Morning all!

Sounds like everyone had a fairly good weekend despite a few hiccups!

Dawn the crosses are lovely! What a lot of work but I know you enjoy it and you did an amazing job as always!

Tina that is AWESOME that you plan to talk to Katy. I was hoping you would. She will LOVE that! Most kids her age are into toys, Hannah Montana or whatever but she is SO into cooking. She already owns like 10 cookbooks and she watches several shows on the food network. It is hilarious. She LOVES to cook and bake and she has her own easy bake oven and loves to make her own concoctions. I have a friend who knows a gal that wrote a cookbook and had her write to Katy and that had her over the moon. I don't know if she will ACTUALLY become a chef or baker or whatever but I know she will always love to cook because she is really obsessed with it now. :)

Donna sounds like you had a fun day! I actually really enjoyed the El Cap and Soda fountain when we went. I agree I don't know that I would make a special trip JUST to go there although we kind of did that but for a special reason. We were there a few years back and it was Katy's birthday so we took her there on NYE to see Santa Clause 3 and for those of you who have seen movies there you know they usually have the characters that come out before hand and do a little show which makes it neat and we paid extra and got the popcorn and drink package and they gave us little wrist bands with bells on them that said SC3. It was neat plus they had a bunch of props from the movie and that is just a really neat theater in itself with the pipe organ etc.

Then after the movie we all went to the soda fountain for desert and she had her ice cream with the candle etc for her birthday and they sang to her and we opened gifts. We happened to be down for the Rose Parade and we had gone to DL the day before and done the happiest birthdays and the christmas tour and then we did THAT that day as well as Universal Studios. It was a REALLY fun trip!

Bridgette I am glad to hear things are well with you. I hope things continue to go well and again just please be careful. WE all care about you and want only the best for you!!

Jen congrats again and good luck with all the packing!!

Tracey have fun when you go to DL!

As far as me things are back to normal finally. School today and soccer practice tonight. No more days off now till the oct trip! I am feeling a little better each day and I think I have some kind of sinus deal because I mostly just have a lot of sinus pain and a headache so it may be allergies or whatever. Sudafed is my friend right now! :) That is common though this time of year when the weather starts changing. Got nothing planned for today except a date with some laundry and then tomorrow we have to go to Shelby's back to school since it got cancelled last week. Then Lynn claims she is FINALLY going to be working at her job but Shane and I have a feeling something is fishy there. She got hired over 3 weeks ago and has yet to work 1 day. She was SUPPOSED to work last week but called in and asked for the day off the day of the concert supposedly and they got mad and told her she couldn't work the rest of the week. So NOW she claims that they aren't having her work at all this whole week till Fri and sat and then only for a few hours. Something smells fishy to me and I told Shane I think she got fired AGAIN and just doesn't want to admit it to us so we are going to do a little RECON on Friday night and just "show up" conveniently to see if she is truly working. We think that she may just be saying that and then going to go hang out with friends. And then later she will tell us that they laid her off or give some other excuse. Cuz she also claims that she is looking for "another job" cuz this one doesn't seem that great. Yeah whatever. If you HAVE a job then why would you need to look for another one! So we shall see. It shall be interesting. But I told Shane she is going to HAVE to do something because she is not in school and not working and just laying around the house all day is getting REALLY old. She is almost 18 years old and she sleeps in till 10 every day and then gets up and goes straight to the couch in her pj's and either watches tv, texts on her phone or gets on the computer ALL day long and does NOTHING till it's time to go to bed. She won't do ANYTHING around the house unless I tell her and then she gives me flack about that. So something is going to have to change cuz now that I am getting better I am going to have to go back to work and run errands etc and I am not going to have her laying around like a bump on a log for the next 6 months!

Anyway that's bout it for me. Hope everyone has a GREAT day and ttyl!

Thanks to everyone who has sent good wishes my way. Everything is fine now and my heart is happier than ever. That's all that matters. We're still together and moving forward with the whole enjoying life in every aspect plan. I'm so sad that my report is so short but I've read many of the posts from everyone and I just want to say that I truly love you all and miss you terribly. I'll be back soon I promise.

One final note... I'm sending pixie dust and prayers to everyone who needs them and warm fuzzies to all! :grouphug:

I'm glad things are working out for you. Please be careful and keep us posted.

Hi Ladies!

