Afternoon everyone.

We just got back late last night from our trip and had lots of fun!

We left last Sunday and stayed at the Mandalay Beach in Oxnard and it was beautiful. Right on the beach and we went to the beach for a bit and then spent some time in the pool/spa. Then on Monday we went to Olvera street and had lots of fun exploring. Gave the girls a little taste of Mexico and even had the taquitos. We then drove down to Annaheim and went in to the parks for a bit. I had been wanting to get the girls names done in the character letters so we did that and then went in to DCA to check out Buena Vista Street and Carsland.

We ran into Jessica so I got a pic of her with the girls for those on my FB. She looked great and it was so nice chatting with her. We really enjoyed all the changes and it was good to get to "look around" cars land before we actually tried to do any rides.

On Tues we went to DL and we tried the new carnation cafe. The indoor area is nice but they sat us outside and the food was just ok. The soup didn't taste quite the same to me and they didn't have all the same stuff as before. Then we only did a few rides because it was quite crowded and we had other things we wanted to do. We did go on the matterhorn and it was basically the same. Hard to get into the cars I thought. The girls got to see Merida from Brave and we had dinner at the bbq and went to the Jamboree and got some pics with the western characters. Also as someone said Billy Hill is there but it is the green team. Not the one with Kirk.

Then on Wed we got up at like 5 to be in line at the grand cal by 6 for early entry and they didn't let us in till RIGHT at 7 and we all made a mad rush to get to RSR. It was neat and the decorations were cool but the ride itself to me was just ok. Not bad but not spectacular and I think it is faster on test track. Don't get me wrong I liked it but certainly wouldn't wait any substantial time for it. We all rode and then Katy went to get a fast pass while Shelby and I did single rider which was a good idea. The fast pass line was over and hour and wound all the way down in the bugs life section so she skipped it and we did Luigi's. The line took FOREVER and it was just ok as well. It was kind of hard to move around and like Trudi said it was hard to get the balls unless someone knocked one to you. It was just ok and I would not wait for it. I would go if it had no line. We never did get to do the tractors cuz the line was too long and there was a HUGE herd of people that came in at 8 so we just left the area.

We only did Tower and Monsters Inc and then we just got tired and so we sat and the girls did Screamin. We had done Toy STory on Mon during WOC. We had ressies for Carthay so we just sat and relaxed and waited. They were also filming the Australian version of the Today show so we saw that and also LOTS of Australians on vacation. Carthay was wonderful.

We had the grape leaves with goat chees and the bisquits. Then mom had the lamb pasta and I had the steak I think. Then we had some really good deserts.

Everything was great! It is also beautiful inside!

Thurs we went and did the WB tour which was really neat and went to the Hollywood museum which were both fun and interesting and then that night I met an old college friend.

Then on Fri we were supposed to go to Univ but it was SO crowded and we had some other issues with mom's work so we just left and started driving home. We stopped at the Santa Monica Pier, Monterey where I met an old friend from high school, and the Winchester Mystery House.

So all in all it was a REALLY fun trip.

BETH it is way up in the air if and when we are coming because of Katy's cheer thing but for now put us down for Thurs thru Sunday. Thanks.

Now it is back to pandemonium LOL. Work and the state fair and cheer and swim and school is right around the corner. Already got the girls stuff for next year.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Happy Canada Day to all of you Divas "to the north"!

Happy Sunday and July 1, Divas! It's been a nice, quiet day here. I'm 5 days from turning 49... tick tick tick ..... LOL Got my birthday present from hubby - a new camera and some craft goodies (which will arrive on Thursday). And I now have a Disney trip on the current calendar page, so life is good! LOL

"Happy" Monday, Divas! Nothing but Laundry Hell :laundy: going on here and then off to run errands. Thrilling stuff like buying DH underwear at WalMart. LOL

Katie, I'm glad to see that you enjoyed some quality programming. :happytv: LOL

Have a great day, all!

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians! We have an office in Canada so I was thrown off a little this morning when I realized they were closed :upsidedow.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was packed full of a little bit of everything and I'm totally exhausted. I get to leave work at 1:00 today for my anniversary so I will be spending the remainder of the day with my sweetie . I'm currently loading up on coffee because I only got 3 hours of sleep last night :faint:.

HI!!!! I just found this thread, just now, and it sounds like...so...much...fun! I havent been to DL since 1969...before most of you were born, it looks like! I have been to WDW several times, with a trip coming up in November. I am single, mid-fifties, and it isnt always easy to find another Disneyphile to go with, so I am seriously considering joining you, if it isnt too late. Need to take a quick look at finances too, because I plan to spend most of my life savings in November! I live in Seattle, so it should be easier to go to DL!

cough cough, I was born before 1969.:rotfl: Welcome!
I skimmed back a bit and on FB. Can't remember everything but found out that Katie likes TV again. Funny how that's the only thing I remember at the moment.
Who else is doing the Cultivating the Magic tour beside Cheryl, Linda, Bree and myself? Can't wamt to bet back to the parks. Oh the bathrooms there always call my name when I walk by.

