I voted for your friend Cheryl, I hope she wins the socks.
That naughty, naughty Bella! I bet she had the time of her life...until you caught her. :rotfl2:

Courtney, I'm so glad your mom is doing better. :thumbsup2

Dawn, I hope your baby is better soon. How scary for you. We lost two dogs to seizures, but it turned out they were poisoned. It's so scary to watch. I hope the medicine doesn't bother her too much. Yay for the prizes, and I hope the trial run goes well. :)

Jello shots...yum! They were the highlight of the party. Also, Cheryl, I love your rule. It's tough love I tell you, but necessary sometimes. I deal with that everyday at work. People are miserable, but don't want to take your advice. *sigh* What's a nurse to do though...you can't make people do what you think is best.

Mel, dill mayo sounds wonderful! I wish I wasn't allergic to salmon. Those burgers sound yummy!

Linda, we missed you! I'm so glad you had a nice trip. I want to see pictures!

Vicki and D, have a great time at the expo. Think of me, I'd love to be there drinking in all the Disney culture. The best part for me would be the A/C! :lmao:

Deb, yay for school starting! I was like you, I couldn't wait to get it started. It just meant that I was that much closer to finishing. :thumbsup2

OK, I just got done reading that they are planning on adding the old Hatbox Ghost back into the HM this Jan when they take down the holiday layover. So we will have something new in the HM to see! :yay: He sounds so cool, and I can't wait to see him. In case you haven't heard of him before, check out this page about halfway down explains the ghost, and why he was removed to begin with.

I love having new stuff to see! The lagoon should be full of water by then also, right? I've never seen it with water! (strange, but true.) So, anyway, I'm looking forward to our trip.

Oh, and as an added bonus, Stacie and I are going to see Mary Poppins the musical in Phoenix the night before we leave. I can't wait! :dance3:

I work tomorrow, so you all have a wonderful day.

Heather

Have we heard from Steph? I hope she is alright. I've been keeping her in my prayers.

Thank You all for Your sweet words!
Have a Great Day and Be HaPpPy!

Good morning gals!!

I had a good nights sleep. I actually slept from 10:30pm to 5:00am this morning. :goodvibes That is the best night I've had for awhile. I usually wake up alot. DH snores something fierce, and my stupid hormones are going amuck too. Oh the joys of getting old.

Hello Dawn! I love the Audry Hepburn quote. She was such a beautiful lady.princess: How are you this morning? All packed? You have such a nice week coming up. How's your puppy?
I wonder about Steph too. I hope she is not in too much pain.

Cheryl, I forgot to go back and vote for your friend. I hope she won. :yay:

Courtney, Your Mom's spirits sound so much better. That is half or most of the battle many times. :goodvibes

Heather, I want to see Mary Poppins. It's coming to LA too, and was pondering going. Tell us what you think! I need to look up your link to the Hatbox ghost. Hmm? I have a question for you and all of our ladies. Didn't Leota's head use to suspend in space and move around while she was talking? Now she is stuck back on the pedestal again. Am I all wet about this?:confused3:confused:

Deb, Have fun at school. Way to go girl!!

Donna and Vicki. What can I say, except to have an exceptional time! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes I know you will! :thumbsup2

Beth, Hope your cold is better. :flower3:

Blessings to all!

Morning all!

First off Dawn I am so sorry about your pup! I hope you get him/her all squared away with his/her meds. That must have been really scary! ((hugs))

Cheryl don't mean to laugh but that was really a cute story about Bella and she so looks like the cat that ate the canary in that pic! Such the bad little girl! ;) But I know what you mean. BAAAAD Doggie! ;) Cute story though!

Courtney I agree with the others and it sounds like your mom is doing better. All things happen for a reason I do believe and perhaps this means something even better is out there for her but in the meantime perhaps she can get a much needed break and re-charge her batteries! :)

Linda so glad to see you back and I looked at Bri's pics on Facebook! LOVE them! Looks like yall had SO much fun! Jealous!! :)

And yes Vicki and Donna have a blast at the expo. Sounds like something I would really enjoy. Too bad you can't take pics. You guys will have to do a "report" of what you saw and did!

Deb good luck starting back at school. I don't blame you for being anxious to get it underway.

How YOU doin Beth? (in my best Joey voice) Feeling any better I hope? I ended up resorting to Ambien last night to finally get a little sleep. I really hate this time of year with all the junk in the air. I am pretty sure that is what is messing with my head cuz it really doesn't feel like a cold. Oh well I will keep the sudafed company in business for the next month or so LOL.

Not much on for today. Mom had mentioned wanted me to come in and we may have lunch. I am not scheduled to work till Fri but I may come in today anyway since I was off on Monday for the holiday. Course that means I would have to bring Lynn with me and I'm not quite sure what to do with her. Still don't really trust her to leave her home alone. Her phone gets shut off tomorrow because she has borrowed money from us and my parents the last 3 months in a row and we said no more. If she didn't have a job to pay for it herself by this month it was getting shut off. And so it will be. Katy overheard her last night making plans to sneak out in the middle of the night which distresses me that she is up to that again. WE have REALLY been giving her a LOT of leeway and I don't know WHY she insists on pushing the envelope. Everytime she has asked to go out on the weekends and during the day and even nights we have pretty much let her. I don't know why she feels she needs to still sneak. She only has about 5 months left and then she can do her own thing. I don't know. It's so frustrating.

Anyway if I DON'T go in to work I just plan on cleaning around here and then tonight is Shelby's back to school night. Tomorrow is soccer once again and Friday Shane is going to a poker tournament with some friends from our soccer team. Then Saturday is our first game. So another busy week ahead.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and has something fun and exciting to make the day go fast! :)

Cheryl - I voted for your friend :thumbsup2

Ok, so I am going to try to implement a new rule on another board ==what do you think?

You cannot complain about the same thing (or a variation thereof) more than five times unless you either #1 come up with a solution to your problem, or #2take active steps to take the reasonable advice that someone else on the board gives you. So if you CONSTANTLY complain about the same thing DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY and people give you lots of advice that you ADMIT is reasonable and practical and then you do NOTHING you are prohibited from posting that same vent/complaint until you do.

What dya guys think about that? (and most of you know what I'm talking about)

I don't know what you're talking about...... share?????

Hey! I made the salmon burgers tonight. Yum! I made a dill mayonaise to go with it, but wasn't sure if plain would be just as good. :confused3

Dill mayo sounds yummy and would go fab with salmon burgers. I love flavored mayos!!

I believe it is fall here now!! It's not raining, it's like a typhoon out there - typical fall rain for this part of the world. I think I'm actually going to have to turn on the heater :scared1:

Happy Hump Day!!!

Good morning ladies. :yay:

Cheryl, I voted for your friend too. And Bella, well, you gotta love her, ummm, spirit.

Dawn, that is so scary! I hope your baby gets better and the right medicine so it doesn't happen again.

Linda and Bree, YAY you're back! Sounds like you both had a wonderful time. :woohoo:

Donna, your cute shirt is on the way. Thank you so much for the book.....what a surprise.....I love it!

Debra, you go girl! You're doing great!

Kelly, sounds like you're on the mend.....thank goodness!

Beth, hope you're feeling better sweetie. :flower3:

Steph, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Courtney, glad your mom is feeling better about things. :thumbsup2

Melody, happy to hear you had a good night. I also wake up alot during the night, and yeah, I think it's because of hormones (night sweats and whatnot). But my hubby doesn't snore like a bear.....yet.....thank goodness. :goodvibes

Nothing planned for today. Hopefully I'll get some pics of our trip posted later. Gotta go get the boys up for school now. Talk to you babes later. :wave2:

Hi Theresa!

Yikes! You are going to turn on the heater? Yesterday, it was still 90 degrees here! :headache:

I made dill mayonaise out of dried dill, cuz the store was out of fresh, and my garden dill has also died out on me.:sad2: I'm thinking that if it was fresh, it would have been mucho better! Anyways, something about the taste wasn't quite right for some reason. :confused3

Hey Capri! We're looking forward to your pics and TR!!

Have you started school yet? How are your parents these days?