I'm back from Disneyland, sadly. Gosh, I was not happy to be home today to this packing madness and wished I could still be at Disneyland. We had a great trip and I did my race!! :yay: And I got to see Cheryl and Capri! :cool1:

Here are my results:

Chip Time 2:36:32
Overall Place 6325 / 11643
Gender Place 3258 / 7262
Division Place 565 / 1190
Age Grade 43.5%
5K 42:35
10K 1:17:50
15K 1:56:11

I would have liked to have been about 10 minutes faster. Too many potty stops and got stuck in people jams in the parks. Next time I'll know how to maneuver the crowds! It was a fun race and going through Anaheim stadium and Disneyland and DCA were definite highlights. I wore my Diva shirt in honor of all you ladies!

Now I have to pack. I'm seriously panicking because I have no idea how it is going to happen in time. I'm completely overwhelmed. :scared1:

Going to do a little more and then head to bed.

G'nite...
-Jen

Great job, Jen! Good luck with the packing!

Hi Jen! Good luck with the packing. Just keep at it and it will get done, really! I think it is so cool that you and your boys did the race. What a great experience. You did awesome too! I hope that your move goes well and I look forward to reading about your adventure. Take care, Tracey

My family has always made these, but we call them salmon patties. We also make a sort of Salmon Soufle, which is fabulous. Crushed Ritz Crackers work great and add a bit of sweetness. That was me growing up. My current family, hubby from Minnesota, and fussy kids don't eat salmon. My oldest actually walked into the kitchen one day when I was cooking it and vomited:scared1: I have mostly given up cooking it, and try to eat my salmon when we eat out, except for the individual size salmon pieces that Costco sells, which I can sneak on the BBQ every now and again. But your recipe brought back great memories and sounded so yummy. Oh, we used home canned salmon too. (always had to can it when the salmon were running you know)

Capri, Happy Birthday and welcome home. Your report is scaring me because I hate the heat and am headed there tomorrow for the day. Off to check the weather report.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I made major dents in my organizing and I am finally feel like I might get caught up one day. Maybe???

Have a wonderful day all. Tracey

Oh my gosh! That cracked me up!!!

You'll have fun tomorrow, no matter how hot it is! Happy Birthday to you!!!

I'm trying to motivate myself to get going. I've got some grocery shopping and cooking to do today, but I am slow-moving. Maybe a pumpkin spice latte from the Starbucks in Safeway will get me going........:rolleyes1

I just read someones trip report from that one and it sounds like so much fun! I just checked out the England/france one and that looked so great! How could a person ever choose?

Sarah

PS Not that I have 20,000 to be able to afford a trip like that!
My dream is to do the Alaskan one. I love everything about it!!! But I priced it out once and even doing the cheapest time of year, it was still like $17,000!! So, not likely to happen anytime ever, but still fun to think about.

Thanks to everyone who has sent good wishes my way. Everything is fine now and my heart is happier than ever. That's all that matters. We're still together and moving forward with the whole enjoying life in every aspect plan.
Good luck to you Bridgette.

Welcome back!! We were cheering you on in spirit!!! :cheer2:

Good Morning Friends:goodvibes

I hope today is good for each of you!
And for you too! :hippie:

My family has always made these, but we call them salmon patties.
I've made those before. Ruben and his parents like them so I made them when they came to visit us in Michigan. Never again. The house and my hands reeked!! lol

Well today is the first day of school for our boys. It should be mayhem here this morning in about 30 minutes - LOL.
Hope they have a good day today!!! :wizard:

As far as me things are back to normal finally.
I'm happy to hear that. I hope things continue to steadily improve for you.

MORNING LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day everyone!!! :grouphug:

I think that is just what you need to get going. :thumbsup2

Oh, and speaking of pumpkins, today is the last day for sign-ups for the Halloween exchange. Just an FYI. Sign-ups will close tomorrow morning, probably around 9, and names will go out sometime tomorrow.
I've got a busy day tomorrow, the twins have a dentist appt which means I will need to drive Ruben back and forth to work, so I can't say exactly when, but the names will go out at some point. :)

TTYL!!!!

Happy Tuesday, beautiful Divas!!! It's the first day of school around here (okay, really the first two hours of school today ;)), so it's quiet and strange, but I love it!!!

I'm so behind on pages - work has been way too crazy busy, so hey all and I hope everyone is doing great :thumbsup2

BTW - Beth, whenever I have to handle stinky food - fish! - I wear those disposable see through rubber gloves. No stinky hands :thumbsup2

TTFN!!

Good morning all
So after we changed the battery the radio won't work. It says CODE. I got the serial number off the radio (after dismantling the center console and radio:rolleyes:) and tried calling the Honda dealer where the previous owner bought it from but they would not give me the code over the phone. They said I need to bring in my Driver's license and car registration. :headache: So I called the Honda dealer nearest to me and he didn't seem to have any problem with me asking since he tried connecting me to the service dept but no one was answering :sad2:

I have to call again later and if they can't give it to me that way and I can't figure it out myself then I'll have to drive over there and I really don't want to!

My dad gave me a different route to get to school from my house. It sounds a whole lot better than taking the 5 to the 91 to the 57. He's sending me through the 210 (I love that freeway, it's so pretty) then to the 57. I might be able to stop and look at a bicycle showroom with beach cruisers :thumbsup2
Have a great day!

OK, cleaning the files and foundour AAA diamond parking pass from our feb trip to WDW.

Anyone going to WDW in 2009 who needs this? If so, PM me your address and I will forward.

Oooh, good to know. Although I doubt I'll ever make those again. :rotfl2:

Jen, thanks for sharing the wealth of all the things you are not in use of anymore. Hopefully they'll come in handy for someone else.

Cristabel, sorry about your car hassles. I know only to well what you are going through.

Went on a 45 minute walk this afternoon, and now I'm REALLY tired and sleepy. I can barely keep my eyes open. I thought that exercise was supposed to energize you, or does that come later as you get in better shape? :confused3

First, let me make it clear - Vicki and i are not going to "club 33" but
D23 Expo. Big difference. I say this because I've already gotten a PM from someone thinking we were going to Club 33. We only wish we knew someone who was a member, but we don't.

D23 expo is the first fan-based Disney convention run by Disney itself, held at the Anaheim convention center this week. We are worried it will be a zoo, worried about long lines everywhere but especially to get in the talks and to wait to retrieve cellphones that they make force you to check (because they have cameras).

We'll report back.

Capri, don't hesitate to send it to me because I would hate it if some other store messed up your new hoodie. I will PM you too.

Jen, I know you will get it all done. You are a dynamo!

I just had a quick question regarding the meet and greet and how it works. Does everyone chip in money for the pizza and alcohol? I am flyin so i won't want to bring a bottle on with me. Is there anyone who would be willing to pick up and paid back when I get there? I am tryin to create a budget (which I never end up sticking to) helps the time fly by with planning.

Everyone will pitch in X amount of money for the meet and greet, so no worries on that :thumbsup2

Parking pass and SW drink coupons claimed!

Will get those in the mail this week. Those who got to me first...watch out for PMs.

Just keep packing...keep on packing...

Cristabel, sorry about your car hassles. I know only to well what you are going through.

Beth, you have had it much harder than me. I had a problem that was easily diagnosed and cheaply fixed. I'm just glad I was able to get my car radio to work. A quiet ride is a sad ride!

Yup! Cheryl is making extra jell-o shots just for me! ;):lmao:

Hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday (mostly because it's not a Monday). My drive to school was lovely, no traffic and great scenery. I stopped in Azusa for In-n-Out. YUM. That's my last fast food for quite some time.

Just checking in with everyone. Hope all is well and that everyone had an enjoyable holiday.

Oh no this is my specialty! I bring them to any function I go to. I knew I loved Cheryl! Last time we took oranges and cut them in half, scooped them out and filled them with peach and melon jello. After they set up we cut them into orange wedges they were very good and fun!:woohoo:

That sounds really yummy!
Maybe you guys can collaborate :thumbsup2

A friend on another site is embroiled in a heated contest to win membership in a sock club (don't even ask--I have no idea what it is--just that it's $200 a year otherwise or some crazy amount). She is only 1% behind and needs votes!

Here is the link:

http://www.knit-purl.com/Store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=154&idproduct=4337

Please vote for 3894 (it's the kitty in the stocking cap!)

Thanks!

But , , , , , but , , , , what kind of alcohol did you put in the orange wedges?

LOL--of course you loved Cheryl! And I will make special jello shots for you--another jello shot maker!
