Beth.. we are going to be at the Grand in feb instead of the holiday inn, thanks to a super great friend.

Sweet!!! Have fun - we never did get to meet up for Magicale this past trip......... boo!

I plan to get an email out to the "committee" after this weekend. Next week is HIM week, and I am incharge of all the activities for the department. Once that is over, I have a little down time. But be on the look out for the email. I'm eager to get the meet and greet planned.

4 months seems a long time, but it will be here before we know it.

Hints????

Have a good afternoon ladies. I'm getting ready to go to the twins school for the costume parade now. Later!

Aw, how cute!! Jesse is way too cool for costumes (as we all know), so that is not happening ever again - boo!

I wanted to share this picture we snapped outside our house this morning. It snowed last night!
30jtu2d.jpg

Wow, snow!! Keep it your way, 'K??? I don't want any snow this year:sad2:

II am so sleepy today.
I hope everyone is having a great day.

You need some coffee!! That'll pick you up for sure :thumbsup2

Ah, I see. Yep, even when she comes to Vegas Theresa is always working. One of the downfalls of being self-employed I guess.

Yep, one of the "benefits" of working for yourself ;) I can go anywhere I want to, but I have to work while I'm there......... it's a tradeoff I can live with :upsidedow

Thanks, Beth, I think I've worked it out now.

I'm so glad you got the EC rate for the room - yay Hojo :yay:

As much as I don't like snow and cold, I have been through a couple of those huge snowstorms where it shuts down the entire city and it is kind of cozy and fun knowing you are really stuck at home and aren't able to go any place. Once we were snowed in for 3 days.

3 days is a long time! It can be nice and cozy though. I will say that having snow in December was one of my favorite parts of living in northern Michigan. (That and the amazing colors on the leaves in the Fall.) It was truly magical to have big fluffy flakes falling on Christmas day. :santa:

If only they could find a way to make that same snow disappear once January 1st arrived, instead of it sticking around until Easter!!! :scared1:

Hiya ladies! Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the very fallish weather!

I've been trying to keep up but mostly read updates and see photos on FB.

Looking forward to hearing more about the planning for the Feb trip!

Already got it. :thumbsup2

Well, in my family Adam is not dressing up. He's staying home to help Ruben pass out candy. He's too cool to dress up now.

Noelle is a 60's flower child. You can't see in the pic, but she's got some really funky sandals on, and some beaded peace sign earrings that match the dress. Also it didn't show up well in the pic, but that mark on her face is a flower tattoo.

Lindsey is a cowgirl. We bought a different hat though, a brown one that matches better with the outfit.

And Hannah is a Devil/Angel:

Beth if I didn't know better I would swear that Noelle had been in my closet when I was a teenager. I used to wear stuff like that. :lmao:

Hi Shirley!:) How have you been? Better, I hope.
I know what you mean about the outfit. Isn't Noelle so beautiful in that picture? She looks like a flower child (minus the drugs, of course:laughing:). Awww, they grow up so fast. *heavy sigh*
And Callie - you ARE coming in February - Kapeesh?

I know we are still just under four months before this trip, but they will be a busy four months with the holidays and all, so I just want to get the ball rolling on a few things. :)
Yay for planning!! Good idea to get started with signups right after Halloween. Once we get into Thankgiving/Christmas mode, we might get too busy to think about it and it would be nice to have it all figured out before then, especially since ressies will need to be made right at Christmas.

Put me down for rooming at HOJO with my friend Jamie. She hasn't been to DL since 2nd grade, which for her would be about 15 years ago, so she is excited for the trip! We are flying into Long Beach Thursday morning and leaving Sunday afternoon. If it doesn't work out for the others, I can book the Walt tour and/or Gospel Brunch.

Oh, I wanted to share I will be dressing as Snow White to work tomorrow. :) :lmao:

I made a cake using the skull pan I received in the exchange.
Thanks again Kelly !

The girls look great!! They're so beautiful! Did you get Noelle's dress at the Goodwill? I saw a bunch of them there, clearanced from Target. All their costumes look wonderful!

I had no clue it snowed in Texas. :sad2:

Nice picture Dawn! My hometown of Denver is getting huge amounts of snow...I do not miss it at all but I like to see it from afar...very far like 1500 miles away. ;)

Hi Courtney! I hope everything is great! Has it been windy and chilly in your part of Ventura county? I know it has been in my part! :goodvibes[/QUOTE

Hi Vicki! We got an email today that our Denver office was closed due to the weather!! I thought of you!!

Everything is super in Oxnard!! Yes, it's been very chilly and windy and just plain cold!!!!

My babysitter turns 18 in February and wants to come with me so I have a roomie and another diva in training! We'll be at the Hojo Wed-Sat

Hello ladies!

Beth, your pictures of the girls are great. I also remember wearing some stuff like that too! Your Twilight party sounds great. I'm reading the last book right now. :hyper:

Dawn, yikes! It must be pretty cold by you right now. Your pic is so pretty. I also loved all of your links for a Twilight party. I'm going to show them to Kaitlyn. She is turning 16 next month. I wonder if she'd like to do something like that. How fun!! And my other DDs would love to help me I am sure!!!

Trudi, Your cake turned out amazing! Have you ever done anything like that before?

