Hey Stacie, were you able to get your questions answered on the CB for your Australia trip? I hope so. I peeked at the thread and it looked like you got a couple long responses, so hopefully it gave you the info you wanted.

I did see mention of the plane trip....13 hours?? Is that right? I hope you are going first class and getting the comfy seats!! lol

I finally figutred that out after reading 50 pages today..... It was like a novel with all its ups and downs.........

TIE DYE For Everyone!!!!!

You see the brilliance of my plan???? Everyone is happy and looks FABULOUS :thumbsup2

I like that idea!!

:hippie:  :hippie:  :hippie:

It does sound like fun, doesn't it!! Have a great time on your trip :cheer2:

I am going to miss seeing those in their finest tie dye at the Sunday breakfast. My bus leaves early! Darn.

Silly Betty....... there is plenty of opportunity for tie dye before Sunday too :rolleyes1 Trust me - it will be AWESOME!!

HI!!!! I just found this thread, just now, and it sounds like...so...much...fun! I havent been to DL since 1969...before most of you were born, it looks like! I have been to WDW several times, with a trip coming up in November. I am single, mid-fifties, and it isnt always easy to find another Disneyphile to go with, so I am seriously considering joining you, if it isnt too late. Need to take a quick look at finances too, because I plan to spend most of my life savings in November! I live in Seattle, so it should be easier to go to DL!

I did get some good replies, lots of advice.

Yes, about 13 hours from LAX to Brisbane. The pricing difference between regular and business class is thousands of dollars!!! So not doing that!! The plane we took to Turkey was actually pretty comfortable. I think there are more room between the rows on the planes that fly the long international flights.

Bob will actually be working on the west side of Australia so his flight going there will be more like 20 hours! Glad I'm not on that one! :scared:

It is never too late to join in. And holy cow....we have months and months to go, so dive right.

There are a ton of young-ones on the trip, but a fair sprinkling of the 50plus women.

I will be 50-something my next birthday which I think is much more exciting than just turning 50!!!!

I am a local, so just drive on up, but the trip can be done fairly frugally if you plan. I am known for being cheap:), so avoid the high cost meals and the like.

But join us please, you will be glad that you did.

I was almost 6 months pregnant when we did that flight. I think I tripped over the person in the aisle seat about a million times to use the bathroom. It seemed a lot longer than 13 hours...but we flew into Sydney.

Have fun.

HI there, and welcome to the group! We'd love to have you join us. The more the merrier. Definitely not too late. We have plenty of time, and we'll even have ladies join in just weeks before the trip sometimes.

If you haven't already done so, check out the front page of the thread. Lots of photos and good info on there. Then, if you have any questions, feel free to ask and we'll be happy to answer them. Other than that, just jump right in and get to know everyone.

I cannot fathom 20 hours on a place!! Good luck to Bob! lol
Sounds like it's going to be a fun, whirlwind trip for you. I can't wait to hear all about it and see your pics!

Ugh, I feel your dental pain. My 180 day post deployment insurance plan took most of that 180 days to approve my dental work. They finally sent the approval last Monday. I leave for Disneyland Saturday and my mandatory annual training begins the day we leave Disney (I'll be meeting the unit at the training site), and won't return home until AFTER the insurance expires. So we had 10 business days to get a whole lotta work done, including a root planing. So far we've done 3 out of the 4 necessary appointments, tomorrow is the last one where he'll seat the crown and finish the root planing that he started yesterday. The soft tissue in my mouth feels like hamburger and my jaw aches, but it will all be done tomorrow and I should no longer be in pain by the time we arrive Saturday. And if I am a bit sore, oh noes! I'll have to eat a lot of bread bowl soups at Pacific Wharf!

