My middle daughter has a jehovah's witness boy in her class for the 3rd year and because he does not celebrate ANY holidays the other kids are not even allowed to make mother's or father's day gifts even because HE doesn't believe in it. I mean COME ON! It is just over the top to me. 20 other kids can't do something because ONE kid doesn't believe in something. I mean this is just ridiculous to me.
I have always said if you don't choose to believe in something or celebrate something that is fine but I don't see why everyone else has to suffer because of ONE person's beliefs. I don't know I just don't get it. And you are right it is NOT just you guys. I know there are some other schools here that DO celebrate stuff it just seems like our school is over the top. But boy they are sure right there with their hands out. It seems like every other day they are sending some fund raiser home. THey have no aversion to THAT!
I think my beliefs are against FUND RAISING!![]()
I totally agree with you. The school area where my children attend is very diverse with many different cultures and beliefs and it's not fair to punish the kids from any fun activities because of ones beliefs. I think that is why my DD's school names the parties something different than the actual holiday. Personally, my beliefs don't really celebrate a lot of holidays but I don't make a big deal about it and I know kids need a little bit of fun while at school.
I hope at least your kids have a good time Trick or Treating tomorrow night
