Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

I vote for a separate Oct. Dis Divas thread--just to keep everything straight.

I know that we wanted to try to do the BBQ, for one thing, right?

I'll let you pick an open room for free vet care. C'mon up! :thumbsup2

I wish I could put Mickey ears on them and then they'd be my Mickey Moose Divas (since they are both girls). :goodvibes

Are you sure they are both girls? Could the smaller one be a young male? You know, who just happens to like older women?

Evening all. I have a way off-topic question but I'm sure I can get the answer here. Not sure if I mentioned earlier this week Selena and Raine had pink eye on Monday. Well yesterday Rhys woke up with it too. Now today he's got pink eye, a really bad runny nose and what looks like an ear infection. What can I give him (over the counter) until we get him to the doctor in the morning? The closest urgent care clinic is about 45 minutes from here. If we can treat him with over the counter until the morning that's our preference. I have a feeling that we'll be headed to the clinic tonight but I'd like to try this first. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the off-topic stuff.

Cheryl, I'm so glad you said that. I've been sitting thinking, "I really don't want them to know how much of a lazy sass I am." If the hunt goes longer, I'm afraid I won't finish it. Just ask Tina. I've said it before, when I get hot and tired...look out. Again just ask Tina. The hunt was fun, but wore me out. I'm with Capri also in that having a nice, cool ride (Pirates?) to ride through half way would be heavenly. It would do alot for my stamina. Those are my thoughts on the hunt.

Pirates, It's A Small World, Haunted Mansion, DL Train, Casey Jr., Snow White, Mr. Toad, Pinnochio, Pooh, and Buzz all usually have short lines and/or they are fast loading. Any of those would be great on the scavenger hunt. And I don't think any of our ride cheekins would have a problem going on any of those rides, right?

Definitely not a boy. For one, it didn't have any antler buds that a young yearling male moose would have. Plus, the critter had no package, if you know what I mean. :rolleyes1

So, I'm confused about who all is going in October. I was wondering if there is a place on the front where we can keep track of who all is going, who's bringing family, and what not. I know we had discussed doing some meals together. Should we do organize it here, or perhaps another thread like the exchange?

I'm getting so excited about our trip next Feb with the planning that I keep forgetting that I have trip even before that! :woohoo:

Why don't you start a new Oct Diva thread?

Great minds!

So the moose might be a cougar?

I was going for the 'cool off' factor when I picked pirates, but I agree any of those would be good. I just know that at WDW, Pirates is my go to ride when I'm hot and cranky! :lmao: :thumbsup2

I think doing something on Pirates Lair would be fun, then we'd have to rest long enough to ride the raft over.

Beth do you want to start a thread planning the October trip or would you like me to? I don't mind either way. :dance3:

How old is Rhys?
Maddie's doctor would prescribe Motrin when she had an ear infection (she was 1).

I am so sorry to hear that your kiddos are all sick. That is a major bummer.

Thanks January. He's 3. I will give that a shot. I just wish I could take the pain away for him.

Geee Steph, that doesn't sound like fun at all! Poor guy. Well, other than being grumpy and uncomfortable, if he's acting okay (meaning he's drinking fluids, eating, not acting listless, or screaming/crying in pain from his ear infection, etc) then I would treat the symptoms for this evening and take him to the doctor tomorrow. Give him something for his runny nose and the pain for his ear infection.

Hope he get better soon.

I would go this route too. Taylor never really had any earaches when she was little. But I would give motrin until I could get her to the doc the next day.

Uhoh. Cristabel, do you talk too? Snore? Drool? Ohh, I drool too. Guilty.

You know I never drooled in my life, but during the third trimester of this pregnancy I kept drooling

. I kept wondering what was wrong with me. Then I read a pregnancy article that said some women begin to drool in the last trimester of their pregnancy. Who knew :confused3.

Not that I want to ditch my roomies, but if it's reasonable, as in pretty cheap, I would like to stay on-site, at least for part of the time. Cheryl, you knew I would!!

Actually Stacie, I would love to stay onsite if it was reasonable. Splitting it with you all is probably the only way I'm ever going to get to!

I'm with both of you. If we get an okay rate, I'd like to stay on site also (even if it's a little bit more). So no need to ditch me ;).

I was thinking the same thing. All I know are the dates. There was also talk of doing Beth's b-day at Thunder BBQ on the 24th, but I could be wrong :confused3.

I'll be there for at least a day.

Motrin is easy to give too...they make the kids stuff taste good. I hope the little guy feels better soon.:guilty:

Hey Steph, I agree with January, Motrin will likely give him a lot of relief!! My DD will be lying on the couch moaning, give motrin and 30 minutes later she is bouncing around the couch on her hoppity-hop.

I googled Pink Eye and it seems if coupled with a cough or earache it is likely bacterial. Make sure you wash your hands constantly, or you will have it too!!!

What fun!!

:grouphug:Thank you all so much. I knew with all of the knowledgeable women here that you could help me out. I know we'll be at the doc first thing in the morning.

I hate pink eye so much. It was inevitable that he was going to get pink eye. I'm just hoping that Josh and I don't get it.
