Im jealous of everyone who is baking. I'm not going to this year. First year in I can't remember how long. Probably since I was a teen. I am just too busy and don't see where I can schedule it in. Maybe if I don't sleep I can at least do some fudge, bread and one type of cookie.

Hello!

Well I took pictures of the aprons today, but was very busy with my Grandsons. How did I ever do it with 4 kids I'd like to know?

Anyways, I'm too tired to post the pics tonight, so as my favorite saying is............"Tomorrow is another day." :goodvibes

I hope all is well. Tomorrow I'm also baking soft ginger cookies, and making my peppermint candy.

Also making bread pudding to bring to my DD's house tomorrow night. Yummers! Beth, I use the Disney one that you passed along to me. I will be making the rum sauce again,:scared1: and this time, I'm using a bigger pan, and having my baking soda ready for the flamin burn off. :rotfl: Kind of scary but......... Oooh.......... it is so worth it in the end. The best sauce ever!!!

Geesh............It is only 7:45pm and I'm yawning soooooo much. Must be the glass of red wine i just finished. :rolleyes1

I forgot to ask if anyone knows if they still let you in early to DCA to ride Soarin??

Thanks!

Thanks!

Yep, Melody. They open the gates (both esplanade and GCH private entrance) at approx. 9:30 and the only ride open is Soarin. The FP machines are normally turned on at this time as well. :thumbsup2

Thanks Callie!

Are you cold with all that snow around you? Burrrr!!! :cold: :cold: :cold:

But it is soooooooooooo pretty and festive for Christmas!

Do tell, what are you baking? This is what I'm going to bake tomorrow (I think) http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/detail.aspx?ID=137282 And of course we have to make cookies for Santa on Wednesday too.

steph
Those look so cute!! How fun.
I made some Red Velvet cupcakes for the first time which did not turn out. LOL They taste fine, but they aren't really red. I didn't have enough food coloring.

Then I made Mother's Applesauce Cake, Carrot Cake, White Chocolate Chip Chocolate Cookies, and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies. Those all turned out good. :goodvibes

I have one gift still coming via UPS tomorrow - Deadliest Catch t-shirt and mug for DH, it's his favorite show. And he is quite the fisherman actually, he fishes, I do Disney.;) Works for us!
LOL
I got hooked on that show thanks to Ruben and Adam. They both love it.

Maybe if I don't sleep I can at least do some fudge, bread and one type of cookie.
Who need sleep? ;)

Beth, I use the Disney one that you passed along to me.
Oh good. I love that one. Everytime I make it, I always get asked for the recipe. What's your rum sauce? (you probably mentioned it before and I've forgotten) Good luck making it!!

I'm exhausted and going to bed. Tomorrow Ruben goes back to work, so the kids and I are going to chill out. Do a little cleaning in their rooms, then watch some of the Beverly Hills 90210 DVDs. :happytv:

Oh, has anyone heard anything about Adam Sandlers movie Bedtime Stories? That's opening on Christmas Day as well as the Marley and Me movie. I was planning to see the Marley one, but they are calling it a "tear jerker" and I just don't know if I feel like crying my eyes out on Christmas. :confused3

Night ladies!

I'm currently reading Marley and Me right now and there are some funny things that have happened and one sad thing so far. I'm hoping to finish it this week, I really want to see the movie.

My kids and dh want to see Bedtime Stories too.

Bedtime Stories looks like a cute movie. I definitely want to see it. :) It does come out on Christmas Day. I read Marley and Me early in the summer. It was a great book and there were some sad parts but it also has lots of comedic parts as well. It's a great story. :goodvibes I can't wait to see the movie. :yay:

Cool! Can't wait to see your aprons Melody :cheer2: Wow, you are on a bakefest. That sounds like fun and not to mention delicious!  I made one batch of rice krispie treats. One co-worker bugged me for 4 months asking me to make them after I brought them into the office one day. One day he asked if he promised not to bug me about them again if I would make them for Christmas. :lmao:

What, no one wants to see the Tale of Desperaux?!
That's my sister, Diana.:lmao:

I still haven't seen Quantum of Solace and I like James Bond movies.

