I keep getting those too and then I'd think I really should get to work. But I've been lazy since being back from vacation. Today was the first day I tried to get any done.

I made an important decision today. NO MORE CREDIT CARDS!
It's going to be really hard going cold turkey but it MUST be done. I plan on paying the monthly requirements, filling up my gas tank, and the rest goes into savings. I'm really hoping to stay on the Disney Store. I still have the whole holiday season (seasonal ends January 15th) ahead of me. I'm going to work extra hard to impress the boss ladies. In fact, I'm bringing in cookies tomorrow (my first day of work!)

Good plan! I did the same thing, it was hard and sometimes I want to get another one, but that's not going to happen until I pay off what I have and have the ability to pay off my purchases right away! I've made more then enough horrible financial mistakes!

OK, explain this to me. I was chatting with Robert about the trip, and as I mentioned he is totally in support of my taking little trips. I have somehow convinced him that I work really hard at home keeping E alive and all, and every so often putting something away or putting a picture up on the wall. And sometimes I put pictures into albums, and occasionally I help E learn little bits here and there. So he ends up thinking that I deserve vacations! And that's excellent and I'm lucky b/c not all working spouses of SAHParents feel that way.

So I asked him if he would WANT a solo trip for his birthday. He doesn't know. I then say that when I first thought of mentioning it, I was going to say that he and E could have a Guy Trip (like Hound and his padewan), and I swear his face just lit up! So it turns out that he would rather be the Number One Parent for a weekend or so than spend it solo!

I asked him if that wasn't just giving me yet another vacation, and he reminded me that I would very likely work harder, for a few hours a day, on stuff that I need to do but can't do while E is around, so they would return to a lovelier home.


Now here's what needs to be explained. If I got my solo trip in January, and I'm going on a girly trip to San Diego that involves a day trip to DLR, and if I'm working to get at least part of this here March trip without them.....how on earth could I POSSIBLY be feeling JEALOUS about their possible trip???????????



Ugh! I actually started to think "well I'd already have my AP, and a hotel costs the same nowadays for 2 vs 3, and one airfare wouldn't be THAT much if they are already buying 2"....basically trying to figure out a way I could do BOTH in March.

I boggle my mind.

By the time I was 19 I had a Visa, Discover, and AmEx. Which I did fine with while in college, under mummy's protective wallet, and working work-study jobs, then while in grad school getting mega-loans and all.

But when I got out and was so broke I was using my Discover to buy groceries (and that doesn't mean "then paying it immediately b/c I had the money in checking/savings to cover it"), then it turned ugly.

And I do mean ugly. Lost all of 'em by the end of '96 (I was out of chiro school in Sept '95, that's how FAST it went south and they yanked their cards away). Can't get a card now, even if I were working, b/c the accounts appeared on my credit report even TEN years afterwards, when they are supposed to drop off 7 years after you finish your obligations (which I did before they pulled their cards away from me).

Ugly. Be careful! Pay attention to the gurus on the Budget Board...they know what they are talking about with credit cards...

And yes, I wish someone WOULD sue the cc companies who set up at colleges. I was 17 when I started college. 17. What on earth did I know about ccs?

(on the other hand, my brother has always been brilliant with credit cards. he also made his Halloween candy last until Easter, and his Easter candy lasted until Halloween. seriously.)

Yep. I was informed that someone got uber-nosy and found something I used to post on and shared it with the rest of his nursery school, so to speak. Didn't delete it, but made everything private, which I didn't like to do b/c I used to LIKE living "out loud".


Certainly did teach me NOT to use usernames more than once!

Oh man, I know how you feel! I still have one blog, but I made it as private as possible. It's so private no one even knows I have it! It's like my little journal, but I'm still cautious, which I REALLY don't like. I'm afraid someone will find a way to read it.
