a dr's appt, he's having some vision problems so they got him in ASAP this morning, he probably won't be back. Hopefully I won't have to work until 6:30 tonight tho, I have laundry to do before it comes to life and eats me! lol Micah took today off (he's fighting a cold) so he's going to bring me lunch later, should be yummy!!

Have a good day fellow Divas!