We will probably be renting or watching via Netflix some Madea movies. Omgosh Tyler Perry is hilarious!

I have to call work today at 12pm to see if they need me for my on-call shift 2-6:30pm. I doubt they will need me. Today we were SUPER busy and they declined the call-in shifts. That's one thing about the Disney Co., they are SO strict about the hour budget. If they're over, it's very bad. I see a big difference in how things are run from two years ago. Two years ago, when I would work I would have a 6-8 hour shift. Now everyone (except management & leads) have 4.5 hour shifts. If the task (i.e. plush mountain) makes your go over that it's ok but you can't go past 5 hours. I'm hoping there will be a position for me after the holidays but they have quite a few regular CMs.

Ok good night/ good morning.

Diana and I are going to make a gingerbread house and some alfajores today!:goodvibes I'll try to post pictures later.

I have to work today. Yuck. Don't. Feel. Like. It.

I forgot to tell you all that my father had to have emergency surgery this week. He had colon cancer 3 years ago, and has had 5 surgeries since. Well, on Sat he started complaining that his side hurt, and it was pink. Within two hours, it had burst open. The mesh the doctor placed inside to hold everything in was infected. So, he was in surgery Sunday morning at 8am. He did fine, and recovering well. He hopes to go home tomorrow. He is an American Baptist Minister, and he's going to have his first Christmas off in 30 years. I think he's disappointed because Christmas Eve service is his favorite. I'm disappointed that I wasn't there to support him and my mom. We are moving back East in 2010. I hope everyone stays healthy now until at least then.

We are going over to a friends house on Christmas for dinner. I went to AJ's (fancier grocery store) where they have an aisle of beers from around the world. I got two dozen singles (all different) beers for us to try and sample. We've always talked about doing that, but have never tried it. I also got two bottles of wine to go with dinner. You'd think we were alcoholics by the vision in my buggy. Oh well, tis the season...

That's all for now. I feel like I haven't talked with you all in ages. After work, I have to run to target and the grocery store. It should be interesting!

Have a great day all!

Heather :santa:

Hi Hi Everyone!:santa:

My sweetest little granddaughters have been stayed the past 2 nights with us, they are so excitted for santa to come tomorrow night! Our grandson went to my parents. Whhhhhhhhyyy because my daughter and her husband got their grades back from college and they both made the Dean's List!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2: We are so proud of them, here they are with three little children under the age of 6 and working as well as going full time to college.. :wizard: prayers and pixie dust with alot of hard work.

Today we are going to prep appeitzers and food for christmas even and christmas lunch. YummY!

Miss Melody, I'm so Proud of You for finishing the aprons! Maybe next year we can help each other to make a cookbook. And i fully understand about it being easier 20 years ago.. i said that in the mornings when i was getting the grandchildren dressed in layers to go to the Disneyland park...man this was easier 20 years ago. It felt like i did a full days work before we left the hotel:rotfl2:

Tracey... everynight i'm saying at prayer for You cuz we are so close in age and you have little ones... i'm sending you *girL PoWeR*... you are my new HeRo!:worship:

Beth... yep, no marley and me for me.. at least not right now... Bedtime Stories sounds like it could be fun. i Love Adam Sandler movies, Happy Gilmore productions. Like waterboy...ohmygosh... with Kathy Bates... how did they ever get her to play that part?!! too funny..:rotfl:

Heather... i've thought several times.. if only you lived closer i would have offered to come over and help wrap presents with you. We could have had snacks and watched girl movies while wrapping.:goodvibes

disney=inspired...we wanna see the Tale of Desperaux! Ohmygosh..what a cute mouse.. i want a tiny one to keep in my backpack!..i love his dumbo ears:upsidedow

Oops the girls are awake.. i must go..it's breakfast time!

