Hi! I have not met you officially yet.

Too sad about you not making the meet, but how awesome that you get to go to Hawaii! Not a bad trade.

Hopefully you can squeeze in the Ladies trip as it gets closer!:cheer2:

Melody:flower3:

Nice to meet you Melody!! I am hoping to make it still. We did Kauai this year, and loved it! It's just gorgeous there, so I would love love love to go back. Plus, Pierce Brosnan lives there and I sadly did not get to see him last time LOL, so maybe this time I'll get lucky.

Thanks Cheryl!

They look perfect!

Instead of the Red Hat Society, we can the "DIS Lime Lei Society.":lmao:

LOL--or maybe I can wear my red hat WITH my lime green lei--won't THAT look attractive?

I had my "tea" on Saturday--one of the gals brought flowered bikini bras for us all to wear (oh yea, right--do they have an extender?) some of the gals wore them OVER their clothes. Which I guess is better than "in lieu of" clothes (My Red Hat group is pretty wild.)

Howdy Ladies!!

It's time for the good news/bad news posting.

Good news - my Dec WDW trip is back on!!

Bad news - I have been laid off as of Noon today

But let's concentrate on the Good News, it's much happier.

If I manage to find a full time job between now and Dec I'll just make sure to tell them ALL my disney trips from now to Dec 09. LOL I'll take the time off without pay! Otherwise, back to one or two weeks of temp work at a time,if I can find any. Which is a lot easier to work around.

So that's how my day's been. Aren't you glad I posted.

Of course now I'm tempted to pencil back in March 09 with you guys. I'll have to wait and see if my sister's trip in Nov 09 happens or not. I should know by the new year, I hope. I'm such a sucker for vacations.

Bummer about the job . . . . I hate this economy.

But . . . . potential good news about March, right?

We'll keep our fingers (and toes) crossed!

WDW- Sorry about your lay off. I've been through 2 layoffs with the same company sinec 2003 and now I'm working there as a contractor and my job ends in October. It really helps to have a positive outlook and I bet you find something even better for you soon! GL!

I actually got to see Pierce Brosnan (and his family) at the premiere of the Snow White musical back in 2004 in Disneyland. My son thought it was cool to see James Bond.

Shelly~ Sorry to hear about your job.

Cheryl~ Thanks for ordering the lei's :thumbsup2 .

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm still exhausted from yesterday. My son had a football game in Rialto which is in the middle of nowhere and it was about 103 degrees. Poor boys :scared: . And since I'm the team mom, I was running around in the darn heat getting them their water, half time snack & after game snacks. I'm still tired.

The good news is that they won 46 to 0. The bad news is, is that since Rialto is sort of ghetto, one of the moms had her hub cabs stolen and there were a couple altercations in the stands  . It's a lovely city if you ever get the chance to visit (no offense if anyone who lives there) ;) .

Well I'm about to leave work so I'll check in with you gals later .

I'm sorry to hear about your layoff. I hope you are able to find work in the near future...Yes the total economy stinks right now. Great news about your trip to WDW in December. I definitely think you should write the March trip on your calendar in INK!!! :lmao:

You are really busy...how are you keeping up with everything??? This heat is horrible, are you counting the days?? I hated being pregnant during the summer here. Sorry to hear about the problems at the football game. Take care. Talk to you soon.

I think that there should be a rule about pregnant ladies not having to be team mom!

Hi everyone. Well school has started and boy it was off to a rocky start. I entered Christian in a school outside of our district. They accepted him on a permit. Then when it came time to go over a health plan they said that if they had to calculate insulin doses he couldn't go there. Anyway after 3 days we finally got it figured out. I had to go to his school to give him his shot at lunch for those first 3 days and I had 1-2 meetings there for those three days. But everything turned out ok after all.

Cheryl the leis are cute. I can't wait unitl the mini meet. We aren't going to DCA though. I need to look at the Cafe Orleans menu to see what I am going to order for dinner that night. LOL.

I got the boos now I have to figure out how to do it and then boo someone else.:rotfl:

:rolleyes1

I just made a reservation for Oct 16-18 at a Anaheim hotel. Looks like I'll be making the mini-meet. As long as I can get the time off work....
That's GREAT news!!!

I'm happy your WDW trip is back on though! And that you are thinking about joining us in March!! If you have to be a sucker for something, vacations are a good thing to be a sucker for. :thumbsup2

Hi Katie. You should not have to be running around. I'm glad they won the game although Rialto sounds kind of scary. :scared1:

Oh good it worked.

That bottle is really pretty. I'm sure what's inside is good also. I think I need to break out my martini shaker. I haven't had an apple martini in a looooong time.

In my video above all the medical supplies there is a row of martini glasses. Everyone keeps asking which shelf I reach for first.:rotfl:

You know what I just realized. I don't have to click right on that rolling head. I always had a hard time following back and forth. :rotfl2:

OMG, Cheryl, speaking of your video, I wanted to tell you how great I think it is. Really well put together and very informative, yet sweet at the same time. The part where you said he's your hero brought tears to my eyes!

I loved the Disney shots in there. LOL He seems like a really cool kid and you are an amazing mom for doing what you do. I had no idea it was so involved. Thanks for keeping that link in your sig so we could see it.

Thanks Beth. I don't think anyone realizes how involved it is. I had a really hard time putting it together. I cried almost the whole day. I tried to make it simple since it is complicated to understand diabetes. If I educate at least one person then it has done it's job. I think I have done it.:)

:grouphug: I think you have done it too. I'm going to show it to my kids. They were just asking us about diabetes the other day (their Grandma has it) and Ruben was trying to explain it to them. It's hard to really make it sink in though. I think this will give them a good idea. Again, thanks. :)

Hi Cheryl,

I just watched the video. How super sweet!

My best friend's DD has diabetes. Has had it since she was 5, and is now 16! I remember how hard it was for my friend at first. Her father was a diabetic, so she knew what the whole thing entailed, and it scared her so much. We live in Central California, and she was lucky enough to find a doctor who is really really involved in juvenille diabetes. Even started a camp just for these kids. Have you ever heard of Bear Skin Meadows? It is just wonderful, and Hannah her DD still loves to go. It makes her realixze she is not alone in the world. When Hannah was small, before she could give herself her own shots, I went to a clinic, so I could learn how to give insulin to her. I wanted my friend to be able to get away sometimes. What a responsibilitly! Yikes! Gave me a whole new perspective. Every year we go to a dinner put on by this doctor to raise money for children who don't have the funds to go to camp, or get insulin pumps. Speaking of pumps, Hannah has one, and boy has it made it easier for her. She never measures her food out. As a matter of fact, I don't think they ever did that. I don't think her doctor thought it was necessary. Just looked at packages and stuff like that. Anyways she eats something, and just bolises (sp) for it. Much easier. Have you ever thought of that? I'm sure you have!

Anyways, bless you and Christian and your whole family. :grouphug:

Aloha, ladies! Check out my ticker and you'll see where I'm going in a couple hours. I'll catch-up with you all in about 10 days!
