Hey I had spaghetti & garlic bread for dinner last night also!! :rotfl:

Capri Hows the snow in Spokane?
My ex lives in Medical Lake and its crazy out there. (no pun intended) So DS8 hasn't been able to go to his house during Christmas break.

Wow, I guess after all the rich holiday foods, everyone was craving something simple......and cheap......and easy to make. :goodvibes

The snow here is deep......very, very deep. Roofs are collapsing from the load, and now the news stations are warning everyone (especially those with older roofs or flat roofs) to clear the snow from their roofs. A Rosauers grocery store roof collapsed yesterday evening shortly after 5:00pm. There was a total of 70 people in the store at the time, and no one was seriously injured. Talk about LUCK! Those people definitely had some guardian angels looking over them.

Thanks goodness we get a little break from mother nature today (and the plows have a chance to catch up a little) before the next system comes in.

We have close to 4 feet out there now. I wonder how much snow we'll have out there by the end of January?!!!

Our neighbors have relatives staying with them who are from Alaska and said they've NEVER seen this much snow. They're just amazed at the amount of snow.

Great. There's nothing like impressing Alaskans with huge amounts of snow.

Yeah, I can imagine that if it's this bad where we live (in the Mead area just north of Spokane), then the Medical Lake area would indeed be.....ahem.....crazy!:lmao:

OH Prasie the lord. The surgical lady just called and my surgery is rescheduled!! YAY! What a relief. It is rescheduled for February 5th and get this now it I have to be there at 5:30 A. M.!!! LOL. What a huge difference. I went from having surgery at 5:30 P.M. to 5:30 A.M. but hey I'll GLADY take it!! I don't have to starve at ALL now! Now I just have to get UP in the middle of the night but I'll take it!!!! I'm SOO stoked now. And SOOOO relieved! What a weight off. And the good news is I will have it all taken care of before the trip so hopefully I might even have this problem fixed before the trip so I can be all better and be able to enjoy it! YAY!

Oh and I forgot to tell you before last night one of Katy's friends called and it was a little boy from her class. He called to "vip" (rsvp) for her party. It was so cute. I told him ok but he still wanted to talk to Katy. They talked for about 20 minutes and poor Katy couldn't get a word in edgewise. It is so cute listening to two 8 year olds talking on the phone and the stuff they say. DH and I were just rolling on the floor laughing. And also while I was napping yesterday one of the mom's called and I was half asleep and I have NO idea who she was. She talked so fast I don't know WHICH mom she was and she probably thought I was a lunatic cuz I said something to her and I don't even know who she was LOL. Oh well.

I actually am amazed that ANY of them called. Usually I don't get ANY rsvps and yesterday was the last day I asked them to call by so as usual I don't know WHO is going to show up. I usually invite some of our good friends cuz I know they are allways good at showing up but Katy allways wants to invite some of her friends from class and invariably they NEVER rsvp and it is always a crap shoot as to whether they will come. I have had years where ALL of them come and years where hardly ANY come.

Last year we had a HORRIBLE storm and I was amazed ANY came. And it sucks too when you have to pay a minimum charge but what else is new.

Next year she will be in 4th grade so I told her instead of a big party I was thinking of inviting less kids and doing a movie day and then going to pizza after. That way there are no "minimums" and if some kids don't show then it is no big deal.

I hate to admit but I will be glad when they are over the party age cuz it is a huge pain in the butt trying to organize and then having people not show or call. Me and my OCD LOL it stresses me out. ;)

Anyway we are about to leave to take Lynn to work and meet mom and I am feeling a lot better now that I heard from my doc's office so I think we are going to attempt the movie if the timing works out. I will let you guys know how it is. :)

See you guys later.

Jinx again to Capri and Kelly! We all posted at 12:54.

My post was definitely the least useful of the three posts though!

Just checking in to see where you're all at.

Melody I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you.

Has anyone seen Wendy on recently? I want to make sure she knows that I won't be going in March and that she won't have a carpool buddy :sad2:

Please pray for my mom. Today my mom went in for surgery to remove a uterine fibroid, in turn (I believe, if they are still going ahead with original plans) removing her uterus. The Dr. said it was much like a C-section surgery and so was the recovery time. She got out of surgery around 10am and the Dr. said everything went fine. When I last talked to my dad he said she was being taken to the recuperating room and that he couldn't see her for another hour.

We really hope this is the answer and it will relieve the back pain she has been having, which has been progressively getting worse.

Also my parents are sending my DSis, Diana, and I on a mini-vacation. Of course from the very beginning I shouted "DISNEYWORLD":lmao:but it's a) too expensive and b) we can't get enough time off.
We are thinking something that's 3-4 nights/4-5 days.

Right now we are very interested in Charleston, SC.

Best wishes to your Mom and family--I hope this fixes it.

Why Charleston? It's a pretty area, but is there much to entice two young girls? I mean two wild (ok--maybe not so wild) girls -I'd be thinking of someplace to PARTY! How about one of those three or four day cruises to Mexico?

And wouldn't it be as much for airfare to SC as Florida (maybe more?) I would think you could get pretty inexpensive offsite digs at WDW and tickets for a couple of days--eat cheap. You could spend one day at DTD (it's much bigger than out here).