Cheryl... i hope things are getting a little better each day and tomorrow you have a special present under the tree for You from You because we need to spoil ourselves!:thumbsup2

LOL Wendy. I THOUGHT that was your VEST!! It looked like you ;) Yup you guessed it LOVELY Sunrise! The weird part was the gal behind the counter grabbed it real quick so my mom thought it was kind of shady like maybe she was in cahoots but I am thinking it must happen all the time so she just wasn't surprised at all. But the weird part was the vest was REALLY nice and the label was an expensive brand. MUCH nicer than Penneys stuff and the car keys were BMW keys LOL. I guess ol Winona is at it again and now she's lowered herself to Penneys LOL ;)

Quick post of pictures before I forget how. :rolleyes1

My tree.........no duh! :rotfl: There is a huge amount of homemade, sentimental ornaments on the tree. Also the pic on the table, is of my second son Derrick ,his wife Sarah and my first grandson Rowen. Look out the window and notice our famous Central California fog. :sad2:

Heather ,I hope your father will continue to do well. It sounds like he has been through alot!! I think it is cool that he is a minister. A very hard job to fill. God Bless him and your family!

Ok I had to answer Wendy in my above post but anyway MORNING everyone! :)

Mel LOVE the tree and LOVE the aprons! Last night was good. The girls made tons of sugar cookies cuz they love to decorate them but I don't know my mom must cook them too long or something cuz they are hard as rocks lol. The girls like to ice them but they are NOT my favs LOL. But then we made those peanut butter ones with the hersheys kisses in the middle and THOSE are my favs! DEF not on the ole diet though. I could definitely mow a whole box of those. THAT is why I don't cook or bake anymore because I would be 200+ lbs again if I did. WAY too easy to overinduldge. My stupid weight has been ALL over the place since I got back from our trip too and it sucks. I will be SO glad when the holidays are over and I can get serious again about getting this last bit of weight off. BLEH! But anyway we had chilli at mom's and watched the football game so it was a nice relaxing evening.

Now today I have to take Lynn to work soon and then we are off to BRAVE the malls. I am glad the girls will get to see santa becuase I know that my days of getting pics with him are getting short. I have pics with both the Santa and easter bunny since they were infants. You know the ones where they are desperately grabbing for me LOL. In fact one year it is just Katy because shelby REFUSED to be near him so there are a few years where LYnn had to hold her or I think even one year "I" even had to sit on Santa's lap holding Katy LOL. But none the less I have pics every year of them but I know it is almost over so I want to get them as long as I can. Usually I get them as soon as he gets there in November but this trip really messed us up this year. Got my cards out late, girls didn't get to see santa. I am just all behind LOL.

Then tonight Shane wants to go get a haircut and go out to eat so we shall see.

Hope everyone has a good day and see yall later! :)

Prayers for Heather's Father.:wizard:

Yeahhhhhh Miss Melody... the aprons are so adorable, you did a wonderful job!:thumbsup2 What a pretty tree.

Where is WendyLouWho?:santa: i miss her!

We just made the easiest yummiest appetizer..
You mix:
cream cheese with some crumbled bacon, diced pickled jalapenos i added a touch of brown sugar karo syrup because sometimes that little sweet with the salty is really nice.

Anyhoo, you spread it on flour tortillas..then roll the tortilla up.. i leave them in the fridge usually a few hours or overnight. then slice the tortillas to make pinwheels. Each tortilla should make at least 1/2 dozen.

Alright off to make some chili con queso..the girls voted that's what's for lunch. It's great being Grandma:rotfl:

I'll probably let the kids decide. Or maybe toss a coin. LOL

I made one batch of rice krispie treats.
I love rice krispy treats! Maybe I'll have the kids make those for Santa instead of cookies.....:rolleyes1

Sounds fun! Enjoy!!

Your aprons came out great. You are truly talented! :worship:

I hear ya there!! I've been maintaining my loss so far, but I have a long ways to go, and I am not making any progress.