Oh, what FUN. NOT. My jaw still aches like crazy and I only had 1 crown done. I'm a wimp. LOL And if you're still sore, I also recommend LOTS of ICE CREAM! Aren't there two new ice cream places there now? I think you thoroughly need to check them both out. It will be therapeutic. Yeah. That's it. :lmao:

Welcome! And I was 6 when you last went to DL, but I'm definitely in the "upper half" of the age bracket here. :rotfl:

Another THRILLING day on tap here including the neverending laundry and dishes plus an patience-testing excursion to MegaWally and stops at the dry cleaner and post office. Wheeeeee..... I know, you're all TOTALLY jealous. *snort*

I like the way you think! I'm going to have to take frequent Tiki Room breaks for Dole Whips, I'm thinking. I'm all done now, it was another 3 hours in the chair and the novocaine wore off again, but I'm feeling better now that the Aleve is kicking in. I'm gonna take a nap now and finish packing and getting ready for my parents and everyone to arrive.

The niece and nephew (both 20) are chomping at the bit and don't want to wait until tomorrow to leave, so instead they're leaving late tonight and will be at my place around 10am tomorrow. I still have lots to do, and now less time as I wasn't expecting them to be here until tomorrow evening. But I'm still taking a nap.

Naps are always good! That's what my DH likes best about retirement! :rotfl2:

Hello and Welcome! I'm another seattlite Diva and you will find there are quite a few from the general NW area. Also heading to the World in August. I have attended two other Diva trips and they are great fun. Hope you are able to make it.

Did I miss a page somewhere? Did tie dye really make it onto the schedule?

It was finally the last day of school today but still raining so it sure doesn't feel like summer. I work tomorrow so no sleeping in for me:(

Well today starts 5 days straight of double headers for baseball. No real plans for the 4th but to recover and Katelyn will be in the Edmond's 4th of July parade with her Miss Lynwood title. Then the following Sunday is her graduation party. With the schedule I will probally only have a breather in the beginning of August. When we have no sports for 1 week.:scared1:

Hope everyone has a great 4th!!!! Not sure if I will be able to post before then!

Angie I didn't get to show my love for tie dye before and read 50 pages and had topost and support my tie dye girls!:thumbsup2

I think some of us are planning to wear it on the day we are wearing our favorite disney shirt (and maybe another day just for Beth)!:yay:

Good morning, ladies!! TGIF finally!! :cool1:

What does everyone have planned for the weekend? Anything fun?

Tonight Ruben and I are going to Planet Hollywood to see a new show called "SURF The Musical" featuring the Beach Boys music. It looks cute, almost reminds me of a Disney show, and I love the Beach Boys.
Even though it's a new show, we were able to score free tickets to see it on Houseseats. I hate the desert heat, but I guess all the local's deals and freebies help make up for it. Well, a little. :rotfl2:
For dinner, we'll stop by Earl of Sandwich. LOVE it there. So, I'm looking forward to tonight, but other than that, no real plans for the weekend, except my usual bank-breaking trip to the grocery store. Gotta keep these little bottomless pits running around here fed. Or at least try. ;)

Yes, and no. It's not officially on the schedule (which is on the front page by the way). But, on Sunday you are able to show your creative/fashionable side and pick your favorite Disney shirt to wear. I think some are using past Divas shirts, some are wearing their favorite character, and some are using it as a chance to sneak in some tie dye. :thumbsup2

Are your kids barely done with school? Wow. When do they start up again? Mine have been out since June 7!
Hope the sun shines for you soon. :sunny:

Aw, Patty, you don't have to do that for me.

No. Really. Don't.

:p

Why yes, yes it did!!!! It's all tie dye, all the time :hippie: Get your shirts ready now, Angie!!

Hope everyone has a great 4th!!!! Not sure if I will be able to post before then!

Have fun with baseball! You enjoy the 4th, I'll enjoy the 1st (well, I'll be working, but I'll be wearing my patriotic colors!!) :thumbsup2

Tie dye girls ROCK :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes, Angie, it did!! I'm so excited that I get to show my tie dye pride with the rest of the Divas! I'm working hard to get the best color mix possible. I may have a few extras, just in case (you know I'm a messy chick!!). Patty, I can't wait to wear tie dye with you all!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I just KNEW you'd see my point of view!!!

BTW - Have a great date night!!

Everyone is here from Seattle! We're leaving in the morning. I really need to finish packing.