That's my two cents--party boat or WDW.

<upsidedown>hhhmmmm...trying to figure out how you did it</upsidedown>
<font color=hotpink>can't figure it out</font color=hotpink>
<font size=5>gggRRRRrrrrrRRRRrrrrrr</font size=5>

Disney Inspired... I let Wendy know that you won't be going.

I guess because of the recent break-up I didn't want to be alone for NYE--so I invited one friend, then invited another and now I'm cooking dinner for 6 (maybe 8) tomorrow night! LOL--ok, guess who's going to Costco and the grocery store tonight~!

Here's my menu as of now: any tips?

Tomato-basil soup
Israeli salad (essentially tomatoes and cucumbers in an olive oil/lemon dressing)
Moroccan Salmon
Couscous with Roasted Veggies

Definetely going for the mediterranean theme here!

My Mom is making this delish white cranberry cake (I invited her too--didn't want her to be alone), so I don't need to deal with dessert. (not in the theme--but who has time to make baklava and besides this cake is WONDERFUL!)

Beth.. or Linda.... Please add Wendy to the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour... Thank You. And can You put Melody down also.:goodvibes

Thank You Berry Much

Thanks for your well wishes:hug:

Well, I guess you could call us old people at heart, or at least I am. I'm interested because there is SO much history there and I've always been really interested in the Civil War and WWII. We've never been the wild and crazy type. My sister wasn't up for WDW and I wouldn't want to stay offsite, I've been spoiled:laughing: We do have a free companion flight that we got from T-mobile so we are really only paying for one RT flight. Neat, huh?

Actually we were supposed to go to Cancun as a family next month but since my mom had to get the surgery it's been postponed.

This may not be a legal issue on a boat but I'm not 21 yet:drinking1...My sister is 22 and she was all for going to Vegas but Vegas is SO expensive and I can't go anywhere since I'm not 21. I'm a wittle baby.

I agree.

There's some AWESOME cruise deals out there right now.....like $300-$500 per person for a 5 day Mexican cruise (and of course that includes your room, food, and onboard entertainment).

WDW wouldn't be too bad, especially staying at a value resort or off site. It's their tickets that make a trip to WDW kind of expensive.....well, and food (unless you go there during "free dining"). Of course food is expensive anywhere you go that happens to be a big tourist destination. I say order in.;)

However, you could go to US/IOA pretty cheaply. Stay off site (great hotel and condo rental deals right now!), and a 7 day park hopper is only $89 per person. That would be a blast. I've never been there yet, but my boys are begging to go. They want to ride Spiderman, and Men In Black, and the new Simpsons ride, and the Cat in the Hat rides, and the Jimmy Neuton ride, and.....well you get the picture.:goodvibes

Go someplace fun and exciting and new!!!:yay:

I'll keep your mom in my prayers!

Oh.....my......gosh! I just realized you've never been to DL?!?!
Yep, we actually have a virgin in our midst.

My
I'm paying $208 for 2 nights. It's a 1 bedroom suite with full kitchen. It's about a mile west of the strip on Tropicana.
That's not bad at all, especially for this time of year. Nice that it has a kitchen too!

Ok so I am not so crafty so how the heck do I make my shirt???
I'm waiting for one of these crafty types to figure it out and give us all step by step directions. :rolleyes1

I think Dave and I are going to check it out today... Even though both Dave and I are off this week we sent Ty back to school yesterday. I have convinced myself that he needs to be around other kids and that it's okay for D and I to have a little alone time without the kiddo!
It's definitely ok! Let me know what you think of it. Oh, and I need to send you and Amy a PM. My appt for my tooth extraction is the 17th. Right before we were supposed to meet up. Guess I'll have to sit that one out. :sad1:

I have a new monkey trick!

:upsidedow ¿sıɥʇ op noʎ uɐɔ :upsidedow
You should have waited until NYE when everyone's been drinking and really freaked 'em out!! :rotfl:

I saw that on the news. Way too crazy!! Thank goodness no one was hurt!
You guys have way more snow than we have, but seriously it could stop anytime!! I heard that there is another storm coming in tomorrow.

I guess because of the recent break-up I didn't want to be alone for NYE--so I invited one friend, then invited another and now I'm cooking dinner for 6 (maybe 8) tomorrow night! LOL--ok, guess who's going to Costco and the grocery store tonight~!

Ok you seem to make the most yummy things!! Although..I have never had salmon. But none the less it sounds yummy!!

I know how ya feel! Doofus (only cuz i think the word, usually I just call him BB aka brown bathroom :lmao: ) is my BFFs brother so i hardly get to escape him. We broke up on Halloween wknd. But it truly blows that we still get to "spend" the holidays together but not "spend" the holidays together. I really hope that he decides to go out with his friends and not my friends tomorrow night. (ok so we are all friends, but he has others darn it!! :lmao: )
But if not like always just as I did on Christmas, I will put on my big girl pants and deal with it!! I would play  but his sister knows better.
Anywhoo...I will get off my box now...

Those prices for the US/IOA passes are so good! I've been tempted many times to buy them. Then the cost of airfare, hotel and food for six people always bring me back to reality. :headache:
