And now for not so great news. I got sun burned today. I went to a friend's son's tournament game, I am always good about putting on sunscreen, but some how I missed my arms. :confused3 My face was was done, so was my legs and feet, but my arms were bare! I got so burnt on them. They are hot and itch like crazy. I have a sensitivity to the sun, so its not like me to not use sunscreen daily. But in the craziness of my morning, I missed my arms and now I am paying for it. UGH!

Now back to the trip.....I don't sleep much do to insomnia, so I was thinking about fun things to do on the trip with everyone. I think we should all decorate our doors of the rooms. Its something that we always did at cheer camp, and it was fun. Silly, didn't cost much, and made us more of a group. Just a thought.

As much as I loved doing the TS meals last time, I think we should also plan to do a few meals together, but maybe this time plan to all meet for a CS meal, or just meet up for corndogs. Its not the place that makes it, its all of us together.

Ok, enough of my rambling.

I hope your sunburn heals quickly. Decorating the doors sounds like a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

I agree with some CS meals. I would love to go to Taste Pilot's Grill. I didn't realize how big their portions were for not a lot of $$$. I'll be honest I don't remember the last time I had a corn dog so maybe I'll have one of those while there as well.

TS = table service & CS = counter service?

In past meets we've also met at Riverbelle Terrace. That way people could get their food from wherever they wanted Riverbelle, Stagedoor Cafe, soup from the Verandah, Bengals teriyaki sticks.... and meet up at the big patio over there. That could also be an option.

Taste Pilots - I haven't eaten there since '01, so that would be nice.

Pacific Wharf also offers a variety & a nice area to meet up.

Then we need to make sure you get one!

Meeting up at the Riverbelle Terrace sounds like a good idea. Everyone grabbing what they want, then meeting at the patio :thumbsup2

Also meeting at the patio area by Pacific Wharf is a good idea as well. Lots of options then just meeting up.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Just heard a funny "Yo Mama" that I wanted to share.....

Yo mama is so ugly that they renamed Halloween to Yo-mama-ween!
:rotfl2:

LOLOLOL. :rotfl2:

You ladies are too much.

I have a feeling I'm going to bust something in my stomach by the end of our trip from laughing too dang much.. I can feel it in my bones.. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes! The Riverbelle Terrace idea sounds good! Or you could be like me and get something from the Veranda, some Bengal BBQ AND something from Stagedoor.. Hungry much? :hyper:

I volunteer those with insomnia to decorate all the doors! It does sound like she has the most experience and would make the doors look FABULOUS.

Riverbelle Terrace??? Where the heck is that. I need my map.

Wait, I'm not sure I'm coming yet. Carry on, ignore me. Beth has no idea what she is writing about on the first page.::yes::

I wish I had it :( One of these days I'll be able to get it, and then you're going down, 'cause I kick butt on Mario Kart 64!

Ok, but you have to use the steering wheel. It's a little different, but not too much.

We love playing Mario Kart. My oldest beat me the other night...she's only 6. Boy was she happy.
steph

Do you have wireless internet? We could play online together.

Back on topic, I may have some friends who want to come this time! :woohoo: And you all thought I didn't have any friends! :faint:

Hey girl, I'm so sorry about your burn! I've been there. One time at the beach I had on capris and forgot to put sunblock on my lower legs. Well, long story short, I ended up having to go to the doc. I was burned so bad, I couldn't walk. It hurt to put any pressure on my legs, and it blistered. Yikes. Never, ever again!

*Decorating doors: I'm all for that! We did that on the ladies trip to WDW. My roomie and I had a big lime green poster with our DIS names on it, and some decorations including Mickey heads and Disney stickers.

We were staying at the Coronado Springs Resort and had big windows in the front. Since it was near Halloween we put up themed window clings, and some other things in the window sill like a ghost, and a fake flickering candle.

That resort is so big, and so confusing, I had one lady come up to me one evening and tell me she always found her way back to her room using our window as a land mark!! :lmao:

*Meals: I guess I'm odd man out on this one. I can't always afford to take my whole family to a sit down meal when we are there as it really adds up for 6 people!! So when I'm alone, I like to use it as a time to splurge and treat myself. Plus it's nice to eat in peace without little ones asking me to serve this or cut that.

So while I'm not opposed to doing some counter service meals and saving money, (hey, I love me a corndog as much as the next gal) I will still personally be planning to try some restaurants as well. At least 2 or 3. And possibly a character meal. I had so much fun at HOB last time and never would have been able to go there with my whole family.

I'm in commando mode when I'm there with my kids, when I'm solo, I like to slow down the pace a little and visit with friends.
So if anyone else is still interested in trying some table service meals, just let me know. :)

I'm planning to meet up with everyone still on June 7. But there may be a wrinkle. Riley made it to semi finals which are the 5th. If they win and go to the finals, he plays at 6pm on the 7th! Grrr!
Congrats on making the semi finals!! I will miss seeing you though if you can't make it on the 7th. :worried:

I definitely still want some table service meals--just thought it might be fun to also have some "less formal" options.

Yeah, that's what I meant too. Try to strike a nice balance between the two. No way can I afford to eat TS all the time, and I wouldn't even want to because it is time consuming, and expensive.
At the same time, I don't want to skip them altogether since it's rare that I get to sit down and be pampered. ;)

I want to do TS, CS and also buy any snack I want. I don't usually when we are all there 1) because DS2 doesn't want to eat snacks all the time or he has to get a shot and I feel really bad eating in front of him, 2) we go all the time and if we bought snacks for all of us all the time it would get costly.

So I want to try every snack that I have been wanting to try.:thumbsup2

LOL I don't blame you. There are so many yummy snacks too!

OKay if anyone is interested in decorating their door, I remembered this thread from awhile ago that has some good ideas in it if you want to check it out. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1101182

LOL at the one who "borrowed" 240 lime green mickey heads from Home Depot for her door.

I think we should combine the door decorating with the wine party . . . . .

I always have good intentions about snacking . . . . and then never seem to get to do so. Just not enough time! I did get a corn dog on the Ladies' trip (Ellen, Callie and I met up at the Corn Dog Castle as the same time).

Cheryl--what snacks are you looking forward to?

I second that!

...and I read about that lady too, I was hoping it was a typo. 240? What she do, steal a whole box? :tiptoe:

We should definitely do another character meal. It was so much fun at Goofy's. That creme brule (I think I misspelled that) french toast was heavenly  . I will make sure that I don't over do the carbs next time though....but it will be so hard :rotfl2:

That's a great idea. Have everyone bring some craft type stuff that represents themselves (like the character each of us relates to).

I'm getting so excited about this trip and it's still 9+ months away :( .

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

That's a good idea. So we'd do it when? First night? I mean we'd have to do it fairly early on since we'd want our doors decorated most of the time, right? :confused3

But that would be fun! Wine and decorating. Kind of like a get to know you social beforehand. :rotfl:

I'm game for anything. Whatever everyone else decides.

Hey Steph, I know how you feel! I can't believe it's so far away, BUT that just gives us more time to plan more fun things. :cool1: ;)

I wish I'd been there for Goofy's! The pics look great. I like the idea that was suggested of doing the Lilo and Stitch breakfast since you have the option of the buffet or the menu. I think that would be nice for a large group.

Lilo & Stitch would be hilarious because we could all learn the hula w/ Stitch. Just think of the picture possibilities. :lmao:
