Afternoon all. As usual you guys have been busy! :) Well I am back from my running round. Took Katy for her birthday lunch at Marie Calendars. That was fun and yummy. Of course I splurged and had a piece of pie. YUM! Then I felt ok so I took the girls to the movies. For those wondering about Marley and Me I liked it but it WAS a tear jerker at the end. The girls and I did really enjoy it though and sometimes you can use a good cry. I wouldn't NOT see it because of the ending. It fit is all I can say and it didn't make it bad. I enjoyed it and so did the girls so it was worth seeing I think.

Anyway now we are home and just going to relax and watch the tube. Still all reruns so probably just watch some videos. They showed a trailer for the new Night at the Museum 2 or whatever it is called so the girls want to watch the orig so we may watch that. They had a few interesting things that are coming out. Most of the previews were actually for kid type movies.

Oh and there was this whole flock of wild turkeys on this REALLY busy road that I was driving down. It was SO weird to see them all. Like 30 of them on this REALLY busy 5 lane road. Hopefully no one hit any of them with their cars.

Anyway I am off to eat dinner and watch tv.

Tomorrow is my baby's 9th birthday. She is SOOO excited. I can't believe it. I remember the day she was born. It was 1999 and it was very exciting. she was my first baby and it was the dawn of the millenium and she was born on a Friday night at 9:16 p.m. Missed midnight by a few hours. I was in labor for 22 hours and she was a week late (was due Christmas day). It was VERY exciting and I ended up with an emergency C section after all that labor. But we got on the news as one of the last babies born in the OLD millenium. She hates being born on New Year's eve but I think it is exciting and esp being born during the end of the old millenium. Anyway my bit of nostalgia for the day.

See you gals tomorrow. :)

Kelly: Happy Birthday to your baby!!!!!

aaaaaawwwwwww kelley... what a sweet story about your baby:goodvibes
how funny about the wild turkeys.. it makes me think of a southpark episode.:rotfl:

Kelly, what a great story about your little one! I know she'll have a great day tomorrow. Time does fly.

Those deals are so great. I think in 2010 we should do one day at Disneyland and then all hop on a cruise to Mexico! :yay:

I'm always down for a cruise. Usually you can find really great deals for cruises. But I always end up with my bar tab costing more than my cruise. That's not good.

I guess because of the recent break-up I didn't want to be alone for NYE--so I invited one friend, then invited another and now I'm cooking dinner for 6 (maybe 8) tomorrow night! LOL--ok, guess who's going to Costco and the grocery store tonight~!

Here's my menu as of now: any tips?

Tomato-basil soup
Israeli salad (essentially tomatoes and cucumbers in an olive oil/lemon dressing)
Moroccan Salmon
Couscous with Roasted Veggies

Definetely going for the mediterranean theme here!

My Mom is making this delish white cranberry cake (I invited her too--didn't want her to be alone), so I don't need to deal with dessert. (not in the theme--but who has time to make baklava and besides this cake is WONDERFUL!)

Sounds yummy. I originally started with just DBF and I staying home with the kids. Then my brother and his kids, his friend, his neighbor, a few more of our friends, a co worker or two, and some cousins. Now instead of a quite night in, its gonna be a party. Everyone is pitching in though. They are bringing what they want to drink and some appitizers to share. I will be making bacon wrapped dates, stuffed mini portobellos, guacamole and chips, finger sandwiches, and brie pockets. I might make more, but I haven't decided yet, I will see what inspires me at the store tomorrow.

Those New Year menus sound so yummy!

I just made this recipe

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/bacon-cheeseburger-meatloaf-recipe/index.html

Except i made them in muffin tins..and they came out so delicious!

My husband is taking lunch to his staff tomorrow..and so we made bacon cheeseburger mini meatloafs....... twice baked triple cheese mashed potatoes... a big beautiful salad...a pickled tray with several types of olives, pickled garlic and pickled green beans and peppers... for dessert .. a triple berry trifle...i hope that they enjoy it...Oh Yes..He's going to make them mimosas. He's a Good Boss:lovestruc

What i'm going to do with the tinkerbelle t shirt... is put the image on a disc..then also print it out..and take it as well as the shirts to our local silk screen printer and get them to do it...it should work..right?:confused3

Please wish Katy a happy birthday from all of us!

My appt for my tooth extraction is the 17th. Right before we were supposed to meet up. Guess I'll have to sit that one out. :sad1:

We can find a different date if you want. I would hate to have you miss out on the cheesecake and a fun day with Amy and me!

Oh yeah, and Encore-- so not worth the trip. It basically looks just like the Wynn except even more red. Don't get me wrong... it's pretty, but to me it was nothing special. Then again, I wasn't impressed with the Palazzo either. Personally, my two favorites on the Strip are Paris and the Bellagio. I love Paris for the gaming floor and the Bellagio for the lobby, conservatory and the fountains of course!

But even though Encore wasn't too exciting we still had a fun day. We hit the Disney Character Warehouse (found a great tote for the exchange!) and the Target and Kohls on Blue Diamond before heading up to the Wynn and Encore for lunch and a little gaming before we had to pick up Ty.

I was excited to see that Target has gone to 75% off the Christmas stuff, so I got some great deals along with a new electric fondue pot for tomorrow night. We have done fondue the past couple of New Year's Eves but I had a sterno pot that I totally fought with each year to get the temperature right. Even though it's just the 3 of us, hopefully having an electric pot will make it go smoother this year!

I am glad to hear you guys had a good holiday. Mine was pretty good too! My ds3 was so funny! He had just opened his sisters christmas present for her (she is 6 months old so she didn't mind!) It was a book with rainforest animals and it was the touch and feel kind. We told him it was his turn to open a present and he said "No thanks, I have to fluff the monkey". We all laughed so hard! I can just see that ending up as his yearbook quote!

Talk soon!
Sarah

That is too funny!

So, my diet starts Jan 1st. Can anyone join the Disneyland Divas group? I lost 50 pounds last spring on WW, but fell off the wagon over the summer. I want to try it again without attending meetings. I'd love some support.

I have lots to do this morning, but will finally try out the transfer this afternoon. I'll let you all know how it goes.

QUOTE]
Look forward to seeing you on DLD getting fit link! But, I'm really waiting to hear how the transfer goes.

Just checking in to see where you're all at.

We really hope this is the answer and it will relieve the back pain she has been having, which has been progressively getting worse.

Also my parents are sending my DSis, Diana, and I on a mini-vacation. Of course from the very beginning I shouted "DISNEYWORLD":lmao:but it's a) too expensive and b) we can't get enough time off.
We are thinking something that's 3-4 nights/4-5 days.

Right now we are very interested in Charleston, SC.

Prayers for your Mom. Hope this is fix.

The trip sounds great!

:lmao:

Ok you seem to make the most yummy things!! Although..I have never had salmon. But none the less it sounds yummy!!

No Salmon and you're in Washington???

The only one I know of is the "Everyone Gets In for the Kids' Price" ticket special. A three day hopper is $149 plus tax. A four day hopper is $164 plus tax.

I'm tempted to get an annual pass this year though.

I can highly suggest getting the annual pass!! I ordered mine from Costco and got the $50 gift card, but there is a delivery fee ($15??). Alternatively, if you order before midnight tomorrow, you can get the $20 off from Disney. Hmm...decisions, decisions.

Oh my gosh Dawn! If your husband was my boss, I would gain a ton of weight. I hope he doesn't do that very often! Seriously, that is too nice.

Let me know how the shirt thing goes. I am totally willing to through out the transfer paper and get someone else to do it right:)

Heck, he wants to come on our ladies trip. Except he can't......cause he's NOT a lady.
Seriously?? LOL Why? Does he like DL that much or is he having visions like Stacie's boyfriend of LPF's?? :rotfl2:

That's what I'm going to be buying. The 5 day hopper though for $174. I can't justify an AP right now. No one else in my family has one and I don't think I'd use it other then this trip, so those will have to do, especially since there are no black out days this time around.

Tomorrow is my baby's 9th birthday.
Hope she has a great one!!

Thanks. But I don't want to mess up the plans you guys have already made. The only other day I could do it would be the Sunday before (the 11th). So if that doesn't work for you two, just stick with your original plans and enjoy some cheesecake for me!

I had a feeling the Encore would be like that. I don't like the new trend of building these fancy hotels with nothing much else to offer. They are boring if you ask me. We spent two nights at the Palazzo but they were free thanks to my MIL. I'd never pay to stay there. The Bellagio is my favorite. Love the fountains!!

Oh, and I was at Target tonight and got some great deals at 75% off. :thumbsup2

OH, for any of you needing a four day hopper. Ares Travel has them for $154, which is $10 less than anyplace else. There is a handling fee of a couple of bucks, but it is still $8 bucks ahead, and that is like 1 corndog and 1/2 a churro, or maybe two kabobs at Bengals, etc.....

I'm quite sure hubby would like to go too. He just likes DLR and doesn't mind hanging out with females either; he was always the "nice guy", the "best friend", and is comfy in such situations. :upsidedow

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the "club"!!!!
:thanks:

Your husband is such a good boss!! You are so nice to make them such yummy things!!

No Salmon and you're in Washington???
I know I should be exiled from this state!!:lmao:

Good Morning ladies!

I feel way better today, and once again thankyou for all of your well wishes. I have tried to catch up on everything that I can. Somewhere along the way, the t-shirt thing has been brought up again. Can someone please tell me the page number the Tink image is on?

I wish I could respond to everything.
I do remember that Cristabel can't come now for some reason? That's sad.
Kelly's surgery schedule is good.
Snow is bad.
Food is good.
I was signed up for Walt's tour.

And where is Wendy??

Hey Wendygirl???

Your long lost Auntie was going to look for the Monkey Bride, and lost her chance!!
I am sad, cuz I really wanted to try and see her. Oh well..........there is next year!

Tinkermell.... i miss Wendy too!:guilty:
the tinkerbell image is on the 1st page.

Tracey... :rotfl: ...it always makes me smile to see you!

Jordansmomma... DH has a great staff and they've been with him for many many years..so it's easy to do things for them, cuz they are so nice.
Are you missing your son? When does he come home?

Morning everyone.

First off Cristabel hope your mom is feeling better. I know that is a rough surgery so I hope she is doing well!!

And thanks to EVERYONE who wished Katy a happy birthday. She is SOOO excited! My little Chef in training. She wants an easy bake oven and of course that is what she is getting but she doesn't know it yet ;)

Tonight we are having a family party at my mom's place but today I have to run in to work since I am not working on Friday so I have to do that today and then tonight we go to mom's for dinner and of course Katy got to pick the menu and she is going to help grandma cook it of course ;)

And then we will just have a small cake and we will open the gifts from us. Then tomorrow we will spend the day at mom and dad's watching the bowl games and probably have a prime rib. We were supposed to go to Truckee and play in the snow but as I said Shane has to work on Friday so that isn't going to happen now. Then as I said Friday Shane has to work as does Lynn so I will probably just hang out with the girls. We may go see another movie or rent some and then Saturday is the big birthday party at Strikes (a big bowling place here in town). So that should be fun. Then Sunday Shane has to work and vacation is over for another year. WHEW!

Everyone sounds like they are going to have some fun and the menus sound YUM!

Thought I would do a then and now of Katy for the fun of it.

This was her first pic.
katybaby001.jpg

And of course I HAD to post her first disney trip since this is the DIS boards after all ;)

Sounds exactly like my husband too. If I wasn't going on the girls only trip, Dave would probably want to go instead!

Hey gals. I decided to mix things up a bit for the New Year and color my hair darker (not permanent, just for fun). Here's the new and different me:

Yummers!!!