Hey ladies! Just got back from a grueling 3 day college tour with my son, friend and her son. My DS is going to be a junior next year so he is getting a head start on college tours. In 3 days we saw, SDSU, UCSD, UC Irvine, Pomona College, Claremont McKenna, Loyola Marymount & UCSB! The only one we did not like was UCSD. We will see UCLA, CalTech & CSU Long Beach in early July and then Cal Poly Pomona, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, and a few others in mid July!! Still need to see UC Berkeley, UC Davis and CSU Sonoma later in the summer. Yikes - that is a lot of colleges! DS's top choice right now is SDSU with Claremont and UCSB in second place.

We leave Monday morning at the ungodly hour of 4:15 in the morning to catch a 6 am flight to go back to Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire with DH's family. Love the lake and DH's family but not looking forward to high temperatures!

Stacie - did you really find gas at $1.37/galloon!!! That is amazing!! - ETA - Your post hit while I was typing. Great deal - wish we had one like that down here!

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July!
Bridget, My DD Becky attended SDSU and loved it! Her DH Nick attended UCSB, and loved it! What's not to like about San Diego or Santa Barbara? One of her best friends attended McKenna Claremont and loved it! All good choices! Big difference in size between SDSU, UCSB and Claremont! Another really nice beach college is Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. More laid back, and beautiful area. Lots of students from our area go there.

Lots of choices, that is for sure!

Hi ladies. On my way back home. Just outside of Reno. :goodvibes

Stacie, you are one busy and exciting lady.
Same to you Bridget! :dance3:

Well I found out today that Micah's sister and her family are planning a weekend at DL in early August....so it's probably a very good thing that I got Cassidy and myself AP's because it looks like we have trip in the making! LOL I may have to upgrade Cass to a Premium tho, I have to review the black out calender!
In 1 week I'll have been in DL for 2 days and will have 2 more days left, I'm so excited!!!

Hello, ladies!
Monday again? I cannot believe we are in July already. This summer, in fact this whole year, is just flying by!!!!
Nothing thrilling going on here...just a little of this and that. Tomorrow I have two, yes two, doctor appointments. I hate going to the doc. It's never good news. Oh well.

TTYL!! :)

I'm currently loading up on coffee because I only got 3 hours of sleep last night :faint:.

:rolleyes1 ;)

Happy Monday!

DBF and I went to the parks yesterday. Radiator Springs Racers is SO FUN! We rode it twice. We didn't do the other 2 rides in Carsland. I was really surprised how un-crowded it was yesterday.

The whole Carsland area and Buena Vista Street came out really really nice.

I bought some Glow With the Show ears. :thumbsup2 They are so cool! They change colors when you are in different areas of Carsland and during WOC.

I hear that they will soon work with Fantasmic and the fireworks too.

Here's a few photopass pictures...they have a ton of new boarders.

Nice boarders! They needed to add something new and I really like these.

I can't get it on my phone, they don't have it in the Amazon App store. I won't use Google Play since I won't accept its new TOS.

Happy Tuesday, Divas! 2 weeks from right now I'll be on my way to Salt Lake City! WOO HOO! But before that can happen, I have to get hubby organized and packed for his little conference trip to DC. Fun times. Load number three (and final for today) is in the washer. I washed the shower curtains and liners this morning - amazing how something that's in the shower can get so icky. LOL Gotta go back to WalMart and exchange some socks I got yesterday and get some bandaids. How am I ALWAYS out of the small ones? I've probably got 50 of the "knee scrape" size, but nothing for the little cuts I always seem to get on my fingers. SIGH. And they don't sell the "good" bandaids in the "spots only" packages like they used to either, just the cheapo ones. Money grubbing weasels. LOL Hope everyone is staying cool!

LOL I think you answered your own question......haha!

Wow, thanks for the welcomes, ladies! Everyone seems so nice and it sure looks/sounds like you have a great time! I am going to pay off my November trip this week and book the trip with you. Woo, hoooooo!

Hi ladies! We ended our trip a day and a half early because we were all ready to be home and I wanted to tell my mom the good news :goodvibes Here is the hat we had made for those of you who didn't see it on fb:
babyannouncement.jpg

My mom started reading it aloud and then looked at us, screamed, jumped from her chair and started hugging me and crying. It was such a great reaction.

The nausea is starting to hit all day and I am definitely very fatigued. Disneyland is not as fun when you are pregnant and cannot go on the great rides ;)

Carsland was pretty cool! We got right in line at AP early entry and walked straight up to about 10 minutes from the actual ride when it broke down...and stayed that way for 3 hours. RSR was amazing, but I will never wait that long again. Luckily we were able to just sit there for 3 hours instead of having to take a few steps forward every minute for 3 hours. We didn't get a chance to ride Luigi's since the line was always long; Tow Mater's was a lot of fun! We also rode Matterhorn (which was a huge mistake for me!) - the new seats HURT! It is not very comfortable; we heard many other people throughout the park talking about how much harder the seats seemed to be.

Earl was picked for one of the Laughing Stock skits - The Dating Game. It was hilarious. He was such a good sport. I will be posting the video on fb eventually.

I hope all is well :)
