Alrighty our flights are booked for Feb/Mar.
Whoo hooo for booked flights!!!!! :cool1:

Beth... what about cupcakes? They are so much fun! I think everyone secretly likes them better than cake.. because they are your own individual cake.
I prefer cupcakes and mentioned those to Noelle. I think we could even get all the stuff and make it like a project for the kids, to decorate your own Twilight cupcakes. So that's one option.
I LOVE the vampire bite cupcakes link btw. Very cool.

This woman has really great ideas for parties. I'm book marking her site.

Hey look they even took a picture of their shoes like we did in vegas:rotfl:
She really does!!! Wow. She went all out on that party. I wish I'd been invited. :rotfl2: And they did do a toe pic like we did. How fun is that!!!! :rotfl:

Thank you so much for all those helpful links. I had fun checking them out! Great ideas there for sure.

Thanks, Beth, I think I've worked it out now.

I called a local bakery place and she said you had to have food coloring inks set up in your computer... Jane, have you done this before?

I love the vampire cupcake idea!

(that bakery near Beth sounds like a rip...)
It's one of those foo-foo bakeries that are trying to be all fancy like the one in that show Ace of Cakes. :snooty:

Beth, Cake Wrecks (http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/) post today is Twilight cakes. Apparently all you need is photo paper and black icing. :rotfl2:
:rotfl: I love the one with the bleeding red bell peppers. :rotfl2:

Although what we end up with will probably end up looking suspiciously like one of those pictured, I'm sure. :rolleyes1

OKay good. :)

Food coloring inks in your computer? It sounds confusing to me.... :rolleyes1

I'm going to see if she'll go for a cupcake decorating party. I can make black, red and white frosting. Make some white and red velvet cupcakes. Get some sugar crystal sprinkles. (you know, since he sparkles) Some red tubed gel icing. Etc. It won't be any cheaper than a cake, but perhaps they'll have fun doing it. We'll see.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!!! :goodvibes

I know many of you are still recovering from this past meet, but I think sometime soon, perhaps after Halloween, I'm going to start the sign-up lists for meals. So maybe everyone can start thinking of where they are planning on eating. And we'll need more volunteers to make reservations. The front page has the list of who's booking what so far.

Also Angie, I'm sorry, but were you still ok with arranging the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour?

Is there still interest in the Gospel brunch? Sarah, were you still willing to book that??

Stacie, I know you've been super busy, but any ideas on getting together, even by phone, to discuss the Meet and Greet plans?

Melody, how are the tee designs coming along? I cannot wait to see them!!! :yay:

I know we are still just under four months before this trip, but they will be a busy four months with the holidays and all, so I just want to get the ball rolling on a few things. :)

Beth.. we are going to be at the Grand in feb instead of the holiday inn, thanks to a super great friend.

Hey Miss Donna.. hope your day is going great.

WendyLouWho...ohmygosh that was so hilarious..what's up with those ugly cakes.. :rotfl2:

I plan to get an email out to the "committee" after this weekend. Next week is HIM week, and I am incharge of all the activities for the department. Once that is over, I have a little down time. But be on the look out for the email. I'm eager to get the meet and greet planned.

4 months seems a long time, but it will be here before we know it.

Yeahhhhhhhh a Stacerita post!:yay: More More, Por Favor!

We need to get more done on the scavenger hunt too.

Aww, how fun! OK, I'll make that change on the front page. :thumbsup2

And maybe if it's not too much trouble, I can sneak up to your room one of the days on the trip so I can see what they look like...... :rolleyes1 (I know I'll never afford to stay there, but it would be fun to take a peek!)

Sounds great! I'll keep an eye out for that. :thumbsup2

And yes, I agree the trip will be here before we know it. The last three months of the year, ALWAYS fly by for me. ::yes::

Have a good afternoon ladies. I'm getting ready to go to the twins school for the costume parade now. Later!

Usually it's cheaper to rent points than booking a regular room, but it all depends on the time of year & if it's a weekend. Friday & Saturday night stays are about double the points so they are usually not a better deal, especially if you can get an AP discount.

If you let me know your dates, I can check the point chart and let you know how many points it would be. People who rent usually charge $10-$13/per point.

Hope this helps.

Right now the dates are January 6 - 8th.

It would 30 points total for both nights. The good thing about staying on points is that you don't have to pay any taxes or resort fees.

That's cool! Now I have to find out how much it'll cost and how to actually rent the points.

I wanted to share this picture we snapped outside our house this morning. It snowed last night!

Dawn, what a pretty picture! I love it when it snows in the mountains. They look like they've been sprinkled with a bit of powder sugar. :goodvibes

Nice picture Dawn! My hometown of Denver is getting huge amounts of snow...I do not miss it at all but I like to see it from afar...very far like 1500 miles away. ;)

I wanna come and sneak a peek!

I heard on the news that it snowed in a few southern states.

My friend Amanda lives in Aurora and it is a winter wonderland there.

All we are getting is rain & freezing cold weather.

Beth ~ I wish we had a 4 day wknd. You guys get a lot of them. hmmm...maybe I should move there??

I am so sleepy today.
I hope everyone is having a great day.

You should!! Then Marcie would want to come here even more often. :lmao: :lmao:
Tomorrow is Nevada Day so the school are closed for that. And Monday is a staff development day so the teachers will be there but not the students.

I'm glad we get a long weekend. It's been cold and I have a sore throat. :sad2: I think I'll be taking it easy and resting a lot while the kids are home.

Stay warm! :goodvibes

Snow Day!!! Some of my coworkers and my sister have 18 inches of snow. :scared1: As much as I don't like snow and cold, I have been through a couple of those huge snowstorms where it shuts down the entire city and it is kind of cozy and fun knowing you are really stuck at home and aren't able to go any place. Once we were snowed in for 3 days.