We were having that a couple of days ago, it just kept pouring buckets on and off all day. Haven't turned on the heat in the house yet but I have in my car. I am hoping for one last burst of summer later this month. I would love a beach day that that is warm (meaning above 65) and clear (meaning clouds but no rain).

We are having a little "car trouble" of our own. DH got in an accident on Friday. A women pulled out from a stop sign directly in front of him and he could not avoid hitting her. No one was hurt other than a few aches and pains. The estimate to fix the car is almost $6000 and we are waiting to hear from her insurance company whether they are going to fix it or total it, the body shop said they thought it was right on the borderline. We are wanting them to fix it because it is a good car and we have had it since it was new - just paid it off a few weeks ago. We have been planning to let Bryan drive it until he can buy his own car (that one or another one) and get a new car for us. I don't want to try to find a used car to buy for Bryan as well.

Kelly - I understand about problem teenagers. I had a couple of those (13 years now since the nervous breakdown). I tried everything and learned a lot through support groups. Somehow we all got through it and they are doing great but I am sad that they do not have the lives they could have had if they had made better choices.

Oops! Time to get ready for work! Good day all!

Gee Carol I think you and I could def relate. I had my "breakdown" this past January. Was hospitalized and everything! It has been bad for a long time and the other gals know all about it. I don't know how much you know but she is my stepdaughter and has a REALLY bad mom who is not in her life anymore so that doesn't help much. She got caught stealing at school and cutting classes her sophomore year and then was brought home by the police for drinking, doing drugs and having sex with some guy she had just met 5 minutes earlier in a park. So we had her in counseling and church groups and everything we could think of and THOUGHT things were getting better until last year when she ran away in Jan. Then I had MY meltdown after a big blowup with her and the whole family and then after I got settled down she went to live with my parents so we all could chill out for awhile and then she ran away from THEM in March of this year for over a month. Got caught and went to juvenile hall and then when she was released she went to live with my dh's parents as my parents refused to take her back. She stayed with them and went to continuation school but then ran away AGAIN with a 20 year old boy and went and lived in Fresno for a month or so till HE kicked her out and now she is back with us because no one else will take her. Both sets of grandparents want nothing to do with her because she has burned those bridges and although she didn't want to live with us she is on probation till she turns 18 and had NOWHERE else she could go and by law she HAS to stay with us or she is breaking her probation.

So that is my long drawn out story. We are actually getting along better now than before because I think we are all just biding our time until she turns 18 and she is free to go back out into the world and do as she pleases. It is truly heartbreaking that you can't get through to her and show her the mistakes that she is making with her life BUT at this age they have to make their OWN mistakes. You can't tell them anything so it is just hard while you live through it till it's over I guess. I just hope someday she crawls up out of it and finds the right path and doesn't go down the wrong one. But it remains to be seen I guess.

Yep, fresh herbs are the best - and a squeeze of citrus goes really well. I like lime, cilantro, and green onion. Very yummy! Depending on what you use in the salmon or chicken or whatever, you can have tons of different mayos.

Linda.. Opening night Mixer was my favorite part of the trip. :thumbsup2
I wonder what they are going to do this year?

I got 2 Big Boxes in the Mail from Disney today... and that means............ drum roll Pleassssssssssssssssssssssse.... all the prizes for the scavenger hunt are here!!! Next week some of the quests and questions are going to be tested. So Your scavenger hunt crew is WoRkIn', BaBeY.:rotfl:

The Meet and Greet and Scavenger hunt are two things I'm looking forward to the most! And of course, actually getting to meet everyone in person:)

Angie

That's great!! I'm so glad you two decided to do that. You both deserve a fun night out.
Oh, and thanks for posting the info about the HM.

Thank You all for Your sweet words!
Have a Great Day and Be HaPpPy!

Great quote! :thumbsup2
Are you excited about your birthday plans?? :goodvibes When do you leave?

Beth, Hope your cold is better. :flower3:
Thanks Melody. It's still hanging around. But you know how colds are. They take forever to totally go away. Grrr. But I'm ok. Just resting and taking DayQuil and NyQuil to get me through it. :thumbsup2

Not much on for today. Mom had mentioned wanted me to come in and we may have lunch.
If you do go to lunch, have a good one!!