Shirley, It's good to see you around here again. How are you?

Callie, How is the weathere by you? Are you adapting to it?

Beth! I was just perusing through and saw those pics of your girls.. They are GORGEOUS!!!

I have been doing good. Made it through my birthday pretty good. This was the first family event since dh passed away and I wasn't sure how I would do but it turned out okay. Even saw a deer at the end of the night and figured that was dh saying hi (he loved deer). :)

:rotfl: I should have asked you for advice on whether it all looked authentic or not. ;)

Thanks. :goodvibes They do grow up too fast. I cannot believe she's turning 13! An official teenager now. Yikes.

I'll add you and Jamie to the list. And Angie said she can still do the WiWF tour, so now I'm just waiting to hear from Sarah on the brunch. Are you interested in taking the Segway tour? If so, I could use someone to book that. :confused3

Thanks! Oh, but don't tell me that about the dress!! LOL We bought it at Target over the summer for $20. I don't think I've ever even been in a Goodwill. Shoot, maybe I should!!
It was money well spent though. She said today at school several girls came up to her and said they loved her dress.

Take pics of your Snow White costume. :)

Yes, I can still help with that.
Thanks! What's your sitter's name? I can add you both to the roomie list.

Thank you! Good to see you Megan. How is your wonderful family doing?? Is everyone dressing up for Halloween?

Well, it's going to be a small cheap version of a Twilight party, but she's more excited that she and two of her friends get to skip school and go to see New Moon the day it opens. ::yes::
So are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? :rolleyes1

I'm glad you did ok on your birthday. And I have no doubt that your DH's love and spirit is still around checking on you and making sure you are not alone.

Hey Beth, I just finished re-reading this series, and so I've been thinking about this question a lot lately and I'm wondering. . .

why do I have to choose??? :confused3

I want them BOTH!

Is that so wrong?

Callie, How is the weathere by you? Are you adapting to it?

Hi Melody! :goodvibes It's cool and wet here, but nothing I didn't expect or prepare for. We are adapting just fine. The most difficult thing right now is just dealing with the fact that the sun doesn't rise until almost 8 am. Now THAT'S WEIRD! Of course, that will change after this weekend. This will be the first time we've ever participated in Daylight Savings Time as a family. My kids are gonna freak out.

KATIE!!!! Thank you!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I got a little package in the mail today and could not figure out what it was. When I opened it, inside was one of those totally charming demitasse cups from Disneyland filled with a bag of Halloween treats.

100_1345.jpg

Also included was a sweet note saying how she wanted to send me a belated birthday gift which was so thoughtful of her. I love the little cup. It's so cute.
Thank you so much for thinking of me. I saw pictures of them posted in the October thread and I am so happy to have one here now. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Well, not wrong, just not possible. See, I've already claimed Jacob. :rolleyes1 ;)

Beth.. we are going to be at the Grand in feb instead of the holiday inn, thanks to a super great friend.

Hey Miss Donna.. hope your day is going great.
:

I've never seen one of their rooms either, so you may be giving a tour, Dawn! :lmao: Thank you, my day was really busy. But it was lovely here - warming up and going to be in the 90s next week!

That photo of the snow on the mt is so beautiful.

Go Katie!

Honestly, I would not ever stay Grand Concerige again.
I've stayed twice within 6 weeks. The first time not a good experience, and I held my thoughts on it, wanting to give them another chance. Cheryl and I had to fight the entire weekend to get them to do the smallest thing, like remove dirty breakfast dishes and wine glasses from the night before. We were in the park 8 hours and found they came in made the beds and left the dirty dishes.
I found a housekeeper in the hall, she told us she was only the turn down lady. she then called housekeeping floor manager, who came to the room. So now we have 2 housekeeping representatives in the room. The floor manager then called her housekeeping manager.. and meanwhile Cheryl is going back and forth to concerige seeing if they can resolve this.
Finally when the housekeeping floor manager says her manager is coming to the room, Cheryl turned and said, ENOUGH! There are more of you in the room than we are.
Concerige came down very pissed off and removed the dirty dishes, talk about begruding.

After the second time, it's clear they have issues with their housekeeping staff. I'm just not going to pay to stay again in an unclean room. Same dirty wine glass sat on the table with used napkins in it from the day we got there to the day we left. Each day we would leave the room and come back about 3:45 or 4 and the room had not been touched. How embarassing when we brought friends back. Oh well, they only make themselves look bad.

I think Disney has a poor repeat customer service program. They didn't even acknowledge a 3rd visit to that hotel within 6 weeks, with a mickey rice crispy treat or anything. Why should I develope a client loyalty to a hotel that doesn't even acknowledge my patronage? Especially at those prices in this economy.:confused3

That said, the rooms are rooms. Wendy and I spoke of how we both liked the Holiday Inn on South Walnut rooms better.:confused3

What makes the Grand Californian Hotel special are two things, The location and the very beautiful Lobby.

We are staying there in Feb/Mar because of the thoughtfulness in regards to sharing a pin. It's about being close to a friend rather than being at that hotel.

My husband and I spoke about how we actually liked being away from the park and not staying on site, because it allows You to decompress from the rush of the parks.

Feb/Mar will be our last stay there. So I am Glad it is shared with close friends.