Eek!! I'm glad no one was hurt!!

Good morning everyone!

I'm off to a doctors appt and then I'll be on my way to DL to meet Donna and Tracy for lunch at the Carnation Plaza. Exicted to meet Tracy! Then tomorrow D23 starts...I am so excited! So much is planned I am only hoping that it's not too crowded and we are able to see all of the presentations that we've scoped out!

Dawn - are you packed yet? Meeting you will be the topper to a great week of Disney and Diva fun!

I think I could get used to working 1.5 days a week. :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a great week and we'll have lots to report. I won't be back home until Monday.

Wooo HOOO so excited! I agree that the Opening night get together and the scavenger hunt were some of the best events last year and I am looking forward to repeating both! That candy buffet was crazy amazing!

Linda so glad you are back and had a great time! I can't wait to see pics!

Sorry for everyone's dog issues and to those who aren't feeling good I hope you feel better soon!

It was raining like crazy here this morning...I am really glad I carry an umbrella in my purse!

Have a great day all!

Have a great time Vicki....I don't even know what I would do if I only had to work 1.5 days a week! LOL!

Sarah

Ummmmm, I'm feeling a little lost now that our youngest is in school ALL day.....almost like I'm going through some kind of empty-nester syndrome. I don't know what to do with myself. It doesn't feel right to leave home because what if the school calls and can't get ahold of me......or what if the school doesn't call my cell phone......what if they don't even have my cell number (I think I gave it to them in all the emergency forms I filled out, but what if I didn't)......or what if I leave home to run errands or whatever and I don't get home in time to meet them off the bus.

Good thing my new class starts next week. I need something to keep my mind busy so I don't think about all the "what if's". I'm so mental. :rolleyes1

Heather

I can't wait either!! And don't work too hard today!

Good morning gals!!

My DH used to snore ALOT! Then he finally did a sleep study and now has a CPAP machine and doesn't snore at all! I'm sure it helps that he's lost weight, but the machine definitely makes a difference! Plus I take Ambien CR a couple of times a week and I sleep like a log.

I saw Mary Poppins on Broadway a couple of years ago with DDs, it was awesome! We also saw Beauty and the Beast and I liked MP better. Can't wait to see it again!!

I believe it is fall here now!! It's not raining, it's like a typhoon out there - typical fall rain for this part of the world. I think I'm actually going to have to turn on the heater :scared1:

Happy Hump Day!!!

Fall?? What's that? Oh, you mean that 1 week we get here in Phoenix when it's below 90 degrees, then drops to the 70's?? And heat?? No thanks, don't want anymore of that!!

:wave2: Hi everyone!! Just a busy day today cleaning, laundry, making banana bread... YUM!!

Just a note to anyone who used Restaurant.com; in honor of 9/9/09, certificates are 90% off for 99 hours!! This is the lowest I have ever seen them sold for!!! Once you put them in your cart, the code you use is NINETY.

You can also get general gift certificates that you can apply towards a specific restaurant later. Some of the restaurants are sold out already, so if you do the Dinner of the Month club, you can get 3 $25 certificates for $3, plus you get a free $10 certificate. You don't have to choose your restaurant right now, you do it when you want to use it. So if you're going on vacation, this would be a great way to use them!!

One more thing, if you use MyPoints, go there first, and click through to Restaurant.com to get points.

Good morning everyone!
Dawn, I hope your little puppy gets better and doesn't need to permanently go on medication.

Wishing good thoughts to everyone. I'm having a pretty good day so far:thumbsup2 The weather is cooling down from the past week's scorchers and the humidity has died down as well. That's REALLY good because I didn't blow dry my hair today and it's already going a little funky :lmao:

I hope everyone had a splendid holiday weekend, I know I really enjoyed my time with the family and my dog.

Class should be starting in a few minutes but my prof isn't here yet. It seems he's one fry short of a happy meal if ya KWIM ;)

Have a great Wednesday! Friday is in two days :cool1:
